I usually frequent the Kashi in RVC and was in the area and decided to stop by this bellmore location. The food is terrible compared to rvc. Its not fresh. The first time i went here the sushi rolls had much thicker layers of rice and less filling than the rvc location making it bland. Hoping this was a one time fluke I went back to this location for the sashimi/sushi lunch and again it was not fresh and it was a terrible selection of fish. read more

Horrible experience!! I placed an order through seemless. Not only did it arrive 45 minutes past the expected delivery time but the food that arrived smelled and tasted off. My boyfriend and I both stopped after a few bites of the Kani salad and were like "yea something is off". We figured maybe it was just the salad so moved on to try a sushi roll and that tasted horrible as well. I believe either the fish was bad or maybe our food was sitting out in the open for too long waiting to be delivered and it started going bad. Either way I called seamless and they tried working it out with the restaurant but they denied a refund. I spent $50 didn't eat the food and got no compensation what so ever! Nothing really special from this Place. Service little bit too slow and waitress took couple of our order wrong. But generally very nice and pleasant dinner experience. We order some sushi and sashimi . The quality of the fishes are very fresh. And the basil fillet mignon was perfectly cooked. Food is great. My issue is with customer service. My husband was craving miso soup tonight. We put an order in for delivery. I sat right next to him as he ordered and made sure he correctly ordered my two items, as well as his (which included miso soup)...I heard all 4 items ordered correctly. The order came with 3 items and no miso soup. I called to say they'd forgotten it and as I looked at the receipt I saw they never punched it in. The woman on the phone told me we never ordered it. I said we did, I was sitting right beside my husband and perhaps they didn't hear it. Well she proceeded to argue with me that she took the order and we never ordered it and she's positive. Really? Went here on a Friday night with my girlfriend. Our server was Sherry. She was super attentive and very friendly. We happened to be seated at a booth table alongside a table with a customer who had very specific dietary restrictions. Went to Kashi with a friend Monday night. The service was good. The food- terrible. Their spicy mayo is NOT typical sushi spicy mayo. Awful. Their rolls were so bad that I had one piece out of two orders of rolls and ended up paying for it all without even eating. You would think they would ask if something was wrong if they notice their guests not eating anything. Would never go again. Really surprised bc I've heard good things. Even though the food and service was great, I couldn't give more than 3 stars because of the experience with the valet. Long story short, when we were ready to leave, the valet was already gone. The staff inside had no idea where the car keys were. They were "going to call" but we never saw them pick up the phone. After a little while, we found the car and the key was ON THE WINDSHIELD!! Anyone could have just come and taken the car! The staff didn't seem to know anything about the valet company or how to reach them. I found a number on the ticket and showed the man (manager I think) he said yes, call that number. When I called, I got the valet ticket printing company!! The in-dining experience was great. Very clean, friendly service, fairly priced. I ordered out one time and the fish was rather warm and left a bad taste in my mouth. Wow this place was excellent! I have such low expectations of Long Island's sushi offerings but I begrudgingly went out with friends to Kashi. So glad I was wrong. Best roll I had was the Valentine roll, it was outstanding. It contained spicy tuna in a wasabi sauce that tasted perfect, and since it wasn't rolled with rice I ordered another because low carb and why not? Points for cuteness because the roll is in a heart shape (awww). I could literally write the entire review about that roll and if this review was only for the valentine roll there would be a full 5 stars. I took off a star for the scallop appetizer. Imagine someone took a raw scallop and diced it up with a razor, these slices were thinner than paper (just not good). The presentation was on point though, the dish came out on shaved ice with seashells and a blue lite up dish. Too bad it looked way better than the taste. The filet mignon appetizer was awesome and I loved the decor and ambiance. But really, the Valentine roll had me at hello and I will so be ordering ASAP! read more

