my family frequently comes here and i finally got to try it out and it did not disappoint. ordered so many different options to share, all were chicken based meals and cooked perfectly. the food came out quickly and servers came over often to check in. the restaurant was very clean and decorated beautifully. will definitely be back!

This place was good, with many different options. When we first arrived, I was amused by the decorations and how the place was styled. Our service was pretty fast, and we got the gobi appetizer which was great and very flavorful. The butter chicken was a little too thick and the lamb was maybe a tad bit too oily. Overall the food was very tasty, but be aware that it's quite heavy and just a bit too salty. Our waiter derek was very attentive and entertaining.

Lots of indoor seating

A relatively new restaurant that definitely lived upto the hype. There was plentiful seating and extremely good Indian food. The service could have been quicker, but I'll give the place a pass because of its food and unique aesthetic. I can recommended their Paneer Bhurji along with the 'Everything Naan' which arrived warm and soft to our table. We will be back!

Great Indian place! Fusion between traditional and modern Indian cuisine. Food made to order mild to spicy! Service very good and atmosphere also nice. The food was tasty. The bomb we ordered was tasty but be warned it is suppose to be served cold. The papadam was not your traditional papadam but was tasty. I ordered the lamb vindaloo which was very tender and spicy. The garlic naan was fresh and tasty. Good Indian restaurant will definitely be back to try other dishes.

This was my second time visiting Jalsa. The waiter immediately greeted me when we came through the door. He said welcome back and where's the rest of the gang? I like the family feel to this restaurant The ambiance and decor is creative. I really felt like I was taken from South Jersey into some middle eastern location. Let's talk food. Naan, you cannot go wrong with any, but we tried the onion sage and it was delicious. Spinach Chaat was delicious last time, so I ordered that again and it didn't disappoint. Salty, sweet, and crunchy! My friend and I also decided to try the soups and I cannot rave enough about the curried butternut soup. Our main dishes were Chicken Vindaloo and Butter Chicken. Both were delicious and the chicken was tender. We had plenty of leftover for a meal the next day.

The restaurant is beautifully decorated. The friendly staff were fantastic upon arrival and departure. The belly dancer was very good and interacted with the patrons getting them up to dance. I enjoyed a quick shimmy of my hips. I enjoy Indian cuisine and Jalsa's food did not disappoint. I started off with papadam sampler and dipped them into the mango chutney. Spinach chaat and Punjabi samosa are two additional starters not to be missed. For my entree I had the paneer tikka masala, butter chicken, and lamb roganjosh and placed them over white rice with a side of garlic naan. The dishes had a little spice but nothing that someone who can't take spice would not enjoy. My food was washed down with a yummy mango lassi. It reminded me of a smoothie.

Food was flavorful, atmosphere was great and service was friendly. Will come back! Ordered: Butter chicken: not too sweet buttery and tomatoey, very light Chicken lollipop: surprisingly spicy and crispy with lots of sauce Lamb biryani: lots of herbs and a bit wetter than other ones I've had since its North Indian style

Not our first visit but as we work our way through the menu trying new things, it gets better and better! Plus, Derrick remembers everything we have tried already and rec's new flavors. Restaurant is busy on weekends so good to call or book reservation if you want to walk in and have your table ready. Service great and food made to order so even a little wait between apps and entrees is well worth it! Tonight we tried mixed grill (hearty) and chicken biryani which was a flavor rainbow of mint, cinnamon, citrus, clove, spice and fork tender chicken in baked bright saffron rice! Memorable for certain. What are you waiting for? Go!

Wow this was really good food. I haven't eaten indian food before but I would genuinely come back. The butter chicken and garlic naan were sooo delicious and the drinks - mango lassi and lychee juice drink had me a sucking at the end of my straw! So delicious and super excited for my leftovers!

The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was lively, especially with the belly dancer performing during dinner. It gets busy, so I highly recommend making a reservation. We ordered food to share as a table, and there was plenty for everyone, with leftovers to take home. The prices are very reasonable, and the food was absolutely delicious. I can't wait to come back and explore more of their extensive menu!

Dinner Just for me...lol the personalized place mats Super cute

Jalsa's was a really great experience. From the moment you walk into this restaurant it is a great experience. The ambiance is beautiful, modern, clean and buzzing with energy. This restaurant was packed on Saturday night, we didn't have a reservation but was lucky to get a seat (make a reservation if you can). The food was really delicious and I enjoyed everything. My absolute favorite was the chilli chicken and I would 100000% recommend you try this dish. The others did not disappoint either: deconstructed samosa chaat, chicken tikki masala, lamb vindaloo, tandoori roti, mango lassi, masala chai tea. Service was really great. We did have to wait a bit for our food, thankfully we ordered appetizers. They were very busy, won't prevent me from coming back because the food and overall experience was definitely worth it.

