Pros: They have a decent arcade. Cons: Long wait times with unclear guidance on when you'll race again, $10 for a cheese quesadilla. Track is small with lots of tight turns and not really any straightaways to build up speed. The carts are electric and don't provide the thrill of gas powered carts. The carts are stiff and difficult to turn. P.S. If your going here to show young kids a good time, it will do. Disorganized but so much fun after the long wait. If they were more organized, I am confident they would be able to tell us exactly how long the wait is, or call us on a beeper, but they don't do that so you have no clue of your wait time which frustrates me. There's a general disrespect for my time. I didn't mind paying $45 for two races, my hertz car rental though was only $35 for whole day... this allowed kids with no license to drive??? Not sure this is worth it for an adult with a Tesla or Porsche. Great for kids. read more

K1 Speed was my first go karting experience ever and it was a lot of fun! I would come back again to race my friends but only if we come on an off day or first thing in the morning when they open. Experience I came to race with 5 of my friends (group of 6) first thing Saturday morning since we figured it would be busy. And am I glad that we did. We were told that they were busy with 4 reservations later in the afternoon. We purchased our races online and so the check in process was smooth. You need to check in and sign a safety waiver when you first arrive. If you don't have an annual membership then you also need to get that at this point (about $8). There's a safety briefing and then after that they will call your names up when it is time to race! The race will last about 5 minutes, depending on how fast your group races. The race lasts until the first person goes 14 laps (my groups average lap time was about 22 seconds). The go karts are electric powered and go pretty fast. I had the chance to race 3 times, and each time I got a different go kart. I didn't mind having different karts, but how far you push in for the karts varied so drastically. That was one thing I was so surprised about. There are rules about no bumping into each other. I bought a helmet camera for the video for $5, but probably wouldn't get it again since it doesn't capture how I felt the racing was. It was a fun buy for the memories though. You get to the video on a QR code that you can download the video at. Food There is food offered here but I did not try any. See my picture of the menu to see what's offered! Atmosphere Pretty clean go-kart business that has large areas to watch the races from. Plenty of space to sit down and watch. Many arcade games around while you wait for your turn to race. Race track itself was fun and was sizeable for an indoor track in the Bel-Red area. Pricing I don't have experience to compare this place with other go-kart business, but I feel like it was worth it for my first time. Service Good service as they try to hustle everyone along to decrease wait times for everyone. Other Plenty of parking in the area. The cars and track here are the main attraction and are functional but neither are top-notch and the track hasn't changed in 20 years. Food here is a joke, both the quality and the price. I wouldn't serve it in a prison. Customer service really needs improvement, most importantly by putting an adult in charge. The entire place is too loud and makes coordinating activities much more difficult than it needs to be. I came on crutches and it is a nightmare for the disabled. When the youngsters staffing this place don't have a customer in their face they are playing cards behind the counter. The kids enjoyed the racing and pool table but even a bunch of young teen boys were not impressed with the pizza. There are plenty of other ways to spend over $1200 on a birthday party that are far better in every one of these categories, so I don't think I'll come back. read more

I love going to the Redmond K1 Speed. The go karts on speed 4 are the perfect speed to have fun and even just to race with friends at a pace you can take FAST or if you want, you can take it slow. The employes at k1 are really caring/nice. My favorite 2 employes are Jacob and Evelyn both are nice and gave me advice on how to take turns on the track. read more

To the manager/owner of the Redmond, WA location: At the very least, please invest in training your staff the basics of customer service. I understand this is not a professional establishment but that doesnt mean your customers have to put up with unprofessional and rude staff. Not to mention, incapable of executing simple instructions and/or effectively answer questions. Valeria, Calvin - these were the front desk staff that clearly did not want to work there when we visited. And that's totally understandable. But maybe dont take it out on your paying customers? They (front staff) set the customer's overall experience. I've had better service at a mcdonalds - and that says a lot. The only person that may have redeemed our experience was Junior. He treated everyone equally and with respect. Again - basic customer service. I would appreciate hearing back from the manager on how they will work on ensuring this doesnt happen again, if they care at all. read more

