Strawberry yakult
Sam B.

#120 in my Teaholic Diaries. I was checking out the toffee confectionery across the street and wanted to get something to drink before heading home. Yelp helped direct me to Katsubo, and 60 seconds later I was there. Haha. I wasn't actually in the mood for milk tea so I ended up ordering their strawberry yakult. I love that they offer the option of adding extra yakult for more of that distinct tangy flavor I love, so of course that's what I did. The creamy vanilla and tart lime flavors in yakult paired well with the strawberry, and overall it was a pretty refreshing treat in the afternoon heat. ****************** My Ratings: 1 Star: Terrible; just thinking about it makes me angry. 2 Stars: Wasn't a fan so Not likely to return. 3 Stars: Meh. Average. Might return if others drag me. 4 Stars: Yum! Likely to return. 5 Stars: Amazing! Would plan my day around it.

Order came very fast, we ordered avocado zen and the strawberry Yakult, boba is soft, there was only one staff but he is fast. Place is small, no restroom and needs more lighting.

Located at the town center near Albertsons, there were plenty of parking spaces. You could order with a staff or at the self-service kiosk. There is limited indoor seating so it feels like it's geared more towards takeout. While there wasn't anything particularly memorable, the tea was good and everything went smoothly overall.

Loved the decor inside. Also love that they have self serve kiosks so you wouldn't have to wait on other people for long. Their ube and matcha drinks were good. You can actually taste the ube and matcha. The bobas were cooked perfectly and not too sweet. The only thing I wish they have are hot drinks. Was told that they only have cold drinks so that's a bummer for cold rainy days.

This place is so underrated in my opinion. They have such a good selection of drinks and this place is perfect for someone like me who just goes in at a kiosk and then walks out with my drink. Service is always really nice. Wish they had more seating for times where drinks take a little longer than expected, and a bathroom but overall for my preference I really like this place

i don't know what happened to this place but after their rebrand their drinks went downhill. their milk tea has minimal tea taste and just tastes like milky water. for $8 a drink wasn't expecting this and i'm very disappointed

Every tea I've had here is always bomb! I recently tried the white peach traditional tea and the sweetness was perfect, it was smooth and very peachy! I love when the peach flavor comes all the way through! I've also tried the orange blossom *I think that's what it's called* and of course their Thai iced tea is top tier! No complaints about the service - you can either utilize their self service kiosk or order through the cashier. The service is speedy as well. Not a whole lot of space to sit and enjoy but it is a cute little grand and go spot.

My friend and I were craving for some boba and stopped by here! Service was quick and did not have a long wait. There are some seats inside if you want to chill and hang out with others! I got the Ronin Matcha which was super creamy and delicious! It was not too sweet! I would definitely try other flavors.

Yummy and unique drinks and fast service Location is small, not too much seating, but perfect for grab and go

Assam Milk Tea with Mixed Boba

I really enjoyed my experience at this place! It's a rather small location, but it's very nicely decorated on the inside. I got the Assam Milk Tea with Boba of mixed sizes (really cool that they have that option, since I'd never tried small boba in this form before). The tea itself was great! I got 50% sweetness, which was just right for my preference and let the underlying tea flavor stand out. Unfortunately, the little boba weren't ultimately my preference, but I don't fault the store for giving me what I asked for haha. Would absolutely come back!

Soooooo goood

Their drinks are amazing! I stopped by on sunday late afternoon and this place was a full house! Drink didnt take long at all and omg ! Had perfect balance of sweetness and the texture of boba was dreamy! Definitely coming back to try other drinks!

Came for a little sweet treat after some good food and book shopping. Tried the Ronin Matcha on a whim and as it was a specialty drink. Very delicious, perfect matcha flavor blended with strawberry bits. It is quite creamy so keep that in mind, but would definitely get again!

Jinyoung J.

Since UE has great BOGO deals for pickup, I decided to try this place out. It wasn't busy when I went, so the order was pretty much ready right as I walked in. The interior was what I would describe as eclectic.

The yuzu slush was bright, citrusy, and refreshing with a subtle bitterness from the lemon rind that kept it from being overly sweet. The ginger added a nice little kick of warmth that was perfect on a cold, windy day. There was a bit of a wait for the sea salt caramel drink, and when it finally came out, it turned out to be a sea salt caramel slush instead of the milk tea we ordered. We didn't want to make a fuss, so we just went with it. The slush was creamy, well-balanced, and not cloying at all. Service may have been a little slow, but the drinks were good. I appreciate spots that get flavors right and aren't afraid to lean into more complex profiles instead of just sugar-on-sugar. This definitely looked like a place that had regulars and was a cozy spot to get some boba.

