Jerk chicken over fries
Stephanie A.

Ordered jerk chicken over fries and I was so sad to see how small my order was. I've been coming here for years and I could tell the difference right away. Are they under new owners? The new containers are nice but definitely skimpy. The fries were also shoestring fries they never used those before. I'm going to stick to halal grill eats their trays are huge!

Small takeout spot, but big on flavor! Halal Bros is clean, fast, and packed with topping options to customize your meal. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and everything is fresh and delicious. Great value for the price, I'll be back!

Oh myyyy!! Like any foodie I have a bunch of places saved on my maps at all times to go check out. So when I found myself picking up my friend from JFK, it only made sense to stop by here and grab some food as I waited for her to disembark her plane. First of all, this place is poppin. It's mostly to-go service. You can see the chicken being cooked on the grill. It was quite busy even on a weekday night at 11 PM. Service was super friendly, the cashier was knowledgeable and suggested some sauce combinations, even went out of her way to make me try a piece of the jerk chicken with the dragon sauce before ordering. SO freaking delicious. I ended up ordering jerk chicken over rice and a jerk chicken quesadilla, both of which were phenomenal. The jerk chicken is appropriately spiced but not super spicy so you can definitely pair it with any sauce of your liking. Their sauce selection is huge and I can't wait to be back around JFK to try this place again. Definitely a must-go!!

After seeing this place all over Instagram I had to try it for myself plus it's halal so I figured I can't go wrong. Ordered the jerk chicken over rice and zinger burger combo. The zinger burger was delicious and filling. The jerk chicken over rice had the right flavors but unfortunately I found a hair mixed in with some of the chicken which isn't very appealing. One day I'll hope to give them another chance just not right now.

Jerk Chicken & Lamb Over Rice Combo (~$13)

Ordered: Jerk Chicken & Lamb Over Rice Combo (~$13): comes with salad, sauces (I chose white and dragon), pita bread, and a drink (I chose Calypso Island Wave Lemonade) Aya's take: I came here for the jerk chicken and it did not disappoint. Plenty of meat in the platter with great, savory flavors and seasonings. The mix of white and dragon sauces is a MUST! My only mistake was getting the lamb too instead of a full platter with jerk chicken. Nothing wrong with the lamb but it tastes just like tons of other halal spots while the jerk chicken is actually unique to them. Well worth a try!

Heard so many great things about Halal Bros Grill so couldn't wait to try it. The location is on Sunrise Highway and there is no parking so that was a mess. The location was very clean and great customer service. I'm not sure what I was expecting but i ordered the JerkChicken over Rice Combo platter which comes with salad, pita bread and a canned beverage. It was good not spicy at all and nothing to rave about. I guess I expected something phenomenal but it wasn't bad. I wouldn't return because of the location so maybe I will try another location and something else off the menu

This place is always packed no matter what day and time we've gone. Such great value and taste. For $10.50 you get so much food - I've never finished it in one sitting. I've had the lamb and rice and the chicken and rice and both are delicious. The chicken is juicy and flavorful. My fave sauces are the white, spicy white, and jerk. Parking is a bit hard to find which is why there's always some traffic around this spot since it is in a small strip with other restaurants. Some people double park in front but I usually park in the back lot. This is take out only as there is no seating area to dine in. They usually get people in and out quick. You order at the counter on the left since the one on the right is for online order pick ups. For how many times I've gone in the past few months since moving here, this place gets 5 stars from me.

I had the pleasure of trying this spot out on September. 5th, 2023 & man oh man, it was AMAZING! Halal jerk chicken!- What else can a Muslim ask for? Lol. My co-worker recommended this spot to me & I'm so glad I tried it out. They have a decent sized free parking lot in the back, which is wonderful given street parking is kind of tough to find in this area. I travel a lot for food & this is the first spot I know of that has halal jerk chicken & other halal Caribbean options. Caribbean food is amazing, so when it is Halal, I am there! I was helped by a very sweet young lady. She was nice & explained the options & what kinds of different sauces they have available. I ordered the jerk chicken platter, jerk chicken quesadillas, fries & onion rings. Everything is fairly priced. My jerk chicken platter was so delicious. The spices & flavoring on the chicken were so unique & I've never had chicken that tasted like this before. The quesadillas were so warm & bursting with jerk chicken & veggies. The onion rings were perfect, as were the fries. Anyone looking for quality Caribbean food that too halal needs to come here! I will be back soon to try some of their burgers.