If you can already drive [ie not a child] I would not recommend this place. I have been twice. Both times did two races. Both times one of the races had cars that wernt fully charged [speed went from 20 second laps to nearly 24 second laps and not a single person passed another person]. The second time I bought this to the front desk attends attention. Here is how the conversation went. Me: the cars aren't fully charged Employee : oh no they are charged Me: showing her the print out from the two races , "how come I went 4 seconds slower the second race despite not touching the brake the second time " Employee : you might have been on a speed limit Me: how do I get a race that is not speed limited? The second race was not nearly as fun Employee : actually we are having problems with the cars. We have had a busy day and they aren't getting fully charged . I would come earlier next time. What the heck? If I would have known that I would have gone somewhere else. I already know how to drive. The only reason to go indoor go Karting is to go fast. A non charged car is akin to bumper carts at the state fair [atleast I would be able to get some funnel cake and a turkey leg]. I would avoid this place as the fun factor isn't there read more

Come for a few races, but don't rent the room. Two stars is "Could've been better" and that is 100% true. Let me start by saying that when the karts are going full speed you will have a good time. Electric karts are better than gas. However our experience was riddled with tiny annoyances that made this a two star experience. First off, don't rent the room for parties. It's a ripoff. We paid $92 per person (after tax and fees, surprise!!) for two races instead of $43 per person. You may ask what the extra $49 per person got us? We got four pizzas and got to use the party room for a bit. That's it. The room wasn't even fully cleaned before we were given access. We also had to ask for more plates. So what exactly was the mandatory $75 gratuity for?? Also, a huge annoyance was that you were not allowed to bring in food or beverages of your own. They don't even have a drinking fountain. If a place of business causes people to get sweaty & thirsty and has a running water hookup and you *don't* have a drinking fountain, you know its omission was a conscious choice. That's the kind of business this is: one that forces you to spend money on water and wasteful plastic bottles. You *are* allowed to bring in cakes, but only if they are store-bought apparently. Why? Why can't I make my own and bring it in? It seems arbitrary and stupid. And then there was the organization and scheduling. We were told to arrive at 5pm for our safety briefing. But we stood around for about 30 minutes since the staff was so busy and not paying attention to us. That was a poor experience. We start our first race until an hour after we arrived. And then there were some problems with the racing itself. Places I have been to exclusively use lap times to determine placing. But this place uses standings, which makes people drive like jerks. If you get behind a slow driver that doesn't want to let you pass, you're screwed. But the rules they impose promote that behavior. They should just do lap times. Also, the floor is pretty slick, so if you have max power allowed it's very easy to spin out around corners. The track is so small and tight it's hard to hit decent speeds. But that's only *if* they enable the full speed for you. We did two races, and the speed governor was only fully removed halfway through our last race. So 75% of our experience was at a slower speed. That was really crappy too. That last half race was way more fun than the first race, so why not enable that the whole time? If we come back we'll definitely do it more intelligently. I'll bring my own water bottle, since they force you to buy water. We won't rent a room and pay $50 *extra* per person for dirty tables and some Zeek's pizza. And we won't book ahead of time; we'll just come in and race. And hopefully they'll give us the full-speed experience the whole time. This place tries to milk you if you don't know what you're doing. read more

The track is too small and the turns are pretty narrow. Almost impossible to pass the slower drivers. They require a $7 membership on top of the race fee. It was about $54 all said and done as they require 2 races. The assistant manager never let us know about the special which gets you a free t-shirt for an extra $2 which sucks. Eithan the track attendant was super cool and deserves a raise. Probably won't come back here because Traxx up north offers a much better experience. read more

Lots of fun with my kids. Several of us celebrated a birthday in a Saturday morning. Staff were friendly and helpful.

