Everything has been fresh and flavorful. Really well done. I always take out and it's really good classics and good value.

^ ^ (* *) ¥…read more ~ I went to the Crab Cove on the recommendation of a fellow Yelper who said that this place has good food for an even better value, and boy, were they right. The location is on the corner of Grant Ave and Mt. Ephraim Ave in Haddon Township, on the border of The City (Camden is literally across the street). It does not accommodate guests who want to eat in, although you could if you really wanted to, at one of the two table in the small dining room. I bought a dozen blue claw crabs with mild seasoning which came with potatoes and 4 corn cobs. I also bought a two 10 piece fried shrimp platters that came with French Fries - plus a homemade iced tea. The total was $66.88. Not bad for all that food! The flavor of the crab seasoning was great -- not overly salty -- and ample spices. I had three crabs of the batch because I was sharing. All of the crabs were a good size, but one of mine was mushy. The other two were excellent. I'd visit again to try their crawfish because I have never ever had them and folks keep telling me they're good.

While I usually order too much food, I ordered one of their smaller meals. And it was still too much food! It took me two days to eat it. The snow crab and shrimp combo came hot and seasoned well. There's several spice levels, so I might take a few visits to figure out which one is for you. I know I said that I didn't over order. But I did add sausage and a side of mussels, which were very good. The best thing about this place, besides how good their food is, is their prices. The quality and quantity really is a bargain compared to the same types of businesses locally in South Jersey and Philly. One last thing. The wings made here some of the best seasoned wings I've had. While it was ordered with a sauce, I would've enjoyed it just as well without it. Great food. Great value. Great service.

From their bread basket with butter and pesto spread, their soup special (shrimp bisque) and entrees were nothing but quality. My only concern (not complain) was that the pesto spread was taken away while my wife was still finishing her bread and trying to take some the spread - nothing major, but guess they were trying to make room on the table for the entrees (I guess). We finished with their desserts (Tiramisu, tres leche and creme burlee). Will definitely be back and not to forget it's BYOB.

We made a reservation for 8:30 and arrived about 20 minutes early so we were expecting to have a little wait before our table was ready. The place was jam packed! Even trying to find a seat at the large bar to have a cocktail before dinner was virtually impossible but we wound up finding one. The bartender made really great drinks so we were very pleased while waiting for our table. Once seated we were provided with water almost immediately and our server arrived shortly after. We put in our drink and appetizer order and then the amazing bread with peppers arrived (complimentary) and we were like two kids in a candy shop. I don't know what they do to those peppers but they're delicious ... and pair perfectly with what I call their pizza bread. Appetizer and drinks were superb and after putting in our entree orders they were placed in front of us in under 20 minutes - fresh, hot and delicious! Neither of us could finish the entrees so we asked for to go containers ... and we certainly gobbled the leftovers up the following day. Oh and there's complimentary valet parking (just tip the valets) which makes for a stress free entrance and exit from the busy parking lot. Giumarellos never disappoints and it was no different this time.

We had gone out to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday, and so glad we chose Mare Monte because it was a spectacular evening from start to finish. The food was excellent. We ordered an appetizer from the specials list (stuffed prosciutto with arugula, feta, watermelon and candied walnuts) plus two creamy pasta seafood dishes, one from the menu (penne dante) and one from the specials list. Our server was Mateo who was phenomenal and really brought the whole evening to the next level. Kind, attentive, professional and knowledgeable. She asked if we were celebrating anything, and I told her we were there for my girlfriend's birthday, and at the end of the night she brought out a complimentary tiramisu with a candle in it. This was also the best tiramisu I've ever had. All around a great evening with great food and great service. We'll definitely be back.

We also had an appetizer of escargot and it was delicious! Tiramisu was a generous portion as well.

I do not eat seafood and was confused by the fishy smell and presence of meat. Luckily it was a simple cross-table mixup. Furthermore, the mushroom gnocchi was horrible. It was made with pure whipping cream, which is probably a valid Italian approach, but it had to have been 100g of fat, and it tasted like warm thick milk, with no flavor and minimal mushrooms. I felt sick to my stomach the rest of the night. The restaurant was packed and tastefully decorated. They have a great signature cocktail list but I couldn't hear myself or anyone at my table. Average decibel level was 85 through the course of our 90 minute stay. My ears felt raw once I got outside. Lastly, it's a mandatory (and complimentary) valet for parking. Just be prepared. Out of all of my visits, my favorite is the weekend brunch menu. There are so many yummy things to choose from like the breakfast burrito, the banana Forester French toast, the various of Benedict's including crab, and there were a bunch of various breakfast sandwiches, but the most menu appealing one that I liked is the pork roll. On my last trip I wound getting a chicken brie apples bacon on brioche bread. It was a special of the day. From the moment I bid into it, I knew I would love it for the savoriness, the crisp and sweet tasting bread. There was a side of potatoes... Very nicely seasoned and the perfect crunch to them. On my last visit, it was a total of 10 people in our group and the customer service was great. We were all able to pay with separate checks... Always a perk. It was a chance to refresh from the heat and grab a bite. With all the choice of restaurants, we did not choose well. The three of us were in there almost an hour to have lunch. Two of us ordered the shrimp kebab entrees, one ordered the chicken kebab. It took almost half an hour for those to come out. The shrimp plate had only THREE shrimp! For $21. The chicken plate had FOUR small pieces of chicken. Service was terrible and the food was just OK, although the vegetables were good. The surprise came when the bill was delivered. They do not provide change!!! If you pay a $61 check with a $100 bill, or any bills greater than the amount, you get nothing back! They just presume that's what you want to tip! I never heard of such a thing. We didn't have a lot of small bills with us after shopping at the festival, and had not expected such an absurd policy. So we paid as they requested, with exact change to meet the bill. The waiter got himself a 96 cent tip. No manager was available to ask why there was such a ridiculous policy. Let me start with the service...while our waiter was friendly she was not attentive to our table after taking the order. We noticed all the other tables had bread and we were sitting for 45 minutes after ordering our meals and did not get bread or even a refill or drinks or water. We got the attention of our server and asked for bread. 20 more minutes and she brought small basket with 5 pieces of bread (for a table of six waiting over an hour now). We asked for more and 10 minutes went by, so we asked again assuming they forgot. We were told it's in the oven. Finally, another small basket of 5 slices shows up in another 10 minutes. After 90 minutes our apps arrived. Seafood chowder was ok at best, raw clams were tasty, salads and dressings were very good. Our meals came soon after, but total wait from when we sat was 2 hours. Steaks were very good, salmon was average at best, seafood pasta was ok, halibut special was decent. Overall, the entrees were forgettable. We ordered desserts which were surprisingly fantastic. The rice pudding, crem brûlée, and their cheesecake/ice cream were all delicious. Now back to the service....by the time we finished dessert, not one water glass was refilled and the table wasn't bussed. We piled our empty appetizers and salad plates at the end of the table and they remained there the entire meal. I know many people had great experiences but this is a definite one and done as everyone in our party agreed.
