Kanopi hosted a reception for the hospitality industry this week. All aspects of the event were flawless. The food items- chicken sandwiches, sliced sirloin, a rice dish, tomato salad and passed lamb chops were exceptional. Service was accommodating and the signator cocktails were excellent. The DJ was engaging and the room temperature was just right. I had not been to the space in years so it was fun to return to reacquaint myself with the venue. Parking and registration was seemless. If you have not been here, RUN to get a reservation! This is likely the best, THE BEST, experience I have had in a restaurant. The view is amazing. The food is spectacular. The service - well you feel like family. We did a tasting menu that the chef planned. 8 courses (plus bread service). Dessert was served in the kitchen. All courses had a beverage pairing. Menu: Beet / yogurt pairing with little hints of different flavors that surprise you in a good way Tomato soup (cold) - not like anything I have had before. The father of the chef grows the little tomatoes - maybe grape tomatoes. Not sure. The best tomato soup I have ever had - there were three small tomatoes floating in the soup. So tender (no skin). Wow! Raw yellow tail with two differed sauces that you combined it all together - super fresh fish, amazing sauces - I really can't find the words to do justice for this dish. Even my husband who doesn't eat any sushi had this. And loved it. Seas bass on fava bean sauce - likely the best seas bass I have had. I'm used to Black Sea bass off the boat in Montauk; hard to beat this and they did! Tiger prawn tempora - this was served with a cold beer. Omg. I will never have tempora without a beer again. (I generally don't drink beer.) The batter was exceptionally light, the flavor if the prawn shined. Sockeye salmon on rice - I am not explaining this properly. Wowowow Filet beef with a concentrated au ju - perfectly prepared ... so flavorful. So good. Dessert: tiramisu, two different decadent cookies small and wow. Chocolate truffle (maybe not the right word) but wow We started with champagne, had white wine, red wine, beer, and port. The wines were from Portugal and were sulfite free. And they were spectacular in their own right and perfect pairing with the food. We were here for a big bday cele - it was so special. I will never forget! And I look forward to going back. I wish there were more stars to give. Wish there were more adjectives. I am at a loss at how to explain how good this experience was. If you ever get a chance to go, run there! Kanopi Will Cancel on You and Ruin Your Special Night Made a non-cancellable, non-refundable reservation for Kanopi as a special treat for my wife's birthday over a month before her birthday, and paid the deposit. I also messaged Danny, the manager, that it was my wife's birthday, and that I wanted a cake with candle. Two days before the date I received yet another email confirming and advising that it was non-cancellable. Two hours after the last confirmation I received a call from Danny saying that they had to cancel the reservation. He explained that there was also an event scheduled that night and the event needed more space. He said that they had to cancel all reservations. I told Danny that was unacceptable in that I had a non-cancellable reservation and that the proper and ethical approach would have been to tell the people who had asked for more space, no in that the other areas had been booked with non-cancellable reservations. He offered to move the reservation to Friday and provide free wine. I said no, in that isn't my wife's birthday. I asked who made this decision, and he said the chef. I asked him to have the chef call me. Hadn't heard anything in 90 minutes, so I just sent a text saying better to cancel so I could make another reservation. They did refund my money. However, I feel this is unethical behavior on the part of the restaurant, and breach of the contract made. Truly disappointing behavior. read more

We had our wedding at Kanopi in October 2025, and it was pure magic! The panoramic skyline views created the most stunning backdrop, and the food was beautifully presented and customized to our guests' dietary needs. Chef Anthony Gonalves has done it again! Every single time I dine at Kanopi I am delightfully surprised by his creative, original and delectable dishes that pay tribute to Portugal. Add to that a wait staff second to none in terms of knowledge, generosity and personality, and breathtaking, sweeping views from over 40 floors high in the sky, and you can clearly see why this is my favorite tasting menu in all of Westchester. I've had a more pleasurable dining experience at Kanopi than at some of the many Michelin rated restaurants I've visited in the New York City. The last time I visited was in the summer so I was excited to sample the entirely new menu. I will admit that with my carb restricted diet, I am a sucker for good bread service that is worth the carb macros. We started with two types of broa, a kind of Portuguese corn bread that had fantastic density and flavor that really handled the bold flavor of the solar almeidnha olive oil. The purple broa was made with purple potatoes. It was beautiful in color and lighter in flavor. Both were grilled and the perfect warm greeting to start a fabulous meal. The pan seared scallop with citrus-quince marmalade and mondega piri piri oil was the perfect texture, soft and succulent, with a nice crisp on the outside from the caramelized marmalade. The piri piri oil is such a fantastic addition to the dish, being a touch spicy, a little salty, but also both sweet and sour. It really brings a nice complexity to a dish that could've easily been relegated to the single note of sweetness