Valentine's Day Dinner at Sankalp - "The Taste of India" (Voorhees, NJ)…read more On this lovely Valentine's Day, my family and I decided to celebrate with dinner at Sankalp - The Taste of India in Voorhees, NJ, and it turned out to be a perfect choice. From the moment we walked in, the restaurant's warm and welcoming atmosphere made us feel right at home. We ordered quite a spread -- Chicken Corn Soup, Hot & Sour Soup, Triple Schezuan, Chili Shrimp, Amrit Sari Fish, Steamed Chicken Momos, and the Mixed Grill. Every single dish was beautifully presented, well-prepared, and bursting with flavor. You could truly taste the freshness and care in each bite, making it clear that the chefs cook with passion and attention to detail. The service was attentive, the ambiance comfortable, and the food outstanding -- all combining to create a memorable family dining experience. On a day centered around love, Sankalp served its food with just that -- love and authenticity. We give Sankalp a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars. It's definitely worth the trip, and we're already looking forward to coming back soon!

Overall Ratings Restaurant 5/5 Service 5/5 Food 5/5 Parking: Free Atmosphere The restaurant feels very open. The lighting and decor are thoughtfully done and truly impressive. Cleanliness also stood out--it was spotless. Service This place delivers five-star service at less than half the price. When they brought out new plates after we finished our appetizer, I was shocked--in the best way. Wow, wow, wow. And the owner lived up to everything my friend said--personable, friendly, and incredibly attentive. Since it was my first time, he even offered to play one of my favorite songs over the speaker. They genuinely make you feel like a guest in their home. What We Ordered -Chili Garlic Naan (Very good--not overly spicy at all. It's more of a mild to medium heat, very manageable.) -Vegetable Samosa (Very fresh, perfectly cooked, and flavorful.) -Goat Curry (Absolutely delicious--not overly oily like at some other places.) -Chicken Tikka Masala (Another standout dish, rich and flavorful.) Every dish blew me away. Everything was fresh and well-prepared. One note: if you don't want any spice, order mild. If you want mild to medium heat, go with medium. They're more than happy to accommodate your preference. Final Thoughts This is by far the BEST Indian restaurant I've been to in NJ. I just wish it was closer to where I live. I'd have no problem eating here every day--there are so many great options on the menu. At other Indian restaurants, I sometimes deal with heartburn or indigestion, but I didn't experience that here at all. The service is amazing, the food is fantastic, and the space is beautiful.

Human beings are funny that way. So for Father's Day, my wife booked a table for six at Mount Masala in Voorhees. This turned out to be an act of touching optimism. When we arrived on a Saturday night, only three other tables were occupied. We could have brought a small marching band and sat immediately. Still, the staff was warm, the room was pleasant, and we decided to order family style. Civilization occasionally gets things right. The sizzling chicken momo arrived first, hissing and steaming like a diva. Sadly, the spectacle outperformed the substance; it was essentially good food wearing a sequined jacket. The chicken tikka momo, however, was outstanding. They were tender dumplings smothered in a sweet, familiar tikka sauce that my boys attacked with an enthusiasm usually reserved for free money. My youngest ordered the chicken makai soup and delivered a concise, pro-level critique: "It's fine." My oldest enjoyed his tofu Manchurian, though his eyes kept wandering to better plates. The beef skinny noodles and chicken Hakku Bakku chowmein were massive and well-made, but they lacked personality. The chowmein tasted like a very good lo mein. Nothing wrong with that, just predictable. The undisputed star was the chicken choyla. It was smoky, spicy, and rich with mustard oil. If the other dishes were polite small talk, the choyla was the eccentric guest telling stories nobody had ever heard before. Everyone at the table kept reaching for it. As for the service, the staff was incredibly friendly but possessed a unique talent for vanishing. Despite the empty room, refilling water and securing extra napkins became a minor side-quest. But then the bill arrived: $120 for six people. These days, taking the family out can feel like financing a small yacht, so this felt like a genuine bargain. Mount Masala isn't perfect, but it's memorable. The choyla and the tikka momos gave me exactly what I've been hunting for: flavors that are unfamiliar, exciting, and well worth getting to know.
