One of my friends spent two years teaching in Vietnam. She said Kai Mook is the closest to authentic she has found this side of the Pacific. You will not be sorry. Needed to kill some time so I decided to grab something small. I've had their bubble tea a few times so I thought I'd give the food a shot! Summer rolls: crab stick, carrot, lettuce and vermicelli noodle. Very fresh and light! The peanut sauce is to die for!!! Tom kan (spelling?): coconut lime broth, tomatoes, mushrooms, &tofu (can be made with chicken as well) can order in bigger size if you'd like. This is my new favorite restaurant in the Worcester area and one of my favorite dining experiences, period. My husband and I made a mental note to try Kai Mook upon seeing the sign a few weeks ago, and I am grateful that we did. Not only is the food mouth-watering, but the staff is extremely welcoming and helpful, and the restaurant is fun to visit. Family photos and adorable table decor made us feel right at home. I feel like I should offer spoiler alerts about specific dishes, as it was such a treat ;)! We started with generous servings of Thai iced coffee and tea and an appetizer of grilled Bangkok chicken balls. As someone watching what she eats for health reasons, I appreciated the many delicious options on the menu. My husband ordered Pad Ka Pow Moo Grob, while I went with a staple: shrimp Pad Thai. Both dishes smelled and looked amazing and were perfectly sized for lunch. Our mango sticky rice was a lovely finish. We had dinner from Kai Mook tonight. I had Boneless Duck, and Jody had Crispy Pork Belly. The Chicken Satay was done right. And what can you say about the tea? This is the best Thai restaurant I have found in New England. My wife is Thai, and we live in DC, but whenever we come up to Connecticut, we make sure to make the two hour trip up to Millbury to have this excellent Thai food. The chef cooks authentic Thai food and it is so flavorful. She is at her best when making amazing broths, and she showcases that in her duck soup, Jehlek Noodle Soup, wonton soup, nam sai, etc. Kai Mook excels at street food as well. There are so many dishes that are well worth a try. Their himmaparn, a cashew and pineapple stir fry, is amazing. I love their kua kling, which is great for anyone feeling adventurous and likes spicy food/turmeric. They do not shy away from making food spicy when requested. The restaurant has a star system for spiciness: one star has a small amount of heat, two stars is getting spicy, three stars is usually a Thai level of heat, and anything above that I cannot handle myself! The staff are very friendly. They get to know their regular customers and greet them warmly. It is a small-town feel. Kai Mook is a real pearl, and it belongs on your must-eat list if you live anywhere in New England!! read more

Just gave this new restaurant a try. I got the bbq pork. It was delicious a slightly sweet sauce with crisp bok choy. The highlight was the curry puffs. They tasted like heaven. Similiar to a samosa bat but in a dough more comparable to a crossaint. Dumplings were definately made in store. They should experiment with those more. The owner said they will be getting more adventurous as time goes by. Looking forward to it. read more

Great, authentic food. I've been to thailand and the flavor here is much better than I've had in their native country! Fast and friendly service. The kitchen is divided from the dining area but a curtain so you can hear the women chefs chatter in the back. It's like eating in someone's home! Great hidden gem! Haven't had Thai food in years. First time trying this place out and can't believe I did not know about it over a year living in Millbury. My husband and I got take out: pad Thai, fried rice house special, crispy pork belly, Papaya salad and green curry. Soooooo good, especially the green curry, pad Thai and crispy pork belly! Yum yum!! Took about 35 minutes in wait time and they ran out of summer rolls, but overall amazing food and will most definitely am going to be making this place my staple Thai food in millbury from now on!! I have never eaten here before but thought i would give it a try. Seemed good from the menu and the reviews but was severly dissapointed. I ordered crispy pork but the pork was very dry and looked like it had been sitting out for days. Not crispy at all and certainly not fresh. The rice that came with it also seemed old and dried out. The menu says it comes with a side of sweet sausage, cucumber and pickled vegetables. The sweet sausage again was dried out and seemed old and there were no cucumbers or pickled vegtables just some shredded carrots. My wife got Khao Soi curry with beef and it came with old stale "crispy" noodles on top. The curry broth had very little flavor and like my dish the meat was not good an seemed old. it was also supposed to come with a side of rice which was left out of the order. will not be ordering from here again. read more

Excellent spot. I highly recommend the lemongrass chicken, but get it with mild spice level unless you have an iron tongue. All their desserts, coffee, and drinks are REALLY good too. The roti fried dough is somehow simultaneously flaky and moist, amazing. Their Vietnamese iced coffee is perfect, you don't need to specify how much sugar or milk or anything and they just hand you this perfect orange beverage. I've visited ~5 times so far and usually get the himmaparn with tofu, which is a rice dish with pineapple and cashews and a very tasty sauce. The shrimp pad Thai was excellent, as was the red curry - super fresh veggies with just the right amount of crunch left, and a spice level that didn't melt my face off but was really tasty. Came here to try something new and it was a mixed bag. Hibiscus tea was very good as was the crispy pork belly dish. The fresh rolls contained imitation crab and the drunken noodles were just too sweet, not spicy as advertised, and not savory in the least. The service was extremely friendly and professional, and the restaurant was clean. I'd give this restaurant another try (particularly to try their soup), but as of right now, Racha Thai about a mile away serves better food. read more

First time we've eaten here. Been hearing good things so we decided to try it. Cozy place. Very friendly staff with 2 adorable little boys! Tried the iced Thai tea & Vietnamese iced coffee. OMG!! We will definitely be stopping in just for the drinks sometimes!! Onto the food...excellent! Nice amount of heat & if you need a little more just add the Thai hot sauce available at the tables. This place recently opened and boy am I glad it did!! I work near there and have been looking for something different to eat for lunch and this place filled that void. I only recently started like Thai food so I don't have much to compare it to but this is the best that I've had!!! My favorite thing is the pork belly that comes with rice and some sweet sausage! The hibiscus tea is a wonderful drink to compliment the meal with too!!! The place doesn't look that great inside so if you're one who needs a fancy setting, I'd skip this place. It's not dirty or anything like that but could definitely use a facelift! As for me, I'm all about the food and this place is great!
