The shop opens at 7AM and I was told I could bring her by anytime before 10AM. The location is really close to my home and easy to spot from the street. Look for the building that say Dog Training in big white letters across the front. Very close to the intersection of West Little York and Queenston next to a small tire shop. Upon walking in I was really amazed at the fact that it doesn't smell or look like your typical dog groomers. It is extremely clean.. modern and minimal in design. Thankfully no pets running around or waiting in the front to be picked up like some places. Prices are listed by size/weight on the counter and shows included services. I opted for an all inclusive package that includes bath, nails, glad expression and teeth for $20 bucks for my 8lb chihuahua. I brought her shot records when I arrive and they made a copy. I also had to fill out a brief info sheet with my information for them to keep on hand. Mia was a little nervous as usual but I got the vibe that they were dog people and caring so I trusted them with my baby. I appreciate that they called to verify if I wanted them to cut her whiskers before they did it. I declined because she's never had them trimmed and I think she looks cute with them the way they are. Like a little catfish lol! 1 hour later they called to let me know she was ready for pick up. Her nails were done really well (low & even) and she smells super fresh. I think this will be our go-to Groomer going forward. They also do Dog Training, Daycare and overnight Boarding. I might consider those services in the future. Like I said I'm impressed and I would definitely recommend them to anyone who wants quality pet care.

Mayde Creek's building is so fancy that I was convinced I was in the wrong place til I saw the receptionist. Tall ceilings, marble tile floors, columns outside, a mini courtyard, the whole shebang. Dr. Melody Palmer was very pleasant to chat with and said that I impressed her with my hedgehog husbandry knowledge (I then heard her go to the back and tell the vet techs back there that I knew my stuff, THEN go to the front and say the same thing- MAJOR EGO BOOST. This appointment was months ago at this point and I'm STILL preening from the compliment.) She made sure I knew everything I needed to know and was more than willing to give in depth explanations if needed. Everybody there was really friendly and since my Delilah was very curious and well behaved the appointment went by very very quickly. I did not wait long at all to begin even though I was 20 minutes early. I'm very happy with my decision to use Mayde Creek and I'm glad I didn't have to go all the way up to Spring for the other exotic vet I was looking at. (Pet pic tax attached)

However, and this matters to me, they are willing to listen to the owner of the animals and agree to reasonable requests. Sadly one of our beloved pets had reached the point where their pain was incurable. They made her final moments as, as possible, and allow me to grieve on my own. plus Jennifer is awesome and amazing and wonderful!

I bathe my dog regularly and do all kinds of stuff in order to leave her clean and never have I ever seen or heard of my dog misbehaving or even screaming during these sessions. We just got a notice saying she was constantly screaming when in reality we know she would never do that unless someone is trying to hurt her. I gave this review one star and wish I could give it ZERO stars!!! That is because throughout my…read morewhole time working there, I've had continuous issues with Valeria Alvarez. She is a team lead who acts as if she is a manager. She acts as a self appointed manager even though that isn't her role nor job. She does not know how to speak to people, she is very verbally aggressive and was constantly antagonizing me and other coworkers. One of the run ins that I had with her was, right before I quit I had gotten sick (due to frequent changes in weather), and was trying to call in because of that fact. She informed me that I had to have a doctor's note to be able to call out. The issue with that is that we only get paid $10/hr and doctor visits are very expensive. It doesn't make sense to have to provide a doctor's note for a call-out because of me being sick. Especially because before that timeframe, it was failed to be communicated with me that it is a requirement to provide a doctor's note for a call-out due to me being under the weather. Not to mention that for all the work that we do, $10/hr is not a livable wage especially in this economy. Valería is the reason that I quit working here at Canine Country Club. She made it a very hostile work environment and spoke to me and other coworkers poorly and in a disrespectful manner often with no repercussions. She has had multiple instances of snapping at employees, belittling them, gossiping to people that she's close with and walking away from people while a conversation is actively being had. It should also be known that she has been put on leave previously for the same exact behavior and was allowed to come back as if nothing happened. I didn't report her behavior towards me because, I was scared of possible retaliation and the fear of my situation not being taken seriously. With all that being said, I think that Valería Alvarez treats her job as if it's an obligation and not a privilege. She should not be able to continue to treat people this way with no repercussions. The fact that she was even allowed back in the first place AFTER the first time as if nothing happened is repulsive and disturbing.

I spoke with Henry, the owner, when I called to schedule an appointment and he was very friendly and professional. He took his time to answer all of my questions before I committed to an appointment. When I checked in, the team member was so sweet and knowledgeable. I had a few more questions about my second pup who has high anxiety and she explained that we could bring him in on a quiet day to do a behavior consult to let him feel out the room, the people, and some of the tools to see how he does before proceeding with an appointment. As promised, I received a text message when Ellie was about 15 min away from being ready. Upon pick up, Stacy, her groomer, was so sweet and she mentioned some personality traits that she picked up about Ellie and it showed that she was patient and took the time to understand her and help her feel comfortable versus "just getting the job done as fast as possible". And Ellie looks absolutely so wonderful and feels so soft! Thank you all so much for taking such great care of Ellie! I look forward to scheduling a visit for my second pup soon!

We sent her to Shelley and Martin for a 3 week inboard training. They kicked Balashi out after a week saying she was untrainable.
