We ate there for Brunch and the staff/food were excellent. My wallet also fell out of my pocket and one of the servers found it and turned it in to the lost and found. I called Eric, one of the (Managers) who was very honest and returned my wallet with everything in check. I will be coming back because the people at this location are very honest. Thanks again read more

Called ahead to order. Once we arrived we waited over 30 minute. When they brought the food to the car it was not my order. Some how my order was lost. The waiter took the incorrect order (that my family had open each container) back inside behind the counter. I cant say they served it, but why else take it to the back. Waited another 10 minutes for a refund. No food and an hour lost!!! Not a word from the manager. Not sure why I have to give them 1 star!!! read more

Meh...ridiculously expensive and mediocre service but at least the Monte Cristo Sandwich was awful! It was 2 pieces of barely warm French toast with some meat and a fried egg between - all for nearly $15 bucks! No sides - just a small sandwich. A real Monte Cristo is battered and deep friend with powdered sugar on top. This didn't even come close! The iced tea was very weak too. Last time there. read more

went to Katz and the food was great a bit pricey but that's NYC. My complaint is that when I was checking out I grabbed some bags of pickles that were by the check out to take home with me and some young guy behind the counter said to me condescendingly, you know you have to pay for that. Yes I understand that, but why did this person even need to say that. I paid 20 for a sandwich, you don't think I can afford the pickle. Totally disrespectful and uncalled for. I won't bring race in to this but hummmm. I didn't try to slide them in my pocke, I put them right next to the counter. I will never go there again from the disrespect that was shown. Very ignorant service checking out and uncalled for. read more

Ate here with my dad two months ago. Sat down at 11 am and looked at the menu because it had been a long while since I had been in to Katz's. The server was patient and attentive. The food was delicious and HUGE. I was dying for pastrami so it was a no brainer for me. Great execution and worth the price. read more

Ordered the stuffed cabbage for takeout. The order was ready a few minutes after I arrived. The servings are huge. Great tasting, moist and fresh. Everything worked out very well. read more

My daughter & 2 friends ate there tonight. Terrible service (one of them works elsewhere as a server) and no willingness to make things right (called & the server and GM lied...said they gave them free stuff, but their receipts show otherwise). This place has been declining for awhile, and this just sealed the deal that we won't be back. Too many other options around to settle for mediocre food and awful service. This is how businesses go under. read more

Extremely overpriced for a small amount of food. Drinks and side items each sold separately. Had to wait about 15 mins for a booth as the empty tables were not being used due to only having two waiters. Appreciate those that came to work today and service the people wanting to eat but the prices are just too high for the quality and amount of food you get. The greeter lady displayed a bad demeanor and never smiled. As a manager myself, I can understand the struggles of being short staffed but damn, smile and at least show your appreciation to the customers and thank them for their patience and understanding. All she did was look like she didn't want to be there. read more

This used to be a top-notch place but it has gone downhill. The server appeared unconcerned and seemed quite bored with her job as if we were in her way. The cooks made my sandwich and according to the server left it to sit for quite some time while the rest of the entrées were being prepared. The result was just no bueno. Manager didn't seem all that concerned either. Based on this experience, I think I'll seek other options in the area rather than visit this location again. read more

Good eats for the old Kosher Deli experiance. I usually have lox on a bagel and the lox is always good. If you like a very good and hearty corned beef sandwich this is the place to get it! read more

Ummmm no. Never again. First of all, I ordered 2 philly cheesesteaks because i used to live downtown and i was addicted to them. Additionally, I specifically asked for extra mayo. "Sure! No problem!" Was the reply. Well, after driving 32 min from N. Houston to their Woodlands location im told my total is $45! No, i didnt order drinks or dessert. I ordered two philly cheesesteaks. Okay fine, they are good not $19 good but i was already there and 32 min invested lol. I get home to First find out THERES NO MAYO! Not on my sandwiches or in my bag. SMH for $19 i surely assumed id have fries, or chips or at least a pickle with my sandwiches. NOPE! Not even a napkin! The picture ive attached is EXACTLY what $45 got me. Never again. Might I suggest the westheimer crew/management take over the woodlands for a week or two. Because im certain i never paid $19 for a philly when i lived downtown and it most certainly aways came with slaw and a pickle. These two arent even good. They taste like I made them myself ------psssssss im not a cook by any means. So disappointed. I want the hour round trip drive time out of my life back. read more

Katz's - Two $19 mayoless philly cheesesteaks period nothing more not even a napkin! - Delis Near Me - Shenandoah, Texas

