I ordered the ruben classic for $12, it was the worst sandwich I have ever had. It looked like they put 2 of the smaller sandwiches together. 3 pieces of bread very little meat, alot of sourkraut, and very little dressing. No ever came by after they delivered meal. Don't waste your money on this place. It's nothing like a NY Deli. I'm from NY and this is nothing close. I will never go there again. Big waste of money read more

I've been craving really good pastrami and chicken soup with matzo ball lately, and I was excited about finally trying Katz Express in the Woodlands area with a friend today. I had the Woody Allen (pastrami and corned beef on rye) with matzo ball soup and chips. My buddy had a reuben with the same sides. The matzo ball was mush and not very tasty, and the soup was bland. The sandwich was OK but not great, but the bread crust was tough. The chips were tasteless. My buddy said the same about his meal So I was very disappointed. I would have expected more from a deli with such a famous name. read more

I stopped in this morning around 8:45 am on the way to work to grab breakfast to go. This was my first time here. I ordered 2 Katz's a dillas, 2 coffees, and 2 ojs. My total came to $34 something. I thought that price sounded high. I asked the guy checking me out why the price was so high. He told me the food was $17 (made sense), oj was $5 (no problem), and coffee was $7 (overly priced), and he said he would give me a receipt when his manager got change because he didn't have access to the register. I used to be a waitress so I don't know why he couldn't print the receipt. Immediately I was trying to do the math in my head. How does $29 plus tax equal $34 something? I know it's just a couple of dollars, but something seemed off. His manager brought me my change and no receipt. I asked for my receipt again. He then brought out the coffee. It was 2 small to go black coffees for $7. I asked for them to take those off because they were way overpriced. The waiter said in snarky tone "I don't set the prices". I asked for my receipt again. The manager brought my receipt and refunded the $7 for the coffee. I looked at the receipt and noticed the few dollars I couldn't account for when I what was on my bill was 5% gratuity. Why couldn't he just tell me that when I asked the first time? I would have been fine with it. I would have tipped more. The way he handled the situation was very deceiving. He had a horrible attitude and I'm assuming the reason was because he didn't want me to know he added gratuity. It was only 5%, why not just say so? In conclusion, I will never go back there. The food was ok, service was quick, but the waiter had a bad attitude and was not transparent and honest with me. They need to reevaluate their prices, especially for cheap coffee, and service expectations. Also, it should be mandatory to give a receipt before payment. read more

Never Kloses. Cute line. The food was pretty good and lots of choices if you like a sammich. They have burgers too. We will be back.

Loved the huge Reuben sandwiches and homemade chips. I'll certainly be back!

This is basically a self-service operation. I loved the Katz's Deli in Austin so I was pleased to see a location in Houston. It is nothing like it-this is a Katz's Express...The Philly cheesesteak omelette with latkes was good but smaller than expected. When I asked to substitute the toast with extra veggies or fruit, the cashier (they don't have wait staff) told me there would be an up-charge. I ordered their red velvet cheesecake which was also small. The red velvet cake layers tasted stale. Wish I had gone to Hubbell & Hudson Kitchen Bistro... read more

Katz's used to be OK, never stellar, but they ruined it entirely with the recent renovation. Who puts a bar in a deli? The food was disgusting. Seriously, worse than a middle school cafeteria. I predict they will close soon. Just gross. read more

Both times I've been to this location I've had nothing but exceptional service. The staff is extremely friendly and my waitress, Haley, was wonderful! She helped me find something on the menu that would suit my taste and had numerous suggestions when I asked. Danielle was amazing as well. The managers always stopped by the table to see how things were, and I couldn't have left any more pleased. read more

This is the second time we found the sandwiches full of fat and gristle! We ordered corned beef and pastrami sandwiches. The pastrami was inedible. The corned beef was tough and tasteless. I find it hard to believe that a deli would serve such poor quality and at that price! If your specialty is sandwiches, I would think quality control or standards would be in place. When you pay $13.00 for a sandwich I don't think it's too much to expect quality. We will not be going back. read more

I was a little reluctant to try this place after seeing all the bad service reviews. I'm so glad I went. The food was fantastic - I had the half Reuben Klassic which came with one side. I chose the matzo ball soup. The Reuben was great, the flavors were perfect and the rye toast was not the least bit soggy or greasy. The soup was exactly as it should be. At $8.99 for lunch this was a great deal too. The service was very attentive, order taken quickly, drink refilled often and checked on to make sure the food was good. I will definitely come back. read more

Really nice after remodel. I enjoy not ordering in line, and the place never disappoints on the food. Super happy with it every time we go.

