Before the event, I spoke with the owner, Numan, and we agreed on a total price of $10,000 cash, which had to be paid two weeks before the party. They would not accept a check or credit card, so I paid as requested. Unfortunately, during the event, the food ran out after serving only about 70 men and 60 women. Many of my guests did not receive any food. I immediately told Numan that there was not enough food. He left for about 25 minutes and then returned without any additional food. When I asked where the food was, he said he had called other restaurants but no one had any food available. I believe he actually went to his own restaurant, but regardless, he returned empty-handed. He then insisted there had been plenty of food, even though many of my guests had not been served. This experience was extremely disappointing and embarrassing, especially after paying $10,000 in advance. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Addye BBQ. I expected them to provide enough food for the number of guests we agreed upon and to take responsibility when there was a problem. Instead, I was left with many hungry guests and no solution. read more

Don't come here expecting it to be like the Addy's in Jersey because I totally did and when there wasn't cheese like pouring out of the burger I was disappointed. That's not to say anything taste wise was disappointing or anything because the cajun mac was fire but manage your expectations. Don't expect anything BBQ BBQ (ribs, brisket, etc) on the menu either because a lot of menu items do not exist at this location. The chicken amarillo used to be my favorite at the astoria location and while this one did not meet the same standards and was in fact totally different, it was solid. This place is a never again for us. We had some hopes after knowing they were previously affiliated with the Addys in NJ. The corn bread should be labeled corn cake. Disgustingly dense and strangely sweet. The fries were clearly purchased and reheated. We ordered chicken Amarillo. It had a strange flavor that made me only eat half the wrap I ordered and use fries and sprite as a mouthwash. My wife ordered chicken fried chicken which was good. The accompanying mashed potatoes were not good. I am going to get food from another spot now. If you make it here just keep driving to the Addys in NJ Service was great though which makes this experience even more disappointing read more

Addy's BBQ does have pretty good food, particularly the onion rings and steak (I would pass on the burgers). However, the service is absolutely awful so if I do eat here again, it would be strictly for take out. Ranging from waiters giving people the wrong food and taking over an hour to serve one family without compensating for it in any way, I would definitely not recommend dining in. read more

