I was debating about writing a review of my service last week & decided I might as well warn people. I went to the South Surrey location with tire that had a nail in it. I had the spare tire on when I arrived. They were very efficient in patching the tire quickly & didn't charge me, but then suggested that I needed new tires & if I have winter tires I should get them on ASAP. Then when I got home & opened that back of my SUV - what should I find - my spare tire lying there! It is supposed to go underneath & I know it does require some finesse to get it back under there. I called them & they were certainly expecting my call! The ready excuse was that they had tried to do it but it wasn't working & that they had "forgotten to mention it to me"! And they call themselves "tire experts" ? They said I could bring it back tomorrow to see if they could fit me in. I'm not taking it back to them - they would probably break it, just like they broke my tire pressure sensor 6 years ago claiming that Toyota had done it in their last servicing! By the way - I checked my tire rating which was done by Toyota at the end of June & the treads measured 7/32". Totally unethical & I'm never going back! read more

I have come back to being a Kal Tire customer for one reason: the service, attention to detail, and follow up care I received from Muza. He listened and responded intelligently and thoughtfully to my concerns and offered excellent options for me to consider, with no pressure to make any decisions about my tire choice. I understand that Muza has only been at Kal Tire for a few months but he knows his stuff. Kal Tire, if you are listening, give Muza a raise! And bring back the popcorn machine! South Surrey location - just brutal and unethical service. I mentioned to my sister in law that she go here to get new snow tires as they were having a sale. They tacked on a wheel alignment charge for $100 plus on her bill and her brand new car doesn't need it. They didn't ask her nor tell her about it. I only found out about when she asked me what the alignment fee was for. A typical example of a stereotypical shady auto service that pad their revenue by taking advantage of customers that aren't familiar with automobile service. read more

Got my tires changed today at Kal tire South surrey at King George. Snowy day today and I was lucky to make it there on time for my appointment. They were supposed to do wheel alignment with new tire installation and at the time of taking the car in, I told them I will be in the waiting area so come get me if you need my phone (Tesla problems) to lock unlock etc. The advisor and the technician both said, it should be fine but we will come get you if needed. I get called in after 1.5h as they said the job is done however wheel alignment is not done because I never gave them the key card . I told them I was in the waiting area all this time and why didn't you come get me as you mentioned ? They told me without any empathy or hesitation "Yeah you need to rebook to do alignment and come back again". I don't mind coming back but this is really poor customer service and no accountability what so ever. Great tires though! hence 2 stars read more

I purchased four all weather tires in 2021 from the South Durrey Kal tire. Our Suv was recently take into another Kal tire location for a wheel alignment and they advised one front tire is cupping and needs replacement. they advised the tires are not in warranty as there was no wheel alignment done in 2021 at the time of tire purchase. this service is offered complimentary when purchasing tires and was NOT offered. When I called Kal tire to ask what could be done they advised nothing, and the information would be forwarded to a manager for call back, which was not done. i would not purchase tires from Kal tire or have any other service done. i was told it was their busy season at the time of the tire purchase. read more

From my experience. Incorrect or false information provided eg. can't change your license number in their system (even after they entered it in error)- false; tire is not repairable (even though it can be legally); tires needlessly "plugged" even though screw isn't big and hasn't penetrated; wrong invoice given to customer(s). Additionally, the food and beverage area lacks upkeep. Alignment done poorly requiring another visit immediately. Tire pressure unevenly filled. Avoid this location. Not recommended. read more

My TPM light was on on my truck. Stopped by Kal tire in to make an appointment and they came outside with there tool and programmed them all and reset my system. Light is out and no charge. Awesome service. Called Toyota and they wanted to charge me $140 plus $60 for programming. Never go back to Open road Toyota again! read more