I have been going to Katz Deli in the Woodlands for over a decade. Was always a place for good quality food. Sandwiches are top notch. Every entrée I ever tried. Delicious. We don't go all the time mainly because they managed to mess up my wife's orders the last three times and she was not keen to go - note they did fix anything we asked with a smile. This time, underwhelmed. One of my daughters ordered chickenstrips from the kids menu. She is a connoisseur. What we received was obviously frozen and so bad she would not eat them. The fries the same and we ordered two but got one. The onion rings tasted the same even if they weren't. Did not look homemade for sure. My open faced roast beef sandwich looked unappetizing and was maybe OK. Not $15 OK. Sweetener for tea - no blue ones or pink ones. I can decide what I put in my tea, I do not need someone else dictating what I put into it. Katz Meow sandwich was good as always and eggs benedict with salmon was good. Too costly a place to only be halfway satisfied. Saw the owner walk in. If I saw him when I was leaving I would have said something. Sad to have an expensive OK experience at a place I use to think was top notch. read more

We order tonight through Uber eats, and we're very diso that The Philly cheesesteak was made of ground beef!? Plain, unseasoned ground beef.

Well I feel like the universe is back in alignment. I was a faithful Katz's customer in Austin for 25 years when Mark Katz was alive and operating it. Many times while eating there Mark would come by the table and make sure we were enjoying ourselves and had what we needed. I have had such a wonderful remembrance of my time in Austin at Katz's deli and was devastated when they closed the Austin store. I didn't know there was a Katz's in Houston and for the last 10 years and I have been going without while living in San Antonio. I was SOOOOOO excited to find out it was here in Houston and looked forward to being reunited with the Reuben sandwich and Stuffed Potato. I went to the Westheimer location and Iwas transported back to Austin/New York with my Rueben (Size: New York), two (2) cheese stuffed potatoes, and 2 WONDERFUL Mexican Margaritas. It was heaven. The food is piled high, (see pics), potatoes were hot and the drinks were cold. The wait staff was attentive and the decor was truly New York subway. It was AMAZING. The Westheimer location is the REAL Katz's diner of old. A big thanks to Barry Katz (The Owner)l I really appreciate that attention to customer service. You can ignore any bad reviews of this location as it's probably someone who just doesn't get it. Katz's is a life style not just a place to eat. If you want a real slice of New York Jewish deli you've got to try it. People that have one bad experience should remember that one visit does not a restaurant make. Sometimes you do have to try it again to see what it's really made of. Barry, to you I must say GOOD JOB SIR!! You have carried well, the tradition started by your father. read more

I've eaten at Katz before and had pleasant experiences. Went on Christmas Day. Even though they offer breakfast anytime, on holidays it's "dinner only". Decided to go with Yankee Pot Roast plate. It was a small plate with seemingly very little meat and potatoes -- mostly carrots. After I received my plate, I inquired with manager about normal portion size of the item and he said "3 ounces of meat and 1 ounce of potatoes". Before I ordered I asked same question to the server he said "it's a good amount". I recommended they disclose portion size on menu to avoid customers having to guess at portion size. Probably won't go back to visit again anytime soon. read more

I love Katz's deli. The food is great. Sometimes service is considered slower but that's because it's not fast food. It's a restaurant made to leisurely enjoy yourself, having good food and good conversation. That's want a good delicatessen is about. The only drawback for me is that it's arguably expensive for my budget. I'd eat here much more often if it was cheaper or it had a happy hour with reduced prices on food. read more

I ordered through Uber eats. The food was cold and order was wrong. Additionally the food was terrible. I couldn't even eat the food and ended up throwing it away. I ordered brisket tacos. I got 3 flower tortillas thrown in a container with a couple slices of rubbery brisket some scrambled eggs and cheese. They failed to include any pico or salsa or anything to go with the breakfast tacos. I then ordered a time square which was either made Completely wrong or I was given the wrong food. The sandwich was soggy. I ended up throwing it away as well. read more

Have not been to Katz's in years decided to go for lunch, big mistake. Service was poor, VERY SLOW . Would NOT recommend if you only have an hour to eat. We happened to have a little over an hour the day we went and ran over which never happens to us. They were slow getting to the table to take our order and slow getting back to us to check us out.. Since i hadn't been in years I didn't realize there are no salad options on the menu.. uugghhh Will not be going back.. read more

this should actually be minus 5 stars.....I went to the location in The Woodlands, Tx last night with my family. There were four of us. I have never been so disappointed with a meal including the other 3 in my family at any other restaurant before..........We Paid $90.00 (this included the tip, the Server was okay). There was no flavor in anything that we were trying to eat. We had 2 Reubens, one with Corn beef and the other had pastrami...My Daughter had a French Dip Sandwich and our Friend that we took with us had a hot dog with peppers. None of these meals had any flavor........I could have saved our money and gone to U Haul and bought a Card Board Box and served it to my family and it probably would have tasted better....We did order a appetizer of Potato Skins that came to our table and looked like they had been baked 3 times.......NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

