I have always looked this place! I have been coming here now for the last 9 years.. each time I walk in I am greeted with a smile and asked how I am doing! I have always treated my co-worker to a dozen or two of her donuts.. and myself the cheese and ham crescent. If they are not ready I get a muffin and she will toss a few donut balls for the inconvenience. The past few weeks her son has been helping out because momma had some medical issues (she is fine now and her eyesight is almost back) but I had gotten the same great service! Okay, I think this is the donut shop that my friend I used to go too. Anyway, about the donuts...they're donuts are DELISH!..and what I highly recommend getting is the chocolate donut (bar shaped) and ask them to add whipped cream. What they do is they cut the donut in half and fill the donut with whipped cream..OMG!! Love this place! I want to preempt this by saying I grew up in a house in Point Loma with a donut shop in walking distance, and I ate the same donuts for 21 years. Living in spring valley I was nervous about the donut shops but really craved a donut and gave this place a try. I have a new favorite donut! I always struggle in deciding between a pink sprinkle donut or a maple bar/maple rise. They combine the two!!! They have a cake donut with maple frosting and sprinkles and I'm obsessed with it. The only thing that could make this place better is taking cards. I would definitely visit more frequently rather than only when I have cash which isn't often. I'm from up North County, I was down here due to work and stopped to grab a donut. A homeless guy out side asked me if I could buy him a coffe, I gladly said yes. We went in and got my donuts for my workers, coffe and donut for homeless guy. I handed the donut owner my card and she stated only cash!! Unfortunately I was in hurry, but she said take them it's ok get me later! I insisted not to have them at no charge. I'm still going to have to come down and pay her for this! Best donuts ever. I really don't want to write this review because I want to keep this place all to myself but the family and people who work here are so kind I have to let everyone know. The donuts at K-T's are by far the best I've ever had. So much so I told all my friends and family and they are hooked too. The classic glazed is incredibly soft and chewy, covered with glaze, not like those other places where it's just on top, damn near dry. I've tired donuts here I don't typically like such as the old fashioned. It's incredible. Soft and cake like with a crunchy top and delicious chocolate top. I've only gotten donuts here three times and three were during the weekend, so I can only speak about Weekend Donuts. I went last night (Friday) and I got the chocolate glazed and my daughter got the dozen donuts holes. We went again tonight (Saturday) and I got the glazed with cinnamon sprinkle and my daughter got the donut holes again. The donut and the donut holes were warm and fresh and melt-in-your-mouth good. It was around 10:30 pm. It was only $2 both times. The other time I've gone was a Saturday morning after hiking. I got the regular glazed donut. It was also good. If you like simple donut flavors and friendly service, this is your place. :) The guy who helped us was really appreciative when I gave them an extra dollar for a tip. I have tried so many donut shops in San Diego, trying to find the perfect donut. I've gone to all the 4-5 star rated donuts close to my home and church and was never impressed. I've driven by this place numerous times but judged it by its less than perfect little shopping plaza. A massive craving finally brought me here.. and I was pleasantly surprised! The donuts are the best I've had, without a doubt! They are not dry, heavy or overly sweet, but absolutely perfect. The shop is a definite mom and pop hole in the wall. The times I've been there, I have only seen the same little lady working, and she is absolutely the sweetest. She seemed to know everyone that walked in through the door on a personal level.