from the marmalade. The sea bass, marinated in an aguardente, soy, ginger and garlic marinade, was my date's favorite dish. The fish was firm but flaked easily and really served the marinade well. The game changer, however, was the pureed fava beans with chourico! The chourico brought the spice to really liven up the dish, but was tempered by the earthiness of the fava bean puree, which added a very nice creamy, mouth feel juxtaposed against the texture of the fish. My favorite of the night (by the way, very hard to decide on a favorite), was the grilled octopus. It was cooked to the perfect consistency. The gorgeous burnt-orange colored romesco sauce brought a rich, peppery smokiness. The unexpected pairing with dried, crispy pata negra was genius. The salt and light fat, similar to an impeccably crisped high-end bacon, gave the dish even more interest and intricacy. The whole wheat creste di gallo pork and wild mushroom ragout was another surprise. Cooked in pork fat, without any pork in the dish, the pasta was surprisingly light for a ragout. The robust aroma and dense mushrooms gave the illusion of a hearty, heavy food but it wasn't at all! Which is good, because there was still a beef dish and three more desserts to go! I'll skip to my two favorite desserts. One of the most unique combinations I've had for dessert was the queijo, a mini seia cheese cake floating in bath of pretty pink pineapple foam with chunks of pink pineapple and pecans hidden in the foam. It could have easily been too sweet, but the pineapple had a touch of tartness, and the richness of the cheese plus the nutty flavor of the pecans cut the sweetness, and made a really lovely multifaceted dessert. My favorite treat however, has to be the bolo de bolacha. This is the stuff dreams are made of. Fantastically rich and sweet, the caramel colored almond cream was fashioned into the shape of golden oreo cookie (it was even imprinted and ridged with a design similar to an oreo cookie). I had to stop myself from licking the plate to get every last molecule of deliciousness! It was paired with delta cafes coffee ice cream and cookies. Clearly, I could go on and on about this phenomenal dining experience, but seeing how lengthy this is already I'll stop here and suffice it to say this spot has one of my highest recommendations. Husband and I finally dined here a little over a week ago for an early birthday dinner for me and the entire experience was nothing short of sublime. Although I was tempted by the views from the window-side tables, I wanted the Kitchen Table experience, and it was an excellent choice. We drove down from Dutchess County (fyi, whoever designed the Taconic Parkway should be fired, but I digress). The complimentary valet parking made our arrival easy. We were directed to the elevator and from the moment we got off on the floor of the restaurant, we were greeted immediately, and the entire staff was incredibly attentive, polite, and welcoming. The main dining areas are nicely decorated and subtly sophisticated. The chef's table experience was phenomenal. We got very personal attention from the chef and staff members, and enjoyed watching (and inhaling the aromas from) both the main kitchen and pastry side during our meal. The service was excellent and attentive without being overbearing. Water and wine were poured promptly, the pacing of the courses was perfect, and the explanation for the dishes and wine were appreciated. We decided to get the wine pairing, and the pours were both generous and excellently paired with the courses. It was a lot of wine so by the 4th or 5th glass, I was really feeling it and enjoying myself, to say the least. The food was outstanding across the board. I love seafood so I was quite happy with the 7 fish offerings. We started out with 3 different breads, all different and all delicious, and I'm pretty sure I ate the roasted yeast butter on its own, and then uni and yellowtail, which are 2 of my favorites. It feels kind of dismissive to say "all of the courses were delicious," but they really were. The black cod, iberico pork shoulder with fava been puree, and the prime dry aged rib eye were probably my favorite courses. I wish I had more room since the chef offered us additional rib eye, but I was pretty much at capacity and we still had dessert. The meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The iberico pork dish was crispy, salty, full of umami flavor, and it paired perfectly with the grassy, herbaceous, and silky fava bean puree. There was only one course that I wasn't as enthusiastic about, the bacalhau a bras carmelle. Each course was so good that I couldn't wait to see if the next would top it. Each course was a few bites, leading up to the larger beef at the end. Of the 3 dessert courses, the first 2 were my favorite. The first was "pear" which was a contrast of textures and temperatures. It was really outstanding and the cold bits in the dessert were a nice, light contrast to the heavy meal we had just finished. The next was a tart/cold dessert with sweet potato shavings and biscuit-like crackers (my dearest apologies to the pastry chef, I cannot describe it any better). It was all so different and worked well together. Again, the contrast in textures/temperature/flavors worked so well together. By the last dessert course, I was fairly stuffed and couldn't finish. Again, there was a savory component (lettuce) that was (and I'm guessing here) caramelized so it was sweet and I ate both pieces. There was a custard as well and the crust was so flaky, and I was sorry that I couldn't eat more of it. 3 1/2 hours later, we waddled out quite satisfied and happy. Next time, we'd skip the wine pairing because it was simply too much but I can't wait to visit