Hot tip: Call ahead and get it ordered for pickup, skip the line! I do have the luxury of living in walking distance, however. When I first moved into the neighborhood, this restaurant caught my attention immediately, but I didn't really go because my first thought was, "Probably overpriced hipster." BOY HOWDY was I wrong! This place is so cozy, and so community-forward, and everyone there is so nice. However! On the nicest of days, and on Saturdays and Sundays - be prepared for a wait. It's worth it, but you will be waiting in line. (outdoors for a majority of the time) I have gone specifically for the pancake balls, the pumpkin apple butter is my absolute favorite. My boyfriend tends to change it up every time we go, he's been a big fan of the Shagbark Huevos Rancheros lately. Always go for the sweet and spicy bacon! (unless spicy isn't your thing - the original bacon is good too.) The drinks they offer are just as delicious, the blood orange juice I love *so* much I usually end up buying 2 of them. When it's in season, get the lemonade! I'm glad I gave this place a chance. It's absolutely delicious and one of the reasons I continue to live in the neighborhood. read more

Wish I could give this place 6 stars. Amazing. People have been telling me to go here since I moved to Columbus and I don't know why it took me so long. There are so many things on the menu that I want to try, but my meal was definitely on another level. Will definitely be returning. read more

If you want a restaurant where you sit down this isn't for you. It's very tight and during busy hours it can be hard to find a seat. If it's raining or cold, go elsewhere as most of the seating is outdoors. You order at the counter and serve yourself from a very cramped coffee/drink/water cart. Covid who??? Overall food was good. I had the hens in a basket (basically plain toast with a hole where they put an egg). The purple potato's were okay. Bacon was alright. The coffee was okay. My fiend got french toast. Interesting spices, tasted good. Cute place for a sunny morning breakfast hang out. Food is average. Go for the vibes honestly. read more

Super cute local establishment. I love to patronize local restaurants which also support small local businesses. This place has some amazing choices, including some great vegetarian options. My friend and I arrived around 9:30 on a tuesday morning and the small restaurant was busy. Parking was pretty easy since katalinas has a small lot next to their restaurant. We ordered the apple butter pancake balls and and the Famous pork and egg sandwich. Honestly, my mouth waters just thinking about the delicious dishes. The pancake balls came with sweet n spicy thick cut bacon, a perfect compliment to the yummy perfection pancake balls. If your not into bacon, I hear they have delicious vegeterian sausage. And i agree, the pork sandwich is famous....famously delicious. For two of us, we paid about $38....so not a cheap breakfast, but the food and flavors are fresh, delicious and amazing read more

Very hipster, fun environment. I liked the decor with the paint pens. The food was pretty good, too. We were just driving through and it was a fun stop on our road trip. read more

We return to Katalina's time after time because of the famous Nutella pancake balls and spicy/sweet bacon but a lot of their other dishes are also worthy of rave reviews. The chickwich (fried chicken breakfast sandwich) and breakfast tacos are scrumptious and of course super filling. Usually we can barely finish our meal. I appreciate that they source locally and use high quality ingredients but you also pay for it. A typical breakfast for two with coffee is $35ish which is aggressive given it's a fast casual joint. Overall, Katalina's is worth the visit as the food is delicious but it's a little of a splurge for breakfast. read more

Great food and atmosphere!!! Can't wait to go again, you won't be upset with the variety as well as diversity of breakfast food offered.

