Chicken curry combo

Eating here for the first time and it's legit Japanese curry , rice is the good good guessing Jasmine and Japanese curry is on point, but most definitely a place to try and they did give a good amount Combo comes with miso soup and a drink try it out and enjoy.

Kare inside Rodeo 72 is a solid stop for comforting Japanese curry. The curry is rich, savory, with lots of protein options--tender beef belly, pork belly, or a crispy chicken katsu. Portions are generous, and the miso soup on the side is a nice, simple touch. Great option when you want something warm, filling, and satisfying.

I've been to the other locations at Stanton and Irvine, I'm so glad they are in Whittier now. The chicken was so crispy and the curry reminds me of my grandmas. Don't forget to use the special spices if you want to kick it up a notch.

Chicken Katsu Curry

Just tried the newly opened Japanese curry spot in Whittier and WOW. We ordered the chicken katsu curry and it did not disappoint. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside, super juicy on the inside, not dry or hard at all. The curry sauce was rich, flavorful, and had the perfect balance of savory and had a mild spice that made it perfect without being overpowering. You can tell everything was made fresh. Definitely coming back again!

This time, I tried the omurice, which is egg-wrapped, curry-flavored rice and chicken with your choice of sauce. I chose their curry, which I've always enjoyed. This also came with your choice of corn or miso soup and a salad. I also ordered a side topping of sautéed chicken as I was especially hungry that morning. The omelet wrapping the rice was nicely fluffy with a deliciously subtle blend of savory and sweet flavors. I enjoyed the diverse spices from the curry-flavored rice. With small chunks of chicken, the dish was slightly more filling. I wish there was just a little more curry portioned out. The sautéed chicken on the side was delicious and reminded me of times I enjoyed pan-fried steak dishes from Hong Kong cafes. Interestingly, the omurice came with seasoned fries and steamed carrots and green beans a slight touch of American cuisine). Overall, it was delicious combining all the flavors from the curry, rice, omelet, and sautéed chicken into one bite. Service was good. All our dishes had a nice and careful presentation. Our server also refilled my water without me asking. However, the restaurant can get loud due to the small interior. As usual, parking was in high demand, but we found a spot close to the north exit. There was a crowd of people standing near the entrance, so I thought we were in for a long wait. However, they were thankfully waiting for another restaurant nearby.

The curry itself is good too, flavorful with a nice kick. Not a super big fan of the pork katsu. Got the loin but was still kinda lean and tough to eat. Also the breading falls off really easily. Stick to the chicken, really juicy and tender despite being white meat. A nice little family vibe in a plaza filled corporate Chinese mumbo jumbo restaurants.

The place definitely reminds me of smaller mom and pop shops in the South Bay. We had just had curry, so skipped the lunch special combos and went with the cold noodle and rice, with an extra kaarage. We also opted for the upgrade to so a noodles. Food was delicious; nothing fancy, just good cooking and good ingredients. The chicken was hella crispy and juicy, the noodles just the right texture, and my mini katsudon was so yum. Friend had the mini tempura rice bowl and that was also tasty. Can't wait to go back, and bring some of my own duckies for the restaurant.

They give you a light salad as an appetizer which is really airy and refreshing. The lunch specials are the best for the deals so try to go around that time! For cold noodle options they have ramen, udon, and my personal favorite soba! The portions of the soba are huge and the amount of different kinds of tempura is definitely filling (squid, shrimp, potato, carrot, cilantro). The sauce to dip the cold noodles in are perfectly balanced in flavor and comes with green onions and wasabi as an add on if you want! Atmosphere: cute place with very humble and on brand theme of ducks! They are all over the place even the restroom! Price: price is not bad for the amount of food you get, but would definitely try to go during lunch.

I ordered a curry chicken cutlet and double matcha (pure matcha selection) and my order came out in less than 10 minutes. I must've gotten lucky to be the first one here because I noticed later customers receive their orders in 15-20 minutes. The curry chicken is very good for its value. $16 for generous amount of chicken and its thick and juicy. The curry was good flavor on the sweeter side and had a good amount of spice (my level of choice was 2). The double matcha was also very good, they use Marukyu Koyamaen Rindou and the matcha flavor was strong enough to my liking. The cream top was thicker than other places I've tried in the area and had good matcha flavor. For the double matcha I went with Pure Matcha which is matcha with water + matcha cream top. The ambiance inside is like a tea shop, cozy, lots of tables without feeling like a restaurant but rather like a place to study. They had calm music playing when I was here. The Air Conditioner was also on and it was very comfortable to sit inside. I'd definitely come back. I think it's good value, the workers are very nice and it's good to support family owned.

The cafe has a nice inviting decor. It's always nice walking in and seeing the interior. They've changed it around a few times which is cool. The service is also good, we've never had any issues with our food.
