Love this cafe! I can't believe it's taken me this long to check it out. Their scones sell out fast, so be sure to snag one if you see it on display. I've only had the honeydew choco chip ($3.25) one so far, but I love the texture and flavor. Definitely can't wait to try more. My favorite has been the egg & veggie soup (cup 8oz - $3; bowl 16 oz - $4 that they had on special. It's so clean and warms your soul. I could drink bowls of this every day to be honest. I've also had the Egg White Pesto Sandwich ($8.95) and Alfred Chicken ($4.99), which were both delicious. Can't wait to try more things on the menu. Cafe Grace is a cute cafe that serves a wide variety of bagel sandwiches at Imperial plaza. Seating is limited inside but if you can snag a spot at their sofa, it is such a comfy place to do some work on your laptop. They also offer complimentary wifi! The staff are always friendly, their bagels are freshly baked, and they validate parking at the imperial plaza. I would highly recommend going for lunch! read more

I've been waiting to try cafe grace because I feel like it's a lesser known cafe than the mainstream ones I've been going to like Honolulu coffee or island vintage! I was excited to go today after seeing that they reopened dine in seating! All I had to do was show my covid vaccination card (good thing I had a picture bc they don't accept the QR code just yet!). I really loved my time dining in at the cafe--everything is reasonably priced, there are many outlets to charge your laptop, the staff was friendly and the cafe felt clean and quiet enough to study. I ordered an iced latte and asked about alternative milks because it isn't on the menu--and they do have oat, almond and soy at no additional charge like most cafes!!! Although I left before lunch, I really want to try their bagel sandwiches the next time I come to study. I think I found my new favorite study cafe!! read more

Q: What does a bagel do when it is locked out of its house? A: Calls a lox-smith. After dropping off our car for routine maintenance, we passed by Café Grace on Cooke Street while enroute to our usual bakery and decided to look over its menu. Much to our surprise, Café Grace features bagels from its sister business, Lox of Bagels, and made-to-order hot/cold coffees, teas and other beverages. So instead of walking further, we decided to go in. The coffee shop ambiance is comfortable and sort of like Friends' NY Central Perk. There is a comfy "living room" area where you can sit and relax with your beverage and bagel (bagel sandwiches and desserts are available) as well as other seating arrangements. It's quite refreshing to come in to this café and not find so many people camping for hours with laptops or electronic devices but customers are actually having conversations. Service was friendly and nicely paced which set us and other customers in to a calmness. There is free Wi-Fi (passcode is posted behind cashier) and validated parking in the attached parking structure (entrance on Kawaiha'o Street) or metered street parking along Cooke Street can be had, although might be slim pickings during weekdays. Their daily menu offers a variety of plain to flavored bagels that they'll prepare with fruit and spread of your choice, egg creations, sandwiches, melts, and salads and wraps. You can specify how toasted you want your bagel when you order but generally, they do light toast. Their bagels have a thick crust that's tender enough to bite through without forcing off the lox and schmear or any spread of your choice. As you bite through the crust, its light chewy crumb acts like a blank canvas to the topping(s). While we sat and enjoyed our coffees and bagels, there were numerous other customers who came in to either dine-in or pick up their take out orders. We sat nearby a window and watched the traffic buzz by yet we felt insulated in the calmness of Café Grace. We'll be back to try other bagel flavors or menu items. read more

Although I live within a mile of this place, its taken me awhile to find it. Cafe Grace is an adorable cafe with a great food and drink selections, all at reasonable prices. Last visit I had their bagel and lox and then had to get their tiramisu scone for dessert. Wow! They also have some fabulous lunch desert specials. Previous visit I had an excellent pizza bagel ($4.99!!!) of which I can choose from a variety of toppings. My wife loves their egg white pesto sandwich, and their house coffee is perfect for us. The cafe is spotlessly clean and if you're a laptop warrior as I, there's plenty of surface space, outlets and 50Mpbs free wifi. I don't know about the parking situation however there's a Biki (Hawaii Bikeshare) station directly across the street which is how my wife and I commute. Quality, cleanliness, vibes and location. Cafe Grace has a peaceful atmosphere and a great place to keep focus/study. Parking: Park in the Imperial Plaza parking garage. The entrance is on Kawaiahao Street. The first 2 hours are free with validation. There is also meter parking with a limit of 1 hour. Food: I only had their soup of the day. It had sweet potatos, onions, soy milk, and toppd with croutons. Sounds weird at first, but I thought I'd give it a try. Definitely not a soup that I've tried before, but I would purchase it again. Simple and enjoyable. They also have bagels with special toppings, which looked tasteful and fulfilling. Service: Not a busy place the time I went (10ish), which is my preference. The front register person was friendly. The staff in the kitchen delivered my food to me as I was studying, which I loved. The workers are really friendly, and it is within walking distance of the place where i get my car oil changed, so that's a huge plus for me! I stopped in her to have lunch the other day. I was looking for a sandwich shop and came here based on yelp reviews. You enter the restaurant and order at the counter. I asked what was recommended and their top recommendation was the pastrami sandwich. They also recommended the bagel pizzas, chicken salad sandwich and tuna melt. I went with the Tuna melt. This is an open faced bagel sandwich. You could also do it in a croissant or bread. The sandwich came with a mixed green salad as well. I also got an Arnold Palmer. The restaurant was clean and tables as well. My sandwich didn't take too long and it was very tasty. I did however break 2 forks eating my sandwich. I tell you these new plastic forks don't stand up as well. The avocado on the tuna melt was a nice addition. The tuna salad had some onions which I was worried about but they were fine. Not that obvious and didn't leave an onion taste behind. The Arnold Palmer was perfect. A good balance of tea and lemonade. This isn't as easy as one would think. I often have to add water because the lemonade is too strong. The salad was also good. I liked the flavor of the dressing but didn't love the gritty texture of the dressing. I would have preferred chips but that's just me. Overall a great place for lunch or breakfast based on the menu. It seems that bagels, breakfast items, and coffee drinks comprise most of the menu. While I wasn't thrilled by my plain bagel, I did like my friend's bagel, dill cream cheese, avocado, and tomato sandwich. I loved my first experience here during late September! We ordered a chicken salad sandwich, a curry chicken sandwich, a lemonade, and a plantation ice tea. The total was ~$28. At first, the total cost seemed a bit pricy, but I was very happy to see that the sandwiches were generously stuffed. The curry chicken sandwich was so flavorful, I highly recommend it. Also, the customer service was great and the staff were welcoming. I think a new worker was being trained when I had gone in and I could overhear how nice and patient the trainer was. I guess you could call me a regular of Café Grace now. I come here after work on most days to practice and study my Japanese (the staff here are fluent in Japanese). I really enjoy the ambiance of the space. There's free Wi-Fi, charging (like Starbucks in the old days), and on any given day, you'll see children and families, dogs, and students studying. By the way, you can contact Café Grace to reserve the space for parties. (It'll make me sad because then I can't study there, but it'll be good for you because the space is great!) I came for the breakfast taro bagel and bagel puffs I keep seeing online. I stand by my choice to try everything at least once but these were more fun to look at than to taste. The PB cookie dough bagel puff was dry and I didn't really get the "cookie dough" inside. It was flavorless on its own. I love the concept though! I still want to try the cinna sugar w/ cream cheese anyways. The bagel was great! There aren't many bagel options out here so I'm always keeping tabs on where to go. These hearty sandwiches also come with your choice of two sides--salad, quinoa and ratatouille. And for dessert, they have a variety of bagel puffs.
