I'm not Jewish. Now ,I have eaten at many Jewish deli's. My friend and I were seated right away . I missed our waiters name but he was very good. I always ask questions about what I've read on reviews b4 going to eat at a place I've been to and enjoyed. I only consider reviews from this year and the last few months from the year b4. This is not New York. I ordered the klassic Rubin after asking about the extra slice of bread I read about. That was explained to me....that is only on the largest Rubin. I do not agree it is necessary to hold it all together. Stop putting all the extra sour krat on the sandwiches. One thin layer is the norm . That said, I enjoyed the taste & seasoning of the cabbage. It was not slaw! I started with the stuffed cabbage and it was as good as I remember. I would prefer the cabbage cooked more, but that's my taste. Remember this is Texas! The death by chocolate is to die for ,so to speak. My friend had the skinny French dip and a huge piece of carrot cake. She was very happy with her meal. Please go have a delightful Texas deli meal, I think Katz's is worth it. read more

We have been going to this location for over ten years. We walked in and headed to the counter and it was gone! We were informed there would be table service. Not happy. We were seated in very uncomfortable plastic chairs and handed huge menus. My wife ordered matzo ball soup and I ordered a sandwich. My wife's soup arrived and literally half of the broth was on the tray. They used to have a help yourself bar for pickles, gone. You now have to pay extra for chips with your meal. All in all we were so disappointed in the changes and to be honest the ability to go up to order, pay, and choose our own seat fits us and our style. Please go back to the way it has been and we'll come back. I did express my opinion with the manager so this review should not come as a surprise. We went back to see if things have improved. Sadly they haven't. Really sad to lose one of our favorite stops in the woodland. read more

We saw Katz advertised so much on TV so we thought we would give it a try. Very disappointed. We went around 2:00 so it was not busy. Service was slow. I saw my food sitting in the window for 5 minutes before it was picked up. I ordered a Philly cheesesteak and believe me it was NOT a Philly cheesesteak. The potato salad had no taste. I had to ask for a refill on my diet coke which came back as a regular coke. Will never go back. Jason's Deli is much better. read more

Love Katz's as the quality of their food is superb. Clean, fast and efficient. Great atmosphere too!

Date night/ lunch date with my husband... everything was wonderful. Our server Ben was OUTSTANDING!

My husband and I had lunch here a few weeks ago for the first time, and I would not recommend anyone to eat here. We both had pastrami sandwiches and it was plain, cheap dry white bread, even though I asked for Sourdough, and no butter on the bread. For the price of their meals, they should have better quality bread and options for their sandwiches. Definitely not impressed.! read more

It is extremely clean. The food selection is great. It is more than a corner side deli. My servers were wonderful. I had the meat loaf. Only reason I rated as a four star was my wife makes a pretty mean meatloaf and it is hard to live up to. The creamed spinach was good. I am a huge fan of the breakfast stout. The buried hatchet stout was decent, but not my favorite at this facility. Oh and did I mention service was GREAT! read more

I walked in here for the first time a little before noon to have lunch on my own. The hostess wanted to seat me at either the bar or a "high table." As a 5'0" human being, I literally have to climb up those "high" style chairs and did not want to struggle with that so I asked for a regular table or booth. The hostess then proceeded to look around and told me I would have to wait for one of those, even though I saw several were open. I left after this--if I was treated like this before I even sat down, I don't even want to know what the service would have been like had I stayed. read more

2 words - Cheesecake Shake..cmon 5 stars in itself !!!!! ok few more words..the reuben is always damn good and pot roast sammich!!!!! read more

Sandwich was good. Staff was nice and friendly. The restaurant could use some updating. The chairs with the cushions against the walls have some rips and are torn. Their menu is more than sandwiches and burgers. read more

Have not been there for a while so we thought we would enjoy the food with takeout. We were very disappointed...The au jus for the beef sandwich tasted like something out of a package gross I had it before there years ago and loved it. The pickles were so sour they were not the ones they used to have. No mustard on my husbands corned beef he requested and to top that all off they charged us a 3.50 take out charge...REALLY. They must be hurting but we won't be going back. Disappointed Customer! read more

The best place to get a real NY style deli sandwich in the 'burbs - I love the matzo ball soup - hearty and full of flavor. Woody Allen is one of favorites and I love the homemade chips. I think the prices are fantastic for the amount of food you get and the quality of meat is terrific. read more

Love the decor in this place. And the Deli foods yummy too. Cheescake Shake is amazing, and the sandwiches are tops. Fried Pickes GREAT!!, but the nicest thing here is the Matzo Ball soup. Just perfect on days like today. I'm sure places in New York City aren't really this nice! read more