I wish I didn't have to give this place one star to write a review. I was not able to taste the food so my review is based on the customer service, or better yet, lack there of. I went in on a Friday night with my boyfriend, no reservations so we waited at the bar for our table. When two seats opened up I moved over to them and was told by a female bartender that we could not have those seats because two men who were already seated at the end of the bar wanted those seats. Shocked, I told my boyfriend and we walked away in disbelief. A trio of women walked over to the same two seats and were told he same thing. We watched as they experienced the same disbelief and then came over to us to discuss this experience which none of us have ever gone through. It's a bar, it's first come, first serve! A bartender who works for an establishment should not have the latitude to alienate customers and erode the image of a restaurant to serve his/her own interests. In this case, her, own interests. Love everything about this place. The management and wait staff are so friendly and welcoming. They always take the time to talk to me for a bit. The ambience is chic but also very warm and comfortable. And the food, well the food is amazing! I have had sushi and sashimi...fish always super fresh! From the appetizer list, the slow cooked baby back ribs are fall off the bone delicious, the duck Salad is one of my favorite salads, and the lobster nori and Choo Choo lobster will seriously have you wanting more! We went to Kashi for the first time 62 days ago. They had a promotion if you downloaded their app you would get 15% off your next visit. We went tonight and it was a wine promo night, 50% off wine. No where does it say full bottles only, my wife was going to have a glass which is not part of the deal. We had dinner and I get the check and wanted to use the the 15% coupon. They tell me it expires after 60 days, so I'm over two days. They never mentioned the 60 day expiration so I asked for the manager. I told her that if they refused to honor the offer on principle they would be losing a local customer. She would not honor it, so for $7.50 they lost a customer who would have been back many times in the future. What a way to manage a business. Find another place that understands customer service. read more

Beautiful restaurant with interesting menu. Service was attentive, friendly and efficient. Rock shrimp tempura was amazing, an appetizer but enough food to serve as an entree. Very shareable. Spicy crab roll was fresh and tasty, but they forgot the soy sauce. Teriyaki chicken was a bit dry but the sauce was thick and flavorful. Vegetables was salty. I went to Kashi tonight with 2 of my girlfriends. It was a Satursay night so we made a reservation for 7. When we got there at 7 we were told it would be a 15 minute wait. Okay no biggie. At 730 we still werent seated, but were told we were next. We were not seated until 805 which is completely absurd.. whats the point in having a reservation? Luckily the service made up for it. We received 2 appetizers on the house from Kevin the manager and Sean, our server was very attentive. Im a huge fan of Kashi RVC, which will probably be my go to instead of this place (rvc is much bigger and has a better vibe). Awesome experience this past weekend. We had 9pm reservations and I was a little surprised that the place was packed. We were greeted by a hostess who let us know it would be a short wait. We were finally seated and were introduced to our waitress. She promptly took my drink order and we ordered an appetizer while we perused the menu. The general manager then approached us and asked if we wanted to move as a larger table became available. We gladly took him up on this and moved to a much better table. The scallop appetizer was dead on and we place out order. (sashimi) The sashimi was perfectly presented and were very generous cuts. Everything was perfect. I read previous reviews about service and I think they got their feet under them now. They had 2 or 3 GMs working the floor and helping out where they could. Love the Kashi in Rockville Centre, but gave this new location a try since it just opened. We learned we should not have gone on a Saturday night based on our experience. The place was packed & as a result there was really poor service. We had a reservation for 8 and we did not eat until 9:30. A party of 11 of us with children waited for our table, drinks were not delivered until an hour after placing order, some never arrived. We were given complimentary appetizers by a manager, which we appreciated. However, it was one thing after another and 5 people in our party left at 10 without eating. The menu here is different than other locations. For example, there is no Hibachi tables here and when you order the entree it does not come with soup/salad. At $24 for steak you are charged $3 extra for fried rice. The kids love lomein and its not available there. We did not know there was no kids menu. One would think with a chain items would be similar. They are NOT! I could continue, but Ive said enough. I love Kashi and will continue going to RVC due to this experience. read more

I have become a huge fan of sushi and I normally get it at least once a week for the past year and a half. I have been trying different sushi places in that period of time and for the most time I have been happy with the sushi each time I order from a new restaurant, but unfortunately that has come to an end today. My brother and I ordered the American Dream, the Fried Lobster roll, the three roll lunch special (California roll, sweet potato tempura roll and spicy tuna roll) and not one of them were good. As a matter of fact my brother and I did not finish one of the rolls and we threw out over half of them. The rolls them-self lacked much flavor and the one thing that was for certain was that they were warm and not fresh tasting. I could understand one roll not being up to par but all five really says something about the establishment. We tried this place because it is local but received our food via a delivery and I can say this without any hesitation, I will never order from here again. read more
