I'm blown away by the value and quality! You can get a ham torta for $4.40 here! They have multiple sandwiches for $5. And these things aren't small!! I wish I'd taken a picture but we all dug in too fast. We got a pierna, a carnitas, and a huevos Mexicano. Each one was absolutely delicious. I did take a picture of their beautiful bakery case loaded with gorgeous conchas, cakes, and pastries. I'll definitely be snagging some of those on my next visit. Lots of flies inside the pan dulce cabinets. Such a shame. Can't come back until they fix this. I saw the flies and walked right out.

Called at 5 am to order and be ready by the time i get there. I got there at 5:20 and they weren't ready yet. Order the chorizo torta and it took another 20 minutes. Took 6 of them for the shop and surprised when we opened our tortas. We only got ham and beans. Came here looking for some tasty desserts. immediately after walking in, the cases had a bunch of flies in them. I couldn't stomach looking around any further. My favorite tamales are the Chile/cheese. However, the new owners use jalapeño Chiles which are much hotter.

I really hate to write this but I feel that the owner should read it. +1 star: I went a few days ago and placed an order. Customer service was quick and friendly, and since I don't speak Spanish, the girl behind the counter was super sweet and explained everything to me. +1 star: I placed a to-go order over the phone for 2 tortas. They were fresh and good, and made to go. Meat and bread were filling. +1 star. -2 stars: I also purchased a few sweets from the case. There were flies everywhere, and most of the goods seemed untouched and plentiful. It seems like the flies made it so unappetizing to customers that nobody bothered to buy any, and overall it felt unhygienic. The flies were mostly near items that contained jam or frosting. -1 star: There's a refrigerated case next to the other case. I took a small pastry from it. When I came home and took a bite, I noticed it was moldy. I think most of the pastries are old and past expiration, because it did not taste fresh. I sincerely wanted to like this place because it's so close to my home and I love supporting small businesses. I did read reviews prior to coming and many warned against flies flying around the baked goods case and mold - I figured, ehh, that probably was an off day, right? Nah. What I love about this place is that not only are the ladies who work here totally friendly, but they sure do make a mean torta, not to mention the variety of great Mexican baked goods they offer or pan dulce. I ordered the Milanesa Torta, which is a thick steak, lightly breaded then fried. The torta is served with sliced avocado, Oaxaca cheese, white onions, and a chipotle aioli served on a toasted sesame torta roll for only about $5. The torta was delicious, especially the milanesa inside. It was crusty, well seasoned, and the beef inside was tender. The combination with the semi melted cheese and the aioli, it was quite the treat to eat. I always appreciated freshly sliced avocado over the mashed variety, and I though the torta roll was great. It was toasted just right which brought out the flavor of the sesame seeds on top and it was moist. It held up well as well. It was a great torta and a great deal as well. read more

I've been coming here for years and it sucks to say but they're racist and discriminate people by their appearances. My grandma was the recently and they thought she was stealing so the whole time a woman was standing behind her while she chose what pastry she was going to buy. This was my first trip to Lucy's and I am so glad I found them, it was actually another yelper that pointed me to this location. The food was really good, and I ate right there in the little shop. She made my deli sandwich on the spot, and to order! I also had a sweet bread, I could eat those all day long. I saw several people come and go just for the breads and donuts. Foul. I was hoping to find a local option for pan dulce instead of making the hike to Panchitas in Logan Heights. (I am loyal to great finds). But this place was so disappointing. My wife and I were meeting up with a friend after we had gone through the nearby swap meet and based on Yelp reviews we settled on Lucy's. Glad we did. The selection of donuts, pastries, and pan dulce was terrific. The price of their tortas and other sandwiches were very reasonable. They offer fountain drinks and have a couple of small coolers with other drink options. Was able to gt a nice cold Powerade to go with my sandwich with everything on it. Love the homemade sandwich. Fresh jalapenos, meat, a great sauce, and really good guacamole. The workers were very polite and friendly. Pan was fresh and the nice gentleman helped me out with my goodies when they noticed I had my hands full with a baby carrier & kiddos. This bakery is great. I like the selection of pastries that reminded me of my childhood when I would go to my grandmothers home. Everything looked freshly baked, a nice selection and they had some tortas and other hot items to offer. I can't wait to come back and try more, more, more!!!! No recomiendo este lugar! Por segundo año consecutivo las rosca que compro en este establecimiento, no lleva monitos. Cuando llamé para pedir que me compensaran por esta situación ya que pagué más de $60 dólares por la rosca grande. Solo me ofrecieron un crédito de $5 ( lo cual es el costo de lo monitos) o una rosca chica (aceptado por la dueña) Es una pena que no entidad el daño que causan por fallar a la tradición! The only reason im giving 2 stars is because the tortas are always good but the customer service sucks. Im trying to order tortas to go and the lady from the back is yelling at us to ask what we want and i said i want to order tortas and she's like what do you want and then i said no you need to come take my order and then come to the register with an attitude and as im leaving they come behind me to see if my kids hadn't taken something and waiting for me to walk out that is very discriminating to me. I paid for bread and torta. Sad to have this horrible experience this was my go to place. But they can't even say thank you or greet there customers politely. read more
