Kafi BBQ is a Texas style BBQ joint in Irving-Valley Ranch which serves up Halal Wagyu Brisket with Iraqi/Middle Eastern influences. I follow the chef/owner on Instagram (@kafibbq), and the amount of effort and detail he puts into his craft has resulted in multiple return visits for me. This review is for my latest visit. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Kafi BBQ can be found in a shopping strip in Irving-Valley Ranch. Only opened Friday - Sunday, on my most recent Sunday visit around dinner time, Kafi was packed. The patrons were a great mix of families, BBQ lovers, and those looking for high quality Halal meats. Smoke was in the air. 1 Star. Service - The staff is super friendly and nice. Pro Tip - Go for lunch or before 6 before items are sold out. A few items were sold out on my most recent visit (my fault I arrived at 6:45) and the staff weren't aware of what was available, leading to some confusion, but they were so nice it didn't impact my meal. 1 Star. Food - By now, you've probably read or heard about Kafi's Wagyu Brisket. For me, I love following @kafibbq on Instagram so I can see what Salahodeen is cooking up. On this visit, it was the Brisket Sandwich. First off, the house baked bread roll is soft, but firm enough to hold Kafi's famous brisket on a pile of home made cole slaw and pickles. The result was one of the best BBQ sandwiches I've eaten. The bite was soft, smokey, crunchy, and tart (from the pickles). It was a special, and I'm not sure if Kafi will keep this on the menu, but I hope they do. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. It's pricey, but it's worth it. While the brisket is great, I suggest you follow them on Instagram to see what's cooking and plan your visit around the specialty items. 1 Star.
My husband went for takeout bbq. He sent the menu and I told him to decide. We decided on Dino ribs-and beans. The Dino rib was fall off the bone tender. They seemed seasoned but I would have preferred more seasonings. The rib was equally fat and meaty. The bbq sauce was sweet and vinegar tasting. Just ok to me. Along with the ribs were large slices of bread. I was confused as to why the bread was like that. Hopefully they didn't weigh the bread. The beans weee ok. It's very expensive, I will maybe give it a another try with other items.
This spot is located in a plaza of sorts at the end, I arrived last night on a Friday at around 6:30 pm and the entire place was PACKED. You walk in, find the line and wait in line before placing your meal, then you go find a table. Wait was only maybe 15 mins They don't do quarter lbs they start off at a half of lb of anything I only came for the Burnt ends and indeed they were burnt to a crisp! Very tough to eat but the flavor was absolutely there. I would come try them when they first open, something tells me my batch had been sitting for a minute and that light drizzle of the sauce needed to be a downpour, that sauce was really good. They have REAL cane sugar sodas in the machine, extra star for that and 2 huge tubs of BBQ ( spicy or regular) in the middle of the 2 soda machines. I also tried the Mac- wasn't for me The beans tho- those beans RIGHT THERE!! The absolute best! The cardamom banana pudding- if you like things like lavender ice cream this is a treat for you. This was not my flavor profile at all but there is a niche market for that. Overall- I would come back to try the brisket and for more beans
When in Texas you have to have BBQ and this place was very highly recommended to me by resident in Dallas. The Wagyu Fatty Brisket melted in my mouth and the Pomegranate Burnt ends were Smokey and tender.. The Meat Slicer and Everyone there was super friendly and very accommodating and had great recommendations to try the next time.. Very Clean inside and plenty of room for large groups. I left so stuffed but will definitely be back for Smoked Oxtail and Dino Ribs the NEXT time!
The food was okay. Not the best BBQ I've had. The prices were high. The cornbread needs some help and for $6 I expected more.
Kafi Banana Pudding Saved the Day: Fair BBQ, Premium Prices Kafi BBQ had a few bright spots, but overall the experience did not justify the price point. The standout item was the banana pudding--rich, flavorful, and easily the best thing we ordered. The jalapeño sausage was another highlight, offering great flavor, a nice balance of heat, and the kind of quality I expected from the rest of the meal. Unfortunately, much of the menu fell short. The empanadas were disappointing, with very little meat and an overwhelming amount of cheese. At $9 each, they felt significantly overpriced. The ribs were surprisingly bland and lacked the depth of seasoning and smoke that great barbecue should deliver. The brisket was decent but not memorable. The oxtail had more flavor than the ribs, but it was overly greasy, which detracted from the overall experience. In the end, the food ranged from fair to good, but not at a level that supports the premium prices being charged. Aside from the excellent banana pudding, jalapeño cornbread and jalapeño sausage, there was little that would motivate a return visit. For the cost, there are simply stronger barbecue options in the DFW area.
Ambiance? Ambiance? It's a bbq joint with a big-ass smoker outside and a friendly man with a large blade butchering juicy meats up front (in a good way). Kafi nails it. Staff is super nice too. Friendly and pleasant, dealing with ravenously bbq hungry Texans even as the line grew to out the door by noon is no mean feat as y'all should know. They do it with smiles. The location is nice. Good amount of parking, lots of seats including a covered outdoor area to rest your behinds. Talk to me about the BBQ you say. It is quality stuff. They had a special curry sausage in rotation this day that was absolutely magic. The texas twinky was on point and the brisket, no sauce required! That's the mark of a great brisket imo. Great bark on it, nicely smoked. Hats off to the pit master and crew. Sides were not too shabby either. The jalo cornbread was solid. ELotes were kinda weak imo, needed more spice, the mac and cheese hit the right notes. I will so be back here to try the dino ribs. I suggest arriving early as they do run out at times.
