I'm rating this place 5 stars because I don't see any close by competition. For some reason I keep getting Afgani food vibes from this place (less spices) but the dishes are made as if it were persian/indian inspired. I always take my food to go from here because the portions for myself are pretty sustaining where I can't eat in one sitting. So far I've tried the spicy chicken koobideh plate and the 1/2 spicy chicken and 1/2 beef koobideh plate. The beef wasn't really that great quality in my opinion so I can't really recommend it. The spicy chicken is the way to go. This place is good I like it. I'm interested in trying the grilled Salmon one of these days. read more

You can find Kabobish at 3555 Gwinnett Place Drive, Duluth, GA 30096 between Pleasant Hill Rd and the parking lot for Gwinnett Place Mall. It's kind of behind the Panda Express and Wendy's on the main drag and just short of the really fantastic Breakers Korean BBQ. Parking is in the lot out front and to the side - there's plenty. I found out about this place by accident and took a special trip out to try it out one weekend afternoon. The exterior has a red-and-black striped awning and they occupy the corner of a row of buildings. The interior has a chain-restaurant, fast casual feel (I'm not sure what it was before but suspect a different restaurant) - there are exposed beams in the ceiling - I"m guessing something Latino? In any case, you walk in and get in line to order at the corner - in the front you'll see these really beautiful copper tandoor ovens but they weren't fired up while I was there. The menu was listed on monitors above the counter and exposed kitchen - lots of glass and stainless steel with simple furnishings - it has all the earmarks of a chain but I couldn't find out any information on it while I was seated waiting for my food. From the website (look for kabob-ish) this may be the first of a new concept with a focus on healthy foods (and yes I approve - it seemed to be an Indian take on Zoe's and included some Mediterranean and Caribbean options). It took about 10 minutes for the food to arrive. I wanted to sample the most that I could so I opted for a combination of two kabobs, the Chicken Tikka and the Saffron Tikka (chicken). Both were really moist and delicious with the infused marinades and slightly crusty flame broiled flavors that I've come to love. Next time I'll try the shrimp and lamb. I asked for both kinds of rice and while I did eat them, I thought they were pretty bland but maybe that's the point? They did offer a contrast to the very flavorful meats. You also get a bit of salsa fresca, some fresh sliced onion and a lime (similar to what you might find with tandoori chicken at an Indian or Pakistani restaurant). There are additional side sauces including some chili that I liked quite a bit. The service was, well counter service so I can only say that the person behind the register was very knowledgeable and made some recommendations from my questions - very kind and I could tell she really liked the food (she recommended the jerk for something different but for my first visit I demurred). Overall a top-notch experience for a single diner on a sleepy afternoon. I think this is a fine concept and I look forward to dining again. read more

The food tasted really good. But the atmosphere was not comfortable because the restaurant was not clean. The bathroom floors didn't look cleaned in a long time and tables and floors in dining area were dirty. Health department score 88. People were very nice but chef didn't wear mask. Disappointed based on ratings I had seen. Dined are 4:15pm - seems they'd have things in better order before the dinner crowd. read more

