First timer: very small place, intimate in setting. Staff was a little slow however, friendly! We ordered a lot of different items. As for their sushi and sashimi, I would rate it as Par! Not high quality besides the specialty items (Uni, salmon belly, yellowtail belly) it was fresh but expected more for a large coastal city! They do have an extensive menu! Overall- I would recommend

I don't know what's the high ratings are for. Yes it's local and friendly, but the service takes a very long time, the sushi was very average, and the prices decent but for small amounts of food. Best thing I had was the salad dressing on my house salad. FYI, Inside, it's very small, just a couple tables. Overall, I think it's not on par with all the amazing Asian spots around Houston, but maybe it's solid for this area if you don't want to drive another 10-15 mins further.

I order take out from this place all the time when I'm craving a sushi night in since it's only 12 minutes away from me and had solid reviews. Grateful to say this place was my "last meal of 2024" because I definitely enjoyed it! I usually get handrolls from here, but this time around I had a few nigiri pieces and each one came with a nice slab of fish on top. Taste-wise, everything was great. The service has been good based off the 1x i've dined in. Good casual spot to have solid sushi

I rarely review for takeout/delivery (UberEats in this case) because I'm not getting the full experience. However, the sushi was tasty! Let's get into the deets: Sunomono Salad w/ Shrimp- Very light and refreshing. Minor complaint: the cucumber was unevenly sliced. Some were paper thin, some were thick. Baked Scallop Roll- Still warm when I received it. I enjoyed the spicy kick. Loved that they didn't skimp on the scallops. Foie Gras & Scallop Sushi- This was THEE star of the order! Divine richness melting in your mouth... MMmmM. If it wasn't 7.95 per piece (UberEats listed price), I'd order much more. Life's too short to eat basic weekday dinner!! Lol. Now I definitely have to stop in and get the real deal dining experience. Can't wait!

Tried the ramen, vegetable fried rice and banana tempura dessert. A great meal overall! The staff was very friendly and it was pretty quiet but filled up as the evening went by. They gave me the happy hour menu which I was surprised by since it was Saturday. I didn't have a taste for sushi or any of the appetizers, but you can't beat $4 sushi, so I will be back! The ramen was pretty good! It came out super hot but it was delicious. Got a little salty but overall it was delicious. My favorite was actually the vegetable fried rice. Probably one of the best I've had in houston so far! It had broccoli, carrots, onions, egg and zucchini. Also, the picture doesn't do it justice but it's a huge portion! Since it's in the shape of a bowl, it keeps it's heat so it stayed hotter longer. I decided to top it off with the banana tempura. Beautiful presentation! And the bananas and ice cream was delicious. This was a great choice for dinner.

Good food, small businesses always are a gem! This is our go to place for good quality sushi Shaggy dog is always. Hit ! Spicy tuna Whole scallop Spicy scallops Can't remember the last roll but it had Pepper tuna on top . Service is always delightful . Very kind and sweet people. Always attentive Ambience is always nice, never a moment it's not busy. It' can be loud but it's still nice. Can't blame that it's a small place.

Parking in this little shopping strip around lunch time is nearly impossible. It gets packed! It's a quaint little restaurant, they don't have a lot of seating but they make it work. They're always playing cheeky song covers. The waitresses are typically very nice and quick. I've been here many times, it's a good spot for a quick lunch. I wouldn't say it's the best sushi in town but it's pretty decent. I rarely sit in the restaurant. I usually place a lunch time order and pick up is ready within 15 minutes. I'd definitely recommend this place as a lunch time staple.

Wow! Ah-mazing sushi! I rarely come to this part of town, but am so glad I tried Kawa when I was in the area! The sushi was SO incredibly fresh, the service was amazing, and everything on the menu was reasonably priced. Don't be deterred by the location...humbly situated in a Jersey Village strip mall. Our order was absolutely perfect, and their timing of bringing appetizers then the main course was impeccable. Will definitely be back again!!

I thoroughly loved the food, and the service was on point. My only concern is how thoroughly I was rushed out the door the minute I "finished" my food. The hostess and servers were quite eager to see me out the door the minute I seemed to finish my food, and I at no point felt welcomed. Still, good food, if you're in a hurry.

Cute little sushi bar. Service was good and fast The soup and rolls where temperature appropriate and very fresh. The rice for the sushi kept falling apart(not a huge deal) but other then that everything thing was fantastic!

Flying V Harvest was fantastic. I drank that broth like I just came out of the Sahara. So good. The Impossible meat fusion is a funny add but a good protein bump. It was a few days ago but I think I'm still full from that ramen bowl. The vibe is modern high ceiling bumping music; my in-laws found it to be too loud. I think they are giving you an excuse to lean in and get a little closer to your companion. The vibe is chic yet also casual so bring whoever you want but this would work for date night. The font on the menus is squint inducing so do your research ahead of time or prepare to spend more time perusing the menu than usual, especially with the dim lighting. They offer thin or thick noodles and can mix some broth options to adjust spice level. Drinks- the smoked in front of your face whiskey is a treat and a show. Solid spot. No regrets. Salivating at the thought of the next visit.

