From the moment you step inside, you can feel the cozy, welcoming atmosphere. I took my better half for Valentine's Day dinner. Aside from sushi and ramen, I highly recommend trying their House Dog and Kinoko Dog. The ramen had a rich, deep broth. They also have an excellent selection of sake, which paired perfectly with the meal. Overall, Kyatchi is a fantastic spot for a casual yet top-notch dining experience. Whether you're a sushi lover or just looking for quality Japanese food in Minneapolis, this is the place to go!

I am SO torn on this review. Here's the breakdown:…read more Menu: Their menu options are so awesome. Authentic Japanese food, tons of options, and lots of fun stuff. Drinks: The Last Samurai cocktail & the Imposter Among Us mocktail were both delightful. Love the unique drink options, and the two we had were executed beautifully. Sushi: Unfortunately, the sushi was a bit disappointing. We had the hotate yuzu, Suzuki oshizushi, tamago nigiri, and the futomaki. The rice was unfortunately undercooked, and also too lightly seasoned. The tamago was alright, the futomaki was very good though. Dessert: The yuzu custard - one of my favorite desserts I've eaten in a long time. Definitely the best thing we had and I would absolutely get it again. Service: Our service was pretty good. I did watch one of the other servers grab soup spoons by the part you eat from and then bring them to a table which was concerning. Note: For anyone with dietary specifications: they offered gluten free soy sauce, and the custard was a vegan dessert and it was delightful.

Went for dinner on another night and enjoyed the volcano roll and salmon teriyaki dish. Complaint is that I ordered the Superman roll with seaweed instead of soy paper. Had to hunt down the server again. He apologized but when the bill came we were still charged for one of the rolls that was wrong. The manager did remove it from the bill but the experience wasn't great overall.

We also shared the Brother Bill Popp specialty roll, and it's good if you're a fan of cream cheese-heavy rolls, if not I would pass. Overall, this is a no-frills, basic sushi spot. Well worth the money, but I wish it had come with rice! Overall was pretty good. On a personal scale, I probably won't be back.

I have since been several times. AMA Sushi is essentially the exact same as Momo if you have ever been before which was fantastic as I was missing it so much. AMA offers amazing prices, super fresh sushi, an incredible sushi bucket and super efficient service. The downside of both of them is that they have limited seating in a cute, quaint little shop for how incredibly popular they are so definitely be ready for a wait, especially if you go during a weekend dinner. If you are super hungry and have at least 1 other person with you, I HIGHLY recommend you get the sushi bucket. For about 45 bucks, you get so much food and if you have any allergies you can even let them to know so they avoid it. The chef will choose a few different rolls and sashimi for you to have and all you have to do is enjoy. The bucket is MASSIVE - it will really leave 2 people stuffed. I think its a fun way to go where you never no quite what you are going to get! My favorite family of sushi restaurants in the state.

My husband found Hikari first and insisted we visit. I didn't even know about Eat Street Crossing,…read moreso the whole thing was new to me. So Eat Street Crossing is a food hall, with lots of different fun food vendors. There's a "host" stand at the front, but it's not really a traditional restaurant. I think the person at the stand is just there to help with questions and directions. So anyway, the sushi bar is right in front of you as you walk in. You order at the counter, are given a little buzzer and wait for your food. We went for lunch and when we arrived, there was just one guy behind the counter. We perused them menu and ordered: a trio of handrolls (what a deal at $18), the audi roll and the hikari roll. I thought we might have under-ordered, but it was plenty of food. The one dude behind the counter was in the unenviable position of having to prepare food while also taking orders. He managed it though, and our food was ready in a reasonable amount of time. The sushi was delicious. The fish was very fresh, the other ingredients also very fresh. The hand rolls were unique in that they are actual rolls that look more like logs than the traditional cone. But still delicious nonetheless. If I had any feedback at all on the sushi itself, it would be that the rolls were SO large that honestly I had trouble eating some of the pieces in a single bite. The rolls were pretty wide circumference wise and the pieces were generously thick. But they were very close to too large. I kept looking around to see if anyone was noticing my very poor sushi eating etiquette as I tried to deal with this. Fortunately, everyone was busy with their own stuff. We happened to sit pretty close to the host stand and I asked the guy there what the building used to be ... it's obviously old, with huge wooden beams way up in the rafters and lots of cool staircases running up to what I assume would have been at least the third level back in the day. He told me they used to paint big giant banners/signs in the building. I just thought that was a really cool piece of trivia. Anyway, loved the food, loved the design of the actual restaurant. I was obsessed with the graphic hanging on the wall and the cute goldfish hanging from the ceiling. My only true complaint is that the EDM music was pumped up way too loud for this old lady and her old ears. But other than that, totally enjoyable. Will definitely return.

They also have a great happy hour menu, which makes it easy to try a few different things. Service was smooth and food came out fairly fast. Wait time wasn't bad, even during a busier time. The space is clean and comfortable, good for both casual dinners and small group outings we had a party of 6. Portions are solid and everything felt consistent quality-wise. Overall, it's a reliable spot with a lot of variety. I'd go back to try more of the menu, just would probably adjust the spice level next time.
