The broth is always super flavorful, and the chicken was tender and packed with flavor. I love their shaggy dog sushi as well. The whole vibe of the place is relaxed, and it's a nice spot to just chill and enjoy a good meal, their staff is nice and super attentive. One of the first restaurants I came to eat at after starting a new job right down the street, because I nearly forgot this place existed for a couple years since I never visit this side of town anymore. For me, if a sushi restaurant has otoro on their menu, then it passes the authenticity test lol. I may not order it every time, but at least it convinces me they aren't serving low quality fish from the cheapest source possible. Tried the ramen, vegetable fried rice and banana tempura dessert. A great meal overall! The staff was very friendly and it was pretty quiet but filled up as the evening went by. They gave me the happy hour menu which I was surprised by since it was Saturday. I didn't have a taste for sushi or any of the appetizers, but you can't beat $4 sushi, so I will be back! The ramen was pretty good! It came out super hot but it was delicious. Got a little salty but overall it was delicious. My favorite was actually the vegetable fried rice. Probably one of the best I've had in houston so far! It had broccoli, carrots, onions, egg and zucchini. Also, the picture doesn't do it justice but it's a huge portion! I had a very disappointing experience. The worker displayed a nasty and rude attitude from the start and was extremely disrespectful. There was no professionalism or basic courtesy shown at all. What made it worse was being made to wait outside, even with children present, which is completely unacceptable. No one should be treated this way, especially families. Parking in this little shopping strip around lunch time is nearly impossible. It gets packed! It's a quaint little restaurant, they don't have a lot of seating but they make it work. They're always playing cheeky song covers. The waitresses are typically very nice and quick. I've been here many times, it's a good spot for a quick lunch. I wouldn't say it's the best sushi in town but it's pretty decent. I rarely sit in the restaurant. I usually place a lunch time order and pick up is ready within 15 minutes. Great place for Japanese cuisine. The unagi don and shoyu ramen were some of my favorite items from the menu. I love that they allow you to order alcoholic beverages to go, which they have a great variety of. I had the white peach-flavored Hana sake which tastes great, but they also have beers, red/white wines, and plum wines. Because they allow you to call them to place an order for delivery, I've never had an issue with my order taking longer than expected. It takes the longest time to make, but totally worth the wait to taste the sweet sweet cheek meat (it's not actually sweet, it's savory and succulent). Chicken hibachi fried rice $8 - This doesn't sound like anything special, but the rice is well seasoned and I can eat this as a meal. I'm so glad we found this place. We are craving sushi on a trip back home from Austin and found this gem. The reviews on yelp were promising. This place is tiny and gets full fast. I think it was 4 booths, and 4 takes off 4, and 1 or 2 takes for 2. The day is fast and took our order quickly. We were also served our soups and side salad pretty quick. But our sashimi orders took quite a long time. Once our orders were served we were pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes. But we quickly realized we ordered too much food. Sashimi salad, sashimi combo, Cajun sashimi app, and combo fried rice. All came with 1 miso soup, 1 onion soup, and 1 ginger side salad. My favorite surprise was the Onion soup which was full of mushroom flavor in a clear broth with crispy onion flakes. It felt so clean and nourishing. Our greeter and server was very sweet and helpful. Parking was super easy at 8pm on Saturday night. They have variety from ramen to hibachi dishes, fried rice and of course... sushi!, I think our family have tried it all! Sushi is already fresh and reasonable price. I've driven by this place a millon times and finally decided to try it. For some reason I had confused the pho restaurant at the end cap as this place so I kept putting it off. This restaurant is very small, and way better. Inside its homey and they now have about 8 tables of seating, along with 3 or so sushi bar spots. Their sushi bar is very tiny, and the night I visited they had 2 chefs working frantically. Like other yelpers state, they seem to manly focus on take-out service, but their dine-in service is good as well. Since it was my first time, I ordered a good selection of items, including the soon to be famous fois gras scallop sushi. Its a little pricy, but divine. I added the hamachi jalapeno app and the salmon carpaccio, both were good but the salmon dish was better. I tried the rest of raw fish as sashimi, fresh salmon, yellowtail belly, mackerel....although they cut the mackerel as thin as paper. I also tried the Tokyo roll, and it was okay but bland and I believe it needed some type of sweet sauce added to it. I still think this is a 4 star spot on a good night, but I rounded down due to: 1. Pricy during non-happy hour 2. They forgot to make my mackerel until the very end, and when it arrived it was cut thin like nigiri, not sashmi as I had ordered. 3. They were out of two items I wanted, uni and snapper yuzu. 4. Tokyo roll needs some help because its super bland. read more

On the last night of a business trip to Houston, I wanted to try another noodle place in Houston. Unfortunately that should've been the dish I avoided. I ordered a salad, spider hand roll and a nabeyaki udon. The salad and hand roll were amazing and got me excited for the udon. When my udon showed up I quickly questioned the use of broccoli, carrots and zucchini in the dish. If that wasn't bad, the egg was not soft boiled but just standard boiled egg. The broth lacked much dashi and or mirin and tasted like a generic Chinese dish. I have had nabeyaki udon in plenty of places (including Osaka and Shinjuku) and this one should've been called Chinese udon. Since it was a late dinner, I decided to finish my meal and get ready to leave. Then they offered me dessert so I went with the green tea ice cream. The good part was that it was free. The bad part is that the only thing green tea about the ice cream is the color: green. Couldn't even taste an ounce of matcha. Friendly staff that runs around quickly. This is one of the rare places I would want to come back because the hand roll was the star and I would be curious about the rest. read more

I hadn't been in a while and decided to go by. The last time I visited (Summer 2022/I think...I didn't do a review) there was still a really bad "fishy" smell when you first enter. When you smell that, it is not a good at all. We were seated quickly and were taken care of. Service was the only thing that deserved the stars Lunch special. I received a salad and miso soup. Salad was just an iceberg lettuce and (not a very good IMO) mayo type dressing. I prefer a ginger dressing with my salad. Miso/was ok. Edamame was good. Actual lunch. I ordered 2 pieces of yellow tail and octopus. I don't think they have us yellow tail. It wasn't even cream in color and tasted kinda off?!? Octopus was ok. The rolls were ok, too. The flavors were just not fresh today. I probably will not go here again only because of the constant "fishy" smell and this visit (and my last visit) that was "just ok." Sorry, guys!
