The waitress who was taking drink orders seemed very attentive, as well as the bartender behind the bar making the drinks as well as helping to run the drinks out to the table. Things came up pretty quickly, we were not to meander and mingle around th restaurant as we waited for all of the friends and family to arrive. While mingling and chatting with old friends we were able to sit down on the benches around the tables and have conversations with family and friends. It's like having a venue all to our own. Once we were all there was a plan to get us sat and fed. As the time went by, the owner or manager (was not sure) came out and gave us a little speech about what would be happening and before we knew it plates and plates and plates of appetizers started coming out. there were 27 of us and there was certainly enough appatizers for everyone. I believe we had the pizza margharita, the peach buratta, We had the fried shrimp we had the tomato and mozzarella, the beef carpaccio as well as a few Caesars and Mediterranean salads. Everything was delicious. As a matter of fact most of us were full, but the best was yet to come. We knew there would be more scrumptious foods arriving shortly to the table. They definitely thoroughly enjoyed them. As the dinner order was being taken, I helped myself to a Buffalo trace on the rocks with a very nice pour from the bartender. The group stood and had the space and time to sing a tailored song. The happy birthday song was inspired by Billy Joel song and told stories about the birthday girl, my friends aunt who is 85. The guests then one at a time stood and had some very interesting things o say about her. At this point the food began coming out ,and let me tell you, everything was beautifully plated. There was not one single complaint I heard from anyone at the table. I did see people passing the plates around to try each other's dishes and commenting on how delicious everything was. My evening was just splendid all parts were flowing. When my dinner had come out I was just thrilled. I had the ribeye steak, which was grilled to medium rare temperature as I had asked. My wife had the branzino and our daughter had the veal Milanese, which by the way it was made with a veal chop that was pounded and covered an entire cutting board. Everything was delicious. The eggplant Parmigiana was tasty, but we would not consider it an authentic Italian dish. The grilled octopus, on the other hand, was a completely different story. It was incredibly tough and chewy - honestly, it was like eating a garden hose. It really seemed as though it had been cooked ahead of time and then reheated. When we left, my wife looked at me and said, "We're never coming back here again." Unfortunately, I had to agree. That's really a shame because we genuinely wanted to like Selita's.