Kind of an odd concept with the "sit-down" restaurant meets deli food offerings but it works! The Katz original sandwich was piled high with corned beef and very tasty. Nice extra touches from warmed/fresh chips to fresh pickles were noticeably a difference maker! Service was good and prices were a bit high but nothing outrageous. read more

Last year this was a cool self service deli, now it has changed into a sit down resteraunt. The food is great, but a bit pricy for what you get. The cool NY deli feel is gone, I liked it better the old way. read more

Great environment our server dani was very informative and an awesome server will definatley be coming back

Great food and service our server dani was awesome we will defiantly be coming back to see her highly recommend this place

Worst service ever! Ordered water, given only one glass of it and no refills for either of us. Had to ask for pickles and slaw, which is standard upon being seated. Rick asked for no onions on his sandwich and it came loaded with red onions, ordered our sandwiches and 2 sides of Mac salad. After asking for it a second time, we were told that they only had enough for 1 order, but still presented our bill with the Mac salads included. i asked for a second packet of mayo which never arrived. i waived to summon the manager and although he acknowledged me he never came over but sent his assistant instead. She apologized but it was not very sincere. Our waiter never came back to check on us and needless to say no tip was warranted nor given. We have been here numerous times and not sure we'll ever go back to this location again read more

Cheese Cake can only be eaten RIGHT here...made the New York way...breakfasts are excellent and the Ruben is truly king ....great enviornment read more

I often get takeout from Katz's. The meatloaf is great. The milw high chocolate cake is awesome.

Walked in to place a to go order... stood there several minutes and finally a manager looking guy walked up and asked if I had been helped. I replied "No" to which he said "just a minute " and walked off. Never saw him again. Restaurant was not very busy, wait staff was standing and chatting. Finally went out and called the number on the to go sign outside and told them I was there wanting to place an order. i had been waiting 5-10 minutes by this time. Per their request I came back inside and same chatting wait staff took my order. It was 45.00 for 2 sandwiches, 1 order of fries and 2 sodas. The fries were cold and both sandwiches were cold with cheese congealed. (Both were hot sandwiches- an open faced roast beef with provolone and a Monte Cristo). The Monte Cristo was disgusting and soggy. I was looking to eat anything but fast food... but seriously McDonalds would have been better. I should have left after initial poor service but had memories of the sandwiches downtown.Between the horrible service and inedible food I am shocked this place is still open. Don't eat at the Woodlands Katz! read more

It is really nice to have a good deli in this part of town with east coast quality sandwiches. I love the reubens, and cheese cake milk shake. Homemade chips, good pickles, Good quality meats. My kids like the footlong hotbdogs. They are a foot. read more

Portion sizes are ridiculous for the price they charge! We are a family of four and it cost us $55. That got us 4 sandwiches and 3 drinks (1 water). It's crazy expensive I gotta tell ya! The food was good, not great and certainly not worth this price. read more

I'm only giving this a star because it was open on Christmas Day. We sat at the bar for ten minutes before anyone even noticed we were there to give us a menu. It took another 15 minutes for anyone to take our order. The staff were too busy fooling around with each other and talking to their friends. The matzo ball soup was luke-warm at best and my Reuben tasted like it came from Arby's. The waiter forget to ring in my chips too. The place was dirty too. With tables not being bused for an extended time and people were waiting forever firbtables read more

Wow - either Katz's deli has really gone downhill or my tastes have changed. Let me start off by saying I grew up on the East Coast so I know what a Philly Cheesesteak sub is supposed to look like and taste like. I ordered one here and maybe they have come up with some weird Tex Mex version, but really for a "New York style deli" it was totally unacceptable. Firstly the ratio of meat/cheese to bun was off - this barely had any meat/cheese in it for the size roll. Secondly, the cheese used had some orange cheese - again, wrong. Finally, while Philly Cheesesteaks are supposed to be bit greasy, the grease shouldn't be colored or be so much that the bread that is there just saturated with it. I did give Katz's two stars as my husbands meatball sub and daughters french dip looked at least edible and they said it wasn't bad. read more

The first time I came here with my parents and had a great experience, other than the other customer who sad and literally watched me eat the entire time, but that's not the restaurants fault so I can't be upset with them about that. However, I told my fiancé about how great the food was so he ordered take out for dinner, well they left out our sides, and my milk shake, and to top it all off, I threw up after eating half sandwich..(this was about 2 weeks ago). We decided to try it again last night and absolutely were not impressed, I came with my parents, sister, brother and fiancé, not only was literally every wrong, when we told someone about it they got a huge attitude. We paid over $100 for the food, that was hardly warm, terrible service, and again creepy people who watch us eat. Will not be coming back here. read more

