So I went to this place far away from my house because the asking price of the car I wanted was low, 13.8k for a 08 Corvette!! I expected taxes & registration but there was another catch. All cars that were promotional are apparently repo cars & they have a mandatory fee for a tracking system that ranges from 1-2k. They also told me how much the total cost of the car would be with interest, tax, registration & all fees, turns out they were trying to steal 3k from me because I did the math in front of them, asked them were those were coming from, manager just got up & walked away!! Didn't even say a word!! The total cost of a 13.8k car somehow went up to 20k!! With interest, tax & registration should have been around 17k!! By the way my down payment was going to be 3k, they were just trying to pocket those!! DO NOT GO HERE!! read more

What a scam. I saw an ad for exactly the car I was looking for with a price that was within my budget. When I read the fine print of the ad there was some unusual language about after-market items. After reading reviews here, I decided to call before I went in. The first person I talked to told me that they add $495 for a locator device on the car. He suggested that I ask my insurance company for a discount (which they do not actually offer.) I called again a few days later to see if the car was on the lot yet. I asked this salesman the same questions about the after-market items and he said the locator device costs an additional $1495. As I read the wording of their listing to him, I asked about the $445 door edge guard that is specified in the additional charges. Basically paint sealant. They are charging $445 to wax the car. So a listing that was $500 below market (according to the assessment on their own listing) is now $1500 above market. Final analysis - a $10,000 car listing would have actually cost me $12,000. That is a 20% difference. This kind of business model is what gives used car lots a bad name. read more

I purchased a 2015 Kia Sportage from Karplus March of 2017, overall it is a good car, but there was a big dent in the front fender that they managed to hide from me. The sun was setting and the car was dusty enough that I didn't see it (my fault, I should have been more thorough), but they should have pointed it out as well. I eventually had it fixed on my own for $250, oh well, live and learn. I also purchased a warranty from them for mechanical breakdowns, well my air conditioner just went out and it turns out I can only take it to their repair shop, and if what's wrong with it is not covered by the warranty I have to cover the costs. Ok, no problem, but their repair shop is not a mechanic I would choose for normal repair work(plus I have to wait a week in a 100 degree weather before I can take it in), and if I decide to get it fixed somewhere else I have to pay $125 to their mechanic. This is ridiculous, this is a ripoff warranty and I'm not happy at all. Shame on you Karplus for scamming your clients with a crap warranty. This is the kind of thing that really really makes people feel RIPPED OFF !!! I tried calling Karplus to see if I could take it somewhere else, I called the warranty company, asked the repair place, but got nothing. They couldn't care less now that the sale has gone through and they got their money. Great Customer Service Scamplus, way to keep your customers happy. Never Again.. First off, yes I am aware that I could have said something about the dent. But I purchased the car as is, and didn't think there was anything you would do about it. I recently got in a minor fender bender on the other side, and the auto body shop offered to fix the dented fender for only $250 so I went for it. As far as the warranty goes, yes I could take it to any state licensed repair facility as long as it is 40 miles away from your repair facility, WTF, 40 MILES... that is ridiculous. This is according to customer service at Portfolio Protection (the warranty co. you sold me on). I even asked to speak with a supervisor there, and they said the same thing, your repair place or 40 miles away. When I called to talk with Alan, my F.A. at your place, he was not there. I spoke with someone else in that Dept. who said he would look into it and call me back, but he never did. So why am I going to call you now, I finally have my car in your shop because I apparently have little other choice, I'm hoping they're honest and don't try to charge me for unnecessary repairs ( I did take my car to an A/C specialist and I know the compressor / clutch is bad), and it's not like you're going to pay for the repair on the dent after all this time, or the $150 I spent for the A/C specialist, or really do anything at all, so again, why would I call you ? To hear you apologize for an unpleasant experience, and poor customer service when I did call. read more

After looking for a while we found our vehicle at Karplus. I saw it advertised on Autonation and CarGurus and it was by far the cheapest vehicle in the area. We were reluctant to drive all the way to Pacoima since we live in the Temecula area. But the deal would be worth the long drive. The ad is deceiving since the price does Not include another $1400 in charges for Antitheft and etch, which is automatically added to every car, so it should be included in the advertisement. They explained it was required by the bank but we did our own financing and our credit union does not require it. We were told that they would not remove it, take it or leave it. But, on the other hand, the add also did not list over $3700 in factory options, so, when we saw that it had lane and park assist and more we were happy we went to Karplus. But even with that additional $1400 added to the deal and after calling our credit union we were getting the car for more than $4000 under Kbb, so we did the deal. Financing was done by Puya, a very nice gentleman, he answered our many questions and concerns. Also Armen, I think he is one of the sales managers, was very nice as well. All in all we had a good purchase experience and we are very happy with our 2015 Mercedes Benz Sprinter. DON'T BUY FROM HERE!! BAIT AND SWITCH!! Car was advertised for $22,492 , I asked what the total cash price would be, and they took over two hours to tell me there would be an extra $2,313 in extra fees (Which doesn't include any taxes) for a total of $24,805. The vehicle also had a very dangerous open recall, that hadn't been repaired. The incomplete recall is reflected on the CARFAX report (and the Car Manufacturer's website), that the dealer themselves sent to me. Don't buy from this dealership. I recommend being honest and advertising the vehicles at a price that makes since, instead of trying to rip someone off once you get them in your office. No one emailed me back even after a second email. So I called and spoke to Armen. He said the truck won't be ready for a week. He was nice enough to get me pictures. Then he called me back and said the OTD price was $3,300 more than advertised. I even went so far as to make an offer over advertised price and he said he can't do it. This place is complete bait and switch. They just advertise low prices to get you to call in. The price is actually higher than most of the trucks I found similarly equipped. Got a great car from here last month. My sales associate, JD, was friendly and chill. I came prepared with a few cars I'd seen on their online inventory so we weren't wondering around. I had an exact car in mind, a 2013 Toyota Yaris, but JD was also very forthcoming about two of the ones I looked at -- that one would need premium gas and didn't get good MPG and the other was currently with their mechanic and had some problems -- which I appreciated. I ended up getting the Yaris and really appreciated the honestly and speed at which JD, his manager, and the finance guy Allen worked. I'm still recovering my credit, but they were able to get me a great finance option in my price range and Allen explained the extensive paper work to us as I signed. I had planned to spend all day at the dealership looking, haggling, waiting -- but we were in and out of their in less than 3 hours. I've gotten so many compliments on my car -- save for a couple tiny scratching on the bumper, it looks brand new -- and it drives like a dream. They told us they would honor the price but when push came to shove there was suddenly an anti theft device and fees related to it that they refused to remove. We told them repeatedly that we did not want the anti theft but were told it was unable to be removed. This had bait and switch written all over it. And from what I've been reading on other reviews of your company, this is not the first time your people have used these scam tactics.