Their ramen is flavorful and solid and their service is consistent. Parking: parking is free in the garage around the corner from JINYA. We went during the week and the garage was not packed. There's also paid street parking around the restaurant that you can find but look for signs to know when you have to pay and when you don't. Service: service here is very good. They have an army of waitresses and waiters who check on tables and we never had to ask for refills or never had to flag down someone. Our food came out in a timely manner. The one thing I will say about service is the appetizers we ordered came out right before our ramen so we had all of our food at one time which was a lot. I wish they would've spaced out the food timing a little more. Ambiance: JINYA has a modern interior and open concept. They have tables, booths, and 2 big community tables in the center of the restaurant. The restaurant playlist is hip and modern. The inside of the restaurant is dimly lit so if you have bad eyesight, get ready to use your flashlight to read the menu. Food: we ordered two ramens and the gyoza and edamame. Gyoza: these were fried well and had a gyoza sauce that came on the table. The wrapper was thin and they were not too oily. We would order this again. Edamame: this was typical edamame. Nothing too special. Would not get this again when we come back. Creamy Classic Tori-Paitian: this is a chicken ramen with wavy noodles that came with fried enoki mushrooms, chicken chasu, butter, spinach and a corn rib. This ramen was rich in flavor and had so many fun, delicious toppings. The corn run was grilled nicely and I wish I had more of them in my bowl. I'm a sucker for enoki mushrooms and this did not disappoint. I took the enoki mushrooms out of the ramen immediately so they didn't get soggy fast and that was the move if you want the mushrooms to stay crunchy. The chicken broth was rich and light which was a great combo. I finished this bowl to the last drop. JINYA Chicken Ramen: my girlfriend got the chicken ramen with a side of bamboo. Warning on the bamboo: the bamboo comes dressed in sesame oil and sole hot oil so they are a little spicy. The chicken ramen broth was once again rich with flavor and light. The chicken chase was good and this ramen comes with thin noodles instead of wavy noodles. Overall JINYA hits the spot when craving ramen or some hot soup on a cold day. The chicken broth is legit and I will be closing back to try the pork broth soon. My only qualm with JINYA is the price at over $17 per bowl of ramen. There are cheaper ramen places but JINYA flavor makes up for the priciness.

However, since crawfish season is one of my favorite times of the year, I had to come back to try their limited edition ramen. Just like my first visit, the staff were extremely friendly, the food came out incredibly quickly, and the overall experience felt comforting and welcoming. I ordered the seasonal bowl, The Crawmen, which came with crawfish tonkotsu broth, andouille sausage, bayou butter, corn, and peppers. While the bowl was clearly inspired by a crawfish boil, I felt like it could have leaned even further into those flavors with more crawfish and a stronger boil seasoning overall. The ramen was definitely delicious, but the broth did not quite have enough crawfish boil flavor to fully separate it from their standard tonkotsu ramen. At times, it mostly tasted like the original broth with andouille sausage added in. Even so, it was still an enjoyable bowl of ramen, though I would probably stick to one of their regular menu options over this seasonal special. My mom and I also shared the Karaage, which arrived very quickly while still being piping hot, crispy, and juicy inside. On the other hand, I would personally skip the Sakura Sweet Tea and Strawberry Yuzu Lemonade in the future since they mostly tasted like their regular counterparts without adding anything particularly unique. Overall, I still really enjoy the welcoming atmosphere and reliable quality of this place, especially the ramen and karaage. While the seasonal bowl did not fully live up to its concept for me, the experience itself was still enjoyable enough that I would gladly return again.

I liked that you can taste the truffle flavor without it being overpowering. Also liked that the broth itself wasn't as salty as some ramen places. They deserve 4.5 stars because come on it's 24/7 ramen. Parking is cool but limited. First impression walking in was that it has this really unique and dope vibe. I love the set up and it was giving spacious. There were cassette tapes aligned on the wall in the booth we sat in, which I thought was very creative. There was Anime characters above the doors when you first walk in, with Anime playing on the TVs at the bar. Oh yeah, THERES A FULL BAR if you ready to get your drink on. Now, off rip the host was annoying. She was kinda rushy and caught an attitude when we asked for a booth. We can't even describe the vibe she gave off fr. It was just BLEH. Our table was clean which is very important to us and our waitress Yasmin was kind and patient with our questions, and dietary substitutions. We ordered the Super Saiyan Nachos as an appetizer for $16. Maaann, these were so delicious!!!!! We actually substituted the pork for shiitake mushrooms and when I tell y'all we were surprised at the portion We both looked at each other like "YAAASSSSSS" Next came our Ramen orders which didn't take long at all. Not that we were counting because we were INDULGED in those nachos LOL Babii rated her Oxtail Ramen a '7/10' for $25. She would've preferred to get shiitake mushrooms because she particularly didn't like the fact that the Oxtails were shredded and not on the bone (which is what we both expected when reading it). She also would've liked if they gave her a spice option since she likes spicy ramen. Unfortunately, we had to purchase a nasty 'Kappa' sauce which was not worth the $1.50. To her the portion size was A1, however we paid for the meat so it wasn't worth the $25. Now, the Vegetable Garden to me was a '8.5/10' it was good, had amazing portion size and they were not lacking in the texture department. I mean, the spinach noodles were delish, vegetable cooked very Al dente. I cannot complain on that part. To me it was missing a bit of flavor, maybe salt would've done the trick. Overall though, it did have the flavor of the mushrooms which wasn't bad. Most importantly though, I felt light after consuming my meal. Therefore, I have to give it all a high rating.
