This was my first visit to this location, around 11:55 a.m. I ordered a half dozen assorted donuts. Since the employee was pulling the donuts from the back instead of the display case, she asked me to call out my order as she packed the box. I ordered one glazed twist and one chocolate twist, but I didn't open the box until I got home and realized I had been given two chocolate twists instead. I also noticed the Long John had a noticeable thumb indentation in the icing, and the red velvet donut was about one-third smaller than the ones that were on display. It was my mistake for not checking the box before leaving, but it was too far of a drive to go back. One suggestion I would make is to leave the box open until the customer has a chance to verify the order before it's closed. That could help prevent simple mistakes like this. Overall, the donuts tasted good, but paying a little more attention to order accuracy and presentation would make for a much better first impression. read more

The first time I came here I was at the taco shop connected to the shop. While waiting I went and bought two doughnuts for my hubby and son. The lady that ran the shop gave me 4 more on the house cause they were closing up. She was so sweet. Just like those doughnuts. I knew when I had an event I'd be buying a bunch here to support her shop. So for my son's birthday he wanted droughts instead of cake. I ordered 2 dozen rainbow doughnuts. 5pm tuesday RANDYS DONUTS in BONITA I Wanted to pick up some mini donuts for the kids. I looked at the doughnuts behind the glass case and there were about a dozen flies AND fruit flies just perched and tap dancing all over the donuts. I brought it up to the employee, a chick with light colored eyes, She said her name was" Maria". I asked "Maria" if she saw the flies and she said yes. I asked her if she was still going to give me the donuts with the flies on them and she said yes. I asked her if i could have new one and she said they didn't have any. 1am completely grossed out after seeing all the fruit flies flying around the donuts. The employee didn't give a rats ass and she was confused and almost shocked when i told her the donuts have flies all over them and that i wasn't going to buy them. The only thing she said was "I'Il close the door. (to repel the flies). Your donuts are awesome. Why do they have to come with flies though!!!, Take more pride in your business. I love the taco shop next store and was sad to see the ice cream place go. But this was a very welcomed edition to the plaza. Especially now that Starbucks is gone. That was a surprise as well. I get there right after 6AM and wasn't sure if they opened yet and sure enough they opened on time. Always a good sign. This plaza is dead before 10 AM so you will always find decent parking in the morning. I parked right up front. The young lady was very nice and welcomed me as I got inside. I knew what I wanted right away as I always see the $7 breakfast special sign when I am getting my tacos. You get a ham and cheese croissant and two donut holes or Munchkins if you're from New England, And a small coffee. I was in and out within a few mins. The place was very clean and of course has that fresh donut smell. I get home and try the coffee, I'm just so used to McDonald coffee and DD coffee that this was an acceptable 6 out of 10. I gave my wife the donut holes and she liked them and said they were very fresh. The ham/cheese croissant was out of this world. A perfect 10/10. Tasted like it was just made. And since I was the first customer that's probably true lol. It was like a French fiesta in my mouth. It was soft and flaky and the inside was cheesy and delicious. This made the meal!! Very welcoming staff . Not sure if they are open every day but there Hours are 6- 9 pm . I stopped by around 4 pm . Probably best to stop by earlier to have a better selection. I got the raspberry jelly donut and they don't skimp out on the filling . The donuts are soft and fluffy . The maple bacon donut also doesn't skimp on the bacon . We ended up going with the chocolate buttermilk bar and the butter crumb raised... both were absolutely delicious. They were fresh, moist, and full of flavor. I especially loved that the chocolate on the buttermilk bar wasn't waxy like you often find at other places. The shop itself was very clean, and the selection was impressive. This is my first time coming to Randy's and I've got to say I am not disappointed at all. I honestly wish that I didn't like it as much as I do because now I just gave my back another reason to be BIG. I've been to this location a few times. It's a Franchise of the original one from LA. The staff is friendly and professional and place is always presented in a clean manner. The donuts are to die for...so yummy. I believe the taco shop next door might own this location. The only negative I see is the parking, which can be challenging. So it's best to go in the morning. Also, the donuts are pricey and they don't throw in any free donuts like if you get a dozen or more. I've had other donut shops throw in a donut