We've been here 3 times now and the food quality each time was great. Each time we always get the Karak Chai which tastes authentic. We got the Chicken 65 the first time and on our most recent visit we got the Majestic Chicken. We liked both but the Majestic Chicken was amazing! It came with a large roti so we split the roti and chicken portions in half and ate it burrito style and enjoyed it. Tables were also pretty clean. Service was efficient despite the late night (they close at 2AM we were there around 10:00PM and 11:30PM). This will definitely be one of our regular late night spots. read more

(10/10) onion small samosas were a banger, absolutely crunchcy, yummy with piping hot potato onion filling. 3/5: Bun maska was out of the world first time but were just mid the 2nd time around. 4/5: Chai is pretty good. 3/5: Chicken 65 with rumali roti. I visited Karak chai with a few friends on a chilly evening, and it turned out to be exactly kind of place we were looking for. We started with their signature chai and it did not disappoint. We tried the Bun Maska, Zafrani Chai, Dahi Puri, and Sandwich. The food was good, but the portion sizes were definitely on the smaller side. The service could use some improvement, it took quite a while for our order to arrive, and once it did, we felt the staff was indirectly rushing us to finish so they could seat the next guests. The ambiance and decor were nice and created a pleasant atmosphere, but the overall experience was a bit let down by the service and portion sizes. read more

Update: Went for the second time tonight and this place is now my go to spot for Chaat!! Kush, the guy who mans the chaat cart absolutely knows what's what. The flavors, ingredients, the chutneys and the perfect assemblage of it all. Never thought a chai cafe would serve such amazing chaat but here we are. Got the dahi puri and sev puri, and both were wow. Also had the chicken 65 and other than the fact that it was very yummy, the portion was huge! I take food here when I am around this area. Their service is good. Has a casual vibe. I like their Chicken 65 and rumali. It's slightly different and better than most places. But the surprise hit for me is their goat biryani and the osmania biscuits. Their biryani has right mix of flavors with soft goat meat that brings memories of Hyderabad. Meat can do with a bit less bones, but can't complain on the taste. Plenty of seating. Open late night. Overall, a restaurant I like to visit. read more

I heard good things about this spot and finally gave it a try. The space is a decent size and the Irani Chai was ok comparable to other good places ive visited. However, the biscuit was out of this world. The samosas were tasty, and the Bhel Puri (chaat) was absolutely awesome. While the chicken biryani was just okay, ill definitely be back to explore more of the chaat menu and try the ginger n lemon tea. read more

So we used to come to the old place which was tandoori and curry and now finally gave a shot to this new one "karak chail". They been advertising this place for few months now. Interior has been revamped to make more room for fast customers to drink and leave. The menu is mix of food and drinks. Limited drinks surprisingly. The place has music so bit dissatisfied with that. The karak chai itself was a bummer. Its masala chai. Karak chai should not have masala. The irani chai was better. We got the dum chicken biryani to test how it was compared to prior. Im not exactly sure if its same owner as before, but the sad part is for dine in they served the hot food in plastic containers as if it was to go. We came for dine in and serving in plastic utensils, plates and containers. Biryani rice didnt have much flavor, ok they provided 2 pieces of chicken (one thigh and one leg) the chicken 65 which isnt my speciality but my friends said if was good. The dum biryani was not dum, just a play on name. More like chicken pulao with food coloring. Its like an attempt to copy deccan morsels with more seating tbh. The chai at bundoo khan or pakwan is better. Also for dine in, the chai cups are you plastic to go and the size of cups (8oz) was not enough for $4 a masala/karak chai. But folks in bay area dont care for quality and will pay so yea lol The gulab jamun came cold. Not even warmed up. Highly disappointed. We ordered the karak chai, pani puri, and vegetable samosas. The karak chai was really good--strong, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. The veggie samosas were crispy and delicious as well. We ordered pani puri, but were told it would take about 30 minutes to prepare. The owner was very nice and explained everything, but we didn't want to wait that long, so he suggested we try dahi instead. We tried it for the first time and it was really good and fresh. Stale samosa hard as rock , stale pineapple pastry chicken 65 and romali roti was ok

Got there at 12:25 pm on Sunday, their hours are listed to open at 11:30 am. They were not quite ready yet. Waited 10 mins for them to open. Ordered 2 chais and 4 samosas. Waited another 20 mins and received the chais. Waited another 15 for the samosas and they only gave me 2 even though their menu says the order is for 4. Terrible place I hope they close soon so something better can be there. read more
