Alex returned my call promptly and scheduled quickly. He was prompt, very knowledgeable, and friendly as he worked on the piano and commented on its condition for such an old piano. I informed him that the piano had been through a flood, so he reviewed the interior to make sure that it was not in need repair and assured me that the piano was in good condition. He spent about two hours tuning the piano, and it sounded wonderful afterwards. I'm enjoying getting back into playing again because of Alex's work. I will certainly continue to use Alex and Piano Arts for our future Piano Tuning or repair needs. I would highly recommend Alex and Piano Arts for any of your piano needs for services or tuning as they are fast, knowledgeable, and reasonably priced.

I cannot really expressed how much this improved the sound. Here are a few impressions: the tone is smoother, and also more focussed. THe accents are very clear and defined without having to hit the key too hard. The soft parts are more singing and colorful. It is easier to bring out the voices. The leading voice is very clear and bell-like. I could just go on and on - as I play it I keep hearing more good qualities. I am working on an Impromtu by Schubert, a Chopin Ballade, and Beethoven's opus 109. It is like being a painter and being handed a pallette of bright pure colors, where before you had only a selection of dull and dark.

Had work done, then when we wanted to pick up our piano, he charged us another $100 just to be able to retrieve our own piano. He is also erratic in his behavior. One minute he is charming, the next minute he is livid. He also takes an hour to answer a 5 min question. Very temperamental. And once he has your piano, he's got you. He holds your piano hostage till you do what he wants.
