    Pork katsu set

Went with family and was seated right away around 6pm on a Thursday. Great service and delicious food. Second time to this chain since visiting the Richmond location but always love the salad!

The best katsu in Surrey! I came here for lunch and the portions are so big that I had a ton of leftovers. Katsu: the katsu is prepared with housemade bread crumbs and was so light and flaky. Each set comes with unlimited shredded cabbage, rice, miso soup and Japanese pickles. I recommend the assorted tonkatsu set so you get to try the ebi, cheese and pork cutlet. Nagasaki champon ramen: this bowl was gigantic, I could easy share this with another person. It came with a ton of toppings and the broth was flavourful The servers here are so friendly and thoughtful. When I asked to get my food packed, they even separated the noodles and the soup so the noodles don't get soggy.

There have been great reviews about their Richmond location and so I got excited when they opened one in Surrey (Fraser Heights). Our group went on a Friday night - and it was actually super busy despite arriving later in the evening! We went to write our name on the waitlist anyway. We waited around 45 minutes and luckily got the last table for the evening. The staff were very accommodating and did their best to explain the situation (last call was at 8:15pm and explained our options if we still chose to wait for a table - people can also order to-go). They were quite efficient and service was reasonably quick. We ordered the Tonkatsu Set, Chicken Katsu Set, and an Assorted Tonkatsu Set. The tray came with a variety of sides and sauces. I believe the shredded cabbage, rice, and miso soup are refillable as well. The tonkatsu was lightly crispy on the outside and the meat was tender and juicy. I also enjoyed the sesame sauce for the cabbage - it was fragrant and just slightly tangy. If you prefer variety in your plate, I would suggest getting the assorted set as it offers the tonkatsu or chicken katsu, shrimp tempura, AND cheese katsu. This shop is located in a plaza and there is plenty of free parking nearby. There is also bus stop just outside the plaza. The location is very convenient and I look forward to coming back soon!

The staff were friendly, the tables were clean, and the price is reasonable. The food wasn't something I'd say incredibly delicious but I I'm very satisfied with my Tonkatsu meal set. The only annoying part was no split bill, and the 1 hour wait which is totally on us. I would come back for some katsu as an alternative to Saku.

    Katsusan's Assorted Tonkatsu Set

The assorted tonkatsu set was crispy and had a good variety, which made it fun to try each one. Great foods overall!

We stopped by during the weekday evening and the restaurant was busy. We added our name to their waitlist and hung around at Starbucks to pass the time. We managed to get a table before the quoted 45 minutes wait estimate. Service was great once we were seated. We ordered the assorted tonkatsu set ($25.50), added a scallop ($6) and a bowl of Nagasaki champon ramen ($19.50). Food arrived after a short wait. The tonkatsu set was fried nicely. The meal was delicious. There were unlimited refills on cabbage, rice, miso soup, pickled vegetables, Himalayan pink salt and wasabi. Staff went around to refill on shredded cabbage periodically. Realistically speaking, I think most will only get refills on either the cabbage, rice or miso soup. Staff also explained how to enjoy the food if you are not familiar with the condiments. The ramen was tasty too. The broth had depth. The noodles were chewy. There a decent amount of seafood and pieces of pork belly. The soft boiled egg was nicely marinated. There was very generous helping of bean sprouts. Overall, this is a great addition to Surrey. I plan to return soon when I am craving for some Japanese cutlets.

    Cheese katsu

There's still a bit of wait time for weekend nights. We tried the cold ramen this time and it's great! Esp bc you can have the cabbage refill w it as well. FYI - Cheese katsu is basically all cheese.

It's not your typical ramen joint because looking at the menu, they have some other Asian dishes that are from different cultures. It's like a mish-mash of Asian flavours! We stuck to the ramen dishes since that's what we were after, and it was actually super delicious! Firstly, the bowls are bigger than usual ramen bowls from other Japanese joints, so you get a bit more. Your ramen comes with the basic meat/protein and a few add-ons. Optional toppings are available for $1.75 each. We ordered the miso tonkotsu and the spicy version. We LOVED it and thought it was super comparable to authentic ramen places in the lower mainland! Definitely come and try them out! The ambiance is super casual. Good for large groups as they have plenty of seating. Unassuming yet tasty. Only thing is that it's located in a part of Surrey where there's a lot of homeless folks roaming around the area. One even walked in and stopped by our table asking for money, but the owner was able to (nicely) shoo them away and apologized to us after. Apparently that guy wanders in from time to time, but there are usually cop cars in the area. We went on a Saturday night, so just beware of this in case you experience it too.

My favorite from here is the Nasi Goreng, it is so flavorful and amazing. We ordered Roti Canai and the Malaysian curry with it, the Tonkotsu Ramen was also pretty amazing. They have huge portions for a reasonable price. Really great!

According to my daughter hers was excellent and I have to agree the broth was rich and tasty. The Ted Hot was good and just the right amount of spice. Short Review: The…read morehomely but Japanese-inspired decor is nice for this restaurant. They followed all COVID-19 precautions, and It's a fair price for a large bowl of ramen. I ordered the "Red Hot" ramen, and I can't say the soup base is the most flavourful, mainly due to the spice ratio being slightly too much, but it's tasty nonetheless. If you live in Port Coquitlam, this place is worth a try. Long review: Ramen Bella recently opened up its second location in Port Coquitlam, and took over the Mexican gourmet that used to be there. This restaurant has got a great atmosphere, although it's quite quaint and still keeps the old tiling from the Mexican establishment, it fits it nicely although I can't say I feel like I'm sitting in an underground ramen shop in Shibuya. All staff followed COVID-19 procedures, wearing masks and practiced social distancing to the best of their abilities, they disinfected tables and chairs after people left and overall made the dining experience feel safe. We ordered, and our food came to us in less than five minutes, Igot the red hot ramen, and I gotta say it was pretty good. Usually spicy ramen ends up just being spicy and totally overpowering the broth flavour. I can't say the ratio was absolutely perfect, but it was a lot better than most other places. The portion size was great, but I'm not sure how I feel about bok choy and wonton crisps in ramen. The noodles tasted like good quality ramen noodles, but not home-made at the restaurant. This was quite minor but my soup didn't really come out to me piping hot, and more just hot in some spots and warm in others. I trust that it was a mistake considering my lady friends bowl was totally hot though. The gyoza we ordered with our meals was quite tasty. The pork and chives filling was what you'd expect for a restaurant like this, and the size of them was eatable in about two bites. These were super hot, so let them cool off for about a minute before you dig in! Overall if you live in the Tri-cities or Port Coquitlam, this is your best bet for ramen if you don't want to travel out to Vancouver. I think they should change the soup base to spicy ratio in the Red Hot bowl, to give it a little more flavour. Overall, this place has a lot of potential to be great, but for now, i give it a 3.5/5.
