Solid bakery! Maybe I came too late in the day but it didn't feel as fresh? I ordered: * bacon egg empanada * almond croissant * blueberry scone They tasted good, but I wish they were flakier/more buttery. I'd try them again, prob earlier in the day to see if they'd be fresher but only if I was already in the area. read more

They items we bought were very good but we actually were looking for baguettes and they don't make them yet for the public. Selection was limited. read more

I came a bit late so they didn't have theirs full selection available (sold out). It was hard to find the place - I circled around several times before parking. The reason I found them was because they had a sign on the side walk promoting coffee drinks, which made me think "hmm this might be the bakery" I would recommend for them to get a visual sign on their store so that folks can find them. Service was quick and friendly. Ambiance was very much a "to-go" spot. I don't recall seeing much seating. That' was fine by me since I was planning on getting some pastries to take home anyways. read more

I highly recommend Bagatelle Jaime and his family for anyone in the area looking for high-quality baked goods. We have been getting their empanadas and danishes for at least four years now, and the quality has been incredibly consistent every single time. They are a fantastic vendor to work with, always reliable, and their delivery is consistently on time. If you run a local cafe and are looking for delicious, reliable, and high-quality empanadas to serve your customers, you should definitely give them a try!" read more

It's been over a year since I tried this place and I come by regularly. They sell my favorite chocolate muffins! I've also had their meat empanadas and they are so so good! I really love how lovely the owner/lady at the register is! It makes my morning to stop by her bakery for bread in the morning. I wish all coffee shops/bakeries were as friendly! read more

Searched high and low for this place off campo and never found it's not sure it is still opened. If it is- terrible signs or even an address on a door. read more

A small shop in the strip mall that makes good and affordable pastries and baked goods. Great service, answered any questions I had without any issue. Their empanadas and scones are absolutely delicious. Having an empanada wrapped in delicious puff pastry is a home run! I got the soyrizo empanada and it was A+, I plan on going through the rest of their offerings in the coming weeks. read more

Here is no bakery here. Went at 7am and nothing here. What a waste of time. This needs to be closed or something where it doesn't show as opened. read more

When people talk about hole in the wall places, they are talking about businesses like bagtelle French bakery. This place is tiny but oh my - they have the best pastries in San diego. Not a contest, they are the best. They may be the best in California. Yes they are that good. Whenever we have an office pot luck I go to Bagtell for an assortment and they make me the most popular employee in the office. The coffee cake, scones, brownies, and Danish pastries are the best I have ever had! I give them 10 stars out of 5. They also have empanadas, muffins, quiche, and breakfast croissants. While these are good they probably rate 4 of 5 stars. The owners are as nice as can be. I love to see hard working Americans taking a craft that they have profected to market so that we can all enjoy a better product. THANKS Bagtelle. read more

The apple pastry I got was delicious! So was the soyrizo empanada I got. My daughter loved it. The woman working was very nice. It's a cute little place with some seating. The spinach and cheese croissant had a little too much spinach for me but it was still tasty! read more

Great people! Small batch of goodies to choose from but the items they have are of great qualify. Super yum! Parkings awful but worth it for sure! Support local, shop small business owners. read more

Found this little gem when leaving the strip mall. They had delicious pastries and fresh bread to enjoy.

This may seem like a little hole in the wall but let me tell you, it's the best kept secret! The pastries are so fresh and they always give me a great deal when catering! Love the coffee cake , monkey bread, chocolate and almond croissants . Yum! read more

Don't order delivery from this bakery. They do not fulfill their Uber Eats orders. It takes 3-10 days for the refund to show up in your bank account. Not worth the hassle. A responsible business would turn off online ordering for delivery rather than continuing to take orders they cannot fulfill. read more

I've been waiting for this bakery to actually open forever! It was really worth the wait. They also have gluten free pastries .... and they are delicious. Great breakfast and lunch stuffed croissants to die for. Give them a try. You won't regret it. read more

The food is amazing and lots of variety . Super friendly staff. Great coffee and cheaper than the big chain.