This is the worst! I stopped in for a quick bite one evening. It was approximately twenty minutes to closing. I have never been treated so ugly and given obvious signs that I was delaying the staffs leaving in my life....and I've had a very long life. I only wish this treatment would have started BEFORE I paid for my meal so I could have gone some place else! My food was not to Katz's normal standards that I have always enjoyed. My sandwich was dry and burnt, like eating crisp styrofoam. So disappointing. When I went to refill my drink the staff had shut down the drink fountain and threw out the tea. Wow, really? They could have 1) waited till ALL customers were gone or 2) at least give us a heads up they were going to close everything down so we could have gotten refills first. We 'were not' the only customers still trying to enjoy our meal and went for lost refills. The manager needs to brush up on his management skills for allowing and supporting this to happen not to mention he was lacking in his hospitality skills that evening. He and staff began stacking chairs on tables while people were still trying to enjoy their dinner. I am very disappointed to now Katz's standards have dropped so low. I have always enjoyed their dinning experience, but with all the new restaurants and delis I'm sure there is something new out there that will give me a warm welcome feeling and appreciated my patronage. Besides isn't it the customers that keep these places up and running? Katz, I have one more question. Does closing time mean you may come in and be waited on up till that cutoff or does it mean you need to be out of the premises by that time??? I always thought it meant a place takes their last guest up till that time and the last guest can expect the same friendly service, high quality food and welcoming hospitality as the first guest did and the staff know their leave time varies by the flow of people. I know time changes the way businesses operate but I must have not gotten that memo!!!! read more

This place is very good! They had a big selection of deli foods. I do wish they had more gluten free options for the appetizers!

I'm not from the area but decided to try this place out while visiting some friends. We just wanted to go somewhere to get drinks and desert and we luckily had a really nice and informative waitress named Haley. She explained all of our drink questions, even though it was a very busy night. We couldn't decide so she suggested we try the cheese cake shake and now we are obsessed and make special trips to Conroe just for that dessert! Every time we go back we are in hopes to have her as our waitress again! Would definitely recommend coming here! read more

Great Kosher food! Open 24 hours, has the best French dip around. Only issue is it is somewhat expensive for the amount you get. Definitely go if you enjoy any classic subs! read more

Well call me spoiled but this is nothing like the pastrami I'm used to. First the Rye bread it's homemade but not very good. The pastrami is tough and nothing like the Katz's in New York City. When I found it I was excited but it left me disappointed and wanting to go back home. I think Brian should go spend a little time in New York and learn how to cure he pastrami. I only had the pastrami so I can't say the rest of the food isn't good. They must be doing something right there where people in there eating at 1am. read more

Worst food ever. Management was rude and did not care about our complaints . I will never go back there again.

We always enjoy Katz's since there are so few delis in Houston We came in right before closing time but Brett the manager could not have been nicer Enjoyed the matzoh ball soup and chicken salad fruit plate Just the ticket for late night dining Thanks again Brett read more

If this review were based solely on the homemade chips, it'd be 5 stars. I had the Philly cheesesteak and chips. The Philly cheesesteak was just okay. We asked for sweet tea and were handed glasses, only to discover once we got to the self-serve drink station that they only had UNsweetened tea. This is the south, people. When I go into a restaurant that doesn't have sweet tea, I feel instantly betrayed. The employees ringing up orders should definitely be clearer about the tea option. Anyway, the chips were good enough that we may go back and give it another shot later. read more

Well let me start by saying im from New York. I know what a real Ruben tastes like. It was the most disgusting sandwich i ever had & wasn't even close. Maybe i should have gone in the kitchen to show them how its done. I was a cook in N.Y. for 12 years, so i will never go back again unless i want to vomit on purpose read more

Came back for more delicious pastrami and corn beef sandwiches. Consistent tasty food and friendly, great service.

Since I had Katz in New York, I thought to try the one here. I was not disappointed. The food's delicious, the server was funny and informative, and the portions were huge! I'll definitely go back. read more

This location just had a reopening and they changed things around. They upgraded the booths, added a bar area and updated their menu. The pros: They have maintained their excellent customer service. Everyone is really nice and it stands out. The cons: The ridiculous size of the menus. They are about 30" tall. It's comical. We are used to going about once a week and had gotten used to the brooklyn breakfast for 7.99 and you get to pick 3 items all day long. This new menu only serves that "broadway" breakfast until 11am. We arrived at 1130 so we were stuck having to pick out a more expensive version of the same items. Our ticket is usually under $20 dollars with coffee. We skipped on the coffee today and it was still significantly more. $27 not including tip. Overall the food and service is good but I didn't like the higher prices and it has a weird vibe. Missing the old Katz. read more

Went there on Valentines day with my dad (Late review I just kept putting it off.) Had a great experience!! We were greeted with smiles, and everyone was so kind. Danielle was our server, and she was very attentive and helped us out with the menu. Will be back!! read more
