Still, the staff was warm, the room was pleasant, and we decided to order family style. Civilization occasionally gets things right. The sizzling chicken momo arrived first, hissing and steaming like a diva. Sadly, the spectacle outperformed the substance; it was essentially good food wearing a sequined jacket. The chicken tikka momo, however, was outstanding. They were tender dumplings smothered in a sweet, familiar tikka sauce that my boys attacked with an enthusiasm usually reserved for free money. My youngest ordered the chicken makai soup and delivered a concise, pro-level critique: "It's fine." My oldest enjoyed his tofu Manchurian, though his eyes kept wandering to better plates.
