No one tried to upsell me or put me in a skate that wasn't absolutely best for me. I went in wanting Pianos and to my surprise, left ordering Ice Fly's which also saved me a few hundred on such a large purchase. When I told some soccer friends that my daughter had a game a Pioneer Park in Peoria, they suggested we stop by this nearby store to look for some new cleats. After a bit of research (ie: on their website), I learned that "Soccer Post is the largest retail specialty soccer chain in the United States, and that Soccer Post Arrowhead is a family-owned and operated store for soccer players and enthusiasts of all ages." While unfortunately, we left our visit empty handed due to the cleats my daughter wanted not being in stock in her size, I was pleased with the overall selection, friendly staff, prices, etc... I would definitely return if in the area and in need of soccer stuff!

When I arrived to pick up my reservation, none of the gear had been prepared. I spent over an hour in the store while employees searched for equipment, including the cookset I had reserved. I was eventually given a Jetboil stove and separate cookset, but no one explained any compatibility limitations and the only instruction was provided after I specifically asked. On the trip, while boiling water for dinner, the stove caught fire and we extinguished it immediately. When I returned the gear and explained what happened, I was told I would be charged for the damaged equipment. The most disappointing part of the experience was the interaction with the owner. Rather than discussing what happened professionally, he told me he couldn't believe someone could be "so stupid" and that the employees were all laughing at me in back for not knowing that I could only use one of the two pots they rented me with the stove and said I should have Googled it before renting it (not that the brand or model was listed on their website). Mistakes happen. Had this been limited to a reservation mix-up or equipment issue, I probably would not be writing this review. What turned me away permanently was the way the situation was handled afterward. As a final note, the store called me three days after I returned the equipment because it had not been checked back into their inventory system and they wanted to confirm I had actually returned it, so their inventory management issues didn't seem like a one off.
