On October 4,2023 around 115am I went to Halal Bros to get some food. The original location in Queens 247-14 S Conduit Ave, Queens, NY 11422. I ordered a mix chicken and lamb salad. The young lady took my order which professionalism which I appreciated. I went over to watch my food be prepared which I always do. I notice the new female which I never seen before since I been coming here last couple of years was counting the pieces of meat while she prepared my order. I explained to her that's not enough meat(pause) and I will pay for extra. This disgruntled employee started to act very aggressive towards me by saying" what's your fucking problem!!, you have a problem with me? You want me to look out for you?" I told the other worker I explained that I don't want no favors and just wanted my food.I paid the extra money. I asked the other employee who's the manager and he said she is the one who was preparing my food. She refused to give her name. She's about 5'2 african Americans female. The food is always the same pretty good. But the customer service is horrible. I overstand that's its to find help. But people who spends their money should have to be disrespected like that. read more

TLDR: a local spot with good food & no dine in options that priced itself out of loyal once a week customers. I'd still recommend it, I'm just no longer a stan. Before they had delivery and card payment options. The food here is pretty darn good. The jerk is ok but if you're really concerned about quality jerk you'd just deal with the crappy customer service next door at Carribean Cuisine or a few blocks away @ Henricas. And if you wanted authentic Indian you'd go to Biryani House on Central. This is the place for a properly seasoned and tasty chicken/lamb over rice. The problem arises with 1) The price. They have literally doubled their prices. It went from 5 & change to 10/11 & change and that's without pita bread and drink. I understood raising the prices to 7 & change but what they did is just ridiculous price gouging and has turned the establishment from a neighborhood gem into just another option. For the same price of a non-combo I could go right down the street in either direction to checkers or sonic and get an entire meal and drink. And don't get me started on charging extra for extra sauces in brown neighborhoods. 2) The wait time. Whether it's their customers (it's always the person before you in line that has a long list or waits till they get to the front to start deciding what they want) or it's the fact they only have one grill cook so no matter how fast the cashier moves you'll find yourself holding up the wall eventually. This can be mitigated by ordering ahead but I like my food piping hot and I don't want to buy a hot meal just to throw it in the oven and dry it out for 25 minutes. 3) The rice. It's possible I had bad batches the last 3 times I went, but they were wet and clumpy on top of never being seasoned. 4) Ordering online with notes. It's a toss-up whether they're gonna get it right or not. TLDR: a local spot with good food & no dine in options that priced itself out of loyal once a week customers. This spot earns all of the great reviews it has received. The food it always very fresh and quite delicious. The service is fast and the staff is accommodating to your preferences. There is parking in the check cashing lot, although many cars are parked right on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant. The menu is quite extensive and there is a variety of delicious sauces you can top your dish with as well as many vegetable combinations. This is a great spot for salads. The jerk chicken salad has been consistently good and the gyro are really good as well.

I would give this establishment a higher rating if is wasn't for the slick comments made by the young man preparing the food. When a customer asks for more white regardless if it's salad or over rice shouldn't be an issue. The ratio to salad and sauce was inadequate so I requested more. If you want to charge me for more sauce I will happily pay but I wasn't charged more so the snide comment was not needed. Customer service is a major part of all businesses, they should try learning how to keep their comments to themselves or at least wait until the customer leaves. Food is good though. read more
