The ambience is bizarre, like something from my childhood in the 50s. The parking lot is odd. But oh, the donuts! I particularly love the fritters. The jellys have a lot of jelly. The coffee is good and they made fresh decaf for me on an afternoon visit. If going on 94 headed to 8 or vice versa, exit Spring and stock up on the way. read more

I am not a sweets person but these donuts were SO amazing that my cousin and I came here twice in the SAME day! The glaze donuts are so soft and pillowy and the glaze is not thick or overly sweet. She also gave us a free donut! We also ordered a strawberry banana smoothie and it was so smooth, the bananas were perfect. so sweet that it tasted like honey was added, but it was the sweet bananas! better and more authentic than jamba juice in my opinion. the only reason my review lacks a star is because when we first went, an older woman made our smoothie and it was amazing. when we went back later in the day, it was a younger woman working there and she didnt make our smoothie the same way, using a different recipe. my new staple for sure! read more

The lady who runs this place is the sweetest person you will ever meet, and she loves to ask if you will wait she has fresh donuts coming out... my wife thought I was joking, but when we went the first time we got fresh hot donut holes !!!! The reviews reflect correctly. It's a donut shop, it's nothing to write home about. There is a good selection. Not all of the donuts looked professionally pleasing. The service was average at best. She was on her phone the entire time and it was hard to tell which conversation she was carrying on (to us or to the person she was talking to). Price seemed fair, but I thought it was not cool to not mention a credit card transaction fee. She's is added it on without notice. Had I known, I would have paid cash. I ordered the bacon, egg and cheese croissant and it was gross. The bread felt old and tasted off. There was like 1 slice of thin cheese and the egg was made in the microwave. It was nasty. I don't recommend this place. They don't care. The place looks outdated which normally isn't a problem but it's coupled with a lot of other careless things, you can tell they've just given up. read more

Ok so it's been a year since I started coming here and I'm still loving this place. The sandwiches are still fantastic. Make sure Lin is the one behind the counter though. I've been back several times for the sandwich and there's another lady that works sometimes who makes them completely different and they're just not as good. Lin takes what I assume is a croissant they make there, toasts it up and makes you two fresh eggs to put on top of it. You can get cheese, ham, bacon etc as well. I usually opt for the number four which is ham, bacon and cheese. It's amazing. Highly recommend this place. The donuts, donut holes and other creations are amazing as well. Stop by soon! read more

Donuts are tasty but not restocked as once the major donut shop would make donuts all day. A good product but I miss the old guys that would sit there for hours for refills on coffee and chat. I miss the good ole boys. Also miss the buZz when people ate Donuts I'm the pre Keto days! My fondest memory was pink boxes from heavenly donuts and the pick shops with square glazed donuts. We used to stop at Quality donuts on Market Street near 32nd and a dozen were priced at $2.99 a mixed dozen and the elderly smoking lady with a large mole on her face would smile in her husky voice what may I help you with? Terrible, old guy making the food touched my croissant coming out the oven with his bare hands like he forgot to use the paper napkins because he then touched the crossaint with the paper napkin after he realised I saw him. Gross ! Then was going to charge me $8.50 for an egg croissant ! No gloves , no cleanliness. Avoid !! read more

You really can't go wrong when getting the variety dozen! Spent $36 including tax for two dozen donuts and made an entire office happy. The donuts were large, the fillings tasted fresh, and the service was excellent. The vibe was very typical of a mom and pop donut shop so if that's your vibe you're gonna love it. I'm sorry hut I am so unimpressed. There was no selection except for maybe 3 or 4 options, kinda hard to make a nice dozen. I also ordered the donut holes and I'm sorry but it was so hard, part of it was crunchy! Also, ordered 2 ham and cheese croissants and the lady literally sighed out loud when I asked if she could warm them up for us. I went to buy some donuts this morning, and when I opened the box I found a bite mark on one of the donuts. I do not appreciate having that in any food that I buy. I suggest to the people who run the shop to get their act together and pay more attention to their manners and their personal hygiene, or they will be getting more complaints that will cause them to lose business. read more

I really like this Sunny Donuts location where La Mesa meets the 125 freeway. The donuts are good and the people working very friendly and have great customer service. When they didn't have my chocolate with peanut topping, she went in the back and made me one, who does that! They treat customers right, here. A nice place that deserves your business. read more

I love getting donuts here and dropping them off to clients. The cost is reasonable and items are fresh. I love the Apple fritters. They have that crunchy bite around the corners and cooked just right in the middle. If you like soft apple fritters then this may not be the right place. However, the selection is good. There is a Starbucks right next door if you want more pizzaz to your coffee read more

