Mulligatawny soup - lemony and delicious!
    D R.

Dined here recently with friends and really enjoyed our dinner! Great selection of soups, salads, apps, and entrees. I had the mulligatawny soup which was served piping hot and was so flavorful, followed by the shrimp tandoori which came with a side salad (dressed perfectly) and rice. We also ordered the garlic naan for the table. Entree and naan were delicious and service was on point, friendly, and courteous. The dining room is decorated nicely and very spacious. Can't wait to return!

First time at cross culture and I was very happy with my lunch. The Vegetable Samosas were crispy and full of flavor. We shared the Chicken Tikka Masala which is my favorite dish. The sauce was amazing with tender chicken. The sauce was so good I ordered a pint to go. And the chef special Biryani was very good and on the spicy side.

Update to my previous review is very simple: Still really great local Indian, in fact, I think this my new favorite place for Indian. They have really great Naan with nuts that other rivals don't seem to have. I like the signature dishes and it was in my house in a flash through Grub Hub.

Hands down the best Indian fusion restaurant in the local area. We go here often. It's never disappointed. Their naan is cooked to perfection in their tandoor. So fresh. All of their dishes are amazing. The only thing that's tough is finding a good parking spot. Doesn't matter it's all worth it.

Coworker and I were looking for Indian food within a decent drive from office an hotel (en route home at end of day). Cross Culture seemed to fit the bill. Parking: we found parking on the street nearby, it's free after 6p. Haddonfield also has some parking lots if for some reason there's no street parking. Arrived after 7 there was a group there eating, but the sign said open and we were promptly seated in a circular booth. We had both done some research ahead of time off the menu online (and looked at yelp photos!) - we both wanted set meals (platter - like a thali). We also got samosas, and at the servers recommendation got samosa chaat. Samosa chaat is like... It's like if poutine compared to normal fries. Samosa chaat is probably always preferable to normal samosa unless you hate sauces. It's got white green and red sauce and chickpeas and it's really yummy. I got the non veg platter and my coworker got the veg platter. It was so much food! It has a little salad, naan, rice, various meat (veg) dishes, and dessert and raita. Neither of us finished but it was so good. Service was good, everyone was friendly!

Until Jalsa opened we hadn't been able to find a restaurant over here where the food was as good as in India. Our meal today began with Jalsa's delicious mango lassi. My wife ordered her usual, Chicken Tikka Masala, and I, a seafood person, ordered the Malvani Fish Curry. Both dishes, accompanied with Kashmiri Naan, were truly wonderful, perfectly seasoned and beautifully prepared! Our traditional dessert, Gulab Jamun, topped off a fabulous meal. The restaurant is nicely decorated with beautiful hanging mosaic chandelier lamps. Authentic recorded Indian music is played at a perfect volume level, enabling conversation. Service is always spot-on, with timely checks to be certain that everything is ok. Our excellent waiter was friendly, helpful, and efficient. Jalsa is one of our favorite restaurants!

The variety of the menu was honestly very impressive, with even seafood curries to choose from. Specifically the Garlic Butter Naan was so much more crispy and flavorful here than I've ever had before. Warning for spice lovers: I got their curry in medium spice and it was extremely mild (definitely dulled down spice for Western tolerances, but I can't even handle that much and found it too mild). The server was correct when they told me it was mild. I'd go straight for Spicy level if you normally tolerate medium well. This was the one part that was disappointing for me about Jalsa, but it's fixable, so I'm not too annoyed. I'll be returning.

Human beings are funny that way. So for Father's Day, my wife booked a table for six at Mount Masala in Voorhees. This turned out to be an act of touching optimism. When we arrived on a Saturday night, only three other tables were occupied. We could have brought a small marching band and sat immediately. Still, the staff was warm, the room was pleasant, and we decided to order family style. Civilization occasionally gets things right. The sizzling chicken momo arrived first, hissing and steaming like a diva. Sadly, the spectacle outperformed the substance; it was essentially good food wearing a sequined jacket. The chicken tikka momo, however, was outstanding. They were tender dumplings smothered in a sweet, familiar tikka sauce that my boys attacked with an enthusiasm usually reserved for free money. My youngest ordered the chicken makai soup and delivered a concise, pro-level critique: "It's fine." My oldest enjoyed his tofu Manchurian, though his eyes kept wandering to better plates. The beef skinny noodles and chicken Hakku Bakku chowmein were massive and well-made, but they lacked personality. The chowmein tasted like a very good lo mein. Nothing wrong with that, just predictable. The undisputed star was the chicken choyla. It was smoky, spicy, and rich with mustard oil. If the other dishes were polite small talk, the choyla was the eccentric guest telling stories nobody had ever heard before. Everyone at the table kept reaching for it. As for the service, the staff was incredibly friendly but possessed a unique talent for vanishing. Despite the empty room, refilling water and securing extra napkins became a minor side-quest. But then the bill arrived: $120 for six people. These days, taking the family out can feel like financing a small yacht, so this felt like a genuine bargain. Mount Masala isn't perfect, but it's memorable. The choyla and the tikka momos gave me exactly what I've been hunting for: flavors that are unfamiliar, exciting, and well worth getting to know.
