So I'm giving it a 3 because our server was very friendly and efficient. For the food it would only be a 2. We had the special of chili relleno, enchilada and taco. It was very bland and the meat was cold. The salsa was very tomato/ketchup based. No other spices but maybe a jalapeño. The place wasn't that busy but it was clean. The best part of the whole meal was the sopaipilla with honey. Would we go back?? Probably not. read more

The food was meh. The service was ok. I was appalled at the fact that they charged half the price of the entree to have one chicken and one steak fajita taco. This place has been in my husbands' family top #1 place for YEARS and it was finally time for me to see why! We were driving back home from a a road trip and some delays here in Clovis made it possible for us to have lunch here. The service was impeccable... extremely friendly and kind employees and the owner even walked table to table to talk to everyone. He asked us about our food and we told him how far we had traveled to come try this food out. He was extremely friendly and just the sweetest soul. He told us that Juanito's has been in his ownership for 40 years now and that's extremely impressive. We are SO happy to support local businesses! Now the food... holy crap. The most amazing Mexican food we have EVER had and we live in central texas. Extremely fresh ingredients, hot food, super warm and fluffy tortillas. The food did not disappoint! My husband had the Chile relleno with the enchiladas and was completely silent during the meal which just lets you know how amazing it was! Never been here before because we're so rarely in Eastern NM but the place is nice, clean, and our server was amazing. The food was really good too. Not sure if it was NM style Mexican food or more Tex-Mex which is what we love and have all the time. It tasted a lot like Tex-Mex. Definitely a place I'd go back to. read more

Rediscovering the eateries in Clovis and so glad this place didn't get past me. I had a smothered beef burrito with fresh tortilla chips and salsa. I found the chips and salter to be fresh and just totally delicious now as for the burrito I found it to be delicious with high notes of a balance of flavorful seasonings and excellent grated beef wrapped in a fresh flour tortilla and a wonderful red chili sauce that was very aromatic and flavorful. Customer service one of the best I've experienced since returning to Clovis. I felt so welcome and at home in this place most definitely will be returning. It says a lot when you see practically everyone in the restaurant with smiles on their faces and enjoying a comfortable inviting environment. read more

Traveling through town and this restaurant was right next to my motel. I am always a fan of Mexican food and needed to give it a try. I was very pleased. The service started off great. She was at my table ready to take my drink order right when I sat down. She was very patient while I figured out what to eat. I also liked she was able to offer me a salsa with a little more heat than their regular salsa. I ordered the chile Verde enchiladas with green sauce and they were very flavorful. Dessert were the sopapillas and they were great. This restaurant was a great find and will be on my future stops through the area. read more

We ate at Juanito's yesterday and we were so pleased with our meal and the service we received. We quit eating out because since covid started, our local restaurants have seemed to go downhill. Juanito's not only served us a delicious meal, they were kind. You could feel the smiles from underneath the mask. My 5 year old son even mentioned how clean it was in there! We will be back soon. 9/16/2023 90th Birthday dinner for father with 12 people plus infant. Food was great as usual. Inexperienced waitresses who didn't listen and didn't seem to care. Owner refused to talk to us and the owner's daughter insinuated I was not truthful. They dumped an entire plate on my sister in law, in her purse and on a brand new jacket. They ignored the food on the table and continued bringing out food. We pushed the food away from my sister in law and worked to get her purse cleaned out and jacket clean. Finally, after close to 30 minutes, they brought out a wrag to clean the table only after we demaned a clean cloth. The food came out 2 or 3 plates at a time. By the time the last plate was set, the first person was finished eating. They messed up the first person served, took back the plate and didn't bring it back correct until everyone else was served. There were several horrible things in addition to this but I won't go into those because of lilmited space. They were not professional and had no clue what was going on. There were virtually no other people in the restaurant on a Saturday evening which was a bit odd. There was no manager on duty on a Saturday night? If I only had photos! read more

I love this restaurant, the food is delicious, you get a generous amount, authentic Mexican food.... But if you Get MARGARET as your waitress forget about it. I took my mother, she took our order at 2:03 and at 2:30 we got up and left after she severed her "Mexican" friends. This not the first time that I've had Margaret, my brother, going through chemotherapy, wasn't feeling great and she was so rude to him!! Stopped here on a long cross-country road trip. Very tasty salsa (and we are from Texas and very picky). Cheese enchiladas and shrimp enchiladas were delicious. Not the worst food I've had, but it wasn't good Mexican food. I got a burrito supreme and it was extremely bland. I asked for red sauce on top and it tasted like chili from a can. Inside the burrito there was just refried beans and beef that looked like pot roast. The sopailla was their only saving grace. It was actually really good. The one thing that blew my mind is they didn't have their liquor license so they didn't have tequila!! They had "wine margaritas" but that didn't sound good to since we went there wanting normal margaritas. Overall, I won't be going back. read more

Juanito's was food stop #2 on my family road trip to the northwest. We stopped here for dinner in search of a meal full of hatch chiles. Unfortunately, it came up a little short. By small-town standards, I'm sure it's quite good, but the food wasn't all that flavorful or especially tasty. The service was very good, however, and considering the other options Clovis has to offer, this is probably a top choice. The first disappointment was that they only served beer/wine, so the margaritas are made with agave wine. This sounds like it would be delicious, but in actuality it is way too sweet and rather hard to drink. Second disappointment was the table salsa - it was basically tomato sauce with a hint of spice - no bueno. I ordered the meat-free chili relleno (not a lot of meat-free options offered, I might add) which came with rice and beans. The rice and beans were standard Tex-Mex and tasted fine. The chili relleno itself was rather soggy under its red sauce and the fried goodness surrounding the chili was totally lost. Another bummer was that the waiter didn't ask me if I wanted red or green sauce (even though I believe this is an option) so I missed out on the green hatch chili sauce completely. Redemption for Juanito's lies in their fresh sopapillas. Despite being disappointed by my entree, I left feeling happy after eating a hot and fluffy basket of dough smothered in honey. read more

My favorite mexican restauraunt in town. Usually order the two cheese enchilada plate with red sauce and rice/beans. The BEST salsa in town. Hot chips that keep coming. Yesterday we my family met here for a birthday party. This was our first time. The outside of building looks scary but inside nice and clean. We had a table for about 25 people. The hospitality was great.!!! We had an awesome male waiter he managed our table all by himself with ease. We were amazed at the service. My husband had shrimp fajitas which he says were delicious. The Sopapilla were great too. The tacos were good. My daughter had chicken strips but didn't like them. We would definitely go back again. Nice family restaurant. read more

This was the first restaurant we went to when we PCS'd here to Cannon. We went there with our two toddlers and very much enjoyed it. The food was good and we were served quickly.