I will say that the wait staff was amazing. Even with Covid and all the tech issues of not having menus and needing a phone with service to order. The staff was able to help us as first time visitors to pick a good solid menu item and the gentleman was fantastic with checking in. The lox was okay, we have lived in NYC and Jersey and it was a common deli item and we were not disappointed. But as far as it goes the portions were a bit smaller than expected as far as the fish goes but it was actually a lot better than your avg bagel. read more

Stopped in here for lunch with a co-worker. We wanted to try something different in The Woodlands area. I have to admit I wasn't impressed. I ordered a specialty burger and he ordered the "turkey and ham sandwich". What he got was a turkey ham sandwich. Admittedly, he read the menu wrong. That little "and" word was missing on the menu. Katz's Deli doesn't serve pork according to our server so he received a turkey that tastes and looks like ham. I don't know about you but when I order turkey, I want it to taste like turkey. Now that I think about it, I remember seeing bacon as an item on the menu for one of the burgers. I wonder if it is real bacon, aka pork? I digress. I ordered my burger with sweet potato fries. I received regular fries. I didn't send it back. I just ate the regular potato wedge fries. The burger was average at best, probably a little worse than average. The replacement sandwich with real turkey looked average as well. I didn't taste my co-workers food (that would be weird) but I can tell you he wasn't overly impressed. They also cater but after our experience today, I doubt if we use them for catering anytime soon. Oh, our bill for these two items along with a single glass of tea was $31.00. Yes, you read that correctly. Bottom line: Average food at best with higher-than-they-should-be prices. I would suggest you keep looking for somewhere else to eat. Bon appétit. read more

We USED to come here all the time never had a problem until today. The "manager" was rude when trying to explain to me why my daughters eggs were taking so long after they insisted they were coming twice then told us that they wouldn't be coming at all. My husband got the salmon Benedict and his over easy eggs came out over hard. So I don't see why they couldn't do an hard boiled egg since they already sent us out two! read more

Got a cup of chili. It was dry and cold. There was no juice. Manager offered to warm it up in the microwave and make sure it had more juice.. Brought it back, no juice just dry hamburger meat with taco seasoning. He says "sorry that is the way we make it". He offered to put tomato sauce in it if I wanted. Friend ordered the French dip and the dip sauce was cold with grease floating on top. No one was smiling. Wait staff was gruff, had to flag down the waiter to get our ticket. read more

Not impressed with my first visit. Ordered two sandwiches to learn after the fact that they had run out of one or more component. The third choice was disappointing especially for the price point. Breakfast served cold. Coffee refill, tardy. In their defense the Mgr. made it right. Training is clearly in needed.

We had a great lunch at Katz's. Our server, Yong, was amazing and gave us great recommendations as well! Highly recommend!

When we arrived to eat lunch - brunch. The hostess told us that there was a 20-25 minute wait because the kitchen was overwhelmed with to-go orders. There were 4 empty tables and she refused to seat us. This was our first and last visit. The hostess was rude and couldn't care less about customers. read more

Got our food home... there was no au jus with my French dip and there was no world famous gravy with the fried chicken. The home fries are yucky.. its almost like breakfast potatoes but mixed with sautéed onions and the cheese stuffed potato is okay. Fried chicken is good. French dip is okay but basic especially without au jus that's just a crime. Don't recommend overall and way too expensive for what it is. read more

Was told tHey had remodeled and improved. Hmmm. I was talked into giving it another try. My expectations weren't very high. And they still managed to screw it up! We are fairly regular customers to this location and this is our first time here since the conversion to 24 hours and full service. As usual, the food was good, though they forgot my husband's pickle on his entrée...BUT our waitress, Juliette, was very quick to fix the situation. In fact, she was very nice and helpful when we needed her. And very friendly. We will miss the more casual atmosphere of the old Katz & the self-serve pickles and drinks, but understand things must change with the times. AND I WAS ABLE TO GET A KID'S MENU WITH NO PROBLEM!!!! I must say. I've heard so many good things about this place. I even met Barry at another restaurant, he was surprised I'd never eaten there.... So, I got their world famous Rueben sandwich. Gosh...it was a sandwich that consisted of un-edible gristle and tendon? Whatever it was...I couldn't chew through it and I ended up tossing the sandwich in the bin. I ordered fries as well, and they mistaking my fave me chips... Really enjoyed my date night here with my husband. It was our first time there and the vibe you get when you walk in is a little retro but also very New York Deli. The menus we got are the size of a small child(huge). Also there are 100+ different things to order from hot deli sandwiches to full meals and don't get me talking about the cheesecake . Ok do get me talking about it, it was so so good. I got the strawberry cheesecake and I enjoyed every single bite. The Graham cracker crust was soft and buttery and the strawberry glaze just was an added bonus to a stellar dessert. We left having had two burgers two drinks and a cheesecake for about $40 bucks excluding tip. Well worth the visit and anyone looking for a quality deli should come here read more
