I've been to Kakaako a few times now for breakfast or brunch. Their coffee is good and they have great bagel sandwiches. It has a homey, relaxing feel and I always have a positive experience. My friend works in the area, so we come here sometimes for coffee when she is on her break. During the day they have bagels and coffee, and at night they have alcoholic beverages, hot pot and soft serve. On my last visit I had a bacon, egg and cheese bagel. All the bagel sandwiches come with a salad with a light dressing. The salad is fresh and adds just that little something extra. The bagel sandwich was good, but what made it better was the fluffy egg. Idk how they cook their eggs, but it was soft like Tamagoyaki. This is an order at the counter and eat your food at a table or take it to go kind of cafe. The cashiers are nice and will deliver your food to your table. It's usually pretty empty in here when we go, which is nice, but I hope they're making money too. I always tip the servers because they do provide service even though it's kind of a take out place like Starbucks. I'll have to come back to try the hot pot!! read more

Nice and quaint. Ordered 2 ice coffees and 2 scones; tiramisu and strawberry creamcheese. They serve alcohol too so that would be a nice pau hana or afternoon talkstory session. Ice coffee - really no need for cream and sugary. Nice low acid and really refreshing. This is better than the cafe couple of doors down. Scones - not for the diet conscious. We drove around and found this unexpectedly. We were lucky to find street parking right in front. The cashier briefed us on the menu and gave us some recommendations. All tables were taken, and most of it were people just sitting around on their laptops. I guess they were done eating. We sat on the counter waiting for our order, and finally, a table opened up. We ordered the Chicken Salad Sandwich on a jalapeño bagel and a Roast Beef Sandwich with everything bagel. Both came with greens on the side. They were very generous with chicken and roast beef. The seasoning on both was spot on. Great tasting and filling. I'm usually a fan of Bagel Sandwiches, but they took this to a different level. It was awesome! We were roaming to find a lunch spot before we hit the Christmas festivities on Punchbowl for the tree lighting last weekend. This place seemed good form the reviews and pics! Cute little cafe! All tables were taken, except the counter in the back so we put our stuff down and the nice cashier girl helped us choose items. She said she liked the chicken salad bagel so I opted for that with Jalapeño Bagel. Reuben debated between Pastrami or Roast Beef but got Roast Beef w/Everything Bagel it came with a side salad. Table opened and we quickly got seated after it was wiped down and sanitized. Most people use the free internet and had their laptops out. This review is long overdue. I've had the privilege of regularly visiting Cafe Grace shortly after I moved to Hawaii in 2019, and I've been their biggest fan since. The staff is incredibly efficient, pleasant, and embody aloha spirit. The environment is relaxing and cozy (tables and sofas), yet also conducive to work given their free guest WiFi and solid power outlet access. Finally, the food and coffee are some of the best around. They have a diverse and ever/evolving menu that should satisfy the pickiest of eaters (as a vegetarian, I love it). They also have awesome scones and such if you need a quick bite. No joke, this will be the establishment I'll miss most as I move back to NY...and it will be the first place I visit when I return. Yelp is my go-to resource when looking for out-of-town dining. I wanted to check out the street murals in the Kaka'ako neighborhood, and this cafe was nearby. When Hubby asked, I said the menu listed sandwiches, salads and soup. i liked the bagel background of this place. On arrival, Hubby saw the listing for Curry Chicken Sandwich, and asked for Curry Chicken over rice! Not offered today, but he was able to get today's special of ground beef with rice and salad. He also ordered an Everything bagel with cream cheese. I was happy with my Hot Pastrami sandwich on Everything bagel that also came with salad. Lots of lean meat. The bagel was soft and not overly chewy. I was able to get an iced cafe mocha for my beverage. After lunch, we wandered around some neighboring streets to see the street murals. At our next stop, I realized that my cell phone was missing! I used Hubby's phone to call Cafe Mocha in case someone had turned it in. Nicole was nice enough to check in the bathroom (down a long hallway) for me, too. BTW, I later found the doggone phone under the driver's seat of our rental car. I happened to be close by and was craving bagels after a morning work out so I pulled up and strolled into cafe grace. The interior is decked out with holiday decorations which brought a smile to my face. They had some customers dining in and far apart from each other in this new Covid era. They have a good variety from bagel/croissant sandwiches and salads. I got the white egg pesto bagel which was hearty and came with a little side salad! My new fav coffee shop in town! Cafe Grace is located on Kapiolani in the Imperial Plaza. This cozy cafe is the perfect spot to chill and hang out over coffee and bagels. I love coming here to get some work done but also a great spot for a lunch date. I believe it's Japanese owned and you can totally tell because their customer service and details to this place is spot on. The workers are so friendly and attentive. Everything I've had here so far has been good but I love coming here specifically for their soft chewy bagels. The egg white pesto bagel is my go-to order. The tuna melt is also really good and huge! If you want something more sweet they have flavored cream cheese bagels. The strawberry one was really good. I want to try their matcha cream cheese next! They serve salads, sandwiches, and coffees & teas. I always get their iced vanilla latte with almond milk. Made perfectly every time. We ordered the Salmon Bagel Sammy and the Roast Beef Bagel Sammy. Food was amazing, best bagels I've had on island. As a lover of New York style bagels this is the sport to go. The service was phenomenal, friendly, helpful and kind. They speedily made my order and the hand off was extra sweet. The Ambiance was pristine and exactly what you expect from a cute little cafe. I'll blame it on their hours as for the reason it took me so long to finally be here even though I do frequent Imperial Plaza for many other reasons. Cafe Grace is really adorable with nice chill vibe that you could get absolutely comfortable on their huge comfy sofa to several tabletop seating and enjoy your morning moments with some crafted drinks or any of the bagels that seems to be used in everything. I gravitated to the little menu board on the floor of the stuffed croissants...fresh fruit to be exact with honey. Omg!! It instantly took me back to Japan where "Fruit Sando" is everywhere what a crazy refreshing yumminess!! Don't even know exactly what's on it honestly uhhh strawberries, grapes and pear I think. Visited 16 March 2021 Another early morning downtown meant finding some place to grab coffee and a light snack/breakfast (I don't usually eat a big breakfast). I searched my trusty Yelp app for breakfast places near my current location. The search turned up quite a few 4-5 star eateries however, most of them were still closed (this was around 8am). Luckily, café grace was open. Hooray!! I drove by and there were open parking along the street. Yass! Another win!! I walked in and was greeted by the employee. My and my party of 3 were the only people inside at the time but 3 other patrons walked in after us. Since it was my first time, I browsed the wall menu's and asked a few questions to which the cashier happily responded. There were a wide variety of bagels but I settled for the cinnamon & raisins bagel with Nutella, yummy! Of course I also gor a coffee. I will have to try the other on a next visit. The business is practicing all covid protocols. All employees were wearing masks and customers are required to were their masks. The seating area is open but there is ample space between tables - one table/chairs was located near the door and the other was at the opposite side of the room. Everything was clear, brightly lit, and well laid out. When my bagle came out, it was warm and toasty and the Nutella was deliciously melted. I split that with my nepher. My coffee was the perfect temperature. My mother didn't want anything because she was still nervous for her upcoming appointment at USCIS. I had a good first visit. Possibly the best seafood salad from any casual type place I've ever had. It's called the Gem Of The Sea Salad and it was fabulous. Very fresh seafood. Shrimps were not overcooked. Sure it's a little pricey at $18.50 but there's a lot of expensive ingredients that goes into this. It's a good sized portion also. I'll definitely be back and despite all the other stuff on their menu will likely order the same thing. read more

