The service was prompt and each member was ready to help. We got chicken platter and mix veg pakora - both were great. Mango Lassi and spicy guava mocktail - both fantastic. Entree we got chicken curry, navratan korma, tadka dal, and chicken biryani - all were stellar. Celebrated a birthday for which they put on a digital sign on the big screen! This place was good, with many different options. When we first arrived, I was amused by the decorations and how the place was styled. Our service was pretty fast, and we got the gobi appetizer which was great and very flavorful. The butter chicken was a little too thick and the lamb was maybe a tad bit too oily. A relatively new restaurant that definitely lived upto the hype. There was plentiful seating and extremely good Indian food. The service could have been quicker, but I'll give the place a pass because of its food and unique aesthetic. I like the family feel to this restaurant The ambiance and decor is creative. I really felt like I was taken from South Jersey into some middle eastern location. Let's talk food. Naan, you cannot go wrong with any, but we tried the onion sage and it was delicious. Spinach Chaat was delicious last time, so I ordered that again and it didn't disappoint. Salty, sweet, and crunchy! My friend and I also decided to try the soups and I cannot rave enough about the curried butternut soup. Our main dishes were Chicken Vindaloo and Butter Chicken. Spinach chaat and Punjabi samosa are two additional starters not to be missed. My wife and I have traveled all over India twice, eating outstanding meals, from street food to fine dining. Until Jalsa opened we hadn't been able to find a restaurant over here where the food was as good as in India. Our meal today began with Jalsa's delicious mango lassi. My wife ordered her usual, Chicken Tikka Masala, and I, a seafood person, ordered the Malvani Fish Curry. Both dishes, accompanied with Kashmiri Naan, were truly wonderful, perfectly seasoned and beautifully prepared! Our traditional dessert, Gulab Jamun, topped off a fabulous meal. The restaurant is nicely decorated with beautiful hanging mosaic chandelier lamps. Authentic recorded Indian music is played at a perfect volume level, enabling conversation. Jalsa's was a really great experience. From the moment you walk into this restaurant it is a great experience. The ambiance is beautiful, modern, clean and buzzing with energy. This restaurant was packed on Saturday night, we didn't have a reservation but was lucky to get a seat (make a reservation if you can). The food was really delicious and I enjoyed everything. My absolute favorite was the chilli chicken and I would 100000% recommend you try this dish. The others did not disappoint either: deconstructed samosa chaat, chicken tikki masala, lamb vindaloo, tandoori roti, mango lassi, masala chai tea. Service was really great. We did have to wait a bit for our food, thankfully we ordered appetizers. We came in because of the $20 coupon and things were fine until we got our food which was butter chicken and garlic naan. The naan was good but the butter chicken was so bland. We ordered medium but it didn't even seem like it was salted let alone spiced. My friend is Italian and she said the curry tasted like her mom's pasta sauce minus the seasoning. We were sharing a bowl and didn't even finish it. At some point one of the other servers came to our table and asked my friend if she was Indonesian(she's half chinese) He then started talking about how he studied abroad and learned the language before leaving. At the end of the meal, this same waiter came to our table to ask us to write a review. He watched us go on Google and told us to leave a review and mention our server, Derek. We tried to leave but he was standing at the end of our booth kind of gently pressuring us into writing a review. We went back to Jalsa last night after going about a week ago. It is always pretty busy when we come here, but the noise level is surprisingly low and you can sit wherever you would like. We were greeted by the friendly waiter who helped us last time. We had the Aloo Tikki Chaat as an appetizer and it was the perfect amount of spice and all of the flavors blended well together. The appetizer was pretty heavy and filled us up though. For entrees, we had the Reshmi Malai Kabab and Chicken Vindaloo. I really loved the kabab, it was so flavorful and tasty! Both of us really enjoyed our dishes and had to end up taking a lot of it home since they were large portions and filling. We had a $20 coupon to use as well due to their Grand Opening, which was a great deal! We will be back again soon! read more

A big thank you goes out to @southjerseyfoodscene for having me represent at this event. @iamthecurryblossom did any amazing job organizing and, of course, @jalsaindiankitchen for the amazing food. Jalsa is a beautiful restaurant with decor that will take you on a tour all over India. They have a party/banquet room that can host baby showers, weddings, birthdays, and so much more. A lot of attention has been paid to being able to set an ambiance that is hard to be matched. The beauty of the restaurant can only be matched by the beauty of the food. You can tell that so much thought and time is put into making sure every dish is prepared to their high standards. Every dish we had was carefully plated and served. I can't even pick a favorite dish because they were all great. The drinks were refreshing and paired very well. The Mango Lassi was just delicious! The service was extremely friendly, and the staff wanted to make sure your dinner was an experience to remember. The owners are amazing, and it was a pleasure to meet such humble and wonderful people. I really enjoyed celebrating Jalsa along with Indian culture and food. We were immediately made to feel welcome and appreciated by all of the staff. Our waitress Sam provided amazing service and anticipated our every need. For appetizers we got the spinach chaat and pani pair bomb. The spinach chaat was so fresh and flavorful. The pani pair bomb was such a unique dining experience. Sam demonstrated to our table how you make a hole in the shell fill it with the delicious flavorful stuffing and top it off with a spicy dressing and pop it your mouth to create a flavorful explosion. The tikki masala and paneer masala were flavorful with the perfect amount of spice and came with a generous portion of basmati rice. For dessert we had the kaffir pistachio chocolate cake which created a concoction of textures and flavors of pistachio and rich chocolate that are heavenly.