We were at the Redmond Washington location tonight and got registered, stood in line, were next in line and someone cut in front of us saying she just had a question. Come to find out she had 18 people with her that were not registered and the staff allowed all of them to cut the line and registered them and allowed them to go. This then caused the wait time to be pushed back 2 hours and we had to leave. We are not happy with the service. If you are going to have rules then everyone should have to follow them. read more

This place is god-awful. Came here with a party of 6 at 12 pm, seemed pretty slow but they couldn't get us in for 3 hours. We weren't gonna complain, despite the $60 a person we paid to go and do it. Come back at 3, whole place is swarmed and the minimal amount of employees seem way overwhelmed by the amount of people there. We all get ready for our race, and go to the track, where the track operator is very clearly distracted and not paying any attention to the track. Here's the part where it gets really bad. I've been to this location before and consistently race decently fast times for the track (at around 19 seconds). The track operator forgot to set my go-kart at the speed equivalent to my previous times, so I spent my first $30 worth of racing crawling around the race track in a kart that was consistently getting passed by those around me. That race ends and I'm understandably pretty upset about the ordeal, which leads to an interaction with the manager who gives me a refund for the race and insists that my speed is going to be upped to the Level 4, which is their highest speed at the track and equivalent to my previous times. Instead, the manager whispers to the track operator, the manager ends his shift and leaves, and the track operator does absolutely NOTHING to fix the issue. We start to race again, and the track operator says a string of offensive comments to me as my kart is pulling out of the bay. I took that in stride as I thought my speed was finally going to be faster than that of a baby crawling, but no. Every lap I take, the track operator gives me a smirk as he flashes the pass flag to let the people behind me pass. I was more pissed after that race, and came out of the track to talk to the manager, but he was gone. Shift must've been over, or dude was looking to not have a conversation with me. 3 of our party had to leave before the second race because the situation had become too stressful and the remaining 3 of us left, $60 a person poorer, and overall extremely disappointed with the petty, lazy behavior of the staff at this location. Don't come if you want an experience worth your money. read more

Spent some time here this weekend with my family in town. The food was okay but the kids loved it. It was a long wait which was a bummer but we played some games and ate food for a bit before leaving and coming back to race. I think next time we'll have to book a time slot or something, the wait was crazy, but some of the staff were really nice and updated the kids every time they'd go ask. read more

When we got there, tons of parking! Checked in, paid, got our head socks and then sat and waited for our name to be called... AN HOUR later, it was super busy and there were tons of kids who weren't there when we first got there being called up for races... multiple laps at that. We decide to get up and ask what's going on... they didn't get us in the system and somehow didn't know we were there waiting... Drove 45 mins to meet my family here and we didn't get to race at all. They lacked sympathy of the situation and were going to have us wait in the line for an additional amount time. We requested a refund immediately even though apparently it's against their policy. Tip: if you're gonna run a business that doesn't do refunds have a better system cause I would've been heated if I didn't get my money back. read more

My daughters worked hard getting great grades in school only to find out the school district would not have a ceremonial graduation for them. So, to lift their spirits and let them know their hard work was not done in vain I decided to take them to take them to K1 Speed at the Seattle, WA location located in Redmond, WA which is the suburb area of Seattle on June 18, 2022 at 9 pm. Needless to say they were happy and I as well. As a father I felt proud when I saw the eagerness in their eyes and the excitement on their faces. It let me know that I did something great for them and when I told them I paid for 2 races for the both of them they couldn't contain their excitement. I made sure to capture every moment K1 Speed was able to provide me on this special day. It was indeed a special moment and a connection of happiness when I helped them put on their head socks and helmets. That happiness even carried on when they hopped in the cars getting ready to drive off. The crew looked professional as well as helpful. Then I noticed how reckless the drivers were on the track. They deliberately crashed their karts into my daughters numerous times just to get ahead to "win". The crew saw this and I will admit they did slow down the karts to prevent the situation from happening again but the drivers didn't care they kept on doing it. When the 1st race was done my oldest said she didn't want to race anymore because of the drivers. Tears were forming in her eyes and she was completely hurt that these reckless adults were acting like juveniles. My youngest however wanted to do the 2nd race. I informed the people at the track that my oldest does not want to race and if I could take her place they said sure no problem. Once the 2nd race started I could see 1st hand what my daughter was not only feeling but also experiencing as well. A woman who was in Kart number 14 crashed into me. The first time I didn't think anything of it. The second time I was getting concerned, the third time it was perfectly clear that her actions were indeed intentional especially when I noticed that she hit me so hard my cellphone flew out of my pocket onto the track. I noticed how she almost hit the pit crew who tried to retrieve my phone just so she can run over it to which she did. The crew did reduce the speed of the karts due to her behavior but they did not I repeat did not remove her from the race for her behavior. During the final lap of the race car no#14 did it again she hit my go kart knocking me into the barrier. After the race was done I could clearly see this woman laughing not showing no signs of compassion or remorse for her actions. I also noticed that this is the norm for K1 Speed Kart to let drivers act reckless and cause danger that can make a person furious enough to fight or cause the victim to be in the hospital. I left the place with my daughter's heart broken, my phone broken, and a vivid image of a white woman laughing hysterically like she was a comedy club. I thought K1 Speed represented a family-orientated atmosphere that would be fun for families but also safe. However I can clearly learned the only thing the K1 organization is truly about is establishing generational wealth for the founders' family. read more

