We were in the area and wanted to get some donuts. We pulled up, it is in a small business plaza with plenty of parking available. The store and plaza looked like they were stuck in the 70s. BB changed her mind when she saw the outside and decided to stay in the car. I ventured forward and was pleasantly surprised to see that they had my favorite, glazed buttermilk. I got one glazed buttermilk and one maple bar. Total was 3.50 for both, good deal in this day and age when shops charge 4 to 5 dollars for one donut. I ate half the maple bar inside the car, and the other half and glazed buttermilk a couple of hours later at home. Both were delicious. Should definitely not judge a book by it's cover. Would definitely return if we are around again, and may even convince BB to try a donut next time. read more

Very good donuts and they also have egg roll! Don't have them heat the egg roll because I think they heat in a microwave and it makes them soggy. I took mine home and reheated in the air fryer. Room temp they are good too if you cant wait. read more

Unfortunately I don't recommend this place. It's very run down and donuts are tiny. Still we gave it a chance but every donut had a bitter rancid taste like they were cooked in bad old dirty oil that needed to be changed long ago. read more

Purchased half doz for $10 at 5 in the evening. Four of the donuts were no good. went back the next morning at 445 and "The Husband" was there. We have been coming here for years. The way that I was spoken to the last time I was there was not only embarrassing, but incredibly disrespectful and rude. The man working there in the morning I've never been spoken to like that in my whole life. I would never Recommend this donut shop ever. I have been going to Rose Donuts since the 1990's and they have never failed to impress. The donuts are always fresh. They are always perfection. It's a traditional donut place with traditional donuts of all types and they are probably the best in San Diego County. Be sure to get their apple fritter! They even make a smaller fritter since traditional apple fritters are so huge. Oh, and their pricing is still great at a time when prices are skyrocketing. Even better if you can pay cash. Enjoy! I've been coming to this shop for over 8 years to quench my late night munchies.. I love that I can depend on the quality of the sprinkled donuts & chocolate bars that I remember enjoying when I was young. Sugary sweet and delicious!! The couple that own it are incredibly sweet and they provide excellent service every time and sometimes their daughter assists the register, whom is nice. They also have metal benches inside if you want to stop for a morning Joe and enjoy the moment before the day or a sweet treat on the road, it's super comfortable. Highly recommend! read more

Today I needed some great donuts for a broker open house with the East County Board of Realtors. Yelp reviews pointed me toward Rose Donuts... but I noticed many of the reviews mentioned Egg Rolls. When I got there... great selection... nice atmosphere... and very friendly people. In the window I saw a sign for "Hand Made Egg Rolls".... so I asked about them. Gal told me they make their own dough and they were like little cabbage and meat sandwiches. So I got one to go. Donuts were great... would give them a solid four stars... and happily go back. Old Fashion was better than Cinamon Roll to my taste. But.... the Egg Roll.... OMG... fantastic! A little smaller than a piece of toast... about 1"thick and the flavor of the egg noodle dough is rich and they are beautifully fried, but not crispy. Soft and fluffy... great taste... stuffed with meat, cabbage, carrots... what a taste treat! Walk in and the first thing that was I encountered was a horrible smell. Place was pretty old , dirty and the smell was DISGUSTING. This is probably my favorite donut spot. I came here the 1st time because of reviews and it did not disappoint. The first few times my purchases consisted solely of donuts (glaze round & maple bar) and they were great. The price is in-line with, if not cheaper than, surrounding donut stores. I noticed they sell a ham & cheese croissant and they always look to be a good size for the price ~$3-3.50. The staff are always friendly and inviting. That is a big perk when I make a choice of where I will spend my money & purchase goods/services. When I went in earlier this week a window had heen broken and was boarded up. It's a a shame that people can't be respectful & had to do this to the owners. Despite the issues on hand, the staff maintained their friendliness & pushed forward.
