The hostess told a server out of our line of vision that we'd be in their section, sat us in a booth, gave us menus and left. Seven minutes we sat there. No drink order taken, no appetizer order taken, no server ever seen. You get one chance to make every new customer a returning customer. This place failed completely. Our server was very attentive. We had the Charbroiled Sirloin with mushrooms, onions and brown gravy. It was very tender and good. We also had the salad bar which had a nice selection, including fresh hatched green chilis. Rolls were fresh. Tea was a little old but ok. Overall the hour drive to go to a K-Bobs was well worth it. I like eating at a bar, but the room smelled of bleach from the mop bucket that rested by the door, so I opted for the dining room where it took a while to be noticed and seated. I dont like butchering beef after it has been served, but I spent a couple minutes sawing the edges of this steak away. Still, there was connective tissue throughout the steak. Must be USDA grade Select or lower. Ugh. Great rolls, though. Something else:. I was billed twice for this meal, one the day of service for my in-person transaction and the other the next day for an Online, Mail or Telephone transaction. We happened on this place coming from Texas. The atmosphere is very homey and I appreciated the feeling of community with the decor (photos of local sport and rodeo teams) and the presence of the locals. The food was delicious! The salad bar has a wide variety of fresh options with 8 different types of salad dressings. I had the pot roast which brings me back to the Sunday dinners of my childhood. The menu includes a variety of steaks and comfort foods. I'll definitely be returning the next time I find myself in Clovis! read more

I wish I had a better review for K-Bob's than I am going to post. I should have taken notice of the parking lot as an omen of the evening to come. The service was slow. They put us in a back corner and seemed like they forgot about us. Once we finally got the food, they forgot one person's entree all together. The steak that was ordered well done would have needed 5 minutes more to be medium. This is the second time they have failed me and my family, I won't be back. read more

Our waitress had a bit of an attitude as if she didn't want to be serving us. She was more worried about being social with her coworkers than attending to us. And to top it off the food was mediocre. Presentation was definitely shit. For this place to be as hyped up as it is, it doesn't live up to its expectations. Definitely Will not be returning. read more

Can I rate less than one star? This is our second time dining there. The first experience last a couple hours though we wanted to be in and out quick, but we thought perhaps because it was its first week open the wait staff just needed to get used to the system. Despite that we came back 4 months later now and it's worse than before. Walk in an there's no hostess to seat us. After about 2 min she emerges from he kitchen and greets us from about 30 ft away like she wasn't so excited people were coming in only *2* hours from closing time. And Sure it's clean and the food isn't bad but when it takes 45 min for drinks or appetizers to be served when there are literally 5 tables taken in the whole place, ridiculous. Every time our waitress came by we were reminded of how she's "so busy tonight and there's only two of us on the floor". We aren't blind....looking around at an empty restaurant, don't tell us you're "so busy". What else? Waitress didn't know about drinks on the menu, didn't know if a promotion advertised on the tables was still going on, said we only got dinner rolls before dinner if they made any recently (I guess they didn't because none came), took 45 min from the time we ordered two beers to actually receive them and that's only because I finally walked up to the bar and grabbed the drinks which had been obviously sitting for some time because all the head had fizzled out, she didn't bring one order with a few special requests as ordered so probably just didn't tell the kitchen, and then had a hostess bring out our food which is fine but she just came up to the table with our food saying "here you go I don't know I'm just a hostess". This is all I can remember exactly but all other interactions were similar. Does management just teach the staff to apologize incompetence away or to make excuses if you happen to be requested to perform one task slightly outside your job description? It was so perfectly horrible this could have been a hit episode on some reality tv show. This is the first review I think I've ever written, not because I got physically ill or that I was grossed out, but because this placed is so poorly managed it oozes out from every aspect of the employee to customer interaction. Please don't go here. You will quite literally be taken care of better by the high school kids at mcdonalds. Ok. I'm a local and I've been here several times. Not a lot to choose from here in Clovis. i really hoped this time would be better. I've heard recently that this place was under new management and things would be different. Unfortunately no change as far as I can see. We walked in and waited a while. No one acknowledged us and we eventually left. Don't waste your time. I could list the last few times we tried this place. Why bother? I wish I could give this place 0 stars. I've been there twice since they've opened and it's honestly terrible. First time was with a group of 8 and our appetizers came before the drinks, we didn't have silverware, our steaks were over cooked (ordered med-rare) received well done. The chicken fried chicken only had a small amount of gravy. My fiends fajitas did not come with the whole tortilla set up. Seriously it was the worst experience I've had. Have been here previously for the prime rib and last nights was very disappointing. Everything about the meals was good with the exception of the prime rib. We ordered it medium well, I know we shouldn't, but both came out well done. The reason, they were very thin cuts. Previously the cuts were at least 3/4" think. The steak came out correct. Service was fine. Live music too, over all it's average for the money. But the Mac and cheese side, which is an upcharge, is a joke. To start, I'm only giving this place 2 stars due primarily to the meal we ate. We got here and seated fairly quickly for a 4th of July impromptu lunch. We ordered two Cowboy Ribeye's, 2 sweet teas, and an order of chips and salsa. When we entered, the establishment was very clean and the ambiance was quiet and nice. Our waiter had us seated and with drinks within 10 minutes. Considering he was the only waiter on visibly staff at the time. When we received our sweet teas, we had to thoroughly investigate it because the lighting made it appear to be dirty dish water. The tea once we got past the odd look tasted pretty good. It took approximately 40 minutes to get our meal, again not upset about the wait. But when we started to eat the steaks it tasted more like a sirloin steak because it was missing the classic Ribeye marbling and it also felt like it could have been subpar quality or from an old cow. As I chewed on mine it felt like it was disintegrating into chalky unsatisfying mush. I took a few bites from my wife's steak and found it slightly better because it didn't turn into chalky mush but her steak was also unevenly cooked. Medium well on one end and black and blue on another. We both ordered in the range of Medium Rare. The chips from our appetizer were ridiculously overseasoned, causing them to be spicier than the salsa itself which was pretty tasty. A baked potato was my side and when I got it, it was cold. Cooked though but the sour cream or the cheese wasn't melted or melting. My wife had steamed broccoli for her side and it was cold and raw. We are only visiting and may never return due to not living here but even if we did love in Clovis, we wouldn't eat here again. read more