I give him 4 1/2 stars. We got to to the owner/baker. He worked at Living Room which we would visit many times in our younger years about 30 years ago when we moved to San Diego. First don't missed this place as we almost did. The sign is hidden they have everything from lemon bar to Monkey bread. We got savory empanadas but also croissants. If you do we do love small hole in wall place, this for sure is worth a visit. read more

We LOVE Jaime and his staff and French pastries! The Empanadas have replaced our former breakfast burrito habit! His baked goods are trike special- he offers unique choices... with the tried and true always available, but a little something different everyday! We love the monkey bread muffin, and my favorite is the Caprese Empanada. If you work for a non profit and need to cater a continental breakfast, you will find Jaime to be generous! read more

Bagatelle French Bakery - The AMAZING almond croissant from Bagatelle! - Bakeries Near Me - Spring Valley, California

This place has been here forever but is finally open to the public. Jaime assisted me and was telling me the story of this location. Apparently it's been here for 17 years and they deliver to local coffee shops. I'm so excited to finally be able to walk in here and pick up some delicious treats. I encourage everyone to try it. read more

I LOVE stopping here , their chocolate and almond croissants are yummy! My son loves the bear claws. Gotta get there early...

We were in town looking for something for breakfast! Amazed at the assortment of savory and sweet treats. I landed in a chocolate cream filled eclair and hubby a cranberry scone. Both did not disappoint. Flavorful, tasty, large portions, reasonably priced, great customer service. read more

I found a little bakery in Spring Valley in a strip mall in Casa de Oro. I happened to be driving by and I spotted a little place and being close to my mother's I figure I would check it out to see if it would be a good place to stop and pick up goods for her in the future. The place is small but it had a nice variety of pastries. They also make fresh bagels and white and wheat baguettes. After chatting it up with one of the family members about the bakery, I purchased an almond croissant with powdered sugar, some coffee cake, and a giant chocolate cookie. The croissant was amazing, I am telling you, this is going to be bad, very bad having this place so close and convenient. I predict I will be adding a few more pounds. Back to the croissant: it was fluffy and inside the texture was sort of chewing in a really good way. The almonds where ever so present and the powdered sugar simply took it over the top. The chocolate chip cookies was very good as well. Any child or child at heart will love this cookie. I have not tried the coffee cake yet because I am full, but tomorrow I will! On my next visit I will purchase some baguettes with some more croissants of course. read more

Everything here is absolutely amazing! The service here is super nice, and I have very nice conversations with the owner. They have an amazing variety of pastries, and the Empanadas are so delicious. My favorite is the plain croissant, it feels like it's baked freshly as soon as I receive it. The prices here are so convenient too for how good the food and portions are. There's something magical about small businesses, but overall, there's nothing in this place that isn't spectacular. read more

Dropped in on a whim, but this is exactly what makes Yelp great, because as many times as I've driven by I would have never known this bakery existed. The owner was hustling and bustling preparing orders for what I can only assume is the daily supply for other bakeries and cafes. The reason I dropped in was to try the chocolate croissant; and let me say *chef kiss* le magnifique! Time is the enemy of any pastry, but croissants in particular lose their soft centers and the crunchy exterior turns hard and almost rubbery... But coming from the source the freshness on this croissant made it almost the perfect bite... So fresh even the chocolate inside was still soft and gooey! I'm thinking this is going to be a craveable force to be reckoned with that I'll be coming back for.... But the real winner of the day was the quiche. I had a ham and bacon quiche served in an individual sized pie tin with a wonderfully buttery and flaky crust; soft, airy and creamy egg center with herbs and big chunks of salty bacon and ham... Filling, delicious, and I will be back for more! The place may not look like much, as they aren't really set up to cater to walk in traffic, and certainly aren't a curated space with fancy coffee machines or wifi but the pastries they serve are exceptional. Next time you're in charge of the office donut run, come by and pick up pastries from here instead... But be prepared- Your co-workers might just carry you out of the building on their shoulders chanting your name... I can't wait to go back and try the bear claws and danishes they had available.
