I purchased a key for my Toyota Prius on the internet and contacted Katz to program it. They came to my house and attempted the programming, but were unsuccessful, saying my key was defective. So I agreed to order a new key from Katz. When the new key arrived, they were again unable to program the key, now saying I had to supply them with a working key so they could code the new one. They already knew I didn't have a working key! Ended up going to the dealer who programmed my internet key Katz said was defective! On top of all this, the dealer charged less than Katz would have charged. read more

Amazing service!!! Don was quick to respond and showed up on time. Originally I wanted a new lock on my door but after explaining to me I just needed to tighten the lock up it would be just fine. He removed the lock and reapplied it, tighten the screws and did some work on my panel so my door would not slam. Not only was he professional and explained everything he did, but he did it free of charge. That's right, free of charge. He stated that he's day was over and he didn't have to do much all he was doing tightening things up. It took him about 15 minute and he was done with the job. Even sent a follow up message to make sure I was satisfied with the companies services and left a card explained all the other handy things they do. I'll definitely be using them again. The true test of a great business is how they respond if something goes wrong. We had an issue with one of our new security cameras (not their fault) and Don and Gabe made sure the problem was dealt with quickly and that we were totally happy with the result. Due to the star reviews, I was hoping a great experience, but that did not happen for me. I'm taking name off of person and expressing my experience. I made an appointment over the phone on Wed for a Fri 9am site visit and quote. When I gave them my address and they couldn't find it on their computer. Since our home is new, I told them to look at GoogleMaps, and repeated address again. They still couldn't find it. I told them to repeat address back to me and it was wrong. I repeated address again and they found it on their map. We made plans for visit and hung up. Friday at 9am, no sign of them. Waited until 940am and no sign of them. I decided to give them a courtesy call to ask them what happen. The guy said that they showed up and my daughter said I was asleep. I said "what!...I have been outside cutting the grass. What do you mean you showed up? I've been outside". He said he knocked on door and daughter said I was asleep. He repeated the address back to me and house number was wrong and only single digits off mine. After repeating my address to them multiple times, they still got it wrong. But I first called bullshit that they showed up since I was outside all morning and I would have seen them due to their address only being single digits off mine. I also asked why didn't they call me. They said sorry, their mistake, and to call them again. Nope!! Not calling back! Ain't gonna happen. Pissed because they just wasted my time waiting for them. read more

I then called about 7 locksmiths in the area and none of them could make it for me. Finally right before giving up and going to the dealer I found Katz's online and they gave me a way reasonable quote. I didn't think they would actually do it for that price since I had worked so hard to find someone who could make this specific key and they were going to come out to me. But to my surprise, they did come out within 30 minutes, charged me exactly what they told me over the phone and were so quick to make the key. They obviously know their job down to the core. We had an emergency situation, as we were selling our home in San Antonio Heights. Our front door lock was broken and not locking. So, I'm a disabled vet, and I was just at Ralph's with my service dog, and I accidentally locked my keys in my trunk like an idiot while loading a cart full of frozen groceries I had just bought. I don't have AAA, and there was literally no one around who I could call, and my ice cream was quickly melting next to my keys. Someone also shopping at Ralph's happened to have a wire coat hangar in their car, and offered those to me, so I went to work trying to fish the door handle open with the hangar like a slim jim. About 30 minutes and a lot of sweat in, a gentleman working for Katz Locks & Keys pulled into the spot next to me, and when he realized what I was doing, asked if I needed some help. Within 60 seconds, he had pumped my door away from the frame with a small air bladder, and reached in and unlocked the car with a long rod. I had just spent all of my money shopping in Ralph's and had nothing to give him. He thanked me for my military service and told me not to worry about it. I felt I owed it to him and this company to leave a good Yelp review for something so pay-it-forward. I consider myself very lucky to have crossed paths with this gentleman. I was glad that I found Katz on Yelp when I was locked out from my house. I lost my keys and I just moved into this new place in Rancho Cucamonga. I didn't know where to find a locksmith. So I searched on Yelp and found Katz locksmith. Don came over to rescue me. Since I lost my keys he couldn't rekey the lock so I think just in time to change all my front door locks. He did the front door locks so I finally got into my house and after 20 mins, I have new front door locks. Next day he came over again to change other locks as well. My wife recently got locked out of the house. She called Gabe at Kat's lock and key and had someone out very quickly. Unfortunately some damage occurred to the door while trying to gain entry. I called Gabe and voiced my concerns. He came out first thing Monday morning to look at the damage. He accepted full responsibility and repaired the door back to normal. This says a lot about his character and integrity. These days it is extremely hard to find a company that accepts responsibility for their mistakes.