if you get over a dozen. It just so happened we were in the neighborhood and we decided to stop in before heading back to home. Conveniently located right off the freeway and right before the on ramp. The shopping center is very deceiving. It doesn't look like a lot of parking but there's a lot spaces in the back lot. The spot are tiny but luckily it was not very busy on a Friday night around 6pm. As we walked in, we were greeted by 2 young ladies. There was a steady flow of customers coming and going. We didn't know what to get so we opted for a dozen assorted. However the donuts were divided into 4 different types of donuts where you have classic, deluxe, fancy, and premium. We got the Mix 4 which is $33 that includes 3 classic, 3 deluxe, 3 fancy, and 3 premiums. A lot of the donuts were already sold out, but that didn't stop us from choosing from whatever is left. My kids got a variety of donuts, my husband chose a couple, and I chose the remaining. I do not think a dozen is worth the $33, but it is good to check them out once since they are here. I do recommend nuking the donuts for a few seconds so that you can taste the moistness and flavors of a fresh donut. The ladies were patient and nice and even gave us a free donut with our order. Hear me out. I was really not expecting much from Randy's Donuts. I've never been to the original and I thought, it's just an iconic logo used in movies like Iron Man. I was so wrong. My brother in law picked up some donuts from their Bonita location and it totally proved me wrong. Huge fluffy donuts with delicious toppings. It easily made my top 3 donut spots ever! Tried it for the first time at their Miramar location and was really good. Their maple bacon is LOADED with bacon so I was very excited to hear that they're opening one in Chula Vista. Tried to be the first ten customers in line for free donuts all year but that didn't work out. I can't believe I've waited this long to try Randy's donuts. The donut chain has been around for 72 years! The choices are endless. From small, medium to huge-for-no-reason sized donuts. They have something for everyone. My family and I decided to buy our go-to's which includes; apple fritter, chocolate bar with cream filling, minis and a blueberry donut with icing. All of them were absolutely delicious. The portions are so big. We have leftovers for tomorrow! There was only one employee working. He was friendly and on top of his game. Randy is in the house! In Chula Vista, that is. I stopped in for a couple of my favorites. I picked up to go the cinnamon sugar and the old-fashioned lemon doughnut. Both doughtnuts were good. The cinnamon and sugar were slightly crumbly on the outside packed with flavor, and the inside was nice and soft. The old fashion offered that good lemon flavor that I love so much. Not only did the icing have lemon in it, but the inside of the doughnut, too. I liked it very much. This location is smaller than the other location in San Diego on Murphy Canyon. 03-26-25: Went here a couple weeks ago on a Monday. It looked like it was closed around 9:30am but it wasn't. Always check! We tried the Butter Crumb Raised, Chocolate Crondy and Nutella Raised. They were all yummy! Butter Crumb Raised's texture melts in your mouth and it wasn't that sweet. The Chocolate Crondy is a cross between a croissant and a donut..the donut is like a flattened croissant. This is on the sweeter side but still good. I visit this location every Thursday to pick up donuts for my work. The manager here is amazing, I really appreciate her customer service, though I don't always get to see her each week. This morning, I placed my usual mobile order: a dozen classic donuts and a dozen donut holes. The donut holes were handed to me in a paper bag instead of being placed in the box with the other donuts like they normally are. I also ordered a large iced coffee with cold foam, and I was charged $6.89. However, I received a small cup with no cold foam. When I kindly asked for a large cup, the young employee simply handed it to me without acknowledging the mistake or offering to fix the coffee. I understand the crew is young, but consistent and friendly customer service goes a long way, especially in today's economy. Unfortunately, customer service here can really be hit or miss, which is disappointing. I used to go to Yum Yum Donuts on E Street, but decided to switch it up. Yum delicious donuts! I have been to other locations as well as the first location up in LA. Donuts are always consistent. Today I tried two donuts a churro one and a matcha. This spot is smaller than other locations but has a lot of variety. The matcha one I got was ok it just tasted like a regular frosted donut. Which was kind of disappointing. It was still good but I needed more matcha. The churros one however was so good. I forgot to take a photo of it. It was maple cinnamon glazed with 4 churro bites on top. So good and unique. Service was nice. It is located and connected to the ice cream and taco place next to it. Ambiance is nice there's a small bench but not much to sit at or a table.