here again and try new dishes. All the flavors of each item were fresh, perfectly execute, and for someone that can be picky about veggies as a vegan, these were the best tasting veggies I have ever had! This is the rooftop restaurant of the Ritz. Went for a small graduation dinner. My friend and I had recently had babies around the same time and we both were breastpumping. Upon hearing our needs, waitstaff were more than gracious to let us use a private locked room instead of us using the bathroom. Great service! It was my dream to have a modern, minimalist wedding, and after visiting the venue once, we knew Kanopi was it. Colin and Morgan are EXCEPTIONAL event staff-they directly coordinated all the day-of vendor logistics, printed table settings, went back-forth perfecting our specialty cocktails, and patiently attended to us at our wedding. The food is INCREDIBLE - all our guests raved about it and we thoroughly enjoyed it at both our tasting (above-and-beyond for 6 guests total) and when we took our wedding food home (we were too busy to eat!)--the bread service, shrimp po'boy, ceviche, and salmon entree were our favorites. The setting was beyond PERFECT for our 150 guests-Colin/Morgan made transitioning the Sky room from ceremony to reception look seamless, the sunset view was stunning, and the staircase was lovely for a grand first dance entrance. We stayed at the Opus (beautiful luxury hotel where Kanopi is located in the penthouse), which made getting ready and hotel blocks very easy. The Afternoon Tea service at this place is worth it! We loved the service, the food with the tea, and the ambiance.

I cannot say enough positive things about this place, this view, this food, and this lovely chef & wife who run the place. Me and me fiancé went there to inquire about Kanopi hosting our engagement party in September. Chef Anthony not only gave us a thorough tour & history of the place, but suggested to us to have dinner there to really see how the food is and get into the whole ambience of the restaurant. Let's just say thank GOD me and my fiancé didn't have plans that night! Next thing i know, we were seated in the best 2 person table in the house with the grandest view of NYC out in the distance while the sun was setting literally right in front us, 650ft up in the sky. We got a warm greeting from the bartender who personally brought us over wine tastings, and for myself who doesn't drink, his own hand made concoctions of delectable virgin drinks that were extremely tasty. Chef Anthony greets us with a beautiful menu, straight out of his home country of Portugal with 6 courses! Here we are, just thinking we were getting a nice tour of the place & now we're sitting down getting an authentic Portuguese cuisine, made to order, hand served from the chef himself with explanations of each dish! We were in heaven. The menu was masterfully deconstructed into the "6 moments" where each dish pertained to somewhere different in Portugal. One dish had a 450 year old recipe! 450! All in all, the dishes in presentation, taste, & execution were done to perfection. When you go, you HAVE to order The Chicken Piri Piri, a recipe thought up by Chef Anthony's wife, who personally cooked it and presented it to us herself. I wanted to give this review 10 stars if i could. If you want to have love, passion, attention to detail, or just want to feel beyond special in your dining experience...this is the place to be. Dining out (date nights) have become a staple for me and my fiancé over the years. We've been to hundreds of restaurants and this overall dining experience is unequivocally top 3, if not the very best. We just had our annual holiday party at Kanopi which Is located atop the Ritz Carlton In White Plains. The event was hugely successful and I'm still getting rave reviews from my coworkers on the evening. From the quality of the specialty cocktails they provided, to the inventive, flavorful and superb food that was served, everything was first class. I can't over-emphasize how super elegant and impressive the space is. The servers were very friendly, detail oriented and professional. Completely disappointed! The experience I was promised for our event absolutely did not happen. My family and I had numerous meetings with the event planner at Kanopi, who seemed poised, methodical, and reassured us that our event would be the way we asked. Not only did Kanopi not deliver, but it was even worse than we could have anticipated. The event planner told us he had Covid the morning of the event (he told us he found out he had Covid 3 days prior, in which case, the planner could have found a replacement). The staff could care less about our event running smoothly and there was food and debris all over the floor that was not being cleaned up. Many of our guests were late to our event because no one was manning the elevator to let them up to Kanopi (which was discussed in many meetings). One of the rooms was missing a bar that was promised and one of the games we paid for was not allowed in by Kanopi (again, even though it was promised to be there by Kanopi staff). The worst part is that there was no event planner who took over for our big event. So my family members (who should have been enjoying the event and not working it) had to jump in and serve as event planners, since no one else did. We were completely disappointed and explained all of this to the owner of Kanopi. He could care less. The purpose of this review is to warn others to stay away from Kanopi for any event. Save your time, energy, and lots of money for other venues, which will actually care about throwing a wonderful event! read more