This is a classic place to please your out of town friends and relatives. The coffee is delicious and so strong. The breakfast tacos and pancake balls are incredible. Would not recommend the Brussels sprout hash because you get practically no Brussel sprouts and it's expensive. The outdoor seating is a huge plus and everyone loves that you can write and draw over all of the tables. The elote corn is also great, 10/10 would not recommend. They have plenty of gluten free and vegetarian options. This place gets pretty busy pretty quickly so don't be surprised to spend some time waiting in line, but it's worth it. read more

Service: Quick and efficient. With limited hours, there will always be people in line or scoping out somewhere to sit. But the staff stays on top of everything, and the kitchen cranks out their orders all day long. Food Quality: Cooked with love and a lot of flavor. They are known for their Pancake Balls, but the whole menu is a must try. If you want to try breakfast with a twist, come to Katalina's. Environment: Smaller space, especially if sitting inside. However, Katalina's makes the most of it with bright, vibrant colors and a beautiful outdoor patio right in the heart of it all. Makes the whole place feel special, like you were meant to be there at that moment. Buzz Words: Pleasant, Quaint, Cute read more

I love this place I'm excited to visit the new location. I have read complaints of how small katalinas is But please understand the food and community makes up for it. For me Katalinas reminds you to be accommodating and respectful to each other, showing others the community spirit of Columbus people. Get in where you fit in read more

First time experience -- it was absolutely fantastic! (HUGE shoutout to Tyler - he was super sweet and kind and attentive!) I have been waiting to try this restaurant for about TWO YEARS. They delivered a phenomenal experience and the food was top notch. We sat outside of the restaurant, as it is the only dining area available right now (inside seemed to be closed due to COVID-19). We couldn't have asked for a lovelier day. I can't wait to go back to see the super nice staff and stuff my face with some more tasty food. (: read more

This place would fit right in Portland, and that's meant to be a big compliment. Everything on the menu looked amazing I don't think you could go wrong here. I settled on the Mazatlan Pork and Egg and it was definitely a great choice, I would highly recommend! I wanted to come back here for breakfast while I was in town, unfortunately I was unable to. If I'm ever back in Columbus this is definitely the first place I would go. read more

Excellent brunch food. Would highly recommend the breakfast tacos, and if you are feeling extra hungry add on the potatoes they were out of this world. Pretty solid cold brew coffee really brings your brunch together. Would suggest going on a warm day as sitting outside was very enjoyable. read more

I was super excited to try the famous pancake balls. I got the Nutella versions. I loved how soft the pancake was but I do wish there had been more Nutella filling. I also really liked the vegetarian sausage - it was some of the best I've had at a restaurant. My friend got the Mazatlan sandwich (vegetarian version). I thought the sauce was great, and I loved the bread (which was buttery and soft). My friend did get sick of hers, though, after half. This is a great atmosphere, and I loved sitting on the cute tables outside. I would definitely be excited to come back and try something new! read more

Talk about a hot spot for brunch. This quaint little place was lined up out the door. Clue 1 there is good food here, right? We met an old work friend and his wife here for brunch after staying in Columbus. This was their suggestion and man were they spot on. This place is not too far from the North Market. It has off street parking behind the restaurant, but it was full after we parked. They have seating both inside (small) or picnic tables and umbrella's outside. Done it was a beautiful morning, we stayed outside in the sun with a nice breeze. We arrived just in time and it only took about 10 minutes before making it to the front to order. Unknown to me, this place is known for their pancake balls, so obviously that was a must. We decided to share an order of those, as well as an order of biscuit balls. Great choice, the pancake balls we chose were filled with nutella and dulce de leche...so good. The biscuits balls were good, they were filled with cheddar and ham. The inside decor of this place was hip and funky. Over all, it was a great experience with really good food. read more

We went here for brunch and were very impressed! It was crowded so get there early to get a seat. We got the breakfast tacos, the pork and egg sandwich, and the pancake balls. The breakfast tacos were just ok, but everything else was outstanding. I will definitely come back here next time I'm in Columbus for brunch read more

This was a great spot for a Saturday morning/afternoon brunch. The outside tables are fun and friendly. Many people have left their mark writing notes to friends and hilarious sayings. My friend and I split the pork and egg sandwich and the pancake balls. I would recommend a combination sharing a combination like this because it gives you the ability to experience their sweet and savory dishes. Friendly and unassuming staff- quick service too! I will definitely be back soon. read more

