I hesitated to call this store based off the reviews I read. However, I decided to give this store the benefit of the doubt and figured maybe previous interactions people experienced had to do with bad days/etc. However the male that answered the phone was extremely rude and then hung up on me. Awful service!!! Racist encounter. READ BELOW: I came to pick up my uhaul truck and followed the instructions for 24/7 hour service. I went into the truck looking for the keys as the instructions said, and the man stormed towards me, screaming and pointing at me to remove myself from the truck as if I was trying to steal it. (I am a black woman, 26 years old) Afterwards, I didn't even get an apology. And on top of it all, his rage caused me to cry. By the way, I didn't get my furniture pads.... I had to go out of my way to go back to the place to get my pads. Fast forward: I called customer service to tell them about my awful encounter. Customer service then calls the company to discuss the issue.... let me share that I did not share with customer service my assumptions that this was race based discrimination. Customer service comes back on the phone and shares with me that they said that I pointed the man out for being white and that I called them racist...... I never did. And customer service wasn't aware of my race until that moment. ABSOLUTELY racist against blacks here. I wouldn't give them my service or money. So so so so disgusting. read more

My 1st experience was good. However, when the man is working there which is most of the time. He is very rude. His customer service is horrible. But, my animals love the feed so I have to keep going back. I walked into the office and he rudly asked me what do I want. I was taken back by the lack of customer service from a older gentlemen who is running a customer service based business. I polity said good morning and told him what I needed. He again, rudely told me the price, and told me to get it my self. It was very unnecessary and if and when I find a seller that has the same kind of feed, I will definitely go there to buy. I told a friend about the feed store and he had about the same experience. He called told me he's not going back. I had been here before and the young gentleman was very nice as was the lady who checked me out. I came here today to purchase some additional nesting boxes. Once I located them, I heard a gentleman ask, "What do you need?" I replied that I was looking for some nesting boxes and before I could ask how much they were, he said I don't have any! I put the nesting box back (they had three) and began to walk out when I saw him. He must be Carl. Tall guy. I just proceeded to walk out thinking he was having a bad day. Went there to get a lead rope and the gentleman assisting me was very kind. I asked him about his opinion and knowledge on equine joint supplements which he gladly gave as well. He was friendly and easy to talk to. Perhaps some of the bad reviews are based on "city dwellers" expecting the fake overly friendly greetings we get in Houston as opposed to the normal "country side" relaxed attitude? I wouldn't even give one star but had to in order to leave a comment. Super RUDE people! Have had many encounters where I would call and ask a question only to be left with a short reply. Then today my daughter and her Dad went to pick up the brand of shavings that we buy from them. Only to be asked what school she went to. Then the owner proceeded to refuse to sell us the shavings. He stated that he is tired of all these "other" feed stores are not ordering shavings and then we come out and wipe him out. Then that leaves none for his people. Basically, our money is no good to him. We have spent a decent chunk of money on shavings and supplements at this store. No more!! Both owners rude as hell & act like you're below them when it comes to feed. I hate going here alone to purchase feed for my lamb because I'll always get looked at wrong or talked down on. They're extremely expensive and won't let you walk around alone to look at things, the older "gentleman" will follow you around like a puppy and try to put in his two cents, even if you don't even ask for help. Owner took the time to tell me why I am having difficulty in finding a product (Remedy Ultra), and to tell me that similar products (GrazonNext HL and PastureGard HL) are restricted. Although he did not have the product I needed, Remedy Ultra, he took the time to made suggestions of where I could find it. This is a good company with the right attitude-- to help the customer. I purchased 2 chickens from this establishment. They said they were already sexed, meaning only females. After months of caring for them and expensive feeding, they were both roosters. I called them to let them know. The man on the phone gave me a "tough luck" attitude. They could have at least offered to refund me the measly $10(even though it won't cover the food and feeders purchased from their business which was total of around $50). In the end I lost time and money, was given a bad attitude toward the problem and now I have to find a home for two dominant (and loud) roosters. (When chickens are sexes they are done by professionals that are experienced. Yes, once in a blue moon a male will slip by, but to have both turn out to be roosters is uncalled for. It means they either didn't check or put inexperienced people to sex them.) read more

He got very short with me, his longstanding customer. SO RUDE. I have been buying feed from this business for over a year now and I will NOT be going back. Yesterday, my daughter went seeking help from this establishment. The owner, refused her service becuase we do not purchase all of our items there. They unfortunately do not sell the feed that our steer is on and all she wanted was suggestions on a good supplement. This place was the absolute worst I've ever been to first of all the lady at the counter was extremely rude I asked if they were hiring and she said "no we are not and we don't need you here" and then she told me to stop touching things, when I was just shopping around. Very unfriendly and outright rude! They refused to sell us the medicine we were trying to buy, per our FFA advisor, and said the advisors are wrong. After asking what school we were from, proceeded to go on a rant about how tired they are of students not buying all of their supplies from them and basically kicked us out! I first met Katy Feed when I returned a U-Haul. Very nice and friendly staff. I now go there for dog treats and accessories. They also have a mobile get at their facility every third weekend monthly. We have been buying all our FFA needs from this family owned store for 4 years now. The owners are knowledgeable and happy to take time to discuss exactly what you need. Unlike some other places we checked out, they don't try to up sell you on super expensive supplements or items you do not need. Have never gone up there to find something we needed was out of stock. First off I have always gone to them for help with all of my animals I have had over the years and with out hesitation gotten the supplements they suggest for my animal. I went in yesterday looking for help on my steer and he proceeded to ask what kind of feed I fed and I answered "Purina"(just a feed I prefer to use) well he responded " why don't you go as th for help" I then told him "I have always come to y'all for help?" And he said "what school do you go to" so I told him... And he responds with " I'm not helping you anymore and I'm not selling to you, you can go to your other feed store and get help I'm sick of helping people who don't buy from here and I don't what to here your ag teachers b*tch about how I help you" I grabbed my keys on shock said well okay and walked out.