Miles our waiter was very good, the food was good. The number 6 cheese sandwich was a little cold and not sure where the cheese was, the sandwich my daughter ordered was delicious. They were apparently doing a training at the bar area almost where we were seated of the already employed people, very distracting, they were not dress for a company training especially the the girl bouncing around without her bra on. Will not be back. But our waiter Miles was terrific. read more

My visit today was the second time, I enjoyed my lunch but it took quite a while to get our food, we waited for a while....however they were busy. I will try again and hopefully today was a fluke. read more

I travel to Houston every week and I found this place my first time here. I love a good New York deli and to have found one in Houston, let alone this good, amazed me. The food is awesome. First trip I had a breakfast skillet and it was one of the best I ever had. Second trip I had a reuban and let me tell you that if you are REALLY hungry they have just the size for you. They also come in sizes for those that want to save room for dessert. Speaking of which the key lime pie is delicious. The third time in I again had the reuben but also had a potato knish and it was cooked to a perfect golden brown. The other thing I like about this place is despite that I have only been in three times (always late in the evening) the staff remembers who I am AND Nick even remembered what I ordered the last time. That is EXCELLENT service. Katz's will be a staple for me over the next few months while my job has me there. read more

First, lose the metal plates. Second, some slaw and lemons at the condiment area would be nice. A couple tweaks and this place could be good. read more

I can not say enough about the matzo ball soup. It is tremendous! It is my standard order when I go there w my family! It goes fantastic w the homemade, perfectly seasoned, spicy potato chips! Also try the stuffed cabbage rolls-just like mom used to make! They are amazing! The best comfort food around! read more

We heard about the Grand Re-opening this week, and took our kids for dinner. Food was great. Service was A+. Fried pickles were a great appetizer, and we all enjoyed the entrees. I highly recommend the Yankee Pot Roast. The 7 Layer chocolate cake left everyone's sweet tooth satisfied. The remodel was impressive as the restaurant feels very clean, open, and modern, I love the new bar area too. My kids got to watch the Rockets and Astros while we ate. I would recommend you check this place out. read more

Tried to buy a gift card online for a friend's birthday. Website has a box to click "gift card" but it doesn't go anywhere. Called the store and manager said that store doesn't do gift cards online - only in store. This is 2019. How hard is it to maintain your website? Super annoying! read more

I really wanted to like this restaurant, but ' I ended up having mixed feelings on this establishment. The dining area is clean , our seating area was fine and our waiter was nice but seemed sheepish and confused. I had to clarify my order a couple of times with him. So to the point, my family ordered they're food and they said it was fine. My order however was a disaster.. I'm not to familiar with east Coast cuisine, I have no idea what nosh sauce is and nor do I like sourkrout. So I played it safe with a hamburger "medium" with fries. So we get our food everything looks great until I start eating. My simple order came with a super well done hockey puck and half cooked fries. I understand that mistakes happen ' but as I looked around the place was only 35% full of customers. So I figured just send the burger back, eat the half cooked fries. "Which is what I did" Generally at restaurants I do not have them remake my food' I politely tell the manager or waiter no thanks. If the chef/cook cannot execute a simple order' I'm not going to chance fate a second time. Overall our experience was average. Note to staff: we can see and hear you behind that little wall by the bar' especially since you sat us directly across from it. You might want to tone it down and no I don't want to repeat what we heard. read more

food wasnt bad, just not the best for the portion plus prices. definitely wasn't presentable

I stopped at the Woodlands location on Sunday 4/14/2019 at around 1:00 P.M. with my sister. We originally were going to take it to go, but, there was seating available, we decided to eat at the restaurant. We waited approximately 15 minutes for someone to take our order, I tried on numerous times to get anyone to help us to no avail. On the way out, i tapped the manager, who was ignoring me, to remember my name, because I would be contacting management about what had happened. Ethan then went crazy because I had tapped him on the shoulder, started yelling at me , continuing out of the restaurant to my car. Are you kidding me, you wont serve me and your manager yells at me from the restaurant to the car, I hope Ethan is fired tomorrow. No one deserves to go out for a casual meal and deal with level of crap read more

I love a good Ruben sandwich and this place makes one. Be sure to only get the small sandwich if you do not want to take it home or if you are not Sharing. Large portions. Fresh, flavorable and quick. Never have had a long wait, even during busiest times of the day. read more

We usually eat at the Westheimer location, but we decided to try the Conroe (Woodlands) deli this time. My son loved the photo booth at the front of the restaurant. everyone was very friendly and the ruben sandwiches were DELICIOUS!!! even have a lo-cal menu...bonus! read more