I bought set of new tires in Kal Tire in Cloverdale. Everything was good but alignment, so I emailed the Kal Tire customer service if I can check my alignment in any of their locations. He replied " Please feel free to go into any Kal Tire that is most convenient for you to have the alignment checked" So I called this location since I was working nearby and we scheduled appointment for the next day. I left my truck and came back after 1.5 h, nobody called me though. Once I came in, the assistant to the manager told me that they didnt do the alignment because ball joints are crooked, cracked etc. and I should go to Cloverdale location where I will get the refund for the alignment job which shouldnt have been done on my truck, because of the suspension issues. I call bs. I can totally feel when someone is lying to me and he was pretty bad liar. They didnt want to honor the warranty from Kal Tire, thats why he made up this fake story. Finally I went to Grandview Tire and Auto, where they checked my suspension and everything was fine, they performed alignment and now steering feels much better. Dont come there unless you want to waste your time and propably money, they lie with small things, they will lie with bigger too. read more

Showed up with an Emergency flat and they wouldnt even help me. Had to drive with a flat to Discount Tire and got instant service. On another issue they didn't return calls and eventually when I did connect they were unable to help. I had winter tires installed and when I got home my hands were black. The steering wheel was filthy. Horrible service, never going back! read more

Visited Kal Tire at 2315 King George Blvd and spoke to Rayan Mangat. He said he couldn't look after me as he was booked for the day. I asked if he could find me the nearest Kal Tire and he dismissed me. When I enquired further, he insisted that " its not my job ". I asked if providing service to a Kal Tire customer wasn't his job. He reluctantly called and told me that there was an opening in Cloverdale. I visited this location and they couldn't do it. I went in to get my tires rotated and balanced. Requested they check the tire pressures as well. They never did check the tire pressures because the one of the caps was too tight and so they abandoned checking the rest. Then I was told it cost $75 dollars per stem. That would have been fine but nobody bothered calling to see if I am interested in getting it done. So, after almost $200 dollars I am not even sure if they did what they claimed to do. Used to love this location. Ryan was the manager and I think Steve was the CS guy they had a real "can do" approach took many of my vehicles there for tires wheels alignment etc Tried to book an appointment for my sons car with customer supplied parts that are still new in the box to be told it's against policy. In the past they have swapped springs and shock on our prelude springs on accord added a levelling lift on Ridgeline etc all with "customer supplied" parts. I go to this location with the new staff they all seem like rookies and very inexperienced and what they're telling me, a long way from the can do experiences in the past. I feel bad complaining about this location because they are accomodating and friendly but someone needs to give them feedback so hopefully they read this. Four tires were bought for my vehicle from this location last year. Two tires were leaking air after the installation. The vehicle was brought back and we were told that they couldn't find a leak. I took both tires off and found the leak as soon as I dunked them in water. I brought the tires back and told them they were leaking at the wheel weights. They said that they would replace the wheel weights with tape-on weights. I get the tires back and they still have the wheel weights and after a few days I find they are still leaking, so I bring them back again and they put on tape on weights, problem solved. Later, at another location, we found that one of the tires was mounted backwards (outside side was facing in, inside side was facing out). Tire specialists should be able to find tire air leaks and mount tires in the right direction. read more