After seeing Kafi on Instagram, we decided to make the 3 hour trip from Austin to Irving just to try it out. Austin offers a ton of amazing bbq so our expectations were high. The line wasn't as long as expected for a weekend, which was a plus for us as we have a very impatient 2 year old. It took a total of 10 minutes to get through + get our food and another 20 minutes for the steak. The brisket was super tender, as was the beef rib, as was the oxtail. Honestly, there wasn't a single item on our tray that felt dry. Not even the crust on the bread lol. The bark on the meat was very tasty but not overly salty which I appreciated very much. For me, the steak and the pomegranate glazed burnt ends were the stars of the show. I was very shocked at how tender the steak was. There's zero exaggeration when I say it was melt-in-your-mouth good. I've been to Japan and this steak is very comparable to the Wagyu we had there in terms of quality which, to me, validates the price. The burnt ends are the best I've ever had. The sweetness from the pomegranate glaze was pleasant and a nice contrast to the mostly savory flavors we had going on. The fries were absolutely baller. Crispy outside and fluffy on the inside. 10/10! The Kafi team was super knowledgeable, friendly, happy, and helpful. As we waited to get through the line, I saw the owner walking around the restaurant making sure everyone was happy and thanking everyone for stopping by. I really loved that and you could tell by the way he spoke that he truly takes pride in what he and his team are doing. Overall, Kafi was everything we hoped it would be. We're very satisfied and it was very much worth the trip + the money spent.
Overall, the service was fantastic but the meats were okay. We ordered the Dino bone, wagyu brisket and pomegranate burnt ends. The brisket was a little dry and tough, nothing crazy but was expecting it to be moist and tender considering it was wagyu. The Dino ribs was a lot better than the brisket. Flavorful, tender and fell off the bone. I enjoyed the burnt ends but that's because I'm a fan of pomegranate, the taste is somewhat of an acquired taste
Had an AMAZING experience at Kafi and was a little confused why there wasn't a line around the block. No complaints from me though, this will be my hidden gem recommendation until word inevitably gets out. We pulled up for dinner with a group of 5 on a Saturday night around 7:30 PM and were lucky that they still had their Wagyu Dino Ribs available. They actually respond to their phone number via text, so you can call ahead to see what they have left. There were plenty of tables / booths available and the owner even went around to check-in with every single party on the food. Pomegranate Burnt Ends (4.75/5): Super smokey, melt in your mouth fatty, and slightly sweet. This with their fluffy, buttery bread (please I'll pay to know the recipe for this toast man) and some pickled onions is a bite that will change your life. Wagyu Brisket Empanada (4.5/5): The dough is super crunchy and has the perfect meat to carb ratio (aka high). The green sauce it comes with adds a bit of freshness and creaminess to the fatty, tender brisket. Kafi just does not miss. Wagyu Dino Rib (4.25/5): Super smoky and the bark was a little tough in some places, but generally had a fantastic texture. While it might not be the best in Texas, it's still a stand out food experience and one that you don't have to wait hours and hours in line just to find out they've run out. Tallow French Fries (4/5): Not the crispiest fries ever, but the beef fat just makes the potato taste super luxurious. Makes me sad I don't live in an era with more tallow fried fries. Smoked Gouda Mac & Cheese (4/5): I don't think the smoke flavor came though, but this is just a classy, delicious mac & cheese. No notes.
Texas-style wagyu BBQ spot in Irving! It drew my attention after its feature on Eater and I finally got a chance to try while I was back in the DFW area! The brick and mortar is spacious with many booths and tables. When we went on Sunday, there was a line to order but it moved quickly. We got the 1 lb brisket, 2 back ribs, jalapeño cheddar sausage, beef tallow fries, gouda mac and cardamom banana pudding. + the house made BBQ and spicy BBQ sauces. All of this ended up being around $100 for 4 people. I was absolutely blown away by how flavorful and juicy every meat was. I especially loved the brisket seasoning and the bite the jalapeño cheddar sausage had. Everything tasted amazing with the spicy BBQ sauce. Outside of the meats, I highly recommend the beef tallow fries which had such a rich, savory, beefy flavor. Mac I'd probably skip next time because it was dull in comparison to the fries for me. Cardamom banana pudding bad a great flavor, but I wished the pudding itself was a bit more whipped, but that's my personal preference! Everything was spectacular and we happened to meet the owner who was working that day. He was super friendly and you could tell he put a lot of love in this place! My only recommendation is to make the windows in the restaurant less dim!
Kafi BBQ has to be my favorite Texas BBQ joints I've ever had. Not only is the food amazing, but the staff & owner truly make the experience worth the trip. I don't eat pork so knowing I'm not limited to only certain menu items was extremely refreshing as everything is halal. The brisket, chicken, links, and side were all 10/10. Definitely will be back ASAP and highly highly highly recommend to anyone looking for great BBQ in the DFW area.
Incredible food made with a lot of love. We stopped by after visiting another BBQ in the morning on recommendation of a friend and the recent Texas Monthly article on the incredible French fries. The Wagyu strip steak that's been smoked and finished by deep frying in beef tallow is incredible as is the Iraqi sausage with kebab seasoning as is the incredible Texas Twinkie with house smoked cheese and wrapped in beef bacon. House made pickles and bread are also delicious. Family environment, Maine Root soda fountain, everything available rolling up at dinner time? Yes please. Owner came out and personally explained the preparation of the dishes was a big bonus too.