You know i found this place and saw the parking lot was busy. So I decided to stop in. When's I sat at the bar the young lady behind it seemed a little rude. But I let it slide. As time went on I found out why. They have gotten a mere menu and everyone was a little frazzled. No one we trained on the be menu at all. This place was close to our motel room so thought we would try it out. After we were seated, it took over 15 minutes before a server even acknowledged we were there. Another 10 minutes went by before our drinks, water and tea, arrived. We both ordered the Sun. night special, Chicken Fried Steak, which included a trip to salad bar and one side. My husband had to go to another table to get silverware as none was brought to our table. The salad bar had a very large selection to chose from, however, it appeared it had been some time since it had been serviced. We had to wait for plates, some of the vegetables - celery, carrots - were so dried out and not very appealing, some bowls were empty of salad, and the outer edge of bar not cleaned of drippings. Just general need of servicing. We had completely finished with eating our salads when our server asked if all was well. We told her we were still waiting on our entrees. (Couldn't she see that?) It was getting to the point where we were ready to just leave without ever receiving them. Finally, she brought them and it looked like they had been setting under a heat lamp for sometime as gravy was congealed. The mashed potatoes appeared as if a baked potato had just been smashed on plate. Overall flavor of steak was average but quite dry, my husband's sweet potato was by far the best part. It was perfectly baked, beautiful in color, excellent. Server just kept apologizing for everything. When it came time for our bill, she brought it and then disappeared. Another server came by and my husband handed it to her. She took it to the back and handed it to our server. There were a lot of servers that night, but it appeared only a couple knew what to do. If ever back in Clovis, KBobs will not be on our stop. Training, training and more training. read more

I used to love going to Kbobs growing up so I thought I would stop back in on my way through Clovis. The menu was a little higher than I remember but I saw a single trip to the salad bar was 3.99 and I could add on a baked potato for two dollars more. I also ordered a water. My check was $14.03! When I asked the waitress why my bill was that high ahe said the salad bar was only 3.99 with the purchase of an entree; otherwise the salad bar was $9.99. I went back and looked at the menu and sure enough it did state that. A $14 salad and baked potato was not what I had in mind for lunch. I will probably not go back there. Too expensive for a town the size of Clovis. read more

How in the world does this place only have 2-1/2 stars?? I stopped in on a work trip because it said "STEAK" and it was close to my hotel and have to say it was top notch. I ate in the bar so I can't speak to service in the dining room but my service was first rate. To start off the beer was ice cold and served in a nice large frosty mug. I ordered the rodeo ribeye (Med rare) with a baked sweet potato ( I know.. sweet potato with a steak ??? I like a little sweet with my beef) and green beans. The steak was cooked just a touch over mid rare but anyone who knows anything about cooking a 9oz ribeye will tell you it's very hard to get any color on a steak this size with out getting close to medium. For getting as close as they did to perfect I say " a job damn well done". That aside it was super tender, flavorful and fantastic. The sides were cooked to perfection piping hot and tasty. The green beans were even seasoned well. Which is rare. I barely had time to enjoy half a beer before it was time to eat. Quick, tasty, cold beer. What else could a man want really. read more

I got ripped off by K-Bobs! Meal was good and service was adequate. Left a generous cash tip and payed the bill with a debit card. Checked bank statement a few days later and $15.00 was added to my total. Went back with my receipt and talked to the manager and he said "oh, she has done this before." I could not believe my ears. They let an employee stay after altering receipts and stealing from customers in the past. Manager told me he would fix it by crediting my debit card. 60 days later and I'm still waiting and I bet those thieving employees are still working there. I have given this place ample opportunity and find that the wait staff is always slow, never get the steak cooked right, salad bar is always low on food, never have enough hot rolls, in fact one time they brought me toast. Let me start this off with how excited everyone in Clovis was that this place reopened after arsine taking the other K-Bob's life. I kid you not, I recently moved back to Clovis due to agriculture job opportunity for my husband, and every person I knew in Clovis beforehand were ESTASTIC about K-Bob's opening... And not anymore. Went to the bar area since I had to be to work rather quickly. The bartender Amy was absolutely rude, slow, and unknowledgable. I asked for a glass of champagne, saw they had my favorite New Mexico sparkling wine...and she blew most of it all over the floor...and charged me for the ENTIRE bottle. She continued to be rude on top of that. Food was terrible. I mean...terrible. I have heard from many people in Clovis how poor the food was from the "Chuck" wagon...but I didn't expect to be physically ill from the crab stuffed mushrooms. My husband loved eating at KBob's in his hone town many years ago. So he was excited to go again with us. We were not impressed. The hostess was no where to be found and the manager was seating people. We already had salads from the "one trip" salad bar and were waiting for our server to bring us our silverware...she finally came by after about 10 minutes.