I got the chai vanilla (30% sugar) which wasn't that sweet. The drink itself was (surprisingly) very small, for 4.50 dollars. It kind of tastes like what you'd imagine a candle to taste like (if it tasted like what it smelled like) We also got the popcorn chicken which took a bit long to make but it was hot and fresh. It was pretty good. It's not like this place is bad, it's just not great you know?

I sat at the one available table and savored both items. The Biscoff latte was iced, with just enough ice to make it cold. I appreciate that they didn't overdo the ice like most coffee places. The flavor of cookie butter was vivid, sweet, and delicious. The cream top and crumbles of Biscoff added to the visual appeal. The lemon bar was slightly sweet and citrusy, with a tasty thin outer crust, the top of which was sprinkled with powdered sugar. For me, this was a perfect lemon bar in every way. Deff a decent spot if you're in the area and want something simple and low key.

Craving matcha turned into a mild parking obstacle course near California State University,…read moreFullerton, because apparently the real challenge is fitting your car into a space designed for a bicycle with confidence issues. Inside Vivot, it's giving "finals week survival zone" with students glued to laptops, one brave employee running the entire operation, and a self-order kiosk doing its best emotional support role. We kept our Matcha Latte classy, 25% sweetness with oat milk to really interrogate the matcha and honestly it passed the vibe check!! Smooth, solid, and worth the parking gymnastics. Oh and also, they are open late, closes at 11pm week nights and midnight on weekends.

I had ordered a milk tea and their Thai tea and was super disappointed with the flavor it was complete milk unfortunately and no sweeteners despite us having the 100% sweetener option. The drinks came out very far from each other time wise as well which isn't a super big issue but it's noticeable and could be an issue for bigger orders. Super busy somehow so we didn't want to burden the worker while the store had a rush. Other than that the place gave me a very pretentious vibe. I'm all for starting a business you're passionate about but it's hard to see what's different about THIS cafe in a world full of other businesses claiming to be different that's serving the same items (matcha specifically). Not to say that there's not bad matcha or coffee out there, there is. Seems like the type of cafe people go to take a picture of their drinks and pretend like they're connoisseurs and pretend that it's "different" than whatever else is out there and sit and pretend to study on their laptop (even though it's the loudest and crowded place in the world in there). Seeing that the place opened recently, it's very hard to believe this isn't some type of money grab for a younger audience to serve trendy drinks. Or at the very least, a very expensive passion project for the owner. Overall just more focused on aesthetics more than anything.

I legit am on my third day (in a row..don't judge me) of stopping by to order the pineapple Alice. I love me some pineapple & coconut any day, so this drink was a winning combo for me. In a nutshell, it's Greek yogurt blended with fresh pineapple, and topped with their house-made coconut whip. First time I got 50% sweetness level, which is good, but being a fruity smoothie, I would have preferred it a lil sweeter, thus 2nd & 3rd time around, I learned my lesson and got 80%..and it was perfect! Trust..it wasn't overly sweet at all. It was dreamy heaven. I happened to be in the area, getting a tattoo and wanted to refuel before I trekked the trafficky drive home to Irvine (UGH..at 2:30 pm on a Wednesday, no less). Super thankful, I discovered this new looking Brea location (on State College Blvd ~ right near the freeway entrance) and it didn't have a crazy wait/line. The store was clean, w/ minimalistic neutral decor..loved the chill aesthetic vibe. The cute wooden pillars as you enter was interesting, but caught me a bit off-guard, as it was right in front of the pick-up area. You have to explore further inside the store to the order line. Service was great and efficient. OMOMO is highly recommended by this RxFoodie (and my 2nd fav boba shoppe in OC still), so def go check it out and become addicted like ME!

The young lady at the counter was very kind and did her best to explain different sweetness and bitterness levels but she couldn't really describe the drinks and recommend anything based on comparisons with what is more popular. As for ambiance it was empty and had no customers. There were no tables to sit and enjoy your drink. So I think people prefer to go to other boba shops that offer at least a small seating area with a table. That was disappointing to see when I walked in. As for flavor... my drink tasted powdery and warm. The boba pearls were a bit stale. I wont be coming back. There are plenty of other boba locations that offer much higher quality drinks and the price point is exactly the same. Overall I'll give a 2/5 star for cleanliness and because the customer service was good.
