Another music shop tipped me off that this place had several in stock, and upon calling I was delighted to discover that they did. Although they were initially asking over $100 more than some bigger guitar shops online, the manager agreed to match that price and I was able to take home a Yamaha Revstar! The shop itself is pretty cool. When you drive up on Main Street it appears there's a lot of construction and NOT a lot of parking, but this isn't the case - they have a spacious lot in the back. Enter through the black door and you'll find yourself emerging into the shop near a wall of ukuleles. The store basically appeared to have three areas. The first room had the strings, acoustic guitars, (maybe drums and keyboards, I'm not sure), etc. The second area seemed to have equipment for recording and maybe some effects. The third room was well worth traversing the labyrinthine layout for, because that's where they kept the electric guitars and pedals and guitar straps. Despite being a small business they have a great selection. The manager seemed super knowledgeable and helped me pick some extra strings to go with my new guitar at my request. One of the things that really stood out to me too is that they offer a 50% discount on set-up service when you buy a new guitar from them. Although the person who does it was out for the week, I fully intend to bring my guitar back in to get it set up for only 30-something dollars! (Although, it seemed to play great off the wall.) Overall this is a great local music shop and should be on every guitarist's radar.

After our first year of the group class, we told the owner, Eileen, that we wouldn't be attending anymore. Our daughter just has trouble focusing and while, our teacher, Ms. Natalie is a delight, the class just isn't working for her. Eileen will tell you anything to keep you paying your membership apparently and told us that we if the group classes don't work out for her, we can put her in a one on one class. Well here is how the payments work. It's not a month to month situation. It's a "membership." So all summer month you are paying ahead of time, and if you drop they already have your money. So now comes first day of this year's class. It absolutely isn't working for our daughter. My husband says he would like to change to the one on one class, and Eileen totally back peddles on what she said before and says, Oh no, you have to pay a whole new membership to do the one on one class. He asks if the money we've already paid would go towards that. She says no, you've already paid for the group class and you would have to pay the full amount to switch and won't get reimbursed for the group class. AND HERE IS THE WORST PART. She asks to speak to my husband privately and says "From the bottom of my heart, I care about your daughter and I know you do too. I don't think you should discuss her lack of focus in front of her because her efforts might not feel validated." He told her that is NOT her place and has nothing to do with piano class and he'll take that as a suggestion. Meanwhile I hear this and I am furious that Eileen would have THE NERVE to tell us to parent OUR child. And to turn things around on us when she wants to charge us thousands of dollars in addition to what we've already paid, to do one on one classes that would actually be an environment where our daughter can focus. The owner is two faced. She will act as though she truly cares about your child succeeding in piano and guilt you to stay signed up. But all she cares about is money.