This place was bad like don't go bad. I went with two friends and not only did we wait almost 2 hours for a race but employees got angry when I asked how much longer. Every time Ive been to k1 bout 3-4 times it's either the carts are insanely slow or the employees are borderline threatening people most likely you'll experience both. I cannot emphasize how much you should not go there if you have kids and want to get them on the track try sykart 1000% better and if your older with more experience I highly recommend pgp. I even debated posting this but decided after reading identical experiences from over the years it's clear that management or corporate does not care about you, your time there, or how you are treated. read more

I would give this Negative stars if I could. PLEASE do not give corporate your CREDIT CARD whatever you do. I called them to schedule a celebration party for a group of very deserving and excited young kids. I did not know at the time how many kids would be able to come and asked if I could estimate and call back to adjust numbers before the party. Armando at corporate assured me this would be no problem that they would not run my card for the final amount until after the party and final numbers have been confirmed. They let me know to reserve the only time slot left for that day I would need to pay the deposit right away. So I gave them my credit card information and paid the deposit with their 100% guarantee I would not be charged for the entire amount until after the party and details and numbers were adjusted. This was an absolute NIGHTMARE from start to finish with how UNETHICAL this company handled business. I called 10 times and could not get ANYONE from corporate on the phone to adjust my party numbers. So I stopped into the Redmond location where they very kindly told me they had ZERO ACCESS or ABILITY to change the numbers or any plans that corporate handled EVERYTHING. The day of my party I checked into the only time slot at 9pm where I was told I would have a private room I could decorate and set up in ONLY to be told to wait outside at 9pm as they had a party that had paid to rent the entire space until 9:30pm! They said they could start check in at 9:30pm. WE WAITED UNTIL 10:15PM until they started getting us going. AGAIN, this is kids ages 10-16 years old. They never changed my numbers at corporate so the staff at this location said they made thorough notes and left a message with corporate for me as well. We NEVER got a room, by the time we got the pizza I paid for at 11pm the kids weren't hungry because they filled up on all the desserts I brought as we stood outside waiting for our party that NEVER HAPPENED. $1,2000 THEY CHARGED ME, I called every single day for the last 20 days and have received ZERO RESPONSE, apologies or ANY ATTEMPTS to work this out with me or make it right in any way. I went into the Redmond location and they can not do anything for me as they say corporate handled all bookings. My next step is legal and the Better Business Bureau because THIS IS WRONG. They stole from me and this is the worst business practice I have ever experienced. I feel absolutely horrible my team of kids didn't get the special celebration party I had hoped to throw them that was 2 years late due to Covid! PLEASE take your business elsewhere to a local business that actually cares about their customers and their experience. Don't get me started on how messy the place was, understaffed but overbooked, no follow thru or up from corporate just completely a scam to collect deposits and then run full amounts while avoiding phone calls to cancel or change the booked parties! Last night we went to K1 for the first time. After reading the reviews on Yelp, I went in expecting to wait and encounter unfriendly staff members. And both were so true. We arrived on a Saturday at 2:00 pm and didn't leave until 5:30 pm. For 2 races. We arrived with 5 teenage boys super excited, celebrating a birthday. Registration is fast. Paying was quick. Pricing said $49.95 for 2 races. I paid for two boys, total cost was $131.64. Very expensive, more than I expected, but still excited for the experience. The wait time was 90 minutes. Should be called the "Arrive, wait, wait