I was out doing some early grocery shopping on a Sunday morning and decided to pick up donuts for breakfast when my guys woke up and I stopped here. It off to the side near a plaza as a standalone building but there is ample parking available. There was a short line in order to get to the counter but everything was spaced out well so we weren't on top of each other or in each other's way. When it was my turn I was able to quickly order, pay, and head on out. The staff working was so friendly. He was so excited to get a tip and it was so genuine that it made my heart swell. The inside has some counter as well as table seating available so you can enjoy your donut and coffee right there. They also have the ability to warm up some of their treats for you! Run!!! Omg! Worst donuts EVER from a shop! These were like 2days old! They are not even covered from bugs etc! I almost went with my instinct, but I'm mad I didn't. This place is selling stale donuts! It is so gross in there, it feels like an old rundown dirty building. Then after the fact, I read the reviews here! Omg. Such gross stories! And many about how stale they are! Do NOT pay for this crap! Go just down the road to where I usually go, Miss Donuts on Campo Rd and Conrad. Always very fresh! Omg. I feel sick after eating a donut. Best donut shop in the area! They're light and fluffy, and they taste very fresh even as we showed up mid day. I'm not usually a big donut fan, most places I've been to are too dense and taste like they've been sitting around too long. Not the case at Sunny Donuts! The woman at the counter was also very pleasant as we picked out our dozen. Great little location and thankfully close to home to get my donut fix! read more

This bakery has been operating for about three years and there was a good crowd on a Monday afternoon. All the pastries are vegan and I tried the vanilla concha (pro tip get it warmed up) with their house made maple butter and the carrot cake. Both were amazing, I've never had a vegan concha and don't think I'll be going back to regular ones! They also have breakfast sandwiches that many people ordered that looks like it's on a thick piece of focaccia. The reviews speak for itself! I get it every single time im here. I'd also recommend the Mexican iced chocolate latte. It's also strong yet sweetened to perfection. The service here is always good and the employees always greet you. I like to come here to study and just sit outside to take in the morning air. I love the view of cowles mountain as well. Joe Paraiso, the owner, is a very experienced coffee purveyor, and he's been incredibly kind to me, sharing his time and knowledge to make sure I get what I want. And, not for nothing, when I'm at Brew Coffee Spot picking up the beans I ordered online, I always have a coffee. Joe either does a great job of training his baristas, or he's REALLY good at hiring talent, or both. Seriously... his folks make my coffees, usually a cortado or a straight espresso, with a downtown San Francisco or Rome level of competence.

Drove by this place with my wife and decided to stop by since it was early in the morning and needed some coffee. My wife asked for a croissant sandwich which was pictured on the window. The woman there stated she didn't have the stuff needed to make those. Mind you this was around 8 am or so. We settled down at the bar area and ordered two coffees. Mine regular, hers vanilla decaf. The woman reached out and grabbed two nearly empty pots of coffee. And served our coffee, handed my wife some creamer. We ordered some over delicious donuts which we were told were not made at this location. Thank goodness. Looking around this place we noticed how filthy the floors were, as we were taking all this in, a man walked in and talked to the cashier about a container of milk he had just bought from them, he said it was rancid. Even made a comment about how someone else had left their milk outside in the parking lot as well because it was bad. The 'baker' come out from the back and in a sort of hostile way, told the man that they could not do anything about it since they only sell the milk and have no idea if the milk is bad. The customer said, look at the date it, its not supposed to be expired yet. They didn't offer him any refund. Surely $2 in refund is not bad as opposed to losing 3 customers. My wife and I included. Next the woman takes the two coffee pots (orange and black) and pours them to make one nearly empty pot of coffee. I'm sorry, I was just drinking what I thought was decaf! At this point another family walks in and takes a seat. They order regular coffee and she pours them this mix. My wife and I looked at each other and decided we should leave. Neither one finished our coffees. Needless to say we will not be returning. read more

I said I didn't want the old ones and she said well too bad. I said I didn't want nothing and she should stick to doing her job selling donuts not trying to force people to buy old ones! Really delicious donuts and they have a great selection here! The donuts were fresh out of the oven and I even had chance to sample a couple before buying them. They were all very delicious. The dozen will run you about 9 dollars with some change, but that is a pretty good deal compared to others around that don't even make their donuts by hand. I was pleasantly surprised coming here. It is near work so I plan to visit more frequent. read more

It's a hot sweat box with stale donuts, bland coffee, spoiled milk and ants. Rude Asian employees cheat you on the change, and stinking old farts going all potty mouth at the counter. Homeless guys pissing outside in the corner. You're better off going to Yum Yum on El Cajon Blvd near the 99cent store. At least they're air conditioned. read more

Bought a dozen plus four for an extra dollar of assorted, fresh donuts and was particularly surprised and impressed of how tasty they were. Espescially the apple and boston creme donuts. No complaints from any family members. Will defnitely return soon. read more