Born and raised in TX i know some great bbq, I have had bbq in DFW did a bbq food crawl in Austin and my visit today at Kafi just elevated my bbq experience. It's a must visit and must try for sure. I ordered the Wagyu brisket, the Wagyu back ribs and the chipotle raspberry sausage with a side of smoked gouda mac n cheese, jalapeño corn bread they forgot to pack my bbq baked beans no worries i will be back for it and for dessert i go the monthly special pistachio chocolate cheesecake. So, I think for Halal food it's probably 5 star barbecue, but as someone looking for good barbecue, this is really sub-par to the others in the area. The meat was way too fatty. I did not like the thick coating of dry rub on both the rib and brisket. They tasted exactly the same, there was no need for both. The sides were fine (corn and Mac and cheese), but not hot (as others have said). Truth be told, the only part of the meal I really enjoyed was the banana pudding. I am not their target audience, and I hope they do well for their community. Good concept, food was not for me. read more

Oh my GOD!! This literally is the best thing I've ever had. My BFF Bob works and lives mostly in Dallas. So, I went down for a November golfing weekend, and a little food. Bob already told me before I arrived that we'd be eating at Kafi. What a delightful experience. All waygu beef and all delicious. The staff was friendly and fantastic. Nice, spacious comfortable dining room. With speedy service. Just get in line and order. We had brisket, Dino bones, burnt ends, Iraqi sausage, garlic sausage, elote, Mac and cheese and baked beans. I FINALLY got to try this place!! Very good food with a unique take on Texas BBQ. If I'm being honest, it's too high end for me to go often. INCREDIBLYYYY rich and fatty. They only use wagyu beef and a special type of skinless lamb which makes it more fat than meat. Even their beef back ribs were fatty! Brisket was phenomenal. Probably best I have had. The service was exceptionally friendly. You can tell the owner truly loves what he does. The ambiance was great. Very clean and well built restaurant. Fairly high Muslim patronage and no pork is served here. Perhaps it is halal? Either way - very good place as a treat. Can't wait to try their steak. Mac and cheese is a firmer noodle which I love. Pasta salad vibes but cheesy and delicious. read more
This is such a great spot for anyone looking for halal BBQ in Dallas. I got the beef ribs, beef brisket, and mac and cheese and the BBQ was amazing. The beef ribs literally melt in your mouth, and the brisket had great flavor even though it wasn't as soft. This was the best BBQ I've ever had. The corn and Mac and cheese - amazing. The best part for me was the pomegranate glaze was perfect on the burnt ends and even the brisket. I like my brisket lean and it literally melted in my mouth. Owner and all employees were the most down to earth people I've ever met and I love that he's found a way to reuse parts of the meat that you would usually throw away. 11/10 recommended! read more