Our families first visit to the Woodlands location last Saturday, and we were anticipating a fantastic experience, but we were disappointed. The young lady taking our order at the counter spoke so softly, she was barely understandable with the noise coming from the adjoining kitchen. Our order ended up missing several items, and one item we ordered was overlooked entirely. The young man that brought our food to the table was clueless. The biggest joke was the order of onion rings for over three dollars came on a small plate, with a total of 7 very small onion rings. I had asked to speak with the manager, who never came by our table. I will have to assume that the manager was a gentleman that was expediting food at the window, who knows? A cup of coffee was ordered with our meal and there was no on the self-serve counter. Once again I brought this to the staffs attention, thinking that they would offer to bring a cup to the table when is was ready, but no one ever mentioned a word. The food was good, desserts were even better (I suspect they were not made by Ktaz), overall customer serve was a failure. read more

So disappointed. This was by far the worst hoagie sandwich I have ever had. Not sure anyone could pick this up and eat it. It was a salad on a soggy piece of French bread. Will not be back read more

I had only eaten at Katz's once before and that was years ago at a catered party. I don't remember the food being very memorable. Someone recently told me Katz's has the best Reuben's, so I stopped in today to get an order to go. I didn't look at the menu (BIG mistake) because I already knew what I was ordering - 2 Classic Reuben sandwiches and 2 orders of onion rings. When the guy told me how much I owed, I almost fainted. It was $40.00!! For 2 SANDWICHES and onion rings. T. W. O. Ridiculous. They tasted ok, but certainly not worth $40. The only reason I gave 2 Stars was because the guy was very nice and the service was fast. I won't be back, tho. No sandwich lunch is worth that. read more

I am not sure how this place continues to get customers when people like Mikki are working here. She is very rude and has bad customer service skills. 10/10 recommend a new job and/or retraining. read more

I went here this morning and found out that this deli had gone to table service. Long story short, it sucked. I have been a customer here for several years and I always liked how I could walk in and order at the counter and the excellent food was delivered quickly to the table. Today the service was slow and inattentive and it took 30 minutes for the food to get to the table. The overall quality of the food was nowhere near what I have experienced in the past. I was told that the owner decided to stay open 24 hours/day and he thought table service was the way to go. He was wrong. I won't be back. read more

Really good happy hour - Ruben sliders / cabbage rolls are excellent. Draft beer selection is good - service is OK

Food was good but nothing like I expected! Service was excellent and I really can't complain. Nothing special for me.

Went here to get the foot long hot dog, the hot dog was lost in the bun, not very attractive to say the least and I got a potato salad and a beverage and it was almost S12.00!!! And not very friendly people. read more

so I ordered the meatloaf and mashed potatoes last wed and it was by far the best meatloaf I have ever had. even better than what I make! I loved it so much I ordered it again today. and it was like night and day. maybe it was a different cook but it was so dry and tasted like it was a few days old. the mashed potatoes were super bland and a little under cooked. whereas last week the had amazing flavor and were very creamy. I love you guys and plan on coming back but I though id bring this to your attention. :) read more

First time visiting would have given it 5 stars but our waitress brought out my husband's cheesesteak and said the kitchen forgot to make his fries. They finally arrived when he had one bite left of his sandwich at that point he told her forget it he already was done. She then asked if he wanted a refill since she didn't ask soon. They weren't busy I think she had 2 tables. Service sucked. Cheesesteak was very fresh and good. read more

I wanted to really like this place - 2 adults and 3 kids (10,11,12) = 155.00. Service was slow, and we had to ask constantly for drink refills. In summary - less than average food, way overpriced, plus 18% gratuity was conveniently included for poor service. read more

First off, I would like to say that I love Katz's Deli and have spent many nights at the Montrose location. I was in the area and stopped by this location. No one greeted me, not even the hostess I walked by to go to the to go counter. There is no one behind the to go counter but there are staff in the area next to it. No one says anything to me for 3-4 minutes. Then a girl walks past me to go around behind the to go counter and does something and as an after thought turns around to me and asks if I've been helped. I told her that I hadn't and no one has said a single word to me. She says someone will be around. A guys walks up and there is a conversation between the two about the whereabouts of the guy who is supposed to be working the to go counter and he reluctantly takes my order. The guy who was supposed to be working the to go counter finally walks up and they start a personal conversation. I have a seat to wait on my order. I wanted to add to my order and walked back to the to go counter to do so. At this point no one was back there (again). I stand there waiting another 4-5 minutes with no one acknowledging me. I tell the guy who had been at the server's window the entire time that I wanted to add to my order and he says someone will come. Another 3-4 minutes pass and finally someone (different than any of the previous persons) walks up and asks if they can help me. I cancelled my order and left. The place wasn't that busy and the staff seemed more like they were at social Hour rather than work. I completely understand a little socializing while at work but you have to take care of the customers. I also experienced a lack of attentiveness the first/last time I was at this location. The Montrose location is definitely better at taking care of it's customers. read more
