Thai city is amazing, we had the best experience. We came during a busy lunch rush hungry & ready to eat. Our server Desiree was magnificent even with it being as busy as it was. Taking multiple tables orders from memory with no issue & still tending to every table, as she was the only server in the restaurant. She was doing it all from staying on top of refills to wiping down tables. Quick to get everybody in & out. Not only were we blown away with the service but the food was above our expectations. We started with the shrimp wraps & they were the perfect appetizer. We then ordered the Pad-C-U as an entree & it was phenomenal. Our server gave us different options of spice levels & we went with extra spicy. To some this may be a little too spicy, but I enjoy spice & it was perfect. I loved the feeling of a family owned business. One of those restaurants where you know the food is going to be good just by the looks of the restaurant. This place was probably built in the 1950's and never got updated. The aliens likely ate here, then crashed in Roswell because they had a heart attack inflight from the 2 pounds of salt that was in their meal. .... Mystery solved! The restaurant appeared to be clean. Our server was friendly and courteous. We ordered orange chicken with fried rice, vegetable lo mein, & egg rolls. The fried rice & lo mein were ok. The egg rolls had a strange taste. The orange chicken was awful. The chicken had been cooked prior to being battered & fried. It was tough, so tough that I asked for a knife & had to "saw" to cut it. The chicken was dry, the sauce was tasteless & needed at least some salt. When the server came by to check on us we said the chicken was too tough to eat. We ate the lo mein & left. Food was okay when I was eating it, took longer than I expected but sounds like maybe only one guy in the kitchen. Beef and broccoli dish from our group took the longest to get. There was country music playing and it's definitely dated on the inside. The food, while not bad, was not spicy for medium at all. This place is one of the rare Asian restaurant selections in Clovis, nm. Since there's not much Asian food in this town. PARKING It has parking at the side of the restaurant, maybe 10 spaces. The rest of the parking will be over at the motel area, which is adjacent to the restaurant. AMBIANCE It's a very Asian style restaurant and it makes you feel right at home. The server was really sweet and polite. FOOD Everything was very tasty. We got their Noi Special -spicy noodles with beef, avocado, jalapeños, and onions- it was really good and the noodles were cooked perfectly. Definitely recommend it. Their green curry fried rice was cooked perfectly as well. It had shrimp and broccoli in it. The rice tastes like the ones in the Thai pinapple dishes. Lastly, their chicken curry was nicely done as well. It had a slightly sweeter taste to it but still was done correctly. Overall, their prices are a little high but it's served in large portions. Thai City never disappoints! My favorite is the toom yum noodle soup. I also love their Thai tea with extra half and half. My husband's favorite is the chili chicken. I just wish they still had their sushi bar. They definitely deserve five stars for food selection, food quality and service. read more

This is my third time patronizing this restaurant all three times I've ordered the panang beef which is one of my favorite dishes ever on the first occasion the dish was filled with tender beef any rich spicy sauce one could taste every ingredient. Unfortunately on the last two tries I was somewhat disenchanted what's the dish repeatedly it had very little beef maybe about 2 fork full however the sauce was on point what I would change is loading the container with I believe bamboo sprouts and jalapenos with very little meat after all it is called Beef Pang. Since the only other Thai restaurant is a bid for a way I'll have to give them another try hopefully they can get it right I sincerely hope so or better yet maybe I'll just continue purchasing and I had my own cooked beef. read more

