Twist and some In-N-Out whole milk.

Super tasty donuts and very friendly owner/counter person. Plump, fluffy, and perfect amount of glaze, these were as tasty as any twist, old fashion, or glazed donuts I could have purchased in the better Portland, Oregon places. See the picture I provided. Clean inside, although outside it doesn't look like much. It's worth your time and not expensive. Top notch donuts at the right price!

It's the back of the counter that had me second guessing the cleaning and the many containers .

What is one thing that it is hot and warm and the golden-brown look of the outer crust the sweet taste of the of the cakes that cook in the golden oil that turns the cake and the many flavors of dough cooking and baking them to be frosted and glazed them. When you come to a place that has the feel of the 1960s yet when you know that the doughnut has been around for many centuries and to have the golden brown or the golden crullers in the morning with the coffee that is on your mind. When I had arrived at Sunny Doughnuts it was a day that I had just got paid on the first part of the month and wanted to try the doughnuts of Sunnys the location has been one place that has been busy and the many stores nearby. I had gone inside the store and saw they had only three people and looked at what they had seeing two ladies talking at the coffee bar inside that had the many ingredients of the mixed drinks. I got the front cashier and looked at the selection I had asked," Do you have orange frosting doughnuts?". She told me that they don't make them, and they had run out of the frosting I took as a way that they only serve certain doughnuts not too many in regular doughnuts. I ordered for Buttermilk bar and the Chocolate Old Fashioned and the Choclate Nut doughnut which had to be the softest doughnuts and the flavor of the Buttermilk Bar was thick in taste had that taste that matches the Buttermilk bar doughnut. The many selections they have were of the large fritters with the many doughnuts they make and the many filled doughnuts they have. Sunny Doughnuts is one location that has the makings of the many doughnut locations and the menu they have having the making of sandwiches yet with the issues of a sandwich area that shows a dirty cutting area and with a warm place there was no clean back area. As a Yelp Elite reviewer from the many bakeries that has the many creations yet when you see a place that has a clean atmosphere and when you come across a place that is dirty it is something that makes me think things that are not kept clean. with the flavors of doughnut's that are from the 50s 60s and the 80s yet the best flavors .

My coworker said that the donuts from here are his favorite, so I was excited to try them. I always go for the chocolate ones, so I grabbed a chocolate twist. The donuts were pretty average, nothing special. I felt that the one I got was not as fluffy as I usually like, so I was a little disappointed since Sunny's seems like a pretty popular place around this area.

This is your typical donuts shop around the corner. Simple and easy to grab. Service was welcoming and the place has it's options to sit and enjoy your coffee too.

If your seeking the donut then sure this place is smack dab in the middle. They are not going to put the donuts on a black towel with white gloves and they are not going to sale you day old donuts. They had more of the kids style donuts encrusted with Captain crunch, super huge, purple chocolate. Very fun. My fav was the cinnamon crumble crunch. They have a little eating area and the ladies there are fun nice and don't mind getting the donuts for you. The only down side is they put them in a bag too many in a bag is not good. I think there should be a donut degree that 3 or more should be put in a box or Container. At the 12 mark your going to pay around .90-1.10 per item. If you just want good tasting and the whole buying experience is not important to you. Then this place is the best so far in the area. They do take cards and they are open 24/7

My favorite shop to go to. The ladies in there are always so sweet and welcoming. The breakfast sandwiches are SO good. Donuts are always good. 18 for the dozen.

She was too rude and annoyed me. When I asked a bag, she throwed away in front of me. I never go again.

Open 24 hours.. Nothing fancy, your typical old school donut shop serving traditional donuts. Their filled donut holes are pretty good. The filling is thick so it doesn't go everywhere. Dusted with powdered sugar.. a nice bit of sweetness. Hubby also picked up a box of mixed donuts. Nothing too spectacular. The chocolate glazed donut I tasted was a bit on the dry side.

