if I could give this place 6 stars I would!!! wow i'm pakistani and this place is gold for pakistani food. their nihari is sooooo good. my friend has gotten theo barbecue before and he loved that! this time, my family and I ordered vegetarian options- daal and palak paneer. both were SOOOOO flavorful. I recommend coming hungry bc this place will fill you up bc you won't be able to stop! their naan is also 6/5

Haleem is like Karachi. I could live off of it. Chicken Malai Boti is SO juicy & flavorful. Would 100% recommend.

I ordered two veggie biryani's and palak gosht. I have tried tikka masala at Kabana as well. I love the spinach They have lunch specials as well during weekdays. I was a regular at indus village for years. They closed, unfortunately. Kabana is good quality.

Best Pakistani food in Berkeley! This place has been around for years, and I am impressed at how consistent they keep the quality of their food. Being Pakistani myself, I am a tough critic of Pakistani restaurants and I have tried several in this part of the Bay Area. Kabana is definitely at the top when it comes to authentic Pakistani food. Now on to the food! This was my first time ever ordering the Plain Paratha, as it's very hard to nail a paratha, especially if you're like me and used to amazing street food parathas from Pakistan. I'll just say I'm so glad my dad convinced me to order and try it! It was unbelievably delicious and tasted authentic, so flaky, buttery on the inside and crisp on the outside, I was in high calorie heaven. It tastes great with chai or with a Chicken Karahi. The plain paratha is a must order when you go, you won't be disappointed! I also tried their mango lassi which was delicious, just wish it was colder. I'm a pescatarian so I ordered the Paneer Tikka masala instead of the chicken, and it was made very well. It tasted delicious with the fluffy garlic naan and dipping the paratha in that sweet sauce tastes so yummy! I do love spice so I think the tikka masala would taste amazing if it was a tad bit spicy with less cream, that would make it 5 star dish. My family and I love this place have been coming here for more than a decade. FYI if you're a goat fan order the Goat Palao (a goat bone broth infused rice dish with goat pieces), my parents couldn't stop raving about it. It's the only place they will eat when visiting Berkeley!

** The following review reflects my delivery experience DURING the COVID-19 pandemic. ** This is exactly the type of Indian spot I would've never noticed had there not been a pandemic because it's on that congested part of University close to San Pablo where drivers are racing to get onto the freeway. I'm sure this place was a blur until I noticed it on the Grubhub app for delivery. I couldn't help but notice the reasonable prices, presumably targeted to cash-strapped UC Berkeley students, which of course, made me wonder how good it could possibly be. To my amazement, the food turned out to be pretty tasty and filling. For my dinner with Jamie W., I went for my go-to, the $8.99 Tandoori Chicken Legs which was actually an ample amount of moist dark meat (an extra thigh was thrown in for good measure) nicely charred and ready to devour (photo: https://bit.ly/3rXNx1z) - even though they included a side of raw red onions and cucumber slices for presumably a garnish in the dinner plate I never took out of the cupboard (photo: https://bit.ly/3bRVYGc). For Jamie, we ordered the $7.99 Chicken Curry. It was a hefty portion in a plastic container which we poured over some cauliflower rice we microwaved (photo: https://bit.ly/3bWcHIy). Perhaps a tad oily but still awfully tasty. I guess we needed a vegetable side dish, so I settled on the $7.99 Aloo Ghobi, which was a thick mix of cauliflowers and potato chunks that was not quite the greenery we probably should have had. But what the hell, we was hungry and it stuck to our ribs (photo: https://bit.ly/38O4Tqg). So now we can glance toward Kabana as we pass by on University and realize there are bargain-priced, satisfying eats. FOOD - 4 stars...tasty homestyle eats AMBIANCE - n/a...just a delivery experience SERVICE - 4 stars...pretty fast and ample portions TOTAL - 4 stars...Indian food for a healthy appetite RELATED - Looking for Indian food? Hey Y'all, Went here…read morethe night going into my birthday a few days ago. I totally forgot the name of it, someone took me here, but I hunted it down just to leave a review! THIS IS A GREAT BAR. one of the best I ever been to. Their food is so good, I am still thinking about their prawn street tacos and the prawn flatbread. I wish I had some right now! I can taste it in my mouth, oh lord. They have one of the BEST BARTENDERS EVER, her name is Adela, I hope I am spelling that correctly. She was so beautiful, she had long beautiful dread locks. We talked and she was very welcoming her and Nicholas who birthday was a day before mines, he was so cool. They made sure we had everything we needed and our drinks was to our likings, she was very very informative about our drinks, what was in it, and she even had great detail to the things we wanted/looking for in our drinks. I still can not get off how good the food was. This place is a VIBE, period. Music was on POINT! and its very cute and I LOVE THE HUGE OPEN window, wish I got a pic of it. It wasn't loud, ghetto or dirty, just a nice place to vibe, have a very good drink and great food. I can not wait to come back and see you guys, EVERYONE PLEASE CHECK THEM OUT. 1000/10. LOVE YOU GUYS!

I tried two different drinks and requested a re-do with less ginger but they both still had this spicy, ginger-y taste-- not for me, personally. and their soft drinks are very limited, only carrying Mexican coke that's $5 a bottle. after we were seated, it took about 15-20 mins before someone checked on us again. and that was kind of the theme throughout the night. but the servers were lovely! maybe someone didn't show for their shift. the food is verrrrry good though. maybe some spicier sauce options would be nice. i think the chutney is the spiciest they have. the white sauce is also very yummy too. would visit again just because the food is that good.

We dined at Mount Everest Restaurant for a late lunch, and it was a pleasant experience. While I've…read moredined here before, it was my first time returning after a few years. Both my mom and I ordered lunch specials, and it seemed to be a good value. I especially enjoyed the naan and malai kofta and the salad was a nice side too. I was not a fan of the chana masala, as it seemed to lack flavor and the sauce was slightly watery. I opted for mild level of spice, since I was concerned the meal would be too spicy, but that was not the case. We also ordered some pappadum along with chicken momos to share, and it was an alright dish, although I did think the filling wasn't quite tasty. The sauce was a nice touch, and helped add a small burst of flavor and a mild kick. Customer service was great and attentive and the restaurant was nicely decorated with a cozy vibe. Overall, our meal was enjoyable and I am glad that there was an option to order lunch specials for weekend lunch. Although, I wished some items were more flavorful or spicy. I'd possibly return to try other items on the menu if I'm nearby or visiting campus. Seems like a pretty solid spot for Nepalese/Indian food!
