I live in town and have eaten here many times over the years and have always been satisfied. We usually do takeout. We got takeout here most recently on a Saturday night and the food was excellent as always. We got the chicken korma, chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, an appetizer sampler, and the lamb karahi. The food was ready quickly and was all perfect. In regards to spice, my girlfriend usually likes a little kick to her food and ordered hers medium, but had extreme difficulty eating her food as it was too spicy for her. The restaurant itself is a big, spacious room with great ambience. Located right in downtown Haddonfield and is BYOB; there are a few places close by to buy wine, beer or cocktails to bring to dinner with you. As others mentioned, you'll pay a bit more than your average Indian restaurant; this is typical of most places in Haddonfield, but the quality is good. read more

Dined here recently with friends and really enjoyed our dinner! Great selection of soups, salads, apps, and entrees. I had the mulligatawny soup which was served piping hot and was so flavorful, followed by the shrimp tandoori which came with a side salad (dressed perfectly) and rice. We also ordered the garlic naan for the table. Entree and naan were delicious and service was on point, friendly, and courteous. The dining room is decorated nicely and very spacious. Excellent!!!!! The food here is amazing. Fresh ingredients and the great mix of spices went perfect together. I had the fish curry spice level 8 and it was about the best I ever had. My wife had the chicken Marsala and she finished hers before I finished mine so I didn't even get a chance to try it. We both loved the naan as well. Service her is great we were checked in on just the right amount. Our server explained a thing or two on the menu for me. The decor here is great and overall cleanliness is A+. I would give this establishment 8 stars if allowed. The food is top notch. If you are like me and prefer chicken breast - most if not all are. The food is insanely good. When we go - it's an experience. We always get dessert - so we hold back on dinner and take leftovers home. The ambiance is amazing. The staff if friendly and attentive. The Irishman from Co. Cork was craving Indian, and since he was taking daily walks from my house to Haddonfield's main fare to lunch quite a few times while he was here for three weeks, he decided we should come here for dinner, his treat. Shamefully, I had never eaten here during the four years I've lived in Haddonfield, so it was lovely to step in and realize it had an upscale ambiance. The Irishman decided to order his two favorites chicken dishes, chicken tandoori and chicken biryani. I also wanted chicken biryani. The tandoori was so succulent and juicy. Winner winner, chicken dinner. I loooooved the biryani. It was a huge serving and could have easily fed two, so I ended up with leftovers since the Irishman "et" his up. We are local and used to frequent this restaurant for dinner and takeout. It really has gone downhill. We ordered takeout and asked for one dish to be a spice of 3/10 and I said mild when I ordered. That dish was so spicy (And I can tolerate spice) so much so my teen couldn't eat it. I called hoping that they would replace it. They did not do so without charging for a replacement. I let them know that I'm a frequent customer and that didn't matter to them. I cannot recommend this restaurant based on their lack of consistency with the food and poor customer service. read more

Coworker and I were looking for Indian food within a decent drive from office an hotel (en route home at end of day). Cross Culture seemed to fit the bill. Parking: we found parking on the street nearby, it's free after 6p. Haddonfield also has some parking lots if for some reason there's no street parking. Arrived after 7 there was a group there eating, but the sign said open and we were promptly seated in a circular booth. We had both done some research ahead of time off the menu online (and looked at yelp photos!) - we both wanted set meals (platter - like a thali). We also got samosas, and at the servers recommendation got samosa chaat. Samosa chaat is like... It's like if poutine compared to normal fries. Samosa chaat is probably always preferable to normal samosa unless you hate sauces. It's got white green and red sauce and chickpeas and it's really yummy. I got the non veg platter and my coworker got the veg platter. It was so much food! It has a little salad, naan, rice, various meat (veg) dishes, and dessert and raita. This is a great Indian restaurant in the heart of Haddonfield NJ. The food and service were both excellent and I would definitely go back again for my Indian cravings. They can make it as spicy as you want from a scale of 1-10. Of you want it hotter please ask them for Indian hot. Everything was homemade and fresh. From the different flavors of naan bread to the mixed tandoori grill. The lamb vindloo had great spices very flavorful and the meat was very tender. Each dish is accompanied y basmati rice which is made to order. We tried the chicken tikka masala and the chicken curry. The nasal had a sweeter taste to it and the curry was more flavorful. This is a very pretty restaurant for a date night. My husband and I went to dinner here with another couple and we enjoyed the food and ambiance. I was surprised how efficient the only waiter that was on duty was. He was a one man show. We started with shrimp over eggplant and veggie samosas, they were both were good. I hate eggplant but this was fried right . Our entrees were good and flavored just right. My husband had the sampler platter and the goat curry was in it was amazing. I thought the prices and portion size were a bit off but hey its Haddonfield. I cant believe i am doing an update after 12 years. Hadnt gone here in a few years but had a great meal on new years eve. Their flavors are still very consistent and authentic. Malai kofta navaratan korma dal makhani were all scrumptious as well as the baingan bhartha. Paneer tikka masala was a bit under seasoned which worked for the kids. The nans were nice and fluffy without much oil on them. If you are unsure the thali is a good way to try a bit of everything. Service was efficient. Went here for lunch with my parents on a lazy Saturday afternoon. There's plenty of seating but it's on main Street so might take a few minutes to find parking. The service was great and very accommodating. My mom is Jain (no onions, potatoes, or garlic) and they were able to make her a dish she really liked - paneer Tikka. Tandoori chicken was good. But asking for tikka sauce on the side of chicken tikka was turned down. Other Indian restaurants happily give you tikka sauce. Given there are many other Indian restaurants in the area Cross Culture no longer makes my list. read more

I live within walking distance to Ekta in Fishtown but I consistently venture across the bridge to Cross Culture instead when I want Indian food. Go with a group and get the mixed naan basket to share- so many great flavors. You can pick any spice level on any dish (1-10) and I love that feature. I picked 9 last time and thought they went a little easy on me, but I have a high spice tolerance. My two favorites are chicken vindaloo (red wine vinegar, cashmere red chillies) and karahi (ginger, garlic, tomatoes and onions). Apparently there's a lunch buffet too... looking forward to trying that sometime in the future. read more

Never heard of this place before, probably because of the name it doesn't stick out as an Indian restaurant, but decided to take a chance since it's hard to find really good Indian spots in south Jersey and a lot of places seem to phone it in. The space has these huge comfy booths and there were only a couple other tables taken up. I think the best compliment I can give is that after our meal I kept wondering "why isn't this place more crowded??" Even the mango lassi was the best one I've ever had in my life. We tried a bunch of different grilled tandoori meats, the tikka masala, paneer and another app that I can't remember the name- all of which were excellent, but even small things like the rice, naan and side sauces were absolutely stellar.