I have long been a fan of Chef Anthony Goncalves and his team. This includes his newest dining experience, Kanopi. Every meal we've had at his Chef's Table left us blown away by his creativity, love for exceptional local ingredients and the way he honors his family history and culture. This is matched by the incredible service of his team. When my parents decided to throw a "Happiness Party" to celebrate their upcoming 60th Anniversary, my dad's 80th birthday and several other things to celebrate, having an afternoon brunch at Kanopi was the only choice and it was absolutely perfect. From the staff greeting our guests and directing them to the 42nd floor home of Kanopi at the Ritz Carlton to the servers waiting with an array of drinks and passed hors d'oeuvres in the sweeping main room, the event began like a beautifully choreographed ballet. As much as I'm a fan of Chef Goncalves more elaborate and playful food, my parents wanted some simple things as well. Can I tell you how beyond-good their pancakes and waffles are? As was every single item on the delicious spread completing our pretty lengthy brunch buffet. The staff was friendly and beyond attentive in a way that few establishments are able to maintain. Can I tell you again how amazing the food was?!? And, how easy the event was to plan with the help of Colin Mead who could serve in the diplomatic service were it not for his love of food. There was not one disappointment except that the party had to end. As a longtime Westchester resident, I have been to many a party and event at the notable spots in our county. We decided on a small, intimate marriage ceremony and private dinner, limited to family and very close friends. We found the perfect venue at Kanopi at the top of the Ritz Carlton in White Plains. Kanopi is not a traditional restaurant, and the concept of "private dining" was new to us, so we weren't sure at first. However, it seemed worth exploring, and I had eaten before at another restaurant under Chef Anthony Goncalves, so I was confident that the food would be excellent. Kanopi is on the 42nd floor with panoramic views of downtown White Plains and surrounding Westchester County - okay, okay, we know downtown White Plains is not Manhattan, but keep an open mind. The views are stunning, especially at sunset, and at night the views are wonderful. We and all or our guests were extremely pleased with the setting. We met with Colin, who guided us through the planning process, including the logistics, menu, music selection, seating, and timing. He made arrangements with the hotel for guests who stayed the night, parking, and everything else that we didn't even think about. His service was excellent - professional and knows his business. On top of all that, he's also a very nice person. We had a brief private wedding ceremony (30 minutes, including 10 minutes up front for people to mingle and look at the views with bubbly), followed by a 3-hour, 9-course tasting menu with wine pairing. The menu was creative, eclectic, beautifully presented and most importantly, delicious. It was quite a dinner event - to name a few: grilled endive and frisee salad with honeynut squash, citrus and pumpkin seeds; hamachi in olive oil, lime, pomelo; Portuguese black bass in a mussel/tomato broth; halibut in celery root puree and black truffle broth; and unworldly-delicious Iberian pork. The menu was eclectic (well, it is a tasting menu) and the Portuguese and Asian influences were inspired. The dishes were given rave reviews by all, and especially by our friends who are the foodiest of the foodies. Also, it was no small feat that Kanopi accommodated all dietary restrictions with delicious substitutions (dairy-free, gluten-free, meat allergy, seafood allergy, nut allergy, vegetarian, etc.) Kudos to Chef Anthony Goncalves! The evening was perfect. Our wedding guests were absolutely and sincerely enthusiastic about the venue, service and food. We are very happy and highly recommend Kanopi for any special event with private dining. By the way, we had only 35 guests, but Kanopi can accommodate a lot more. read more

Horrible. Spent a miserable New Year's Eve last night at this place. At 300 a person I really feel like I should be calling the police instead of writing a review. They promised an incredible, festive evening on the top of the Ritz Carlton with great farm to table food and top shelf liquor. What they gave us was essentially a low end hotel buffet and they hid the "open bar" with low end alcohol downstairs. Soon as walked in we knew something was off as there was no one there to greet us, tell us what to expect or check our coats. We walked in to essentially a bare room with no decorations at all. The tables were set with literally a plate and a water glass and a small little boughet of what looked like parsley and two dead roses. There is not enough room to talk about the buffet food but what I would like to ask the owner is what happen to the chef prepared blue fin tuna? The dry aged rib eye? The passed hor dourves? Needless to say the 7 people in my party did not bother to stay until midnight. As we were leaving we heard man other people complaining as well. At $300 a person I was expecting so muck more then chicken cutlets and French fries! read more

My wife and I spent several months looking for the perfect wedding venue before discovering Kanopi. I cannot put into words how grateful we are to Colin, Chef Anthony and the rest of the team for giving us the perfect wedding. Their professionalism and level of service is simply outstanding. We planned our wedding on 6 weeks notice yet everything went smoothly as if the event had been in the works for a year, and every single accommodation that I requested was made. The food was phenomenal, the bar was terrific, the service was impeccable, and the venue itself is stunning.