A group of friends and I came here after some bowling nearby. This place is casual with a welcoming atmosphere, serving halal barbecue with Indian cuisine influences. The Yelp check in offer was conveniently a free Mango Lassi drink, which I was already planning on getting. The Mango Lassi was absolutely delicious and beautifully bright yellow with darker orange drizzles of mango syrup. It was refreshing, sweet, thick, and milky creamy. I ordered the BBQ beef short ribs (even though I prefer BBQ pork ribs), which came with fries and corn bread. It was also supposed to include deep fried onion straws, but they were out of that, which was disappointing. I definitely missed that crispy component. There was a generous amount of the beef short ribs smothered in house special BBQ sauce, with bold smoky flavor. The beef ribs were amazingly melt in your mouth succulent and well seasoned. I also enjoyed the corn bread, which was light, crumbly, and satisfyingly buttery. Service was pretty good and our waiter was friendly, as well as on top of it. Was in town earlier today after a long time and I came across Addys for the first time after a few of my friends told me about this establishment and thought that I'd give them a try. I was told to order both masala wings and Cajun wings. Wings both had great flavor and tenderness but they were cold. Then I tried their Jucy Lucy burger which had fried onions and onion rings inside, the burger bun and Patties were a little undercooked but had amazing flavor. The 4 cheese blend was delicious. I then ordered the beef short ribs and all I have to say is WOW! Sweet and tangy with a little stick to them. Tender short rib falling off the bone! So delicious. I had previously been to the Addys in Edison NJ and wanted to surprise my son what a shock I got this place is nothing like that. We had a baby with us and they had no high chairs for one there us nothing BBQ about this place. We ordered the Rib eye steak it wasn't bad but the mashed potatoes were horrible and the salted vegetables were loaded with Cajun seasoning. My son ordered the He'll burger it came raw on the bun he couldn't even eat it. We ordered appetizers. Jalapeño poppers which were clearly reheated, cheesy garlic bread which was so loaded with cheese the bread was soggy and popcorn chicken for the baby which we found out was fried with fish in the same oil which my son is highly allergic to fish and we were not told beforehand. The only thing I can say was the Mac and cheese was good. They offer drinks in bottles and cans not like a real restaurant so for a $150 bill I would've gone elsewhere cause I now have to go b my meals for 3 people who couldn't eat the food. Not only that watch your bill the gratuity is already added in on the bill. I know the history and long story short, I figured they would have the OG Addy's menu items. They had the burgers, but they didnt have the BBQ Short Ribs on the QR code menu ( I didnt see any steaks either, bummer). I had the Garlic Asiago Wings and Beef Chili Quesadilla which were both really good. I also got the Chicken Alfredo Spaghetti, which was an abomination lmao. Seriously, it was really bad. I guess that's on me for ordering alfredo at a halal restaurant, but Chef Adnan used to make it perfect and I figured they were still using his recipes (from the taste of it, they arent). When I think of bbq joints I think rustic, wood fire oven, brick walls. Addy's is the opposite of that. It was very clean, good food & pleasant but slow service. They offer chips and salsa as well as a craft of tap water for free. Chips were warm and nice and the salsa was a nice touch. I had the atomic wings- it was tangy, saucy with a little bit of heat, their classic cheese burger which was big enough for two and quite juicy. We arrived after 8 on a Monday night and were the only people in the restaurant. It's an odd set up. The right side of the restaurant looks like a restaurant but the view in front of you when you walk in is definitely more fast food takeout. I ordered the juicy Lucy which I asked to be very well done, and mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese came first as if it was an appetizer. If was a nice sized portion. I wasn't expecting the garlic flavor. I tend to like more of a cheddar taste. But it was quite good. The burger arrived a few minutes later and I knew right off it wasn't going to be well done. It hadn't cooked long enough. It was very impressive to look at - a big burger with cheese running off and an onion ring on top. The flavor was good but I couldn't get over the cook. The server was very nice and wanted to replace it but I knew it would take too long. So I sort of ate around the edges. There was very little cooked to my liking. And I was charged full price for a meal that I clearly couldn't eat. Hopefully my dog will be happier than I was. One complaint. You could add fries and slaw for an up-charge. But you could only add plain fries. I wanted to add masala fries. I would have understood a higher up-charge but I was just told NO. I had to order a full side order. I don't think that was a smart move. Better to keep the customers happy. The menu was very interesting - all sorts of different choices. I'd like to come back another time and try something different. Maybe. The more I sit here, the more I think probably not. Basically the restaurant had great potential but it just flopped. Came on a Sunday. I was worried it would be busy but it wasn't. We were able to get a parking spot right in front of the door. It's a shared parking lot with no lines but I feel like there's probably typically plenty of parking. Its on a main road so it's conveniently located. We went in. It is older appearing on the inside than I had expected but no problem the set up is still nice. We were seated right away which was good too. The table we wanted wasn't cleaned yet so we ended up sitting somewhere else which was fine. They use white cloth tablecloths which is classy but can get very messy and stained easily since they use so much seasoning....our table cloth had a few stains and we left out leaving a few ourselves. The waiter was nice. We had Chicken Mashaki (I think it's called) and chicken over rice with beef added. They were really good! The mashaki was kinda spicy for me but it was really good my son loved it also. We also had Strawberry Lassi. Which was new to me. All of this was new to me actually lol! Fun experience. Amazing fusion of American bbq and halal food. Everything has a unique, but enjoyable flavor. When you sit down you get warmed tortilla chips and salsa - a very Mexican staple. However the salsa has a unique flavor that's sweet and delicious. Not your average bar food salsa. Next, the burgers are marinated kabob style. Unlike your average American burgers, the basic burger has a explosion of flavor spices that's unique and amazing. Even the bun is high quality. It is perfectly toasted with a soft inside. Finally we ordered the chicken mishkaki - sizzling chicken. It's another delicious dish swimming in spices and marinade and utterly to die for. The ch I ken was tender and red with flavor and the onions and peppers were soaked in sauce and just as good as the chicken. This is an amazing discovery with superb food. Finally. Got here tonight and my mom, daughter, and I are the only ones here. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. That's nice to start off with. Make sure you check in to get a free mango lassi. And they gave us chips to start. To me this restaurant seems like a mish mosh. They don't seem to know what kind of restaurant they want to be. They have burger and chicken sandwiches and the some more ethnic foods like chicken/beef mishkaki and then corn bread and Mac n cheese and a ton of fries and fajitas. They're all over the place. But the food looks good in the pictures on yelp so I'm excited to try them. Considering I saw pictures of the chili burger absolutely covered in chili I'm disappointed in how little chili I got but damn it was delicious. I really would have loved more chili. Had there been more, I gladly would have gone up to 4 stars. Both mom and I ordered our burgers well done. Mine wasn't as thick as moms and came out better than hers. Hers was barely medium. The Mac n cheese was a hit with my daughter. I also enjoyed it but my mom just said so so. We ordered the masala fries. The guy warned me they're not crispy and that's ok with me. If you like crispy don't get these. If you don't like spicy don't get these. While delicious they sent me into a coughing fit. Haha. Thank goodness for the white sauce! Good combo then. Before we moved to NYC, we were living in NJ and were huge fans of the Addy's in Teaneck. When we moved to Queens and found out there was an Addy's nearby, we had to check it out because we loved the NJ one. We asked the owner if they were the same chain - he said they used to be, but decided to go separate ways. That being said, the food is legit AMAZING. It always hits the spot, and is one of our go-to halal food restaurants. We arrived around 6 PM on a Friday and were the only ones in the restaurant, however, by the time we left around 7:30, all the tables were full. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. The mac n cheese is my weak spot, highly recommend. We also got the blackened cajun burger, the Addy's cheese melt, and a side of fries. You can't go wrong with anything on this menu!!
