Visited Easter Sunday with the family, ordered an empire BBQ burger (medium). Staff and manager very friendly - cook was heavy handed and gave me a heavily burnt burger. Manager took it off my bill but with so many choices, not likely to eat there again. read more

I don't have any complaints about the food. It was good. What I do have a complaint about is particular to The Woodlands location. The server, Kelsey, wasn't attentive at all. She took our drink order but then completely forgot to take our food order. We waited quite a while and we finally had to get her attention so she'd come take it. Getting drink refills was just as difficult. I had never been to a Katz Deli so I was excited to go. Then, at the end of our meal, she didn't even want to give me a receipt! She said they were trying to save paper. I have never been to any restaurant that wouldn't give you a receipt! I don't ever pay until I review the receipt to make sure it's correct. She did, however, give me a receipt after I insisted. I then noticed that there was 18% gratuity automatically added to the bill! We were a party of five. Needless to say I wasn't happy with that nor did I add an additional tip. Ask for a receipt when you go here and check it! Long story short, I recommend them for the food but not the server, Kelsey. read more

I'm not sure what's going on with some of the recent negative reviews, but they're not accurate. My family of three ate a large meal at Katz's that included a Reuben for me, shared blintzes, eggs, pancakes, and a cinnamon roll for my kids, drinks all around, plus two black & white cookies to go, all for $55 including the tip (20%) which I selected. The menu is large, the food is delicious, the service is good, and the prices are totally in line with what you would expect to pay for a restaurant meal. read more

Food took forever to come out. I ordered a waffle sandwich but the eggs were so dry. Waiter was rude, bad customer service. While checking out, they didn't mention the tip and only ask you to sign the payment. Will never come back here! read more

I ordered for lunch sitting outside in the patio the 11.99 cornbeff, cold slaw and Russian dressing. I asked the water to remove the corn beef and put hot lean pastrami plus slice of America cheese. My wife ordered a chicken salad sandwich. We both ordered soft drinks. The service was very slow on a very slow day for the restaurant. Here is the bottom line: Our bill for what we ordered was $42.67 plus a $6.00 tip for the waiter. Total $48.00 plus for an 11.99 sandwich and $9.95 for my wife's chicken salad sandwich. You do the math. We where crosley over charged with no prior warning or when received the bill. Lastly the rye bread that they switched to from there way too small Jewish rye was awful and had no resemblance to Jewish rye. I received 1 piece of America cheese and hardy any Russian dressing. My wife's chicken salad sandwich was a very lousy egg salad sprinkled with a tiny amount if chicken. We have over the years tried Katz's and each time where terribly disappointed. My recommendation is to stay away go into Houston for a fabulous Jewish deli experience at Lenny's and Ziggys at Post Oak. The drive is worth it. There used to be a Victor's on 1960 great Jewish deli but sold out to a Chinese couple and the food went to shit. The original Victor's was and is in the Sandfernando Valley California. But that is an extremely long trip for deli. Lol... read more

My family has been eating at Katz's since they first opened in Austin decades ago. We went to the Katz's here in the Woodlands. For 4 sandwiches and two appetizers (fried pickles and jalapeño poppers) with soft drinks, our total came out to an astounding $152.00. That's a ridiculous amount to pay at a deli for 4 sandwiches and 2 appetizers. Our sandwiches were even slimmed down, compared to our past orders. Our family decided that was our last trip to Katz's. The sandwiches were decent, but not for that price. read more

I have such fond memories of going to Katz's in Austin when I was in college almost twenty years ago. I was so excited to see the Woodlands had a location when we passed through that I had to stop, and I have to say, the food hasn't changed a bit...and that's a good thing! I missed their kountry klub with that Russian dressing and big old pickle on the side. Now if Dallas would just get one I'd be a happy girl! read more

This place used to be good but not anymore. We ordered breakfast plates with turkey ham, they didnt bring the turkey ham, we told them about it and then they brought cold turkey ham, its supposed to be hot. My wife asked for bagel with butter and jelly and mentioned it twice when ordering, no jelly came with the bagel and the bagel was cold. Poor food and service , we will not return read more

