In town for business and didn't realize a K-Bob's was here. It has been at least 25 years since the last time I visited a K-Bob's. I was not disappointed with the trip to the salad bar in the wagon or my selection of steak. Service was quick and pleasant with my server checking on me numerous times. My wife and I took advantage of their Valentine's Day menu and our experience was great. The steak had a wonderful sear and was flavorful. The baked potato was well-cooked, the fried shrimp were plump and tasty. Of course K-Bob's Steakhouses are known for their Salad Wagon. The items on the wagon were fresh and there was a lot to choose from. The restaurant was full on a busy Friday night and a member of the management team still had time to stop by and visit with us. We arrived in Clovis three nights ago and tried this restaurant out on a Friday night. We enjoyed the food, and service. We both had steaks and different sides and they were delicious. I had the Tres Combo which is a serving of chicken queso sandwiches, french fried onion rings and hot chicken wings. I also had side order of fried okras. Everything was delicious and on point . They also served up some complimentary bread rolls freshly baked and homemade cinnamon butter which was pretty decent. How could I forget the live music and the very interactive musicians. This place can be hit or miss but one thing that is always on point is the delicious cold beers served in the bar area. I've dined in the restaurant a few time and think I only had one good service. Now when if I decide to go I only go to the bar where they are consistently serving up delicious cold beers, the bartender is usually open to have a cool, down to earth conversation or make you feel comfortable. I hate to put this out there because I don't want to lose the availability of space do to being over crowded but I truly believe I've got way better food and drink service at the bar then in the restaurant area. The food is never the same. It's a hit or miss. One time you go in the steaks are flavorful and cooked correctly and you go back a few days later and the food takes forever to get out and when it does it's tasteless or blackened instead of cooked to medium. The drinks from the bar are so watered down and when taken back they all (employees and bartender) have to try it to confirm what they were told was truly wrong with it. Then you have a waitress who forgets to put in your full order and never comes back to the table to ask if everything is good so you can tell her your missing some sides and you can't stop another waitress cause they all seem to fall in a hole and don't come out until your ready to pay. So sad that you have the only steakhouse in town and can't even serve up a good steak. People are looking forward the Texas Roadhouse coming to Clovis but unfortunately if they too don't have a good cook it won't matter. Guess I'll continue going to Lubbock every weekend to have a good steak a delicious drink and wonderful service!! My husband ordered a steak, rare with mushrooms. It came back burnt. Not "well done", but this thing was burned as well as the mushrooms on it. The sides he ordered were also incorrect. His food came out this way after the rest of our party that consisted of 5 people had been served and were almost done eating. He sent it back. It was redone except this time, it came out frozen in the center. The sides had been microwaved. We could hear the manager yelling at people in the back. Waitresses were crying. It was a shame because it had been an iconic hometown place when I was growing up. I have not lived there or been to the K-Bobs since 1990. One server said she would get us rolls on arrival and then forgot about it. We were so hungry we had to walk to the back to find someone to get us rolls. Refills never happened. They also rushed to take our plates without asking whether we were done. They have a decent sized events room for large groups (think 40 people).