Came to Kafi to try the hyped up wagyu halal brisket and man it did not disappoint. It ate damn near perfectly. It had a texture that I truly could not describe. And the bark was also outstanding, the perfect deep smoky peppery flavor without the salt bomb and without ripping the roof of your mouth off. One down side was my slice had an abnormally large glob of inedible gristle that contributed to the weight and cost of my slice. Aside from that, the brisket was top tier and did the heavy lifting for the rest of the meal. The Iraqi sausage had a very ubiquitous flavor, very traditional tasting. Nothing about this sausage screams smoked Texas sausage. It's its own thing. Has a very different texture too. If you can get past that, then you'll really enjoy it. The jalapeño cheddar sausage had great jalapeño flavor but was lacking in cheese. The beef back ribs ate kind of dry. It was a little hard to bite through and chew, but the smoke and beef flavor was superb. The mac and cheese was ok. This was a solid 3.5-star experience, but I'll be generous and round up to 4 since they're still new and maybe working out the kinks. Clearly, the owner has done some serious outreach to all the local halal food influencers because this place has been all over my TT feed. And guess what? The marketing worked--tons of halal families were dining in, which is always a great sign. Now, let's get to the common complaint that I, too, must echo: PLEASE MAKE YOUR SIDES HOT. Like, actually hot, not just gently warmed by the memory of heat. I don't want fries that were part of a bulk batch from ten minutes ago--I will happily wait for a fresh order. That being said, these tallow-fried fries were fantastic, even lukewarm, so I can only imagine how life-changing they would be fresh out of the fryer. Our beef rib? A little on the scrawny side and a tad dry, but still flavorful. The real star was the brisket--tender, seasoned well, and the reason I'd come back. The corn? Meh, also barely warm. The free coleslaw, however, was a refreshing surprise--it's vinegar-based, which I love. I wanted to be obsessed with the cardamom banana pudding because I'm a huge cardamom fan, but while good, it's not something I'd make a special trip for. The place was hopping even at 3 PM on a Friday, so they're clearly doing something right. But please, for the love of brisket, keep an eye on the dining room--the trash cans were overflowing, and nobody wants to enjoy their meal with a side of garbage mountain. read more

As always this is my experience and opinion. I stumbled upon this place from tik tok when he first went viral. I was intrigued and I finally was able to try it this past weekend. I was excited but somewhat disappointed in my experience. First of all the price of this food is outrageous $103 for some Mac and cheese. A Dino rib. And half a pound of brisket. Wagu I get it but I just want to let everyone know wagu is just a gimmick in my own opinion. You are basically paying for the experience of saying I ate it wagu beef. It's nothing special and Kafi does a disservice to his meats. The Dino ribs bark for me tasted like just a thick layering of salt. The meat wasn't as tender as a Dino rib should be way too fatty for my taste. Now the brisket wasn't subpar it wasn't full of flavors and spice as the videos make it seem. The mac and cheese was okay and perhaps the best thing in my plate. The bread isn't special at all even if it's made in house. Now lastly the price I totally understand the market for beef prices is insane it's hit an all time high. But needless to say when you are making a purchase of this magnitude the foot verter be of the highest quality. It is not for me. I simply can't even fathom the cost of bringing a family of four to this place and everyone getting their own plate you would have to take a personal loan out I would imagine. I tried this place for the first time and I had to admit I was definitely impressed and I am not impressed easily. The restaurant is nice, and throughly lit. The employees are nice and friendly. Now to the food... I have never had lamb ribs and I to confess that those were the "BEST" ribs I have tasted in a long time so much flavor!!! The brisket was delicious and so tender I was pulling it apart with just a fork. I almost forgot got about the brisket empanada which was outstanding!! The jalapeño cornbread was delicious and flavorful, I will definitely buy more next time along with the Iraqi and habanero sausage were cooked perfect with just the right amount of seasonings. The only thing I was a lil disappointed with was the smoked gouda mac & cheese. It was not as flavorful as I was expecting, taking into consideration everything else tasted so great. The sweet tea was very good also. Overall I would recommend this restaurant and will definitely be coming back often! read more