Katz was a last minute to go stop for us and it worked out nicely. They were sandwiches and be sure to order the homemade chips (made to order). The staff was friendly and helped make our to go plates as fast as they could. read more

Stopped for takeout on the way from League City to Lake Conroe. I love deli's. There. I said it. Jewish, Italian, American. Doesn't matter. Love. Them. Katz' has always been a favorite of mine. We are blessed to have solid New York City Jewish Deli connections here in H Town. Great selection on the menu. Starting with breakfast all day. Or craving Matzo ball soup, or maybe a delicious Woody Allen or Times Square sandwich. Service was attentive, fast, and accurate. This team checks all the boxes. Later at lake Conroe my son and I enjoyed my Hot Pastrami on rye, with spicy mustard and Swiss cheese (fantastic); and my son had the Times Square club. He can be a picky eater, and told his sister how great the experience and food was. They have four different sizes of sandwich to choose from, according to ones appetite. All in all the Katz family are a family of mensch's providing their families recipes and attention to high quality ingredients, and most of all, Happy Full Tummies! Truly great Deli read more

Phil was very helpful with the menu and made several recommendations and I chose one. The tuna melt was very delicious I did order with a side of veggies. As a starter we ordered the fried pickles as those are my favorite appetizer. I do agree with some of the other posts about the value for the money, but I i have been to this location several times with excellent service and food quality. read more

What a great time we had reading the huge menu! Literally it's physically huge! We split a Hero Pastrami with fries and a local beer. Very flavorful sandwich, bread was slightly toasted and the cheese was melted to perfection, I just wish I could have eaten more! I like that they carry local craft beer and one of our favorites Buried Hatchet Stout from Southern Star in Conroe. They would have received 5 stars if the service was faster, oh well maybe next time. read more

Only Jewish deli close by. The food's good. The service is good. The prices are okay, too. And they are open all the time--24/7. What irks me is this: The rye is small--maybe 2/3 to 1/2 the size of Jewish rye available just about anywhere else. So the meat is stacked high. Even an average amount makes the sandwich stand high. Just came back from Philly, where they make sandwiches with normal sized bread and a more generous amount of meat--and guess what? I can get my mouth around it! read more

Always a great sandwich but lunch is the best time to go as sandwiches are huge and you get a side for 9.99. The pastrami is awesome!!!

The food was great but the Manager Jim was very unprofessional. He was groping a young lady the whole time we were there. He not once came to the table to ask how we were or how was our food but I observed him talking to every other customer in the restaurant. The stares that we got were very very very uncomfortable. I will not be going back to this location. Reagan's service was impeccable. read more

I have heard this place advertise so much and I left highly disappointed. I expected delicious food! We were dining in a group of 4. We ordered the broadway burger, turkey and beef bacon sandwiches, broccoli cheese soup, chili cheese fries and a cup of chili. The burger was brought out incorrectly with out all the ingredients. The turkey sandwich was ok, pretty basic other Delis are definitely better. They give you a pickle on the side the size of my thumb! Broccoli soup had NO BROCCOLI. The chili cheese on top of the fries was awesome but once you get the layer with the chili and cheese off the fries are so bland. No flavor not even salt. The chili was great, the flavor was delicious, finally! I give 2 stars because of presentation only. The place looks great and it is clean. The food looks appealing but again it was all presentation for me. read more

The food here is pretty good! However the business model needs to be a counter service similar to pot belly. Not sure why but if I'm eating a sandwich and chips I'd rather order it at a counter and seat myself. Please allow a removal of an item. It's very clear that you slather cheaper produce to cover up the fact that the main entree is lacking. We ordered a lox and bagel plate. Bagels were horrible, and we got an extremely small amount of lox. read more

