The most delicious Pakistani food I've had in the United States. We got the beef kabobs, haleem, beef nihari, garlic naan, and a falooda for dessert. The quality of the meat used for the kabobs was incredible, and the haleem and beef nihari were also incredibly delicious and made with very good quality beef. Sometimes may be a little over the top but that's karachi , we got the gol guppa and chaat which were great! also got that nihari and karhai which were really good. I've wanted to go to this restaurant for almost a year, but was never in the area. I regret not coming sooner. For starters, I had the papdi chaat. It is a very large portion, generously covered in yogurt and chutneys. It was surprisingly slightly spicy, and the flavors mixed really well. Next I had the chicken kadhai with garlic naan. This is the first time I've ordered garlic naan from a restaurant where the garlic is not burned. You can taste the fresh garlic, and the naan is soft and warm. The chicken was very tasty and juicy. The gravy in the kadhai was amazing. Finally, I ordered the ras malai- the best tasting ras malai I had in my life. I will be back. Not only is their food amazing, but they have a kids menu!! This review is based on take out order and to SAVE you $37 on their chicken kadai. I ordered over the phone. It was hard to find a current menu and took suggestions from an employee possibly the owner. I was recommended to try their CHICKEN KADAI by as I was looking for korma and they didn't have that. She said it's one of their best. It's NOT!!! and it's $37 with tax. AND it has chicken wings in it that doesn't have meat. I've never seen desi cooking with chicken wings. They are added to provide quantity of meat to justify the high price of $37. It's in an undercooked tomato based curry and all you taste is tomatoes and nothing else. That was money wasted. Biryani- flavors were very good with right amount of spice but with only two pieces of meat that were mostly bones. Chicken kebab- by far the best. They are bit spicy but the spices are blended in so well and tasted delicious. Meat is cooked well. It was my favorite dish. I can't justify paying $37 for a dish in a restaurant of this level. This was the cutest little place! I loved it. It was so pretty inside. The playing was pretty, the seating was pretty. It was just so cute. I had the two samosas which came with a little sweet sauce. Delicious. The buttered chicken was spicy but delicious. I got medium and as a Hispanic, I must say, the spicy for this culture is a different level. None the less DELICIOUS. Very tasty. Food is great even if you take it out, got the zinger burger, which post satisfied all the post call cravings...iykyk. Went into Angelo's right next door with my friend the other day and I saw this restaurant next door and told him we should check it out one day. So we went in and the ambience was super cool. The food does the talking for itself . We ordered Chicken Karhai , Nihari , Biryani and Chicken seekh kabab . These are quintessential Pakistani delicacies and they passed with flying colors in all of them . Not many places in US can do justice to Nihari but this place definitely can do that and more . Nans were soft and fresh . Also ordered Falooda and Kashmiri tea and again they didn't disappoint . Falooda is as good as anywhere on the globe . Now a few words about the ambiance which is actually the best part of this place . They have put a lot of thought and effort in evolving this place to reflect the culture . FOOD: Chicken Karahi Very generous portion for the price. It was not a Karahi.. more of a saucy Chicken Salan. Trust me on this I know a thing or two about Karahi. Chicken Biryani Points on Presentation and also for half a Potato which all Karachites love. But that was all. The chef over powered the Biryani with Star Anise and it was at a point you want to skip it after 2 bites. Naan Plain Naan was not cooked properly we ordered 4 and could.barely finish 2. As most of them were not cooked properly and were rolled out in a hurry. As some were too doughy on sides. Papri Chaat Excellent Papri Chat .. a bit too salty and lacks some.sweet tamarind chutney which we requested to get more and was served. Bun Kabab This outside of Karachi is most authentic Bun Kabab. Love the taste. Biharee Boti Roll Well liked by the person who ordered it. Zinger Roll Well liked by the person who ordered it. Fries with entries Every batch was cooked to perfection and extremely tasty. Mango Lassi Mango Lassi was acceptable. Nothing extraordinary. Falooda Now this is not what Falooda expected from a true Karachite. A bit too watery or should I say I had better. Overall the place is a good choice if you are in the area visiting looking for traditional Desi food. Bit pricey though. I will not make a special trip to South Jersey for this. Staff from the front of the house needs more training. As there were 3 people attending but had to continously ask for utensils and sauces. Food also came in delays where we didn't get out appetizers or food together. I get there is staffing issues but we were not rushing them. I will rate them 3.5 out of 5 stars. I write this review as I sit in the actual restaurant. The decor is pretty cheap - it consists of large pictures on walls of Pakistani monuments and tourist locations plastered as wall paper. The ceiling gives the impression of bronze tiles but in actuality they are plastic (I felt them). For the drinks, they supplied canned sodas (3$ per each can of soda) with disposable plastic cups and wholesale bottle water (2$ per each bottle) . Appetizers: We ordered chicken lollipops (these arrived 45 minutes after we put in the order and we're not really that good - overly saucy