Spicy chicken sandwich, with sweet potato fries, and a halapino cheese burger
Norman J.

Yesterday was my first time trying the halal Brothers food .me and my wife put in a ordered thru grub hub.The order was missing my French fries. The food was tasty, I had a spicy chicken sandwich, which tasted delicious .I also had a double cheese burger ,we'll done .I have to admit the cheese was good . Seasoned just right, cooked well done just the way I like it.flame broiled right off the grill ,no complaints about it at all. The spicy chicken sandwich was on point and lived up to the hype I have been hearing about this particular sandwich. Seasoned good with a little bit of a crunch to it. There bun game was decent as well. My wife ordered a chicken quesadilla which she enjoyed, she said it was one of the best she has tasted. Only gripe I had with them was I was missing my French fries. I wanted to grade their fries, maybe next time I will get a chance to grade them, with a future order.

Meat not chopped well. I added my own olives when I got home
Tiya S.

I tried this Halal spot for the first time. I eat Halal food often but usually get it from my spot in BK on Coney Island Ave. This can not compare. Ordered a lamb gyro and lamb over rice with the salad. Got home which is not far from the location (5 mins) maybe) and went to eat my food which was COLD. Meat and rice was cold and lamb meat was COLD on gyro. I asked that the lamb be cooked well and chopped well, which usually means they take the meat that's sitting and put back on the grill and chopped up. Didn't happen! I originally asked for olives to be added (not accustomed to being charged for olives because they are typically part of the salad mix) and extra cucumbers (which I didn't get). When I saw that both were going to be a $1 extra I asked that the olives be taken off. Manager informed the cook "no olives" who looked quite annoyed by the sudden change and then said I'll give the olives with no charge. Taste of food was ok overall but I don't like that I had to warm my food in the microwave after just purchasing it and that my meat was not chopped the way it was requested, the request wasn't even reflected on receipt. Not a place I would have to revisit ‍

They definitely piled the veggies on, which I appreciated. However, the beef patty was not great texturally. There seemed to be an issue with consistency, three of us ordered the same burger cooked medium rare but our burgers were cooked with different levels of doneness. One was perfectly medium rare, one was very rare, and mine was in between with some parts that were rare. The rare parts felt (and looked) too much like raw ground beef, tasted mushy. It wasn't a big deal though because it was still edible. If I come back here, I would probably just order medium to be on the safe side. What actually ruined the patty for me was the chewy, rubbery gristle. The other burgers didn't have as much but mine had gristle in nearly every bite. Thankfully, the brioche bun and veggies kind of made up for the meat. The onion rings were really fried and super crunchy; they almost looked burnt. It was a little too fried for me but I still enjoyed it. The spicy barbecue sauce was really good and had a tiny kick. I preferred the spicy barbecue sauce to the garlic aioli. The aioli was too thick so I liked combining the two sauces. The fries were basic chain restaurant fries, crispy and fluffy. I would be happy with ordering either fries or onion rings again. However, I think the onions rings made the burger more enjoyable. Pretty big place with lots of seating. Quick and friendly service.

The space inside is pretty simple and minimalistic -- clean, modern, nothing overly fancy. It feels like the kind of place you pop into when you're craving a good burger without making a whole production out of dinner. They focus on smash burgers, so you get those crispy edges with a juicy center, which is always a win. Everything is 100% halal, which I appreciate, and the menu has a few fun options like the Jalapeño Thrill, Garlic Mushroom smash, and even a Morning Flare burger with a fried egg and beef bacon. There are chicken and veggie options too if that's more your speed. I kept it simple and ordered a burger with fries, and it really hit the spot. Nothing overcomplicated -- just a well-made burger, good flavor, and fresh ingredients. The kind of meal that feels satisfying without being too heavy. What I appreciate about this place is the menu has more options than 7th Street. Listening to my buddy Billy C who capitalized GARLIC MUSHROOM burger in his review made me intrigued, He was totally on the mark with this - I loved the pile of garlicky mushroom sitting on this burger. We paired this with the loaded fries which made a good shareable meal since we were not too hungry. Like 7th Street, Mexican coke is available if that is your thing. Other burger options include kimchi, jalapenos and fried egg in various configurations. Again like 7th Street, decor is unremarkable, but at least they have seating unlike most of the stand up tables in most 7th Streets Overall, this is a solid Bell Blvd option that should continue to thrive despite the dwindling bar/drinking culture that used to dominate this area.
