Eventhough the Chai was so bad last time that I figured I wouldn't even come back for afternoon tea, we came back for afternoon tea. But it really was only bc we had credits to use from the Chase credit card deal and this was one of the covered places. The chai did not taste like soap this time, thankfully. It was actually very close to how my parents make it. So I liked it and had like 3 cups of it. The food was pretty good except for dessert. But even that didn't bother me too much just bc by that point I was stuffed and I add sugar to my chai. I got the gluten free afternoon tea. It was good mostly. The scone was really good. The cucumber sandwich was very bland and the curried crab was fishy and bland. The deviled egg was too mustard-y. And the desserts were all bad, maybe frozen and just not good tasting (there were 3 small ones). We got there at 1:15 and we were seated in the back, pretty far from the harpist. A host quickly seated us, and our server explained the happy hour and regular menu to us. We decided on the paratha smash burger, spaghetti bolognese, and for drinks the lusty monk and mango uncensored. Our drinks came first - we thoroughly enjoyed the lusty monk which was essentially a spiced margarita. The mango uncensored was more of a miss - it tasted nice but seemed a bit bland for a full-price cocktail. It comes with a small piece of mango sweet on top of the ice cube which didn't do much for me. Now the food - which was fantastic. The standout here was the paratha smash burger - I've never tried a paratha burger and I absolutely loved it!! The meat was seasoned very well and I loved the onion and cheese pairing as well. The paratha was buttery and went so nicely with the rest of the ingredients. The masala fries were crisp and made a lovely pairing with the chutney. The spaghetti bolognese was also very tasty - the keema was nicely seasoned and I also enjoyed the cheesy garlic bread that comes with it. That being said, the bolognese didn't strike me as a particularly impressive or unique dish, though the flavors were excellent. The quesadilla was incredible, and the Texas egg rolls were packed with flavor. The biggest surprise of the trip was the chicken pizza. The combination of mushrooms, balsamic glaze, and melted cheese was absolute perfection. From the outstanding food to the impeccable service, BPD has earned a spot on our list of favorite restaurants. This was one of the most disturbing experiences I've ever had at a restaurant…read more Someone in our group left behind a Chanel bag containing a phone, keys, wallet, cash, and credit cards. The next morning, we called the restaurant and asked whether anything had been turned in. We were told that nothing had been found. Using Apple's Find My feature, we were able to determine that the belongings were still at the restaurant. We returned, and only then were the items produced. The explanation we received raised serious concerns and did not match what we had been told earlier. Instead of taking ownership of the situation, responsibility appeared to be shifted elsewhere. What made the experience even worse was the apparent effort to prevent us from speaking directly with a manager who was present. As customers, we expected transparency, accountability, and urgency when dealing with valuable personal property--not conflicting explanations and barriers to getting answers. A restaurant's reputation isn't just built on its food; it's built on trust. When guests entrust their belongings to a business, intentionally or accidentally, they deserve honesty and professionalism. Thankfully, the items were eventually recovered, but only after we located them ourselves. Had we not used Apple's tracking technology, I genuinely question whether they would have been returned. Management should conduct a thorough investigation into how this situation was handled and take responsibility for improving its procedures. No customer should have to track down their own belongings after being told they were never found.