and slimy) and chicken wings (half were cold and semi-frozen, they were large bulk type of wings from wholesalers with uncooked sauce on it). So far the only consistent item is the Coca-Cola in the aluminum can. Entree: Club sandwich with regular fries - the presentation was pretty nice. The fries were cooked through and were crispy and tasty. The sandwich itself tasted well - the sauce on the chicken pieces were flavorful and pleasing to the palate. Overall, pretty well. Beef mentor (glorified cheeseburger with too much sauce) with masala fries - the fries were the same as above but with some masala sprinkled on it. The burger was horrible - the beef patty of the burger was not seasoned at all and the consistency of the patty was nasty. The extreme amounts of sauce sliding out of it just made it unappetizing; the only good thing about this burger was the buns. A burger should not rely majority of its taste in the sauce but the actual patty - it's natural and added flavoring. Overall, not great. Aflatoon burger with fankar fries - before I ordered, I asked what this burger consisted of. It's basically a fried crispy chicken patty on top of a beef patty. The burgers was simply atrocious. The beef patty was the same as the one mentioned in the beef mentor. The crispy chicken patty was tasteless and the chicken was rubber-like in texture. The burger had nothing that was the least bit enjoyable. The fries on the other hand were pretty good. They are regular fries with an assortment of mixed melted cheeses with masala and jalapeños on top). Overall for the price, your not getting much in terms of food. You are literally paying for subpar ambiance put together by antiques, relics, picture of tourist locations (from pakistan) that is made into wallpaper throughout the place. This restaurant places emphasis more on decor than the actual taste. I will say this. I came a while ago with a large group and we ordered an assortment of desi food. The food was fine, it wasn't anything spectacular so I thought let me give it another try. However, I think this will be my last time going there. read more

I did my research and I was not drawn to the Kafe, simply because the pictures serves in my opinion, not justice, to what the Kafe looks like inside. It is is bigger. It is flavourful both for n color and taste. It's buzzing in n terms of all the effort put in to capture Karachi. So many details that catches the eye Or maybe it was just us missing immensely KHI. We was served by understanding and patience staff, that recommended an excellent bouquet of food. We had samosas served in a scooter and with tamarind sauce. Tasted homemade. Hakka noodles with chicken, that tasted great. Garlic mayo chicken roll with garlic mayo fries. Fries crispy and the roll had all the good ingredients that made it a mouthwatering experience. Chicken nuggets (kids) chicken makhni, mix grill and chicken biryani. Chicken makhni was so finger licking good that it could be eaten with only spoon. The mixed grill had meat that was spicy and juicy and density that gave us an awesome taste. Biryani had a great taste. It was served in a authentic ceramic bowl. If I ought to be very picky, the part of the rice could be more densely, but the taste was great. We ended with Falooda which was the perfect end to a great meal. Yes, we were 2 adults and 3 kids, did have to ask for a to go box. I would also point out that the staff was attentive and service minded, and without them I do not think we would have had same good experience. This place is fantastic. Just moved to the area, we stopped in and got basic things to try - chicken makhani, naan, a burger. Everything was REALLY good. The raita went well with everything, the mayo garlic fries are phenomenal, the spice was just right (might be a bit much for less adventurous diners, but that ain't me). The service isn't exactly "you say jump, i say how high", but that's not why I come to places like this, and if you're expecting that kind of thing, just go to Olive Garden. We were treated very well, and the ladies even made suggestions to help enjoy our meal, like offering my tea after dinner instead of with our drinks. Finishing off the night with the chai and a little biscuit was perfect. We came in with our kids and was about to sit but once we saw her condition and knowing she would be handling our food, we had to get up and leave. I have never tried Pakistani food before so I can't offer a comparison, but what I can tell you is that my meal was delicious! I started with the sweet corn soup. It says small on my receipt but it was a bowl. Happily that just meant I got to take some home for later! Also, it came to the table HOT, not like some places where it's just warm. The woman who helped me suggested the Chicken Malia burger with garlic Mayo fries. Excellent choice! Juicy chicken, flavorful seasoning, just delish! This place was kind of cool. I liked the colorful interior. The wall art was pixelated in some areas though so I think it would look a lot better if they spent the money having it professionally painted rather than blown up pictures from the internet. The service was about 1.5/5 stars for me. We had to keep asking for things and my canned *warm* sprite wasn't brought out until the end. There were also a few flies buzzing at my table which was quite bothersome. The food was like a 3.5/5 stars in my opinion. The Makka noodles were very good, the biryani was not my favorite, mango lassi was amazing, and beef kabobs were good. All in all, it was an ok place. It wasn't awful but not amazing either. You can tell the owners really care about their business and it definitely shows in all the effort they've put in creating this beautiful place.