Horrible service, not so great food! We went for a late lunch on a Monday afternoon. Our server, Amber, was rude and very condescending. My husband wanted a pastrami sandwich and asked for the toppings to be lettuce, tomato, mayo, mustard and pickles like a normal sandwich and her reply was "normal here is with nothing on it", unnecessary comment. I ordered the patty melt with "nosh sauce" and a side of onion rings with ranch dressing. My husband also ordered onion rings with a side of ranch dressing. While waiting for our order we overheard Amber saying she was "running around like a chicken with their head cut off" A) That is her job and B} it wasn't even busy, there were three tables with customers (there would have been four but one couple walked out after asking for menus and waited ten minutes without any so they left). None of the tables were bussed and a gentleman who I presume was the manager had to ask her to bus tables which she did not do. It took her 10 minutes to get the customer sitting behind us a cookie!! I noticed our order in the pickup window after about 20 minutes of waiting so was watching to see if she saw it. She walked past it three times in about ten minutes without doing anything except chatting with a co-worker. When she did bring the order, my husband got fries instead of onion rings and no side of ranch. When we mentioned it, she argued and had to look up our order again to verify then saw she messed up and said she'd get the rings and ranch. When she brought it back she said they were sitting right next to the fries and she just grabbed the wrong one {okay?}. My patty melt was so greasy that it had soaked the bottom piece of bread so badly that when I picked it up it fell apart. There was no nosh sauce and the hamburger was unevenly done, part medium and part raw and the bread was stale {wouldn't cut easily even with a steak knife) I basically couldn't eat any of it. The onion rings however, were quite good. After my husband had finished she came to clear his plate and said she'd be right back. After another 15 to 20 minutes she hadn't been back and we had to ask for the check (so the gentleman behind us). She brought the machine that you use to pay at the table and proceeded to explain how it works like we were children (it's a pretty basic piece of equipment). It goes without saying we wont be back. Oh...and they were out of corned beef, fried pickles and potato chips. How does a restaurant run out of the basics on a Monday afternoon? read more

Since the last time we visited, it's become a table service restaurant. Before, you could order at the counter and get your food pretty quickly after. While the prices have always been high, you could count on decent food with pickles as a side and the ability to refill your drinks as needed. To be clear, this place is no Kenny & Ziggy's but for a 24 hour joint, it is acceptable. Today, we ordered and waited 40 minutes for my pea soup and potato pancakes, my spouse's omelet which came out cold and grilled cheese. Sent the omelette back because the filling was refrigerator cold. Got one refill of cold coffee and were delivered the wrong side order. Also no pickles. We will skip this in the future. read more

My family and I dined in hoping it was like the one on Montrose.it was not. The positive was the sandwiches we had were ok. Dry but ok. Service was not good. Never got a refuel on drinks til it was time for us to leave. They were not busy at all. Then we wanted to send our meal with desserts. Kids liked there cheesecakes but my wife and I shared the cheesecake milkshake. Now we are used to the one on Montrose Square you get a big glass of the milkshake and if I bring you the silver canister but the rest of us in. That's what you would expect for a $10 shake. We got a small glass not worth $10. Then for our family of 6 got charged the gratuity. I could understand if we had a 10 top but for a family of six I've never been charged the gratuity at 18%. It was not worth it. Even with bad service I would always get 15%, but that would be up to me. They didn't even give me a choice. Will not go back. read more

As a former employee there is roaches crawling everywhere and meat left out all day room temp. Enjoy!

Ordered the fried chicken, it's boneless, mine was okay, some parts were too dry, maybe burnt to the point they got dry, some thicker parts of the fried parts weren't cooked all the way so the mix was still wet and sticky, the gravy served with it was a bit too liquidy for my taste. Also had the mashed potatoes which were okay nothing to scream about. Overall I could've saved my $20 and eaten something else. read more

Kind of dead in here for a Saturday night, but OK, not every place can be hoppin'. I am a fan of Katz's in general. We don't have much of this type of food in the H-town, especially in the 'burbs. Anyway, this place handles much of the same goodies as the regular location. Actually, I'm not sure what the difference is. You can get your soup, you can get your sandwich, you can get the meatloaf. All fantastic. I am a long time of their matzo ball soup and this place makes it just as tasty as I remember. I like the food here, the service is generally good and friendly. It is a dependable stop for some comfort food, for sure. read more