This restaurant disappointed me. We came to Thai City because there were not really any other options in town, but we should have opted for fast food. The place itself was pretty roomy with its many booths and tables, but as my family was eating, several large flies buzzed around us. As for the employees/servers, they were very polite (which was nice), but slow. I have been to many great thai restaurants, some very authentic, and it's sad to say that the food here was subpar. All of the dishes were pretty basic/simple and the prices were okay (most dishes were $8.99 or $9.99). We ordered flat noodles w/ beef (#67), pad thai w/ squid (#64) and curry w/ a combo of all the meats (#139). Coming in, I knew that the dishes were going to be americanized, but they were more americanized than expected. The flat noodles dish did not have much flavor at ALL and some of the noodles were undercooked. Generally pad thai is a staple for any thai restaurant, however this one did not have enough noodles to even be proportionate to its immense, TOO sweet of a sauce. We couldn't finish the dish because there was more sauce than noodles... The curry was pretty good and flavorful, so there was nothing off. We asked for more rice (which was nicely cooked) because the portion they gave us was small. Overall, if you're looking for great thai food, I would not recommend this place. Ate here today and it was phenomenal!! We had spring rolls, crab cheese (aka crab rangoon), Thai Stake with fried rice and orange chicken with garlic fried rice. All of it was delicious. The "sauce/juice" in the Thai Stake was a broth like and it was packed with sooo much flavor. My husband's garlic fried rice was good, definitely more flavor than the regular fried rice. The crab rangoon were fried perfectly and had with just enough cream cheese and crab. My husband doesn't really love Thai/Asian food as much as I do and he couldn't keep his fork out of my plate! The food is ok (I gues good for Clovis) but the service, like most of Clovis, is terrible. I'll leave the original review for reference For Clovis this is a 5. Compared to other joints around the country it's a solid 3. Food was good and fast. Pad Thai was as close as you can get to Gus's in Ft Walton for the military types. Sushi was as fresh and good as you can expect this far inland but took a long time to show up at the table. Service was ok but where in Clovis is service good. Overall Thai Bamboo has real competition and this will be a regular stop in the culinary limited Clovis. Thanks to the owners for having fairly good sushi with a real sushi menu. Drives to Lubbock, Amarillo, and Albuquerque just for sushi can stop now. read more

I had a craving for pho last night, but it wasn't strong enough to drive to Lubbock for, so Thai City it was. It's nestled in front of a motel, and parking can be a little tricky however there is a lot of it. The customer service is alright when you first walk in, I was told to sit where I wanted. The menu is very very large, almost too big. It is mostly Thai dishes, but they also have Japanese, Chinese, and Vietnamese dishes as well. I ordered a Thai Tea for my drink with a water and a bowl of Pho. I wasn't expecting the best since I am in Clovis and at a mostly Thai restaurant. My Thai Tea was good, it was very sweet so you'll definitely need a water. My Pho took a little long to come out. I tasted the broth first, and you can taste the flavors that Pho should have, but it is muted and a little bland. I was impressed for my location and the restaurant I was in though. It came with meatballs and slices of cooked meat. The meatballs were extremely chewy so I took them out. The Pho was good when you added Sriracha and hoisin sauce. Overall, for the location and the restaurant I was pleased with what I got and I would go there again. read more

So naturally we decided to order it to get our "fix".....let's just say I would rather it not be on the menu than to disrespect this highly regarded Vietnamese dish. One of my main staples for food in Clovis. Mainly because, It's one of the few restaurants in Clovis I haven't got food poisoning from, so there's that. Good Thai food, best option for pho, and a gigantic menu. You can't go wrong with most of the Thai options on the menu. If you start branching out to more American options like orange chicken, or Kung pow chicken it tastes pretty standard. Service is friendly and fast. No complaints from my end. This place was packed for dinner on a Wednesday which is a good sign as we had not tried it before. Crab Rangoons were fresh and delicious but they don't come with sweet and sour sauce. I had chicken teppanyaki which was delicious except for the steamed rice which had bits of egg in it. Hubs had chicken fried rice which he liked but I thought the rice looked mushy and not quite right. Son had sweet and sour chicken who looked ok. We also ordered cowboy rolls which waitress told us they were out of while giving us our entrees. We asked several times for yum yum sauce and never got an answer. Waitresses seem young and overwhelmed but just keep your order simple and give them some slack. We will definitely be going back and we will bring our own yum yum sauce! read more

Thai City is starting to grow on me as I have lived here a little longer. As I said previously, you have to be careful what you order. I have tried their fried rice which is yummy and their curry is just really darn good. The past few times I have been there the service has been good and the staff is helpful in choosing dishes (which is nice because their menu is huge). Still haven't tried to sushi and I don't do landlocked sushi and I still will not order out from here. Overall, have had better experiences as I continue to be dragged here by friends and am happy I went back. read more