This place is awesome. I was here for business, and I wanted to try a unique Texas-style BBQ. Kafi did not disappoint! I had Brisket, Iraqi sausage, the special Habanero Mango sausage, Pomegranate glazed burnt ends, smoked Gouda Mac & cheese, elotes, and some of their homemade bread The brisket was top notch. Peppery, perfectly tender, juicy. The smoke flavor was a touch acrid to me, but that's a very minor complaint. The sausages were both incredible and homemade. The burnt ends FLAVOR was amazing, but the cook was a bit off. They were a bit tough - almost as if overcooked or allowed to dry out a bit which is possible as I went late in the day. But the flavor was one of the top bites I've ever had. The sides were good - not stars, but not distracting. The bread and homemade pickled items were also delicious. And, the man behind the dream himself came and spoke with everyone in the lobby individually. The hospitality provided and the genuine love that exuded from that man made for a special experience. All around, this is a great Texas BBQ spot with a bit of a unique flair that'll keep you coming back for more. read more

Super pleasantly surprised to find this in Irving! Everything I got was really good! Great friendly service and really great BBQ. Brisket was fall apart tender and flavorful, baked beans were great. The gouda mac and cheese was delicious. Even the bread, similar to sweet rolls... very good! The dessert pictured is basbousa, also very good. I took everything to go but the place was kept well, very clean. Great experience, will be back for some of the same and to try more read more
Stopped by (again) at this zabiha halal bbq place in Irving this weekend and it SMACKED!! Sausage was smoky and full of flavor but not too spicy. Empanadas was my favorite. Flaky crispy crunchy served piping hot. They also have a sliced honey (made in house) bread which was perfect for making mini sandwiches can't wait to come back read more

Maybe, no definitely the best bbq I've had in Texas. The meat is halal and wagyu, and exceptional. The brisket is melting your mouth tender but the dino rib is a show stopper. It's huge, perfectly smoked and soooo satisfying. The menu is short and sweet, with everything being a must try. Everything is made in-house and the soul and love comes through in every bite. You stand in a line which goes quickly, and once it's your turn you're met with efficient and helpful service. The space is nice and open, clean and comfortable. Do not sleep on the dessert. Also homemade by the lovely young lady who is behind the counter. read more

Oh my - WOW! If this isn't on the top BBQ lists, it will be, should be. Everything we had was fantastic and service is amazing. Everyone was so nice and helpful. The lamb ribs were a fave by everyone - even those that don't usually like lamb and the pomegranate burnt ends are fantastic. Tallow fries...yes please and the banana pudding, we got 2 and they were finished up. We have a family of 5 - Mom, Dad, 3 grown boys and we were stuffed! Inside was nice and clean and the long booth was good size for our family. Total bill for all this deliciousness and drinks was just at $150 which I consider a bargain as our family has dropped WAY more to only be disappointed. If you have a BBQ lover in your family, this is a great stop. We did an early Father's Day lunch on Friday and enjoyed the size of the lunch crowd. The menu is great, something for everyone and you won't be disappointed. My only regret is that I didn't try the seasonal blueberry bread pudding dessert. I know it would have been delicious but already had so. much. YUM! read more
Great service and great mission and purpose. Food was okay with some room to improve. I do not eat only halal so this is a comparison to other bbq spots. Great option for those that eat primarily halal. The cardamom banana pudding was out of this world amazing. It is worth going just to try that, as well as their Kashmiri chai which does not have nuts like Kashmiri chai typically does. The Dino rib was also tender and juicy and the sausages both had a great flavor. The Iraqi sausage mainly reminded me of a seekh kebab but both have amazing flavors. The sides were cold for us, so because the fries are fresh and fried in beef tallow, that did not turn out well. I'm not sure if they didn't have proper equipment to keep the sides warm, but while it all tasted good, more than half of the experience was gone with them being cold. The brisket we got was also incredibly dry. It didn't seem like they had given us a lean piece but I'm guessing that's what they did. A lot of spots ask what type of cut you want but we weren't asked; I do prefer the fattiest cut so that may have been the problem. Ambiance is fine; noted that since it is a Muslim owned restaurant there is no music; but an addition of nasheeds and music would definitely add value. Would love to try this place out again when they have a bit better footing; but a great restaurant to support with a lot of potential. PS; I'm sure they're well aware of this, but halal meat is slaughtered with the blood and impurities completely drained out. As a result, halal meat (even if it's Wagyu) will naturally be more dry than its non halal counterpart.. I think finding an efficient way of keeping it as hydrated as possible during the cooking process while also maintaining a crisp bark will be key to perfecting halal Texas bbq. read more