some more, then drive", not "Arrive and Drive". But since I read this in other reviews, I was expecting it, and it was fine. Boys ordered pizzas and drinks and watched other races while they waited. The first race went awesome! Boys were so excited. My one son said he wanted to have his birthday here in May and my other son kept saying how fun it was. Everything going great. After the first race, you have to wait again for your second race. They don't let you ride back to back. Which is fine. Again, I was expecting to wait. We went to the restaurant to purchase gummy bears. And this is where we encountered rude employee #1. My son said "I'd like to buy some gummy bears". No response. The employee did not acknowledge him whatsoever. My son repeated himself, "I'd like to buy some gummy bears". The employee rudely said "Yeah, I heard you." I almost said something because first, the place is loud as heck. My son had no clue if this guy even heard him and his response was just rude. But we don't need a friend, we just wanted gummy bears. He should get a new job though. Seems miserable working here. Restaurant cash register employee working on 12/10/2022 at 3:43pm. Finally, we're called up for the second race! Boys could hardly wait. One minute into the race, my son was turning a corner and bumped into one car and another car bumped into him at the same time and caused a crash. And here comes rude employee #2. He lost it and pulled both my boys from the race. What? Thankfully I had video of this crash and the more I watch it, the more confused and angry I am. He told my boys that they failed to use his brakes. When I heard them being pulled out, I tried talking to one employee. He said he wasn't sure why they were being taken out. The employee that ejected them came over and I asked him why. He said he could "see it in his eyes that he was doing it on purpose". Doing what on purpose? Not using their brakes? Funny thing, and my video shows it, this happened on the first turn, turning left, away from the start. No way he could see his eyes, as his back was facing the employee. My boys were upset. Their three friends continued their race, and we were left confused. I asked to speak to a manager, who agreed my boys should have been able to race. I asked for a refund, since I paid $131,64, for literally less than 10 minutes of karting and he offered to let them ride again. Thankfully. The employee who pulled them, should also find a new job. He seems miserable and unhappy. There are a few employees who were awesome. The race they were pulled from ended at 4:50. The employee with black curly hair in a ponytail? Awesome. That guy needs a raise. Polite, kind, likes his job. Right after the crash, he went up to my son and asked if he was ok. Once my son was kicked out, and he could see he was upset, he put his hand on his shoulder and said "it's ok". The gal at the cashier desk with large green earrings? Also super kind. The male manager I spoke to? Also, amazing. Respectful, kind and solved our issue. Concessions employee... be kind. No reason to snap and be rude over gummy bears. Wish I would have politely said something. And to the employee who pulled my boys out? Calm down. You know it wasn't intentional. You were just in mood and didn't like having 5 teenage boys on the track. You ruined the experience. Needless to say, we will not be back. read more

My family and i have never been to K1 before. We walked in with no reservation to registered and pay to race. We waited for about 45 mins without being called. My husband checked in with a staff member Josh who said we were not in the system but we had a receipt of payment. Josh was trying to figure out why we were not in the system talking to another staff member. It had got really busy in the time we waited and were not happy that we were being told it would be longer. We asked for a refund and was given our money back. read more

I went here with my son for his first time last week and had an absolute blast. Our first race we struggled a little bit and saw one of the mechanics working on the carts. He was super kind and helpful to my son and I and gave us a bunch of pointers for our next race. it helped so much! I believe his name was Jacob.