Pretty decent kabob otp. I often get the chicken saffron and if I'm feeling fancy the lamb kabob. It is enough to share with the amount of rice and salad they give you. I finally got to try Kabobish after some time. I was in Duluth and didn't want any Asian food and wanted Mediterranean food. Honestly, I wanted falalfel but Kabobish didn't have any. I saw that they had a chickpea bowl which interested me. It's a casual fast food type of restaurant. I knew where it was located since it occupy a Korean bakery that I loved back then next to Jeju Sauna. In addition to the chickpea bowl, I also ordered the paneer tikka. I just wanted to taste it and only got a few pieces. My daughter ordered the beef kabob. Each dish comes with choice of basmati rice - white, saffron, veggie paluo, or dill style. After ordering, they ask for your name and call it when food is ready. I'm used to this since this is how it is at Global Mall and most Desi fast food type of places. With that being said, I think Kabobish is like a mix of Persian, Pakistani, and Indian cuisines all mix in one. I get it. I felt it's more on the bland side like for Persian food cause Indian food has lots of flavors and I didn't taste that. Food came out in 15 mins or so. There are a four different sauces you that is by the drink machine - hot, green, rance, balsamic vinegar. The green sauce is good, not as strong and flavorful as the green sauce I get at Desi places, it's a mint base and is creamy. The hot sauce is good, I could do more spicy but it's the right amount without crying, so definitely much spicier than sriracha. Chickpea bowl - what's up with all the raw onions on top??? It was also drizzled in the green sauce. I would have preferred it be separated like the other dishes. I like onions but not that much and especially raw like that. Taste wise, there is flavor but I wanted it stronger. With the help with the hot and green sauce, it taste even better. Got white rice with the chickpea bowl. Paneer tikka - it seriously looked like chicken, then again, it did look like tofu but not as crispy. Great color. Not a big taste of the flavor. Thank goodness it was just three pieces. Or was it four? Daughter and I are not a fan of it. Had to pour white and hot sauce on it to make it edible. Saffron rice with dish. Beef kabobs - it was medium done well. However, daughter says it could use more flavors. White rice with dish. Overall, the experience is not bad. Just wish we liked the food much more. I rather drive farther to get good food. Kabobish, not a bad place to get some quick Mediterranean food. This place has seating (inside/outside) for around 20-30 people and its set up similar to a Chipotle or Subway where the food prep can be seen as you wait in line. You get to seem them skewer and cooked the meat over the flame grill. The wait wasn't too long for me, this probably differs depending on how busy they are and the time of day. There are mostly meat dishes so vegetarians may have a hard time here, they do have a hummus and bread dish, but the non meat dishes are almost non existent on the menu. Link to the menu can be found below the review. In terms of meat you have tons of options: lamb, beef, chicken, and some seafood like shrimp and salmon. All good choices! Most dishes come with your choice of rice and a salad. You also have an assortment of sauces that you can added to each as well, that can be found on its own stand to side of the cash register. In terms of taste, I've had better kebabs from other places. It wasn't bad here, I still thought it tasted good just wasn't anything too special for me. What Up Yelp! Eh Look. Not a bad spot for a different alteratie to your tier 1 dining. Instead of fast food or a wing place, you may want to try this take out simple dine in place called Kabobish near Pleasant Hill. It has a bunch of things on the menu such as lamb or beef gyros, chicken tisala, koobideh (beef or spicey chicken), chops, salmon, jamaican jerk, shrimp, a sampler, paneer tikka. Lots of items I myself would like to sample. Had the gyro. It was not over the top with portions but it was average at best. Enough to go on the rest of the day and try something else so you can review on yelp. Prices were a tad, just a tad bit higher than I would expect for a place like that with most menu items ranging between $9-10 without a drink. The service is average. This place is great! I posted pictures of the restaurant, but not the food. I was way too hungry! I ordered the Salmon dish which came with a choice of rice. I sampled three varieties of rice and went with the veggie rice. The salmon-3 reasonable sized pieces (cashier recommended-cooked well). The rice was very light and tasted pretty good. The salmon was fresh and seasoned just right. I definitely enjoyed my meal. We split it amongst two of us (women) and were both pretty full afterwards. I will definitely visit this place again to try the other items on the menu, but the salmon is definitely a staple. *It's located next to the JeJu Sauna. read more

In a strip mall another place that we would never had found without yelp. We had the spicy chicken and beef kebob and they were made fresh in front of us. The taste was nice and it was very very fresh. The place is not much to eat at rather is a ok place but for a medium fast meal it is a good choice with rice and proteins. read more

Very disappointed with this place and will never come again. We discovered it at a Pakistan festival. He was super friendly when he was hoping to make a sale. I ordered a meal for my small children. Paid. And asked for one extra plastic plate so the children could divide it. I have done this for the entire nine years I've been a parent at many places without anyone blinking. I guess it's okay. Based on the reviews, I was expecting better. I ordered the Koobideh Sampler which is 1 skewer of chicken and 1 skewer of beef and comes with a choice of rice. The seasonings on both were decent. The chicken had a nice spice. I wasn't too keen on the textures of either one. Yes, I know the meat is ground, but I still didn't like the texture as even for ground meat, it was still too soft for my liking. Also, I was expecting more of a char-grilled flavor since I watched it being put over an open flame. As I stated, the skewers came with a choice of rice. You can get dill with lima beans, white rice, white/saffron rice, or veggie pilaf. Based on the reviews, I went with the dill and lima beans. This rice had no flavor at all. It tasted bland and like nothingness. I was quite disappointed. My meal also came with a salad greens and a tomato/oinion mixture. Some very young employees didn't greet me when I came in and after waiting a few seconds too long for them to finish their playful conversation, I was asked, "What can I get ya?" I was given a pager and my food took about 10 minutes to get ready. It wasn't busy when I went. About three tables were sitting and waiting for food. They have sauces available. Ranch, their house green sauce, a hot sauce, and a balsamic vinaigrette. The vinaigrette was very good. I think the green sauce if supposed to go over the rice, but I needed that rice to be able to stand up on its own. The atmosphere here is comfortable. I would be able to eat in. It is spacious and has an outdoor/patio area also. There is a flat screen tv inside. Very disappointed with this restaurant lately. We started going to Kabobbish in Duluth a few years ago and loved it. Great portions and options. I always get the grilled salmon with the saffron rice. The side salad used to be a decent size and was basically a mixed lettuce with a a mixture of fresh tomatoes, cucumber and cilantro on top...simple but good. I even remember getting grilled a tomato (which I haven't had in a while). I went today for the first time in months and am not impressed. The prices are about what they used to be (maybe a bit higher), but the salad is so pitiful. It's just plain iceberg lettuce and some onion slices. After spending $14 for a salmon plate and $10 for a beef kabob plate, I expect more than iceberg lettuce. When I asked the guy at the register, he said that they no longer serve that tomato topping on the salad. I asked him why the prices weren't lowered and he said that the plates were always priced for the meat and not the sides. I have never heard of this at any Mediterranean spot that I've visited. The salmon is ok, but not even as good as it used to be. Moving forward, I will be going to Pita Corner in Lawrenceville. Not worth the money here anymore. read more