Everything the reviews say is true. Katalina's is legit. I'm from Pittsburgh, but Columbus is one city that my friends and I travel to for Penguins hockey games on the road and we always try to make our way here. It's a small place a few miles from campus with a down to earth hipster vibe. Very casual. Most of the inside is covered with marker graffiti courtesy of their customers. You order up at the counter and then find a table. The space is small, and if you're there on a day with nice weather, you can usually expect to wait. My last visit was an overcast day in March that wasn't quite warm enough to make people want to spend their morning outside, and it was my least crowded experience there. Either way, you can call ahead for takeout if you prefer. They don't take reservations. But the food is awesome. I've tried the pancake balls, the street corn, the tacos, the hash, and the sweet and spicy bacon, and probably some other items as well that are escaping my memory. The pancake balls are kind of their signature item, so make sure you try those at some point. They are incredibly sweet, but worth sharing. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free offerings are indicated on the menu, and they claim their products are locally sourced. Beverages mostly include fresh juices and coffees. Katalina's is always on my short list of places to stop in this city. Put it on yours too. read more

Would not recommend as the food does not follow typical Hispanic guidelines and tastes

Katalina's is a must try brunch stop in Columbus. If you go on the weekend, be prepared to stand in line and wait for a little while because there isn't a ton of seating. Don't let that scare you away though because it's worth the wait! Both times I've been there, I have gotten the Latina sandwich, and I would highly recommend it. It's very filling, so maybe wait until the end to decide if you want to open the tortilla chips they give you--I always take them home. Additionally, consider getting the blood orange juice--it's so delicious. read more

The huevos rancheros, breakfast tacos and the pancake balls... enough said. RUN, don't walk!

Wonderful food and atmosphere, but space and parking is limited, so be prepared to wait for everything, including a clean table.

9/18/23 around 8:30am I Went inside to grab a menu and let staff know I was sitting at an outdoor seat. Went to lunch here one day. I was a little skeptical because of the line out of the door, but it moved super quickly. I had a friend with me, and he ordered and I grabbed a table. This small neighborhood resturant was a great find! Thank you fellow yelpers for the suggestion. I really enjoyed the avacado toast with the sprinkling of pumpkin seeds. It was a little salty but satisfying. The biscuits with the fake meat sausage was hearty and got me REALLY full. The eggs and cheese were an "eggscellent" addition. A lot of their dishes have a Tex Mex vibe. I wasn't a huge fan of their coffee in that it tasted a little burnt. Overall this place was a hit. Seating is tight and there is only one bathroom. Katalina's - eggs with biscuits - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Columbus, Ohio

I've been to each of the Katalina's locations a few times, and it's always delicious! Get here early to make sure you can get a seat, especially in the winter, when it's uncomfortable to sit outside. The atmosphere is so cute and the menu has choices for all diets- GF, vegan, vegetarian, and carnivores alike. At the OG location (Pennsylvania Ave), I always always always get the vegetarian biscuit balls. I'm not a vegetarian but they're so good. Fluffy biscuit balls swirled throughout with cheese. Smother them in the peach-habanero jam and dip them in a juicy egg yolk. YUM!! My boyfriend loves the pork & egg sandwich (available at both locations), and that's what I typically order at the Clintonville location as well. It's huge, and the flavors and textures compliment each other in a way that makes this an awesome sandwich. Ok. So the pancake balls. They're honestly better than you can imagine they'd be. And I always imagined them to be pretty damn good. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and filled with Nutella (Or dulce de leche, or pumpkin-apple butter. But get Nutella). Coated generously in powdered sugar with a healthy dunk of maple syrup. Boom. Everything you never knew you needed. I hate spending $40+ on breakfast for 2 people, but the pancake balls keep me coming back. Just really awesome food. read more

REALLY ENJOYED Katalina's. Busy, happening, young crowd. Food smelled delicious, but was a mixed bag. Pancake balls are among the best thing I've ever eaten. But the biscuits & grave were a "swing and a miss" for me - hard biscuits, odd sausage for the gravy - not worth ordering again. We'll definitely go back, but it's 4 stars, not 5... read more