I've always seen this place en route traveling throughout National City using Highland Avenue, and I'm surprised it took me this long to finally try it (unless I have long ago as a child and I don't remember). Finally made the trip, as I had stumbled upon a review that mentioned they carry boba/tapioca pearl drinks and wondered if they really did carry it. Arrived on a not too busy afternoon, to a wide selection of donuts to choose from, and then I saw the sign with the drinks (and sandwiches). Yep. Boba! Now, it was pretty interesting to see a donut shop in National City serving boba as well, as just down the street you already have 3-4 places offering it (with SD Boba Cafe and TapEx specializing in it). While it took me a while to decide which drink to get (from the Strawberry Banana, to Thai Iced Tea, to Blueberry Banana and to Mocha) plus a donut (since most boxed dozens I've been offered this past year have never included my favorite), I ended up choosing a Thai Iced Tea Smoothie with Boba (one size only - large) plus a lemon filled donut (their last one!). Total ended up being around $6 and some change, so it was nice to be able to use a card. The lady helping me was really nice, and she said the Thai Iced Tea was just freshly made (to which she pointed to her almost empty smoothie cup) so it was a good choice on my end. Didn't take too long, and it ended up tasting really good. It was a bit too much for me (large sized and all) in the end, as I kept getting a brain freeze, but the donut was really delicious (and a little larger than most donut sizes) with lots of lemon filling. Overall, I enjoyed my trip and the food, and I wouldn't mind dropping by here again. Plus, it was worth trying their boba drinks finally!

Sweet and affordable donuts in the city! They also make delicious ham and cheese croissants. Quick service and convenient if you're in a rush.

I like donut, but unfortunately donuts do not like me because they have a tendency to add to my waist line. Sunny donuts around town has been making good donuts for a long time now. At this location I had a twist covered in chocolate for .75 cents. (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/sunny-donuts-national-city?select=ao2k4NUQGPcbNNLjNTpfCQ#6A7LXgL41t01mRBNmHR8sg) The donut was pretty good. I like the way the exterior chocolate sauce creates a nice crust. The inside was pretty moist, but a little on the bread side rather than that nice chewy doughy consistency. (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/sunny-donuts-national-city?select=ao2k4NUQGPcbNNLjNTpfCQ#P7d6ctPEjNaP6m_I_THHCw) But decent nevertheless. I good donut over all. They make a significant variety of donuts here that there should be at least for everyones' liking. (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/sunny-donuts-national-city?select=ao2k4NUQGPcbNNLjNTpfCQ#Jx3QOuES9RdN2PoFiEwnDg) The ladies who were working here nice and had a good sense of humor.

    14 donuts for $12ish!

That was a surprise as well. I get there right after 6AM and wasn't sure if they opened yet and sure enough they opened on time. Always a good sign. This plaza is dead before 10 AM so you will always find decent parking in the morning. I parked right up front. The young lady was very nice and welcomed me as I got inside. I knew what I wanted right away as I always see the $7 breakfast special sign when I am getting my tacos. You get a ham and cheese croissant and two donut holes or Munchkins if you're from New England, And a small coffee. I was in and out within a few mins. The place was very clean and of course has that fresh donut smell. I get home and try the coffee, I'm just so used to McDonald coffee and DD coffee that this was an acceptable 6 out of 10. I gave my wife the donut holes and she liked them and said they were very fresh. The ham/cheese croissant was out of this world. A perfect 10/10. Tasted like it was just made. And since I was the first customer that's probably true lol. It was like a French fiesta in my mouth. It was soft and flaky and the inside was cheesy and delicious. This made the meal!! I will definitely be back!

They sell their señorita bread in multiples of 5, and the price scales proportionally. They also have some packaged breads at the checkout counter and a display case with donuts and malasadas. I got 5 señorita breads for $4, and a guava malasada. When I was handed my bag of goods, the señorita breads were still warm! I've never had this type of bread before so I have no comparison. However, the fat, cigar-shaped breads were really satisfying while hot and fresh. They are buttery, sugary, and chewy inside. The texture was a bit homogenous for me, but still quite tasty. I had a second one hours later and it was not as nice. I think they would definitely benefit from a reheat if you have leftovers. The guava malasada was not my favorite. The jam inside was more musty than fragrant, and very artificially red. The dough itself was well-fried and soft, even fresh out of the refrigerator on the second day. I love the textural difference of the sugar crystals on the surface, compared to a traditional donut glaze. I ended up scooping the guava filling out of the middle and eating the fried bread. Overall, while I enjoyed the señorita breads, Chula Vista is a bit of a trek and I would not go out of my way to get them. I am interested in trying Starbread in the Bay, to see if they taste different.