Forgot to write a review for this place and am glad they are still in business after all these years. Yes, the menu items are cooked to order so there is a bit of a wait to get your food but who doesn't want their food nice and HOT/fresh. My last experience here was great from start to finish. I called in a phone order, gave them the exact time I was expecting to pick up the order and they made sure it was ready on time. The one thing I hate about phone orders that are not handled well is you end up waiting longer than planned instead of picking up your order immediately upon arrival. The staff at Kabobish did not disappoint. My phone order was handled with professionalism and efficiency. Huge fan of the saffron and dill rice here. The lamb kabobs are my favorite and of course the chicken tikka is pretty darn tasty. I like that their meats are not salty and plenty of self serve sauces available whether you dine in or get take out. They have free parking available and are located next to the Jeju Sauna in Duluth. Came here on a Sunday night with 4 others. Had no clue what to get. Ended up with the #2 combo with white rice I think? The food was good. Made to order mostly. I can't say this place just wowed me or was bad. Random note is that they were out of straws which is annoying but I understand it happens. Heard good things about the salmon. I recently catered from Kabob-ish for a party of 30. The food was fresh, perfectly cooked and just delicious. The owner clearly takes a lot of pride in what he prepares! I recommend the Chicken Tikka and the Jamaican Jerk Chicken meal. All meals come with a side salad and rice. The chicken is well seasoned and very tender. Recently they updated the menu with additional meal options as well as providing an option for small plates. If you like pita bread and hummus you can add a small order to you meal for only $2. A solid no frills Mediterranean place. It's connected to Jeju Sauna in the middle of K-town so that's a little odd but whatever. The place is a good size that can hold about 25ish inside and about 15 or so in the patio. The inside is well maintained. The menu has the same things I've seen in other Med places (lamb, Gyro, beef, chicken, etc) but one upside is that the plates are mostly $10 and a few $11-12 whereas other Med places charge closer to $12-14/plate. One recommendation is to include a little pita but it's still a good deal regardless. The flavor was really good as well. I got the chicken, which was juicy and plump. The rice was just rice but the veggies were fresh. Overall, the dish was tasty and well cooked. The guys working there were helpful and the food came out relatively quickly. A coworker once brought good from here and it looked and smelled amazing so it made me curious. I decided to check it out with my sister and the inside of the place is pretty average but smelled great. We wanted to just order kabobs but we didn't see an option to do so without the rice and salad. As we gave our order, we opted to order 3 different plates to try different kabobs and the the rest home. The youth at the cash register keep asking if we were sure we wanted 3 dishes. At first we didn't mind the question but after the 4th time I felt my sister was about to snap..... This kind of put us in a mood with the place so we felt off afterwards. My boyfriend suggested Kabobish because we were looking for something good but also healthy, nothing greasy or anything like that. Kabobish is located at the corner of Jeju Sauna near gwinnett place mall. There's seating inside and outside (kind of like a tent so you're not dealing with the wind). The menu is on the top wall where you order so I would recommend looking at the menu online first to find out what you want if you go during a busy time because there's not much room to just sit and contemplate. We got the Kubeideh sampler to share since I wasn't fully starving. I didn't expect much going in so I was pleasantly surprised when I tried it. The kabobs were pretty on point. I used to love this place! I'm definitely not going to be back, there are only so many things you can change in the name of inflation. The fact that they've gone from giving 2 peices of meat in there platters to 1, they have increased prices by almost $4-$5 and now there salads have no onions tomatoes etc. It's only lettuce. They have now put a limit on there sauces, I'm a sauce person I used to love this place for the marination of their meat the quality of their meat the value and their sauces. Honestly there's no reason for me to go back the value is not there the beef is low quality and their sauces and salads leave something to be desired. It's sad how far this place has