Friendly local Tex-Mex restaurant off the beaten path in Clovis New Mexico. Stopped by for lunch on my way back home. Friendly welcoming staff. Nicely decorated and spacious restaurant with plenty of tables and booths. The food was a little disappointment. My pastor tacos were dry and difficult to eat my experience with Pastor tacos in the past has been very juicy and full of flavor that was not the case today at this restaurant. My dining companion had an enchilada plate and said it was average and not much flavor Super friendly folks and average food. I visited with a friend who lives in Clovis and he raved about the food, so I may have just made a poor selection. He raved about the.Bierra de Chivo and the torta ahogada - so I may have to come back next time I'm in the area and try those dishes because there are so many favorable reviews. read more

We stayed in Clovis on our way from San Antonio, TX, to Cleveland, NM (spring break ski trip). My wife and I arrived with our 3 children (7, 4, 2) a little after 4PM for dinner (we had just entered the time zone) and the restaurant had lots of patrons. We were greeted by a hostess and several other employees and were seated right away. They brought chips (the homemade thick kind) and salsa (a chunky medium to hot). That type of chip is not our favorite and they lacked salt. The waitress (Mayra) was attentive and gave us time to order. Wife ordered the Texas Plate (#11) with cheese enchiladas. I ordered the Steak Ranchero (#7). We ordered the quesadilla (steak) platter for the kids to share. All the food was delicious with the exception of the flour tortillas that came with the meals (they seemed to be store bought mission tortillas rather than homemade flour ones we would prefer). They had a green salsa and what I think was a chipotle salsa. Both were good but the green (my favorite) was excellent. The restaurant was very clean. As with most restaurants these days there were TVs everywhere that distracted the kids, but that's not the restaurant's fault. The three meals (water to drink) plus a generous tip was just shy of $48. Definitely recommend!! read more

Dear Management, I am writing to express my extreme disappointment regarding the experience my group of 13 had at your establishment on 02/14/2026. While we found the food to be bland, the service was even more concerning. Our waiter was rude and arrogant, and the rest of the wait staff was largely inattentive throughout the evening. It felt as though the quality of service was neglected because a gratuity was already included for a group of our size. Furthermore, we were seated directly next to a broom and a pile of trash that remained there for the duration of our meal. Due to this poor experience, I cannot recommend your restaurant to others. Oh my goodness! This place is awesome! I wish we had found it earlier in our trip because I could eat here daily! The restaurant is a typical Mexican place with bright colors and wooden furniture. Our waitress didn't speak much English but we got along just fine. She made some great recommendations. I tried the carnitas and my friend had a seafood grill. The food was delicious! Super seasoned, just a bit spicy. The salsas we were given were just perfect. I especially enjoyed the salsas verde on the carnitas. Real Mexican food, not New Mexican, so be aware of that. But very, very tasty. Fair prices, good service, and excellent food. What more can you ask for?! read more

Wonderful authentic delicious Mexican dishes are the norm here. The service is five star! The interior ambiance is fun casual Mexican style. We do take out because we are traveling through Clovis on the road with two big dogs so we count on parks for eating our order. We actually set our road map to drive directly to Taqueria Jalisco ! From Fort Worth it's just under six hours. That's how much we love this place. Salsa is perfect ! Guacamole is a mouthful of green goodness. The only reason they didn't get five stars was the worthless plastic fork set. When you eat on the road the tableware makes a huge difference. Love the vibe of this place and overall feel. Staff were very nice and attentive. Got the Jalisco green burrito and added fries to the burrito. Fantastic Mexican food that the community raves about here in Clovis! Large indoor dining space with plenty of seating decorated in a very cool and engaging manner. Staff is very friendly and food was reasonably priced. The chorizo queso is the best queso I have ever had!!!!!!!! I would order and eat just that it was so good!! The rest of their food was fresh and very spicy including their homemade salsa. Definitely a place to bring large groups for easy and delicious dining. Only downsides preventing 5 stars was their chips were very thick and almost stale in texture (they weren't actually stale, that's just the kind of chips they were) and their meat while spicy was missing a lot of complex flavoring and really relied and the salsas for flavor punch and those were just ok. A green and red salsa were provided in addition to the dipping salsa and as stated those were ok but a little bland. Seasoning the meat better and adding some more variety in the sauces (maybe some with a Mayo base like what El Asador in Pensacola uses) would add a lot to the experience. First time in Clovis and looking to get a taste of home, with some of the traditionals like chile colorado, chile verde or real chile con carne. My dad strongly recommended this place, and initially I thought it was only because of the lovely servers. After a fine meal I knew why. For starters the chips and salsa were good. The staples, rice and beans, were also good, but the star of the plate was the chile verde for sure. Disappointed that tortillas were not 'homemade', but with the chile verde, that more than made up for it. Dad got the Carne a la Tampiqueña and he ate the whole thing. Food was super good and hot, the salsas had flavor and the dishes were chose we flavorful as well. We came in about 8:00pm on a Wednesday night and my father ordered a Menudo and surprisingly they actually had some and he said it had a lot of flavor just like home. I tried the Carne en su Jugo and I was packed with flavor. The only thing that let us down was the tortillas de maiz kept breaking and they weren't warm enough. We read all the different places we could grab a quick dinner and settled on Taqueria Jalisco. Definitely the right choice! The restaurant is large, service was friendly and quick. We said we were trying to be quick to get back on the road and they were super efficient. I ordered chicken and pork tacos and they were kind enough to give me a side of lettuce and tomatoes and I could fix the tacos up as I wanted. They usually only come with onions and cilantro. My husband got the chicken enchiladas and he said they were great. Watch out for the salsa. It's got some kick! I am so glad we stopped here. Great find! read more

I was hoping this place would be a vit more tasty than it was. I grew up in NM and have expectations for New Mexican food especially green and red enchiladas and the restaurant did not meet them. I got a combo plate with red and green enchiladas, a tamale and a chili relleno. The chili relleno was pretty tasty but the other items were not as good. I also spend 20 dollars which is a bit much for a Mexican combo plate. Perhaps I will give it another try but there is a lot of Mexican places in Clovis. read more

Such a friendly waitress. Nice clean restaurant. The food was really good. The cheese enchiladas were so yummy. . The queso was so yummy. Not too spicy which I like. The chicken queso meal was excellent. It was creamy and tasted so good in the flour tortillas. We also had sopadillas for dessert. It was so good loved the drizzle honey and cinnamon. The churros were also good. Not too heavy. Overall the only down is at the end not getting quick enough drink refills and the salsa was a little too spicy for me. I would definitely go again. They forgot to give the menudo at pick up! Had to go back, get home to find fried onion on salad. Call to complain they bullshit on who to blame the person taking order or kitchen.