My mom and I visited here for lunch today after a long day of shopping! The owner was working the kitchen and roaming the restaurant so I knew the food would be top notch this time..which it was! I got the Express Phili. Cheesesteak. SO HOT AND SO GOOD. It is the smallest sandwich you can get, but still big enough where you can't finish it! My mom got the French Dip and said it was amazing! The service was also amazing. The young kid (forgot to catch his name) but he was running the food, did a wonderful job! Great people skills. Love this place. And the unlimited pickles you get just tops it off! Yum! read more

Unlike the mothership on Westheimer, Katz's Express does close, but at least they're open until 10 on weekend nights and they do serve breakfast all day. Sometimes you want an omelette at 9:00 at night, and it was delish, along with the bagel and latkes that came with it. The other thing that's Express here is you order at the counter and pour your own drinks and get your own pickles. They bring your order to the table. While we were there at an off-peak time and they didn't have a huge staff on hand, service was good, prompt, and friendly. I'd come back. read more

We went in and placed a to go order at 4:45pm. Simple pesto shrimp sandwich, ordered with the manager in charge at that time I guess. She left and we sat on the bench waiting for our name to be called or just to be recognized by the wait staff or the new male manager in charge. After 30 minutes of waiting I get up and attempted to get some attention. Waiter came and I asked for my meal that had been sitting on the counter for over 20 minutes. I took my food and left, otherwise I would have made a very ugly seen. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION!! read more

Pretty good Jewish deli for a far out suburb in the south. Just passable if compared to the northeast inner cities. Why? They use all corporate processed meats, while Hebrew National. Since one can't get this at supermarkets here, I go here 1-3 times a year for deli fix. Quality can be highly variable. A couple of times Mr. Katz from TV commercials in store and quality excellent. Meat properly sliced, hot and gently layered on bread. As opposed to thick slices cold to luke warm smashed in a lump in center of bread that can occur when he's not there. I stick to the basic pastrami or corned beef. The Ruben is awful. Jewish rye bread is usually fresh and excellent. They make their own chips a bit too brown for me but others in my family love them. Best thing is the pickles from the help yourself barrel. Love the Cole slaw as it has classic sweet and sour dressing (unlike Kenny & Ziggy's). But like sandwich quality varies from nicely shredded and properly dressed to thickly cut either swimming in dressing or naked. Potato pancakes are passable. Small silver dollar sized with a more puréed texture as opposed to shredded. Usually freshly fried and not greasy (note I said usually as quality does vary). Not sure if they still serve breakfast tried it five times and gave up. Bagels not authentic and corned beef hash not really hash and no poached eggs to top them had to go with fried. Once Another Broken Egg opened in same strip mall no reason to keep coming back here for breakfast. This is a quick service style restaurant where you place your order at counter pay and food is delivered to your table. You get your own drinks and silverware. Menu smaller than Katz in Montrose. I never have tried cheesecake. Looks too overly commercially processed in display cases like Cheesecake Factory but I could be wrong in my snapb Just an update. They are now a sit down restaurant open 24 hours with same full menu as downtown. Also Coleslaw now complimentary. They have cut portion sizes of sandwiches to lower prices plus chips now extra. All in all, my family likes ALL of the changes, even smaller portion size options( grossly large NYC sized still available to those who want to pay up. 1/2 NYC meat portioned deli sandwich offered at lunch only. Hell of a deal for meat lovers and bread avoiders). read more

I've been here many times before. They revamped. Everything. My fav fried pickles are so expensive, but come in a huge portion to share. My all time sammich is Pastrami on Rye. My sandwich was barely toasted. My husband said the same about his. No more ordering at the back. You'll be seated and have a waiter. Which for us, on this particular we never saw.
