I really enjoyed my visit to Halal Bros Grill! I wish I had taken a picture of my food, but honestly, I started eating before I even thought about it . I got the bowl with white rice, jerk chicken, jerk chicken sauce, jalapeños, corn, and lettuce, and everything was really good. My husband got the chicken fajita, and he enjoyed his too. I also tried one of their refresher drinks. I believe it was the dragon fruit and pineapple one, and it was delicious! I asked the hostess about the sugar because I wasn't sure if the refreshers came with sugar or if you could adjust it. She explained that you can choose the percentage of sugar, so I went with the full amount... and yes, it was GOOD! The ambiance was a chill, laid-back vibe, which I liked. The only downside was the shared parking lot next to the restaurant had a pretty strong smell, so that wasn't exactly the best when walking in. I got dinner from there tonight. And, let's just say it was mid, nothing to brag about. Just a warning all their toppings are raw they do not cook the onions or peppers, I thought that was odd. So, I ordered the rice bowl with lamb and white sauce because all their toppings was raw and the corn is out of the can. The service was okay, nobody was in there. Parking is a bit hard to find which is why there's always some traffic around this spot since it is in a small strip with other restaurants. Some people double park in front but I usually park in the back lot. This is take out only as there is no seating area to dine in. They usually get people in and out quick. You order at the counter on the left since the one on the right is for online order pick ups. They have a decent sized free parking lot in the back, which is wonderful given street parking is kind of tough to find in this area. The spices & flavoring on the chicken were so unique & I've never had chicken that tasted like this before. The quesadillas were so warm & bursting with jerk chicken & veggies. Never had Halal food before but while in a new city I believe we should try new things so I ordered the chicken plate which comes with salad and rice. Somehow I ended up with the chicken and lamb plate. I do like lamb so that wasn't a problem. I also asked for all sauce to be on the side just Incase I didn't like it. Unfortunately they didn't do that, however it was delicious. I got the white sauce mixed with the spicy white sauce. I didn't find it to be terribly spicy though so that was a bonus. That's the only reason I've given four stars instead of five, the order was incorrect, even though it worked out in this instance. If you ever get the opportunity to eat here, definitely do. I tried this Halal spot for the first time. I eat Halal food often but usually get it from my spot in BK on Coney Island Ave. This can not compare. Ordered a lamb gyro and lamb over rice with the salad. Got home which is not far from the location (5 mins) maybe) and went to eat my food which was COLD. Meat and rice was cold and lamb meat was COLD on gyro. I asked that the lamb be cooked well and chopped well, which usually means they take the meat that's sitting and put back on the grill and chopped up. Didn't happen! I originally asked for olives to be added (not accustomed to being charged for olives because they are typically part of the salad mix) and extra cucumbers (which I didn't get). When I saw that both were going to be a $1 extra I asked that the olives be taken off. Manager informed the cook "no olives" who looked quite annoyed by the sudden change and then said I'll give the olives with no charge. Taste of food was ok overall but I don't like that I had to warm my food in the microwave after just purchasing it and that my meat was not chopped the way it was requested, the request wasn't even reflected on receipt. This place sucks. I usually order through Uber Eats and they NEVER include the sauces on the side that I pay extra for. Even when I go in person, they conveniently forget to give you your extra sauce and have an attitude when you ask for your PAID FOR extra sauce. They act like they're doing you a favor. They are falling off. Ever since the staff changed its not as good. I got a salmon salad from them later night and instead of the honey saratcha he put hot sauce all over it ‍ I didn't realize it until I got home. The salmon was dry and flavorless.