fallen. Used to be our favorite go to for Middle Eastern fare in the Duluth area. Now with new owners, the customer service is horrible. After spending $20+ on food, we could not even be given tzatziki sauce to enjoy with our meal. Kabobish is located next to Jeju sauna and the sun and moon cafe! The service of this location is amazing! I always feel welcome when I go in and the workers will let you sample the rice if you don't know which ones to pick! I always go for the Lima bean and dill rice! The price is a little above the average lunch cost but to be honest, calorie-wise it's low and it being gluten free is an added bonus! I always say you can't complain if you want to put healthier food in your body! The menus range is like $10, you can add extra protein for $4 I tried the koobideh and paneer! I honestly prefer the chicken just because it isn't as oily, I think the size is bigger than the beef too! Portions are important! Paneer is basically grilled cheese with spices and it's lower in calorie than most cheeses! So you can really treat yo self! If you're in a hurry you have to order online just because waiting takes like 10-20 minutes! They actually cook your meat when you order it so you have to be patient! I have become a regular customer because I'm addicted to their amazing version of Butter Chicken, which is somewhere between authentic Butter Chicken and Chicken Tikka. The portion is generous enough to split with my wife, the chicken is SO flavorful, the sauce is absolutely wonderful and the Basmati rice is the perfect accompaniment. I decided to stray away from my typical spots in this area. I have always been a fan of Persian food, and I happened to stumble upon this place located next to Jeju sauna. It is a welcoming restaurant with clear views of the chef grilling the kabobs and the fresh ingredients they use as toppings. Everything seems delicious on the menu, ranging from lamb/beef kabobs to their version of Jamaican jerk chicken. I opted for a the beef kabob. There is also a plethora of rice options to choose from such as saffron rice to the popular dill rice. I can't say no to saffron rice. This and a drink ran around $12, not bad considering the kind of lunch I was getting. The food took quite a bit longer than I had anticipated, but I guess they were grilling the kabob with tender care. My buzzer rang, and I went pick up my plate. The plates are a thick kind of disposable paper plate with disposable silverware. The combination of fresh onions, beef kabob, and rice was delicious! This Duluth location has become the John Creek location's shabby and unkempt brother. The restaurant has become visibly dirty and lazy. I'm not sure what happened. The food in the Johns Creek spot is higher quality too. A few things: you can smell the icky bathrooms from the dining area, the doors were open and the A/C was off or broken, the lettuce in my gyro was visibly old and browning, a large trash barrel welcomed you at the entrance, sumac is no longer on the tables or visible, and all of the straps for the high chairs were broken. We won't be back to this location. This place used to be mobbed and it was dead during prime dining hours. Bad sign. Learn from Johns Creek. read more

I've come here several times in the last few weeks! I thought I had already left them a 5 star review. This place is amazing! I took my parents and friends here and everyone has approved. Their meats are savory, but healthy. Not too greasy. The manager has a nut and egg allergy so he wanted to create a place where the food would be eggless and nutless and still amazing. My favorite meats here are the jamaican jerk chicken, mango habanero wings, and spicy chicken khoobideh. However, lamb chops, beef khoobideh, and shrimp are still a great bet! And if you're willing to try something that isn't meat and AMAZING its the Paneer Tikka. Most orders come with your choice of rice and a small salad. The rice and salad are even more amazing with their green chutney. And drinks wise, they have a coke machine where you can choose exactly which flavors you want. I work about 7 minutes away from Kabob-ish, but never knew this place existed until last night. The Yelp Elite crew put me on and I'm glad they did. I was served three types of rice, beef, shrimp and lamb. All were seasoned so so well. The beef was my favorite. It didn't take long for my food to come out and every bit was delectable. You should try their popsicles--amazing. Upon leaving, I ordered the beef kabobw/saffron rice dinner ($13.99) for my mom. She told me that it was so good that she had to tell herself to stop eating so she could salvage some for lunch today. I think I've found a new lunch spot.