Pathetic what should've been a simple fuel pump replacement quoted at $650 ended up being a 3 week "adventure " because they f$&*%ed up my car Total bill almost $1800 almost all charges were either diagnostic time or labor! No parts replaced second time just some "cleaning " of the already existing parts?!?! Car ran fine before i took it in other than the odd time it had issues starting due to the fuel pump starting to fail . after they got ahold of it it was missing when driving and they killed the battery! Not one person working there when I was there looked over 18 so who is the experienced tech?? This place is a joke! Steer clear of this Kal Tire!!! Here is my experience as a cautionary tale. I recently purchased a really nice, low mileage, older BMW and had it completely serviced and inspected at CG Motorsports (BMW Specialists), including a full alignment. The car needed new tires so I contacted my local (White Rock) Kal Tire. I've used other Kal Tire locations in the past with no issues. The model Tire I wanted didn't come in the OEM size for my car so I called for advice on sizing. The guy who answered the phone did not understand the basics of tire sizing. I had to do my own homework and came up with the appropriate size. I then called them back to set up the appointment. They said it would take a week to get the tires in but I only had one day available so I asked if they could expedite delivery and I'd pay for it. They quoted me $50 for delivery and I agreed. Things got fun on installation day - they called me an hour before the appointment to tell me the tires weren't there. Oops. And they wanted to reschedule to a day I had told them previously I couldn't do - this is why I was paying extra for delivery. I asked them to try to find the tires today as promised. They called back in 10 mins and miraculously found them. I arrived for my appointment and waited 2 hours for the installation. Finally it was ready and the guy started to ring me up. He then tells me the alignment was way out and they had to spend a long time fixing it. Huh? A) you didn't tell me you were going to do an alignment and B) it was perfectly aligned when I came in because of the work at CG. I asked to see the report and, after comparing it to my report, we realized they had used the specs for the sport suspension option I did not think my car had. But I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt if they could show me how they confirmed that option. They said they "eyeballed" it but there was no way to know for sure. In the meantime I went out and checked my car and they had put on the wrong size tires! They agreed to fix the tires but they tried to tell me the alignment was close enough either way ( even though their own report showed everything out of spec). I went to have lunch while they fixed the tires. At lunch I reviewed the alignment reports and it turns out the specs for the different suspension options were right there and EASY to check. I went back and asked them to do the measurement to confirm which specs were right (what they should have done originally). Buddy couldn't figure out how to take the measurement. I had to google to get the right method. Sure enough they used the wrong spec. I said I wanted the alignment fixed. Buddy was getting pissed, but agreed. 1/2 hour later he comes back, tosses the new alignment report at me and tells me "all good". I look at it and Camber is red and way out of spec. I ask him what's up with this? He goes into the back and I can see him arguing with the technician. Then he comes out and tells me that camber cant be adjusted on my car so his machine must be wrong. Huh? So how do I know the other numbers are right? Fed up, I left. Today (4 days later) I took my car back to CG Motorsports and they checked my alignment (for free). Yep, it was way out on almost every spec. They fixed my alignment for free. True professionals. If I could give this Kal Tire a negative score I would!! read more

I brought a vehicle to this shop on Friday to have the brakes checked. Saturday I was quoted $1,900 plus for extensive work to brakes NEEDED! Then after a quick pause was told I needed suspension work for another $900 plus, oh, then was told I needed 4 new tires!!! Ok , I had to ask, is this really necessary? I thoght I was being taken advantage of because brakes were done 6-8 months ago , suspension seemed fine and the tires had wear but not bald or damaged. All this seemed a little fishy, so I took my vehicle and left. Took it yesterday to a dealership service garage, typically a more costly option , brakes were inspected and repaired for the quoted $700 , a COMPLETE brake service was completed as needed, the suspension was checked, its fine and tires good for another 10,000-15,000 km. I will never go back there again, will share with everyone my experience. Crooked practices such as this ruin it for honest , fair and reputable service garages. read more

I drove there on a flat tire. The counter person told me they would look at my tire immediately. About ten minutes later the man who had been working on my car said the tire couldn't be patched and I needed another one. I was not surprised. I asked the counter guy if they possibly had a good, used tire although they are not a used tire place. He said they didn't usually have many used tires but he would look. He immediately found one for me and it was installed within twenty minutes. Great service and a great deal on a tire. Unfortunately, I did not get the names of the two men working there today or I would have mentioned them specifically. The review says I am from San Francisco which is not correct. I have been using this location for 3 years.Yesterday I had a screw in a tire and went to get it fixed. They told me it could not be repaired. If I left the car they would put on the spare by the next day. I told them I needed to get back to Point Roberts that day. They refused to accommodate me, they refused to put air in the tire so could go somewhere else. I drove to the nearest gas station on a flat tire and put in air. I googled Tire Shops and found Fountain Tire not far away. They fixed my flat right away, no charge. I need a new set of tire, guess where I will be buying them? read more

South Surrey location Probably the absolute worst place you can takw your vehicle to. Customer service is undoubtedly the worst one can get. If you are looking to be treated like a child, this the place to go. Not only did they strip the bolt on my wheels, they proceeded to blame the previous person who worked on it, leaving with one bolt missing. read more