I love the pastrami on an everything bagel and I also like the club on everything bagel! They also have a pretty decent sized açaí bowl and it's yummy. I actually found this sweet cafe here on Yelp! I trusted the reviews and met a girlfriend for a mid morning brunch/coffee break. It's a really cute place, very friendly staff and best of all (for me, at least) they make delicious fluffy Japanese Tamagoyaki style scrambled eggs! OH. YUM! I instantly fell in love. Parking is either on the street (metered) or in the Imperial Plaza parking garage. And they validate. Bonus! When we arrived around 10:30 it was easy to get a cute table with couch seating, but as lunchtime got closer it started to really pick up and tables were not as easy to come by. Cute atmosphere, parking is easy on the street, and the service was good. We ordered a few things: smoked salmon bagel, and bacon egg and cheese bagel. We also ordered two coffees. The smoked salmon on jalapeño bagel. It was good, the bagel was fresh and it was tasty. The bacon egg cheese was on everything bagel. The bagel was good, but the eggs aren't real eggs, they are microwaved and tasted very fake. I wouldn't order it again because of that. The coffees were good and tasty. The fake egg thing seems to be a common practice around a lot of these bagel shops and I just can't give any of these places a good review when their eggs aren't real and cooked. read more

A couple of weeks ago, I tried the hamburger steak with tomatoes, cheese, lettuce, and ube buns! The steak was very soft, and the juice permeated every centimeter of the sandwich. The portion was just right, and I added their plantation ice tea to sweeten the deal as it was a bit warm outside. I look forward to returning and try some of the other things on the menu! So glad I found my new cafe in town. Had an appointment in the area and was dying for a coffee so this was the closest one(besides Starbucks which I don't care for.) I thought it was going to take a while so I sat down there was one person in the front of me it may have took maybe five minutes so not too bad. The lady at the counter was nice. The indoor decor could use a bit more help or maybe lighter color walls idk but it's just plain. I decided to try a matcha strawberry scone and omg my mind was blowwwn! I loved it so much.