I love the fresh take on a classic. BBQ that is, the flavor profiles are new and exciting, so many simple choices yet one of a kind. My favorite wat the fatty brisket!!! Great bark, tender and moist! I will go back for the brisket, pickled veggies and homemade bread alone. The sides were good too solid enough to pair with the BBQ. Great service friendly, patient and down to earth. Great clean venue with plenty of seating. Be ready to spend some money it is BBQ, but also some of the best cuts of meat!!! I'd say try them out at least once!! I was very pleased. PS I was not a fan of the pudding, it's just not what I am used of but I know it's for someone read more

Exactly the type of unique take on barbecue needed in DFW, especially in a diverse area like Valley Ranch. I've been here a few times since they opened, and each time is getting better. There are still small tweaks that could be made to really elevate some of the dishes (like pre-roasting the jalapeños to perfection before dressing them us for the Texas twinkies), but I can't complain. Kafi really shines when they embrace Iraqi flavors like with the pomegranate burnt ends and the Iraqi sausage. Everything at Kafi is halal, so there is no pork. Wow--this place absolutely blew me away! The food was nothing short of amazing. Every bite was packed with flavor, and the meats were so tender they practically melted in my mouth. The jalapeño sausage was the standout for me--perfectly balanced with just the right kick of spice and a deep, smoky flavor that lingered in the best way. The brisket was juicy with a rich bark, and even the sides were spot-on (don't skip the pickled veggies--they cut the richness beautifully). First time here, its like a standard BBQ spot where you stand in line to order. I ordered the rack of lambs ($35/lbs, Mac and cheese, beef empanada ($7), pomegranate burnt ends( $22/lb) and baked beans. Let me start of by saying I will definitely be back: -the rack of lambs were a tad but salty but fall off the bone - burnt ends were my FAVORITE! they put a pomegranate glaze on it which was so good. It was soft but had that crispness to it - beef empanada was really good too. It has cheese and corn in it, but could've had a little more beef to it -the baked beans are not like the ones you usually order. They are seasoned with a touch of sweetness. -mac and cheese flavor was very good but it was a little cold They also gave you complementary bread. Additionaly the staff was very nice and patience which makes it or break it if I come back to an establishment. If you are in the Dallas area, I would definitely hit this one up compared to the other popular ones. read more
DINO RIB ALL DAY!!! To be honest, I didn't even realize the Dino rib was a thing. I absolutely inhale the beef rib at Terry Blacks but this is another level. The rib was so juicy and tender, and something I would definitely order again and again. Honestly, if I came back I'd prob just order two of these and call it a day. As for the other stuff, I'm not sure I would. The lean brisket definitely failed the pull test and just wasn't as tender as I'd expect. The fatty brisket was significantly better but it doesn't beat the other bbq places imo. I do love the unique flavoring with the spices. Who know- maybe the Dino rib we so out of this world that everything else sort of paled in comparison? Maybe eat it last if you check this place out! This is a bit more random but I love the Maine root soda selection! Mexican cola and all the flavors add to the whole experience and complement the bbq. When I saw there was a wagyu halal TX bbq spot I had to check it out for myself! I'm not an avid bbq eater, but when unique or fusion bbq spots pop up they always peak my interest. Between my partner and I we ordered 1/2 lb of fatty brisket, 1 dino rib, pomegranate burnt ends, 1 Iraqi sausage, corn, fries and cardamom banana pudding. The dino rib was so juicy and melted off the bone. The burnt ends had amazing flavors. The brisket was also good, but the other two meats definitely outshined the brisket IMO. The Iraqi sausage was very flavored, but also kinda dense making it seem drier than what you'd expect. We loved their take on the banana pudding and would order it again! It wasn't busy at all on a Saturday around 1PM. The owner was super friendly and even came up to our table to personally ask how everything was! read more

I'm in Dallas visiting my daughter. I only had one BBQ place to visit and my daughter recommended this place. The service was great and we sat on the patio which had comfortable couches. The food was excellent! I've been a BBQ snob since living in Houston for some years now back in the Midwest you just can't find good bbq (except maybe KC) anyway. Had the brisket, homemade sausage and the Texas twinkies. Loved it all AND the jalapeño corn bread was off the chain. Even got to meet the owner, really nice guy. I'll be back for sure. read more
